This episode, we are honored to be joined by the incredible, Turner Prize-nominated artist and filmmaker, Isaac Julien. Born in 1960 in London, Isaac is one of the leading artists working in film and video today. His 1989 film Looking for Langston garnered a cult following with this poetic exploration of Langston Hughes and the Harlem Renaissance. Over the past three decades he has made work using multi-screen installations to express fractured narratives exploring memory and desire. Earlier this year, he was commissioned by the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia to create a work to celebrate the museums' centennial. Titled Once Again . . . (Statues Never Die), the immersive five-screen installation b explored the relationship between the museum's founder, Dr. Albert C. Barnes, and the famed philosopher and cultural critic Alain Locke. In even more exciting news, next year, Isaac will be the subject of a solo exhibition at London's Tate Britain in April, presenting a survey of his work from the last 40 years. Isaac was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2017 and was knighted by the Queenin the 2022 for services to diversity and inclusion in art. The Queenin team is back at it again! Last season we discussed our individual passions versus what we felt our purposes were. Of course we want to align with God and want to do His will. But what does that look like? We decided to backtrack to our previous episode's personality test in combination with our spiritual gifts. While some of us are running from God's gifts, some of us are living in our best lives. Check out the episode, and go take your spiritual gifts test!

There can be a thin line between a woman who is perfectly juggling it all and a woman who is losing herself to everything around her. In light of this wonderful Mother's Day and Mental Health Awareness month (May), the ladies of Queenin sat town and discussed how we protect our mental space and how we are handling our anxieties, worries, etc. Life can be hard but allowing yourself to be honest with yourself can be a pivotal change in your mental health. 

The ladies of Queenin are at the point in our lives where love and marriage are on our minds. So the question came up - why aren't some men ready to marry? Well we had a dear friend come on the show and let us know. Matt - Pastor, friend, and husband stopped through to school us. The Queenin Team has been all up in Struggle Town this here 2019. Each of us are finding our ways through self control.
