On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, one of the dangers of so-called national conservatism, which has a relatively small following, is that it overlaps with the left by de-emphasizing individualism and stressing that each nation-state should simply be what it wishes. This isolationist approach should be rejected. We need to affirm American sovereignty, strong borders, traditional religion and culture, traditional family structures, and opposition to international institutions like the UN in favor of the Constitution. National conservatism's economic protectionism and interventionism skate too close to the left and serve as excuses for isolationism, centralization that erodes federalism, and more government control; the opposite is needed—deregulation, further tax cuts, and shrinking the central government—lest economic collapse destroy civil society, as the COVID-era attacks on liberties in blue states and cities already demonstrated. Also, Maggie Haberman is a supposed New York Times journalist who is a Trump-hating thug. She's a new journalist who mixes facts, gossip, and fake news. She now suggests that Melania Trump may be upset about President Trump's special assistant Natalie Harp. She's a sleazeball for attacking hardworking women who support the president instead of backing them. Later, there is no truly affordable blue city or blue state in the country for working people and the middle class who keep the nation running—only for welfare recipients or illegal aliens who pay nothing. High sales taxes, gasoline taxes, property taxes, commuter taxes, and various invented fees and user charges fall heavily on those who work and own homes, effectively forcing homeowners to pay a second mortgage to the government after the bank's. Finally, Jon Levine Calls in to discuss his report that Hasan Piker's younger brother Murat is an aerospace engineer who held active security clearances and spent more than a decade at Boeing Defense & Space working on major U.S. military projects. These included the presidential Air Force One (VC-25B), and the E-6B “doomsday plane” designed to maintain nuclear command in wartime. Murat has regularly appeared on his brother's livestreams and at events while Hasan has supported Hamas, praised Hezbollah, and said America “deserved 9/11.” How did he get security clearance? The history of sports in Turkey is deeply contested. Over the decades, journalists, pundits, non-professional historians, sports scholars, and everyday people have offered competing narratives about the origins of modern sports in the late Ottoman Empire. In The Ottoman World of Sports: Refashioning Bodies, Men, and Communities in Late Imperial Istanbul (University of Texas Press, 2026), Murat Cihan Yıldız tells the story of how Istanbul's Muslims, Christians, and Jews—gymnastics teachers, football coaches, weightlifters, journalists, athletes, and fans—created a gendered and class-stratified civic project that promoted athletics as a source of fun, beauty, and moral education. Influenced by the emerging global vogue for organized sports, all boys from the expanding middle class of the late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century imperial capital were expected to exercise and compete on the playing field in order to develop into moral men. Yet even as the embrace of modern athletics transcended ethnoreligious divisions, it did not erase them. Drawing on a wide range of archival research in multiple languages, Yıldız shows that sportsmen created new communal boundaries in team affiliations, fandom, and sports media. Adeptly reconstructing Istanbul's imperial culture as it was experienced more than a century ago, The Ottoman World of Sports recovers a lived imperial culture whose defining features were shaped by its multiethnic, multireligious, and multilingual sportsmen. Convidadas:Helena Solberg – cineasta homenageada 21ª CineOP | RJLucia Murat – diretora e produtora | RJMariana Tavares – professora e pesquisadora de cinema – UFMG | MGMediação: Juliana Gusman – curadora Temática Histórica | MG

Modern sports did not just change how people played; they fundamentally rewired how they lived, looked, and identified within a rapidly transforming world. The conversation with Murat Yildiz, an assosciate professor of history at Skidmore College, explores the high-stakes intersection of physical culture, social status, and the 19th-century quest for a new global aesthetic. Elite educational and military institutions utilized gymnastics and disciplined exercise to mold an upwardly mobile generation, using sports to reconfigure traditional social hierarchies. Meanwhile, the rise of photography helped normalize and spread a uniform corporal aesthetic, allowing young men from diverse backgrounds to adopt a standardized look of proper modern masculinity. Tracing a vibrant athletic awakening, the discussion follows how sporting culture rippled across urban centers, from Istanbul to Cairo, Beirut, and Jerusalem, signaling a deeper transformation in community, selfhood, and the shift from indigenous traditions to professionalized international play. 0:00 Introduction 1:39 Misconceptions of Athletics and Modernity 4:07 Professionalism vs. Amateurism in Regional Sporting Culture 8:41 Sports as a Tool for Capturing Urban Diversity 9:17 Educational Reformers and the Significance of Gymnastics 12:47 Sports as a New Modern Technology 18:53 Photography and the Global Corporal Aesthetic 21:56 Visual Normalization of Ethnic and Religious Identities 23:14 Sports and the Creation of New Militaries 26:13 Reconfiguring Class Hierarchies in Elite Schools 30:41 Spreading Western Sports: From Baseball to Soccer 32:21 Tension with Indigenous Traditions: The Case of Wrestling 36:40 Gendering the Ottoman World of Sports 41:04 Tracing the Regional Sports Nahda beyond the Capital 48:07 History as a Creative Conversation with the Past 52:02 Al Abtal Magazine and the Egyptian Physical Culture 56:53 Further Recommendations: Football, Books, and Film 1:01:56 Future Directions for Archival Research Murat C. İBB davasının 38'inci gününde neler yaşandı? Mütalaa'nın bu bölümünde Furkan Karabay ve Fırat Fıstık, etkin pişmanlıktan yararlanan Murat Kapki'nin mahkemedeki savunmasını ve tartışma yaratan iddiaları değerlendirdi. Kapki'nin, savunmasında MASAK raporunda yer alan “kâr-ciro oranı” hesaplamasına ilişkin anlattıkları dikkat çekti. Software Engineering Radio - The Podcast for Professional Software Developers
Murat Erder, CTO for Financial Services at Valtech in Europe, and Eoin Woods, independent consultant in the field of software architecture, join host Giovanni Asproni to talk about Continuous Architecture—an approach to software design where architectural decisions are made and refined continuously throughout the lifecycle of a system, instead of up front in a big design phase. The show starts with a definition of Continuous Architecture and a description of the six principles underpinning it. Following that is an explanation of the main reasons and advantages of this approach, which finishes with some hints on how to get started using it. During the conversation, they explore several key points, including how to empower teams to take architectural decisions and recording those decisions; using feedback loops to refine the architecture; the role of software architects and architectural governance; the importance of focusing on quality requirements; and the impact of artificial intelligence on the field.
