With over a decade of experience, he is best known for his range and depth where music is concerned, an expert distiller of time and place. Shawn is a co-founder of @UniversalCave, a record label that specializes in resurrecting hidden gems of the past. Their debut release, Universal Cave's own "Around The Bend" edit was one of Juno Records best selling releases in 2014 and received support around the globe. The label has released edits from Jaz, Selvagem, Robotique and more. Shawn Ryan is also one half of @Superprince1, best known for their lovingly reinforced disco edits and often arpeggiated house tracks. Their debut 12" will be out on Razor-N-Tape later in 2016. The last couple of minutes are to die for!"   Q&A What was the first record you bought that made you realize that you wanted to be a DJ / Producer? Tough question!

A new week, a new episode! After almost 15 years of professional career playing in Spain and Portugal, Kristina’s debut as a producer is worldwide introduced in 2015 through the label “Amsafe Records” with TRAXX1 and TRAXX2, the first two Ep's. Her interests and focus during this period was mainly Drum & Bass, Breaks and Electro. Now a days she works in her own vision of the Electronic Music which goes from Techno to US House. The AMSAFE concept and its meaning carries a message: “The need of a spiritual guide that protects us from a material world of hazardous nature and against of the soul development”. Based on different styles and using other formats like CD and vinyls, Kristina exposes and sets up DJ sets built from deconstruction. Break lines or musical concepts are often the pathways of building new ideas to help us understand electronic music. Q&A: Q: So you have been active as a DJ for the last 15 years, what motivated you to take it a step further and start producing? A: The production is something that interested me since I was a teenager, when I became aware of what electronic music was, and in those days it was made basically with machines. I had many imagination, and my head constantly invented sounds and songs, sampling with my mind, but making music was something that felt like an unattainable dream. I used to buy some magazines of music production, (which hardly understand) because I liked watching all these devices, and i wanted to understand how can be created these music that is able to make you fly. But when I started going to parties and clubs, DJs kept all my attention, and when I started to deejing at the end of 1999 ,devoted all my time to this art. 4 years ago I moved to Barcelona, and I thought it was time to make a change, and reach aims postponed. I recieved classes of music production in a school, and later received privates. And that happened until today. So my dream has come true! Q: What inspires you as a producer? A: Now a days what inspires me are positive things. When i feel good and energized, I want to get into the studio and experiment with the music. As I am novice in the field of production and I think that negative emotions stop to me sometimes. I get inspired as well by old electro american records. Also it was really hard to set up my studio and when i wake every day and i look it i feel really inspired. Listening to productions from other artists give me inspiration as well. I like artists such a Kenny Larkin, Boards of Canada, Conforce... Q: Has the launch of your label gained good acceptance? A: Yes. I'm really surprised with the success. Being my first first record i was i bit scared but…the record sells good, and even is sold out in some store like Juno Records. I have received very good feedbacks directly from artists who I respect quite much like Laurent Garnier, Eric Cloutier (Bunker NY) Nina Kraviz, Marcel Dettmann... and support from music lovers worldwide. I really appreciate the warm welcome everybody is giving me. Q: What are your future plans as a DJ and producer? A: Thinking in a close date, as a producer I have just finished The "AMSAFE TRAXX 2", that will be out in a few weeks and include on A side another with a project that I have with a guy called Modellover... So now I can concentrate myself in other requests for other labels. As a DJ I continue with my residence at Macarena club Barcelona, twice a month called "Technologica", focused on the Techno sounds. Q: What else do you enjoy to do when you're not in the studio or behind the decks? Hello and welcome back to Metroline Podcast. We took a month off, we know, but we are back with a vengeance with our 25th episode featuring one of Metroline Limited most inventive and forward thinking artists: Aurelien Riviere aka Doubtingthomas. London based Aurelien (DoubtingThomas) first started his musical journey in 1998 after a childhood obsession with drums and their rythmatic allure. Producing down tempo and electronic sounds led to a rapid progression into live recordings and soundscaping which lured him away from France and into London in 2000. Here he studied Sound Engineering at the acclaimed SAE and continued his ever growing passion for composition always in the look for rare music with a twist. Years of record collecting, playing and collaborating around Europe have seen him find his own original and defined sound, influences of which we undoubtedly see stream their way throughout his production and live sets today. We also see him working for the established Juno Records as well producing for commercial advertising. His down tempo, minimal house and quirky techno always look for the patterns and structure of the inner sound. Sequences within the sound, reaction of the mind and body as well as the interaction of images across the music....these are the ideas behind Aurelien's music. Doubtingthomas has delivered something really special for our monthly episode: a beautiful mix of his unreleased downtempo songs.
