“Playing for Real Madrid, it's the biggest stage in sports, the pressure is a privilege."- Aurélien Tchouaméni The Pivot goes international! Getting ready for World Cup action, we tapped in with a man who's had success and defeat at the highest level of the sport while juggling all that life brings with it and he sits with us to give an inside-glimpse of what it's like to be apart of the most famous sports franchise in the world! On this episode of The Pivot Podcast, Real Madrid star, Aurélien Tchouaméni opens up like never before about life at the top of world football. The Real Madrid midfielder reflects on what it means to wear one of the heaviest shirts in sports, the constant pressure to perform, and how he's adapting to sky-high expectations both on and off the pitch. Tchouaméni explains the rollercoaster of highs and lows that come with global success and how he navigates the pressures, never allowing himself to feel the brunt of the boos or carried away with the cheers. He shares experiences of how he manages to stay focused on the pitch despite the noise outside team walls. In a deeply personal and emotional moment, Tchouaméni opens up about the racism experienced, specifically the incident with his teammate Vinícius Júnior and how it affected all of them, but says it was Vini's leadership and voice that guided them through the difficult time, kept them playing when many wanted to walk off...and in a moment of truth, Aurelien reveals those inner discussions his teammates had about that what ifs and the honest reality of racism that exists. The star midfielder also speaks candidly about representing the France national team, the pride that comes with it, and the heartbreak of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final—including the emotional weight of missing his penalty kick in one of football's biggest moments. He shares how hard the loss was, being overwhelmed with disappointment but found a way to move forward taking those lessons into every phase of his life, impacting him as a man and the way he approaches the game forever. Tchouaméni dives into current contract talks and what his future could look like in Madrid, while also sharing a more personal side—touching on his relationship, viral moments, maintaining balance, and staying grounded amid global fame. He breaks down the financials of the sport and how it differs from American football, and that most young players start earning thousands to play at ten years old. His excitement for the NFL and studying the history and current players has turned him into an avid fan of American Football, recently spending time with Running Back Bijan Robinson who visited them in Spain as well as exchanged messages with Tom Brady. Looking ahead, Tchouaméni discusses redemption, growth, and his mindset as he prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and what it means to be representing his country. This episode is a raw, insightful conversation about resilience, identity, and what it truly takes to compete at the highest level. In this episode of Leadership that Sells, I'm joined by Aurelien Mottier, President of MemoryBlue and a man on the frontlines of AI-powered sales. He's scaled one of the largest outsourced sales orgs on the planet, and he's not just thinking about how to use AI in sales—he's doing it. At scale. Every day. We get into the nitty gritty of how AI is changing the way sales teams operate—from call scoring to pipeline coaching to personalised messaging—and how not to let it turn your reps into lazy robots. If you've ever wondered how to keep your sales machine human while automating the grunt work, this episode's for you. Aurelien breaks down the tools, the tactics and the mindset required to lead sales teams through AI disruption, while keeping people at the centre of the process. There's no fluff here. Just insight, experience and some hard truths about what separates good from great in this new era. Start with AI that boosts productivity, not complexity. Tools like ChatGPT can save reps 10–20% of their time by helping with research, drafting emails and understanding buyer language. Teach the tools—don't assume your reps know how to use AI well. Without clear policy and training, you risk spam, laziness and brand damage. Pair humans and AI where it counts. Use machines for research, data and admin. Double down on soft skills like empathy, listening and building trust. Leverage AI to coach and develop talent. Use call transcripts and scoring to personalise feedback, track progress and create career paths. Invest in platforms that surface real insights—tools like Cluster and Gong can flag pipeline issues, coach managers, and help CROs focus on what actually closes deals. Avoid the ‘build' trap. Partner with tech providers who are ahead of the curve, and stay agile enough to pivot when the next free tool drops. Lead with purpose, not panic. In times of change, be the calm in the chaos. Create safety for your team, but keep moving forward. Timeline summary: [02:22] – Why the hype around AI mirrors the early internet days [05:29] – Why personalisation without relevance is just noise [08:00] – AI isn't about volume. It's about relevance, research and respect [13:01] – Pipeline ≠ revenue. Why you need AI tools that go beyond top-of-funnel [17:03] – The “oil and engine” analogy: Data is the fuel, AI is the engine [22:17] – Soft skills are your moat. Invest in what AI can't replicate [30:06] – What to look for when hiring in an AI world: coachability, curiosity, courage [35:17] – AI for coaching: how to finally do meaningful call reviews at scale [41:08] – Leading in crisis: how to create clarity and calm in an uncertain world [46:13] – Aurelien's billboard message to the world: “Be human” Links & resources: MemoryBlue Gong.io – Conversation intelligence Mentica – AI-powered sales training Good to Great by Jim Collins – book reference If this episode gave you something to think about, share it with a fellow sales leader. Workers in Europe have been rising up to fight for Palestine and against their own governments. It all began with the "bloquons touts" movement in France, which mobilised millions of workers and students to block everything to oppose their government's latest austerity bill - they shut down railway stations, blockaded city squares and went on strikes across public sector work places. Next, something incredible happened. Up to 2 million workers in Italy went on strike and blocked everything, inspired by the French movement. Thanks to pressure from left wing unions and the radical youth Palestine movement, major unions called the first ever general strike to oppose the genocide in Gaza, to end their government's complicity, and in solidarity with the Global Sumud flotilla. This wonderful show of solidarity should serve as an inspiration for radicals across the world. In this special episode, Emma interviews a French revolutionary socialist, Aurelien Gautreau, and an Italian leftist journalist, Francesco Zambelli, about the strikes in their countries. Aurelien is a member of the NPA-R (New anticapitalist party - revolutionaries) in France and Francesco works for Italian leftist radio station, Radio onda d'urto.

They also dive into the limits of automation, the power of collaboration, and their joint efforts on multifamily deals. A must-listen for investors looking to scale smarter!

Kate reviews this week's episode of The Bachelor. Aurelien Leturgie and Emilie Dumay, co-Executive Producers of Gunther's Millions. This four-part Netflix investigative docuseries tells the story of multi-millionaire Gunther VI, who lives in the lap of luxury: He travels on private planes, eats gold-flaked steaks for dinner, and surrounds himself with a glamorous entourage of spokesmodels and entertainers. Also, Gunther VI is a dog - a German shepherd. Gunther's great-grandfather was originally owned by a mysterious countess whose son died tragically. Having no heirs, the countess bequeathed her considerable fortune to her beloved dog, and placed him in the care of her son's close friend, an Italian pharmaceutical heir and aspiring impresario named Maurizio Mian. Over the past 30 years, Mian has built an empire on behalf of his boss (a canine), including glamorous real estate purchases (including Madonna's home in Miami), controversial social experiments including a band, and one of the biggest tax fraud schemes of all time all under the umbrella of Gunther's empire. It is a bizarre and unthinkable story, and naturally – obviously, questions abound.
