Also eine Mischung aus „All You Can Eat“ und musikalischer Delikatessen-Boutique. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/radio-4g-valladolid/message

Bside Incoming: Gebrueder Teichmann Today we have a treat for you, two brothers who are incredible artists with firmly planted roots in Berlin's underground scene since the late nineties. We welcome Andi and Hannes, or Gebrüder Teichmann. The duo have some serious pedigree with their father being the incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist Ulrich Teichmann. Their musical passion has bloomed with electronic music and now they play many of Berlin's best clubs like Berghain/Panarama Bar, WMF, Watergate, Bar 25 as well as their regular nights at Suicide Circus since 2009. Their artistic outreach also has a strong global dimension with the formation of intercultural electronic ensembles like Karachi Files (Pakistan/Europe), BLNRB (Nairobi/Berlin), and Mondmaschine (Mexico/Central America/Europe). Their Bside selections reflect this curiosity for the diversity of rhythm and music, with their tried and tested B2B formula keeping the energy flowing Gebrueder Teichmann soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/gebrueder-teichmann Their instagram - https://www.instagram.com/gebruderteichmann/ Follow the Bside Instagram for updates/news/vinyl and general music chat: www.instagram.com/bsidepodcasts/ Artist - Track - Ep/ Album - Label - Year 1. Housepedia Podcasts #HomeIsWhereHouseIsPlaying 6 I Big Pack Enrique Jimenez aka Big Pack is the House Salad Music label boss out of Mexico City. He discovered his love for electronic music in the mid 90's when he attended house and techno parties with local DJs. From then on, his intimate love affair with house music began. The sound of Chicago with labels like Cajual and Relief and Prescription brought him the most inspiration. His whole trajectory changed and music became his life. The task of discovering music became an infinite loop of collecting records. After 11 years of touring dance floors as a spectator and amateur DJ, in 2005 he acquired his first turntables, technics 1200s. When he finally felt he had an extensive vinyl collection, he decided to venture into the world of DJing professionally. Now, with some years of experience, Big Pack has played in key clubs all over Mexico, opening for artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Phil Weeks, Wally Callerio, Andrew Emil, JT Donaldson , Oliver Dollar, 1200 Warriors, to name a few. Out of Mexico, Big Pack has played in Canada, USA and Costa Rica He is very busy with several internet radio show residencies on Radio Webphre and his own podcast & label, House Salad Music, featuring the best DJs in house music. Convinced of the timelessness of music, his mixes are a real tunnel of time, where he plays classics combined with the freshest of modern house. For Morei Info: Antwon Faulkner www.jackedrecordsdetroit.net www.thisismodulations.com Antwon Faulkner has been in the game for nearly three decades now. Born and raised in Detroit, Antwon started hustling mix-tapes at the age of sixteen. With music in his blood, this is truly what he was born to do. At thirty-five Antwon briefly relocated to Arizona but it wasn’t until late 2008, when he moved to Toronto, did we really get exposed to this next exciting chapter. While people may be more familiar with his DJ moniker, the infamous “Twonz,” in 2009 we got to know a new Antwon, an Antwon re-energized, excited and motivated. His focus shifted from throwing parties and DJing to making music and really honing his craft as a producer. Spending countless hours in the studio, Antwon is careful to avoid listening to others while in his creative zone so the product reflects him and him alone, devoid of any outside influences. With an upgrade in equipment and new pieces of gear, we’ve seen Antwon turn a corner in which he has found his lane and is settling in really nicely. The results are heard in using less loops and playing more of his own keys. While he still regularly releases tracks on his own imprint, “Hijacked Records Detroit,” recent years have seen him spreading the love with multiple releases and remixes on “Restructured Recordings,” “Bulletdodge Records,” “KMS Records.”"Downside UP," "Elephanthaus," "Thoughtless Music," "Motech LTD," "UNT Records," "Frequenza," "Sampled Detroit," and "RF Trax." His music has been played by many world class DJ's such as: Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Gene Farris, DJ Bone, Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Carl Cox, Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, DJ Heather, Pete Tong, Paco Osuna, Luigi Madonna, Hector Moralez, Stanny Abram, Stacey Pullen, and many more! While production is where Antwon’s heart is, this is not to say that you can’t still catch one of his killer DJ sets. Antwon is straight up techno and prides himself on being current and remaining relevant. You can rest assured you will always hear the new hot tracks and your Detroit classics, which will now include his own productions peppered throughout the set. Listen closely as Antwon often premieres unreleased material for those that came out to jam. Now here is what you won’t see, no software and no laptop. Antwon is currently on a “Bring Back the DJ” crusade. While technology provides us with amazing advances, this is Antwon’s answer to an over saturated market of “DJs” that haven’t learned the fundamentals of beat matching or DJs having a distinct “sound” based on their own sense and use of timing. Two turntables and a mixer and a whole lot of funk! In 2018 he received the "TESTIMONIAL RESOLUTION PLAQUE" FROM THE CITY OF DETROIT for his contributions in bringing the sound of Detroit to an international audience. 1 Justice Orlando Voorn 2 Morning Side (Nino Bellemo Remix) 3 Perception of Groove (Djebali Remix) 4 What Is This Sound ArchieHamilton's HigherRepurposemix 5 Unique Oscar L 6 Bring Da Drums (Original Mix) M. British composer and electronic producer Circles And Ellipses releases “Burn:Cycle Reworks” via Here & Now Recordings; a follow-up EP to the original soundtrack of the 1994 video game Burn:Cycle, the first ever video game soundtrack to feature orchestral music, consisting of four reimagined electronic compositions. Originally composed and produced by both Chris Whitten and BAFTA-nominated British film score composer, conductor, producer and musician Simon Boswell in the early ‘90s for the adventure video-game title published by Philips Interactive Media, Chris Whitten now returns as Circles And Ellipses to share reworks of this classic game soundtrack. Whitten’s musical journey has been a vast and impressive one so far, from producing classic ‘80s hit-singles such as "What I Am"by Edie Brickell & New Bohemians (which currently boasts 10 million views on YouTube alone), to providing drums for "The Whole of the Moon"by The Waterboys and the legendary Sir Paul McCartney’s 1989 album“Flowers In The Dirt”and joining iconic British rock band Dire Straits on their final world tour from 1991-1992 and once again during their 2017 reunion tour. Chris Whitten is also widely recognised for composing original scores for top media companies, including BBC and Discovery Channel. Circles And Ellipses has just done a Mix for NTS Radio’s Tim Noakes’ ‘Synth Hero Show’ whose previous guests include film composer Clint Mansell, dance duo Orbital, Stranger Things composer Kyle Dixon, and Paul White from R&S Records. Noakes has described Whitten as“cult drum God”. Chris Whitten was born in Wimbledon, just outside London and now lives in the west of England, near Bath and Glastonbury. With a burning desire to pursue a musical career, Whitten left home at the early age of just 16 to study jazz and classical composition at The City Of Leeds College Of Music, although his musical diploma would be cut short in 1979 after picking up more local gigs and eventually embarking on a tour with seminal British jazz-fusion guitarist Gary Boyle. In the early 1980s, producer and guitarist Simon Boswell invited Whitten to perform drums on an album session in Rome. On returning to London, Whitten would contribute to many various styled projects and bands including punk/ funk band Out fronted by local fashion icon and journalist Alix Sharkey, repeated RCA Studio Sessions in Rome, and working as drummer and arranger on several hit albums for celebrated Italian musicians such as Francesco De Gregori, Gianni Morandiand Riccardo Cocciante, collaborating on Cocciante’s 10th studio album with orchestral arranger Paul Buckmaster(Elton John, Miles Davis). Former bandmate Karl Wallinger had since joined Scottish-Irish folk rock band The Waterboys, and in 1984, Whitten would take up drum duties.Chris Whitten performed drums on the hit single “The Whole Of The Moon”, which is still regarded as The Waterboys’“finest hour and signature recording”. Whitten then gained a shining reputation as a prolific freelance studio drummer for artists such as Swing Out Sister and Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders). Co-producer of the original “Burn:Cycle Soundtrack”Simon Boswell currently holds more than 90 credits in film and TV composition, including acclaimed classics such as Phenomena(1985), Santa Sangre(1989), A Midsummer Night’s Dream(1999)and many more. Boswell's record productions from the 1980’s have influenced many other contemporary musicians, notably "Block Rockin' Beats"by UK electronic act The Chemical Brothers. Whitten sees himself as a drummer with a passion for synthesizers. Although he loves the synth sounds of 90’s techno and electronica, Whitten also takes influences from more classic sounds such as the work of Herbie Hancock, Jan Garbarek and Eberhard Weber. As for his electronica inspirations, Whitten has drawn influence from the likes of minimal techno artist Speedy J, early Detroit techno from 69(Carl Craig) and Kenny Larkin, as well UK’s Kirk DeGiorgio and contemporary electronic producer Lone. Whitten’s work as Circles And Ellipses for the “Burn:Cycle Reworks” EP can best be compared to minimal techno maestros such as Stephan Bodzin and Max Cooper.

Canada’s John Acquaviva is one of those behind-the-scene players whose influence spread far and wide. He is a businessman, artist and punter in equal spades, and have dedicated 4 decades to the global dance music industry. As a co-founder of Beatport and Final Scratch, he has helped sculpt the dance music transition from analogue to digital, and from vinyl to CDJs and laptops. (’I think of it as a horse and buggy age in that once you have a car, which in DJ life was both Final Scratch technology and Pioneer perfecting CDs, it’s hard to go back.) A chance meeting in 1989 with fellow Canuck Richie Hawtin, lead to the creation of one of the most pivotal techno imprints, Plus 8 Records (which released music form artist like Cybersonik, Speedy J, Kenny Larkin and Plastikman). They followed that up in 1993 with the more house and tech-flavoured Definitive Records, which, almost 25 years later is still relevant as ever. Today, Acquaviva calls himself a vinyl collector, insatiable entrepreneur, executive film producer and label owner. Yet above all, John Acquaviva is the quintessential performer at heart. His DJ career has surged forward with sets at BPM Festival, Space Ibiza, Output in Brooklyn, Bellevue in Zurich and Crobar in Buenos Aires to name a few. With tracks from Henrik Schwarz, Matthias Tanzmann, Artslaves and more, this is a deep and body-moving tech workout with one the scene’s most reliable and longest-serving pioneers. In 2008 I started a series of radio shows with fellow Freak and host, Jonny Rock. The original format was based around vinyl. Digital started to creep in, then CD's, then YouTube rips, and so on. But the idea remained the same, that we were sharing our discoveries with an audience. Fast forwarding a couple of years and expanding on the original concept, I will once again be playing dance music that you may or may not have heard, but this time said music will be readily available, if pointed in the right direction of course. The idea is for you to use me as your selector slash shop assistant in a virtual record store. Not only will I be shouting about both old and new music, but I will also be following it up with a series of compilations to be released on my label, Classic throughout the year. I will be your slightly odd, slightly off-centre, guide. But ultimately and most importantly, your friendly on-line record shop assistant. Business As Usual: August Track Listing: 01. A new week, a new episode! After almost 15 years of professional career playing in Spain and Portugal, Kristina’s debut as a producer is worldwide introduced in 2015 through the label “Amsafe Records” with TRAXX1 and TRAXX2, the first two Ep's. Her interests and focus during this period was mainly Drum & Bass, Breaks and Electro. Now a days she works in her own vision of the Electronic Music which goes from Techno to US House. The AMSAFE concept and its meaning carries a message: “The need of a spiritual guide that protects us from a material world of hazardous nature and against of the soul development”. Based on different styles and using other formats like CD and vinyls, Kristina exposes and sets up DJ sets built from deconstruction. Break lines or musical concepts are often the pathways of building new ideas to help us understand electronic music. Q&A: Q: So you have been active as a DJ for the last 15 years, what motivated you to take it a step further and start producing? A: The production is something that interested me since I was a teenager, when I became aware of what electronic music was, and in those days it was made basically with machines. I had many imagination, and my head constantly invented sounds and songs, sampling with my mind, but making music was something that felt like an unattainable dream. I used to buy some magazines of music production, (which hardly understand) because I liked watching all these devices, and i wanted to understand how can be created these music that is able to make you fly. But when I started going to parties and clubs, DJs kept all my attention, and when I started to deejing at the end of 1999 ,devoted all my time to this art. 4 years ago I moved to Barcelona, and I thought it was time to make a change, and reach aims postponed. I recieved classes of music production in a school, and later received privates. And that happened until today. So my dream has come true! Q: What inspires you as a producer? A: Now a days what inspires me are positive things. When i feel good and energized, I want to get into the studio and experiment with the music. As I am novice in the field of production and I think that negative emotions stop to me sometimes. I get inspired as well by old electro american records. Also it was really hard to set up my studio and when i wake every day and i look it i feel really inspired. Listening to productions from other artists give me inspiration as well. I like artists such a Kenny Larkin, Boards of Canada, Conforce... Q: Has the launch of your label gained good acceptance? A: Yes. I'm really surprised with the success. Being my first first record i was i bit scared but…the record sells good, and even is sold out in some store like Juno Records. I have received very good feedbacks directly from artists who I respect quite much like Laurent Garnier, Eric Cloutier (Bunker NY) Nina Kraviz, Marcel Dettmann... and support from music lovers worldwide. I really appreciate the warm welcome everybody is giving me. Q: What are your future plans as a DJ and producer? A: Thinking in a close date, as a producer I have just finished The "AMSAFE TRAXX 2", that will be out in a few weeks and include on A side another with a project that I have with a guy called Modellover... So now I can concentrate myself in other requests for other labels. As a DJ I continue with my residence at Macarena club Barcelona, twice a month called "Technologica", focused on the Techno sounds. Q: What else do you enjoy to do when you're not in the studio or behind the decks? A: Listening to many different styles of music, and also many other things: like swimming, practicing yoga with my husband, taking a walk at the beach, sharing time with family and friends, painting… Links: http://www.kristina-amsafe.com/about.html https://www.facebook.com/KristinaAmsafeTraxx https://soundcloud.com/kristina-amsafetraxx Artwork: woof woof! https://www.flickr.com/photos/iandesign/

Apparel Music Radio show is happy to present a special vinyl only selection mixed by the italian legend Claudio Coccoluto. With over 70,0000 records collected and catalogued since the early 70's - “Goats Head Soup” by the Stones being the first one he ever bought at the tender age of nine, and an apprenticeship starting from spinning records on pirate radio stations to the all the world's most respected dance institutions, “Cocco” or “Cocodance” (as he was known until the end of the 80's) is born. Since then he has placed a significant mark within the world of electronic music under his birth name, https://soundcloud.com/claudiococcoluto, which he has used to showcase an ever growing blend of music, and confront the future as a DJ, an artist and a global communicator. Claudio Coccoluto is certainly Italy's most beloved DJ, the country's only DJ to be in the world's top 20 list of most known DJs from the public, even from those who do not frequent nightclubs. He has created soundtracks for famous parties, from the birthday of Diesel's Renzo Rosso (with whom he has always collaborated with throughout the years), to Fiorello's (one fo Italy's most famous entertainers and radio hosts), for companies like Ericsson and Valtur, Vodafone and Peroni, Seat and 3, for events such as the iconic festival of Sanremo and Futureshow, several editions of the MTV Music Awards (Milan, Dublin and Stockholm), and even fashion shows for Moschino and Prada and many other respected brands. His secret lies in his ability to play with the music in every sense of the word. Mixing skill, knowledge, passion he plays all the records he can to transduce his obsession with music into the public's mind and soul on the dance floor. Using everything from the vintage sounds of Chicago and Detroit to the ultra-modern music coming out of Europe and everything else he hears around the world, Claudio Coccoluto is never afraid of experimenting with new sounds and allowing others to be influenced by his never ending search for the next record. Acting as a mentor to any body who is in need of musical guidance and inspiration, Claudio has published over 3,000 articles in the press and his word has always been considered seriously by both his peers and the younger generations of electronic music aficionados. From television to radio programmes, his brand was exported overseas - “The Italian DJ”, his face was published in countless magazines (DjMag cover, July 97' and the new DJMag Italy in December 2011). Having had a strong link with the UK since his career took off, he has even appeared on countess radio shows for the likes of BBC1 and Kiss FM, which allowed his skill and dedication to transform into a true mastery in the art of mixing and giving the public an experience of being moved by the power of sound. The secret to his success undoubtedly lies in his passion. Passion for the music that struck a chord with him at the beginning of his journey into the world of dance music. Passion for the feeling one gets when a whole room of people is touched and transported onto one single wavelength by the strength of selection and intuition for the music; and passion for being a very part of that same feeling that is passed onto the dance floor. This is what motivates him the most – the reciprocal emotions conceived by the sharing of music. His style is personal but equally simple and universal. In his sets he dives into peoples memories, feelings and most importantly happiness, creating a harmony with oneself and whoever is there to experience his relationship with the music. Since the beginning of the 90's, his determination to create a name for himself within the music scene inevitably led him to the production studio. A new door opens for Claudio, one which leads him to discover the science of sound. His lab has always been growing and maturing. An artist who accepts both the past and future of music production, he is surrounded by all the famous analogue machines of the 80's and 90's: Emulators, 909s, 808s, Vermonas, Akais, Moogs etc, but also obsessively experiments with the latest digital softwares and the explosion of the “plug-ins”. Right from the start, he has formed relationships with new and emerging artists to work and share ideas with. 1997 is the year of 'Belo Horizonti' (produced by Basement Jaxx). Claudio's most successful piece of music, which sees a sale of over 1 million copies worldwide and a definitive appreciation by a wide range of artists and critics alike. His precipitation into the world of production led him to begin working on a new project with Savino Martino and Dino Lenny, creating a new record label – “The Dub” and a new production studio which enabled him to delve deeper into the arrangement of dance music pieces but also other aspects of sound. He collaborated with Subsonica on the production of one of the band's tracks on the critically acclaimed “Microchip Emozionale” album. In terms of creating history via the party medium, Claudio and Tina Lepre built the infamous “Angels of Love” parties from the ground up, which he worked on for five years. However, his home ground has and always will be Goa Club in Rome – Italy's best club in terms of attitude and cutting-edge musical selection, one which was certainly nurtured by DJ Giancarlino, a man with whom Claudio has had a long-running almost brotherly musical relationship with. Via a mutual synergy and vision for what the club atmosphere should contain, the two founded the Thursday nights “Ultrabeat” at the club. With a now practically cult-like following, this series of events has and still proposes the freshest and most interesting sounds within the electronic music spectrum and has been given notable attention in magazines such as “Muzic” or “The Face”. In more recent times, Claudio has dedicated more attention to his own personal night at Goa - “Nozoo”. A Saturday night event which aims to showcase a more “party-oriented” side to electronic music and inviting everyone from Kenny Larkin to Sascha Funke, with himself and resident DJ. 2012 is the year that sees Claudio rekindle his close relationship with London, the city in which he further engraved his name through the Ministry of Sound in its golden age. A recent friendship and residency with Moxa Club (Mantova) has given way to the planning of a new London project and Claudio's second coming to the English capital... It's also due to his varied interests that his career has been so multifaceted. With a collection of Apple Mac computers that dates back to the mid 80's and finishes at the latest iPhone, Claudio has always had a keen interest in all that is groundbreaking, interactive and technological. A string of interests which feed off each other. Never afraid of trying new things but also closely following specific aspects of art and culture which intrigue him – Pop art, Transavantgarde, literature, the works of Terry Gilliam, Kubrick and an eye for architecture, a subject which he studied before moving his main focus on music. From March 2001 to June 2002 he was a correspondant for “l'Espresso”, an Italian magazine dedicated to general affairs, actualities and modern culture, where he had a stable column in the nightlife section. He has subsequently been involved with “Hot” magazine and since 2003 has had a regular column there entitled “Journeys In Sound”, an in depth analysis and commentary on nightlife culture; and the Italian version of “Trax” magazine, one of the most iconic dance music platforms. Also in 2003, Claudio was called on by charismatic Italian TV presenter, Pippo Baudo, and was given the honour of being part of the jury at the 2003 edition of the festival of Sanremo – Italy's longest-running and most respected national music festival. The same year, Claudio started working on a weekly radio show on “Radio Deejay” (the Italian radio station for dance music) every Friday from 10 to midnight, entitled “C.O.C.C.O.” where he exclusively mixes live and strictly vinyl only. Technology is used solely as a means of communication and interaction between himself and the listeners. Television has also been a medium in which Claudio has appeared regularly. From the “Maurizio Constanzo Show” to “Do The Right Thing” on La7 and has even been pat of a government discussion on the laws regarding nightclubs and nightlife culture. In recent years, he has appeared in a 2008 anti-drugs film entitled “Io Non Ci Casco” (“I'm Not Falling For It”) as himself; he appears in the 2003 Paradise Garage film “Maestro”, a movie/documentary depicting the life of Larry Levan and the early days of DJing and house music; and in 2007, he wrote an autobiography - “Io, DJ” (“I, DJ”) describing his career in detail.

K1971 PODCAST - DJ T-1000 aka Alan Oldham Alan Oldham has been called "Detroit Techno's Renaissance Man" (Musik, UK).A lifelong cartoonist and graphic designer, a young Oldham published his own comic book "Johnny Gambit" in 1987 to local notoriety. Hired that same year by his childhood friend Derrick May to illustrate several memorable pieces for the new Transmat label, this led to Oldham's first involvement in the fledgling techno scene. Besides his art and writing, 1987 also saw Oldham's radio debut on Detroit's WDET-FM with the long-running 'Fast Forward' program. Originally meant to be a free-form rock, jazz and fusion show, Oldham's passion for both local and international electronic music gradually took centerstage until it finally became the only radio program in Detroit to feature techno and house music exclusively. The early cassette, reel-to reel and four-track material of such (now) well-known international artists as Underground Resistance, Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, Octave One, Anthony Shakir, and Richie Hawtin made its on-air debut here, as well as being the first and only show to break international acts like Moby, Joey Beltram, 808 State, LFO, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, and others in Detroit. In 1988, Oldham graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in Radio-TV-Film. In 1990, having finally produced his own EP at a friend's studio, Oldham sold the project to a small Dutch label whose fax number he found in the record bins of Recordtime. His pseudonym for the four-track project was Signal to Noise Ratio released by the small Dutch label, DJAX Records. After the release of the EP, label boss Saskia "Miss DJAX" Slegers hired Oldham to create the graphic identity of DJAX-UP-BEATS. Ten years on, DJAX dominates the Dutch techno scene and Oldham's trademark visual style still defines the label. In 1992, Jeff Mills left Underground Resistance to become a solo act. "Mad" Mike Banks, needing an immediate replacement DJ for a month-long Austrailian live tour, tapped Oldham for the job. Without rehearsals, Oldham took the leap of faith that changed his life. Jump start into infamy. Leaving his increasingly-thankless WDET airshift behind forever and adopting the onstage personal of DJ T-1000 (taken from the shape-shifting liquid metal cyborg in "T2"), Oldham began rocking decks for UR and never looked back, setting the stage for subsequent UR "assault DJs"Rolando and James Pennington. Upon returning from UR's triumphant Austrailian tour, Banks again tapped Oldham's many talents, this time asking him to create a label to be distributed by a new company that Banks was organizing, a distributorship that would within a few years come to dominate the Detroit landscape: Submerge. Oldham agreed and his second and most successful attempt at a label, (the first was the disasterous Technika records 1989) would be called Generator. It was also during this time that Oldham once again became prolific, artwise. A fully-painted "Danger Girl" comic strip in Muzik UK and the album cover for Astralwerks "Beyond The Third Wave" (ASW6170) compilation marked 1995, as well as his debut retrospective at Detroit's Cement Space Gallery and a new "Miss DJAX" comic. With his solo career in full swing, however, it was time for his music to follow suit. Oldham established the Pure Sonik label in 1996 with the double-barreled, double-vinyl statement of intent "Pure Sonik Manifesto" (PURE1). This move garnered his first cover story in Magic Feet (UK), and a music video that aired on MTV UK's "Party Zone". Three years later, the label continues to feature Oldham's production talents as DJ T-1000, the best moments of which can be found on the CD/2x12", "A Pure Sonik Evening" (PURE10) . In 1998, Oldham began an alliance with legendary German techno label, Tresor when their label manager vacationing in Detroit, was blown away be his demo tracks. Signing him on the spot, the first product of that transatlantic union was "Jetset Lovelife EP" (Tresor87) and his debut performance at the Tresor club in Berlin. In between a solid year's worth of DJ dates both in the US and abroad, the release of his first-ever mix CD "Live Sabotage" (BML/X-Sight 6386), and many personal changes at home, Oldham delivered his debut album "Progress" (Tresor128). It was released in Europe in October 1999 and a world tour quickly launched, capped by an epic, four-and-a-half hour set at the Tresor Club, broadcast live over the internet. "Progress" was bracketed by the dual release of "Codes And Structures Vol 1" (PURE11) and "Vol 2" (PURE12) on his own Pure Sonik label. As the new millenium began, Oldham produced a second mix CD "The Last DJ On Earth" (PURE14) , launched 2 websites (both for label and his art), participated in DEMF 2003, released of another album "Neutra" (PURE17CD), and a return to artwork. After over a decade in the music business, DJ T-1000's job of World Sonik Domination is never done. Oldham in 2006 started his first-ever, low-tempo/experimental, CD-only label, "xfive." and presented its first release, "The Art of Transformation" (X5001CD) inspired by his art gallery openings in France, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Germany. Another "Art of Transformation" CD released in January 2008. In 2009, Oldham released an all new Johnny Gambit comic with accompanying original soundtrack with 2nd installment and soundtrack finished in March 2013, awaiting release.2012 saw the rise of the moniker, Detroitrocketscience (first appeared on xfive), and debut of label of same name with the release of a series of 10" records in 2012/2013.

It's time for podcast round two so we felt the need to draft in a rising star on the underground house circuit.  In our constant pursuit to unearth fresh talent, we're stoked to have Underground Artists' very own Cristoph taking control of episode two.  Recently, the Geordie lad has released a slew of highly regarded EPs on Defected and Underground Audio respectively.  His dance floor focussed deep grooves have been causing a stir across the globe and this mix showcases his dramatic DJ style perfectly.  We caught up with the spinner for a chat ahead of his show here at Egg for Night Train on 14th December. Where, how and on what was the mix recorded? The mix was done in my studio, well by studio I mean spare room in my house! I used a set of Pioneer CDJ 1000's and a Pioneer DJM 800 mixer, it wasn't planned out or anything. It contains a few promo's i've been sent recently, some tracks by producers i'm really into at the moment and a new one of my own called 'You Got Me'. What are your highlights from 2013 so far? Any stand out moments? This year has been pretty crazy for me to be honest. I only started the 'Cristoph' alias at the end of last year so started on new productions this year and have been so lucky with that. I had my first tracks signed and released this year, I met my manager Kal...got an EP signed to his label and then was signed by his agency, had an EP signed by Defected, played at ADE......very lucky boy i'd say. You've made a big impact with your debut release on Defected 'Guffaz' How did the opportunity come about? Its took me massively by surprise the impact its had and the support its received, i'm very grateful for that and to Hot Since 82 who was the first DJ to give me feedback on it and play it out all the way back in march! It's a funny one how it ended up there, i'd actually sent it to Kal who wanted it for his label...he contacted Andy at Defected to get a sample in the record passed by them, Andy then asked if I had anymore unsigned music, Kal sent him over some and Andy wanted an EP choosing 'Dunka' and 'Surprised You' from the batch.Do you have any upcoming releases elsewhere? I have an EP out on Underground Audio on November 18th entitled 'Shelter Ep', one out on Extended Play in December and 2 EPs coming next year with Defected.Ahead of your gig at Egg London on the 14th for Night Train is there anything that you'd like to shout about? I'd like to say a big thank you to Kal for the support he's giving me since signing me in the summer and for allowing me to be part of his awesome agency, there's too many producers and DJs that I love to actually list but I am giving a special shout to all at the Underground Agency. Anyone who's in London on December 14th to come to The Egg to support the night, catch me and DeMarzo from Underground Artists and see the legend Kenny Larkin headline the other room. Last, but not least, for everyone to keep supporting house music as a whole. Cristoph will be performing alongside Demarzo, Mihai Popoviciu, Okain, Marc Marzenit and Kenny Larkin on 14th December for Night Train at Egg London. Click here for more details and tickets

Today we got an amazing special for our listeners. Martin Patiño & Enzo Elia recorded their mix at Stereo Bar Stuttgart on 17th April 2011 for the Weekend Warrior-Podcast... so, enjoy this really, really hot show!!! Martin Patiño: Coming from the cradle of Italian house, a new generation of beat makers is taking their own unique set of digitally immersed excellence to the clubs and to the streets. At the forefront of these pioneers of spoon fed sound experts is Martin Patino, whose Italian background has in no way overpowered his intense passion for exploring his Peruvian roots. Whereas others would have been more tentative about their abilities, Patino entered the scene with every intention of making his presence known, diving directly to the forefront of the European house music scene starting from collaborations with Enzo Elia and proving his unstoppable potential with the decadent club triumph Sunrise in La Serena (an exquisite mix of sumptuous house rhythms entwined dripping with soulful latin percussion). It was not long before Patino, suitably relocated to Berlin, followed with a solid stream of refined productions demonstrating his range and unmistakable skill including remixes of some of Berlin’s top artists (Oliver Koletzki founder of Stil Vor Talent and Florian Meindl of FLASH). By the time Patino’s SOMBRAS EP was released, the artist had already caught the attention of some of house giants across the globe, forming alliance’s with Florian Meindl’s FLASH, Jimpster’s FREERANGE, and Schlomi Aber’s BE AS ONE labels, with sultry sounds made to melt the speakers off of some of world’s top clubs. more infos about Martin Patiño on the following sites: beatport.com > search for Martin Patiño facebook.com/martinpatinomusic residentadvisor.net/dj/martinpatino twitter.com/Martin_Patino facebook.com/pages/Martin-Patino/11335 myspace.com/francescospaggiariakamartinpatio lastfm.it/music/Martin+Patino lion1music.bandcamp.com/album/nil Enzo Elia: Enzo Elia born in Italy. At aged 13 he discovered the world of the music, starting to buy vynils and collect them. He didn’t like football, he prefered spend time putting music on the radio and connecting with people, jumping between Record’s stores, searching the best music of the moment. He has always played only vinyls because, for him music has important value also for remember. "An old vinyl recalls always something" he likes say, and "I love the sound of turntable".. He grew up playing his room with the rhythm of Motown and Italo Disco and then he has felt in love with House Music and Techno Detroit. Some records that he bought, edited by great labels as Dj International, Underground Resistence, Strictly Rhythm, Chicago Trax are a must even now in his vinyl’s bag. He has became even more a vinyl’s searcher and collector, because he always has thinking that in our age of fast communication has no value what is produced in the immediate but what could remains in collective memory... [The degree of slowness is directly proportional to the intensity of memory, (Milan Kundera, Slowness)].. He also studied music at the Department of Music, at Bologna University of art. In this context he started to play always more and more and has got in touch with most important dj’s of italian stage...Since 2004 he started to produce his own music, keeping on a full collaboration with Hell Yeah and Youngodds , labels which for he has realease several work. At the same time he worked as producer also for Be As One, Lion1 and many other and as remixer for great producers like Roland Clark, Oliver Koletzy and Umek. Many important dj love and play his music and his research is supported by great names. His latest single “Touch” (Hell Yeah) has been a small underground hit, supported by Carl Cox, Kenny Larkin, Osunlade, Dj Hell and many others. Recently he is been moved in Berlin, where he’s keeping his music research on, always jumping between Record’s stores. more infos about Enzo Elia on the following sites: beatport.com > search for Enzo Elia myspace.com/djenzoelia lion1music.bandcamp.com/album/nil

Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground MovementRichie Hawtin Biography   Artist, DJ, conceptualist and ambassador, more than anyone else in modern electronic music, Richie Hawtin has relentlessly proved himself to be a true innovator. The one-man mogul behind acclaimed Techno imprints Plus 8 & Minus sends signals out all over the world from his HQ in an old fire station in Windsor, Ontario – just across the border from Detroit Techno City. The signals are constantly evolving, his Plastikman persona gave Techno a unique face with a series of four ruthlessly minimal albums of skeletal beauty, while breathtaking festival live sets at Glastonbury and Tribal Gathering helped invent stadium Techno. His “Decks, EFX & 909” album released on novamute in 1999 expanded the concept of a DJ mix album beyond the imagination of most DJs. As a pioneering DJ and party promoter he was banned from entering America for 18 months. Yet this jet-setting international futurist is as at home exhibiting alongside acclaimed modern sculptor Anish Kapoor as he is headlining a bush rave with Josh Wink somewhere in Western Australia.  More of a decade into his career, it’s no surprise that the every-youthful Hawtin is up to something new. This time, he’s reconstructing the DJ mix album even further with “DE9: Closer To The Edit”, the groundbreaking new album set for release on the novamute label in September 2001.  His first mix album, for the Mixmag Live series, saw him use extra effects and drum machines as long ago as 1993, “Decks, EFX & 909” cut laser-style between tracks and now, “DE9: Closer To The Edit”, sees Hawtin use his sampler to tear the skin and the flesh from the tracks until there’s just a skeleton left, which he reassembles into a kind of Frankenstein’s robot. The result is a mix album like you’ve never heard before. Hawtin describes this unique process “I recorded, sampled, cut and spliced over 100 tracks down into their most basic components. I ended up with over 300 loops, ranging in different lengths. I started to recreate and reinterpret each track and then put the pieces back together, as if an audio jigsaw puzzle – using effects and edits as the glue between each piece”.  A classic like Carl Craig’s ‘4 My Peepz’ (under his Paperclip People guise) breathes in and out in less than a minute, like a lonely spirit lost on the hard drive.  “I don’t like mix CDs, everyone’s being lazy, so I gotta do something different,” says Hawtin. “Some people think it’s about me using some extra equipment – a drum machine and some effects - but it’s a whole philosophy really. ‘Let’s take it to the extreme, to somewhere that’s it never been before’ “  Hawtin believes the whole DJ thing is stuck in a groove. So beyond “DE9…” he is championing a new DJ system developed in Holland called Final Scratch, with Plus 8 partner John Acquaviva. Dance and Electronic music is the most technology-based genre of all, but to Hawtin’s frustration it’s still rooted in a music delivery system developed in the 19th Century: the gramophone record. Even though more and more DJs play tracks burnt onto CD, vinyl still rules because it’s easier and instinctive to control. Final Scratch links up to the normal two-turntables-and-mixer set up, but lets you play tracks stored on a laptop using a special piece of vinyl as a ‘mouse’, or controller. You can access literally thousands of tracks, and scratch, cut, slow and mix them just like normal records using this special piece of vinyl. It’s nothing short of revolutionary. As Hawtin enthuses: “It feels and acts like a regular record.” He’s already using Final Scratch to play unreleased tracks by Josh Wink and Speedy J, and special re-edits of some of Hawtin’s classics and personal faves.   Born in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, on June 4th 1970 Hawtin emigrated with his family when he was nine to Windsor, Ontario, where his dad Mick still works as a robot technician in the General Motors car factory (his mother, Brenda, is in real estate). Richie cheekily borrowed his dad’s persona for his house alias Robotman. His brother Matthew, who shares the Windsor fire station studio complex with Richie, is a visual artist. By 15 Richie was creeping out of the house to cross the border and go clubbing in Detroit. By 17 he was DJing at The Shelter, a dark basement club where he mixed House and Techno with Industrial music by Nitzer Ebb and Front 242. He had his own show on Detroit’s 96.3FM – inspired by a late ‘80s Detroit radio DJ called The Wizard, now better known as Jeff Mills.  As a teenager Hawtin, already into Breakdancing and Electro, was stirred by the radically beautiful machine music being fashioned by Detroit Techno pioneers like Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson. In 1989 he set up Plus 8 Records with John Acquaviva to release their own tracks and push new artists. They started running parties in Detroit. But far from welcoming them, the tight-knit Detroit Techno scene initially turned a cold shoulder on the two renegade Canadians.  “It pissed a lot of people off because there wasn’t anyone else in the city doing it – it took someone from the outside to come in and say, ‘Look, wake up,’” Richie recalls. “These guys [May, Atkins and Saunderson] have left. They’re doing their thing overseas.”  Plus 8 began to gather momentum with a richly varied catalogue of hard-nosed, cutting edge Techno from artists like Speedy J, Dan Bell and Kenny Larkin. Along with the resurgence of Detroit’s confrontational Underground Resistance, this marked the second wave of Detroit Techno. “We all put the focus back on Detroit for a while, we didn’t want to make traditional Techno, we were inspired by traditional Techno. Derick, Kevin and Juan had sent these waves all over the world and we were the first to feel the rebounds of their ripples”.   By 1993 Richie Hawtin’s Detroit parties had become legendary intense affairs as freaky dancing clubbers lost themselves in strange, dark warehouses transformed into disorientating warrens by walls of black plastic sheeting. Inspired by this, Hawtin elected to take Techno one stage further and develop his virtual Plastikman alter ego: a red and black gremlin that is tattooed on his forearm. He didn’t want a collection of tracks; he wanted to make an album that swallowed up the concentrated energy of those parties and spit it back out as something new. An album, “Sheet One” was recorded in a rollercoaster 48 hour studio session and released on novamute in early ‘93 and was soon followed by the brilliant ‘Spastik’, a single recorded three weeks later after a long night dancing to Derrick May.  Hawtin was already shifting identities like a spy changing roles: his 1992 album “Dimension Intrusion”, under his Fuse alias, had played a key part in the Warp label’s groundbreaking “Artificial Intelligence” armchair-Techno series, but he wanted to reach further. He remembered the strange shapes that his friends threw at those warehouse parties, the different creatures they almost became. “Like plasticine,” he says. “That was the whole idea of Plastikman, it was all very viscous and pliable and moveable.” Plastikman wasn’t just a clever alter ego – it was a role for you to try on too. The sound was rubbery and sparse; its moments of melodic steel arriving unnervingly. The first album, “Sheet One”, played up Hawtin’s reputation for LSD and was promoted with a free sheet of fake acid tabs. Hawtin developed a Plastikman live show that still tours the world. Huge audiences at Glastonbury and Tribal Gathering twitched to its twittering insect rhythms, lost in a soundtrack far freakier than anything else those events had to offer. In 1994 the second album on novamute, “Musik”, let a little human warmth seep onto the clattering Plastikman rhythms, but despite its closing robot lullaby ‘Lasttrak’, it was, if anything, even more discomfortingJust as the little Plastikman gremlin was becoming an international phenomenon, American immigration officials banned Hawtin from entering America for working illegally. He was barred from entering the States for 18 months. It was a devastating experience.  “My girlfriend lived there and most of my experiences were in Detroit, my friends were there and all of my musical inspiration was there – and suddenly it was like, ‘See that building over there? You can see your inspiration, but you can’t go there.’” Now, typically, he believes the ban had its benefits. It was at this point the Chemicals Brothers and Underworld began to break out of the dance world and into a wider Rock arena. Hawtin now wonders whether he might have gone further down the stadium Techno route. Instead, grounded in Windsor, he went back to the studio to reinvent. “When that happened it was the worst day of my life,” he says now, “and it was one of the best things too.”  The next Plastikman project, ‘Klinik’, wouldn’t come together. “I had tried to follow those records up but there were feelings of pressure at that point,” he says now. Stuck in the studio, depressed, Hawtin set himself a new challenge and gave it a deadline. He pressurised himself back into action, releasing a series of ‘Concept’ EPs based on the months of the year. Each release would feature two tracks recorded in one month only using a set template of sounds. They would be released and then forgotten. The discipline of producing 24 tracks in 12 months rewired the creative circuits. “It progressed me to a different audience, it progressed me with effects which came into my sets and it progressed me into more of this spatial environment I was trying to get to,” says Hawtin.  It was the starting point for his last Plastikman album “Consumed”, which replaced the angry black and red gremlin with dark, abstract sleeve art and the tense rhythms with swathes of bass and melody. Released on novamute in 1998, it was acclaimed in countries like France – where conceptual artists are traditionally celebrated. “Consumed” elevated Hawtin to a new status, he was now not just an international Techno star, but a contemporary artist. Asked to contribute to a French Millennium Exhibition celebrating different ideas of beauty, Hawtin created a musical installation based around the clicks, hisses and pops of vinyl – a beautiful sound, he argued, to his generation. The exhibition also featured the work of world famous sculptor, Anish Kapoor, who Hawtin had long been a fan. In fact “Consumed”’s unique textureshad been inspired by Kapoor’s beguiling, futuristic, curved shapes and the cover art echoed the sculptor’s famous obelisk. “I was walking around those sculptures and putting my head into some of them. They had like a sonic quality like chambers of nothingness – and that’s exactly what I was trying to hear. Suddenly I was able to walk around a physical version of what I wanted to do musically.” Hawtin was also moved by the mournful purple washes of the late Mark Rothko, which now hang in London’s Tate Modern. Rothko’s work, says Hawtin, “is very, very subtle, just washes of texture. It kind of gave me a visual perspective of what I was trying to get out of my head, sonically. On a flat surface.”  This is where Hawtin is at now. Constantly touring all over the world and keeping fans updated on his world wide DJ travels via his website diaries; taking his dad out to dinner with John Peel (a big deal for his Peel–fan father especially now his son is a huge favourite of the radio DJ); pushing himself to his creative boundaries and taking Techno with him. Not just to the middle of the dancefloor, but also above it.  “The good Techno musicians enjoy having a good time, but can see beyond it,” Hawtin notes. “It’s the closest to a contemporary art form.” With Jeff Mills providing an installation to the recent Sonar event in Barcelona, Germany’s Thomas Brinkmann moving from conceptual art into conceptual Techno, and increasing connections between the two worlds.  As Techno and art move closer together Hawtin sees it as a logical part of his constant reinvention. “It’s about setting a standard for yourself and progressing yourself. Showing people you can do something interesting that’s more than just dance music.”  CONTACT INFORMATION Label/Sales:  Rudy Delgado | rd@m-nus.com  tel. +49 30 405040 345 Press Contact: Meike Nolte | mn@m-nus.com tel. +49 30 405040 355 Tour/Booking: Katrin Schlotfeldt | katrin@clonk.com tel. +49 30 40056892 Special Thanks To Mrs Meike Nolte,Rudy Delgado & Richie Hawtin
