GREIG ROBERTSON spent a fascinating 18 years at the Celtic Academy between 2003 - 2021, working in close quarters with several highly regarded club coaches such as Tommy Burns, Brendan Rodgers and John Kennedy. In nearly two decades within the Academy he played a part in the development of some of Celtic's best known graduates such as Kieran Tierney, James Forrest and current club captain Callum McGregor, and more recently has guided the progress of the latest batch of exciting talent to emerge from Lennoxtown, including now Liverpool star Ben Doak. You don't spend that amount of time with elite level players if you yourself aren't an elite level coach and during his time at Celtic Grieg gained his UEFA Pro Licence as well as a Masters in Performance Coaching. His talents have now taken him to the role of Director of Coaching at Boston Bolts in the US, where he kindly gave up some of his time to discuss his Celtic journey with Tino (Note this episode was originally recorded in Summer 2022). It's an entertaining, enjoyable and insightful discussion on what goes on behind the scenes at Lennoxtown and on what it really takes to make it as a young footballer at Celtic. This is a must listen for fans of Celtic, and for sports fans in general. Enjoy! Last Wednesday, at Celtic's Lennoxtown training complex, I caught up with the mighty Harry Kewell. In part two of our fascinating conversation, we hear how a message from Ange Postecoglou sold Harry on a coaching role at Celtic – despite Ange having once rejected Harry for the Socceroos squad. Harry is brilliant at describing how Ange's combination of simple messaging and human decency influences his footballers. And Harry himself is no slouch at getting inside players' heads. Indeed, World Cup star Daizen Maeda said he's the best educative coach he's worked with. Also in part two: How Klopp's Liverpool can come good again. Hosted on Acast. On Wednesday, at Celtic's Lennoxtown training complex, I caught up with the mighty Harry Kewell, now a coach for the Glasgow giants. When you think of Harry, you picture a footballer of elegance, intelligence, lethal effectiveness. And the great Leeds United side he played in was his perfect domain, surrounded by formidable talents such as Alan Smith, Lee Bowyer, Gary Kelly, Mark Viduka, Michael Bridges, Robbie Keane, Robbie Fowler and not least David Batty. Yet for all their sophistication, those men would battle it out in training – with regular flare-ups, and be willing to go to war for each other come Saturday.Subscribe to The Big Interview YouTube channel Hosted on Acast. Celtic's 38 game unbeaten league run came to a surprising end at the weekend with a 2-0 defeat by St Mirren which absolutely no one seen coming! It was our first loss in the league in almost a full calendar year, and although not a result anyone wanted it may just remind all concerned that there's still work to be done if we're to reach the levels Ange Postecoglou wants to take us. Elsewhere a Champions League stalemate with Shakhtar Donetsk may well prove to be a valuable point with Celtic sitting in a good position in the group if we can take care of both Leipzig and Shakhtar at Celtic Park during October. The players now break for international duty, and whilst for some that provides an opportunity to represent their country, others will benefit from the chance to rest and recuperate at Lennoxtown ahead of a relentless run of fixtures in October. Paddy, Mif & Sinky discuss all of the above and more in this episode of The Celtic Exchange Weekly. -------------------------------- You can now enjoy even more unique Celtic content from us across the month with The Celtic Exchange Plus – our podcast subscription service. It's been a week to forget for Celtic as Ange Postecoglou still searches for his first win after three competitive fixtures. Hearts inflicted a 2-1 defeat on Saturday night following an identical scoreline against FC Midtjylland during the week, and this team must learn quickly to capitalise on the notable possession they've held in each of their fixtures so far. We're now in August yet only three senior additions have been made to the squad in the shape of Liel Abada, Carl Starfelt & Kyogo Furohashi, with the latter two featuring against Hearts having barely met their new team-mates. All should go on to have an impact at the club, but they can't do it alone and they'll be hoping to be joined by several new colleagues in the Lennoxtown cafeteria ASAFP if we're to give ourselves a fighting chance of any success this year. Frustratingly Starfelt and Furohashi only appeared following our Champions League exit and the time for action is now in terms of the board supplying Ange with the additional signings he clearly needs. The last few days of August could already be too late as far as our aspirations for the season are concerned! Next up, a Europa League qualifier away to Jablonec of the Czech Republic on Thursday followed by the visit of newly promoted Dundee at Celtic Park on Sunday where 24,000 fans will be hoping for a quick turnaround in our early season fortunes. Ange took to the mic at Lennoxtown last week and gave us a small insight into his training ground methods and the demands he'll be putting on his players. The mic'd up footage was impressive to see and with each passing day Ange continues to win over the doubters as he gets down to the hard work of preparing for the season ahead. Ultimately he'll be judged by results on the park but so far, so good. Described by his former assistant Arthur Papas as someone who is “obsessed by his work” it seems clear that Ange knows what he wants and with the right backing then he'll be confident of achieving it. The players will now be based in their pre-season training camp in Wales for the next 10 days or so and with two friendly games due to take place there (v Sheffield Wednesday & Charlton Athletic) we'll get a first glimpse of what an Ange Postecoglou Celtic team looks like. New Bhoys Liam Shaw & Osaze Uroghide will be looking to make an impression as well as the much debated Leigh Griffiths as we continue our preparation for the competitive kick off which is now just two weeks away! #TheCelticExchANGE SPONSORED by ParadisePods | TEN10 Podcasts: https://bit.ly/3kAEZuU ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Instagram @thecelticexchangepodcast | Twitter @CeltExchange | Facebook & YouTube All Links @ https://linktr.ee/thecelticexchange

Lulu Kennedy-Cairns, best known as Lulu, is a Scottish singer, actress, television personality and businesswoman. She is noted for her powerful singing voice. She is internationally known, but especially by UK audiences in the 1960s. Later in her career she had hits internationally with "To Sir with Love" from the 1967 film of the same name and with the title song to the 1974 James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. In European countries, she is also widely known for her Eurovision Song Contest 1969 winning entry "Boom Bang-a-Bang", and in the UK for her 1964 hit "Shout", which was performed at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.Lulu was born in Lennoxtown, Stirlingshire, and grew up in Dennistoun, Glasgow, where she attended Thomson Street Primary School and Onslow Drive School. She lived in Gallowgate for a while before moving to Garfield Street, Dennistoun. At the age of 12 or 13, she and her manager approached a band called the Bellrocks seeking stage experience as a singer. She appeared with them every Saturday night: Alex Thomson, the group's bass player, has reported that even then her voice was remarkable. In 1964, under the wing of Marion Massey, she was signed to Decca Records. When she was only fifteen, her version of the Isley Brothers' "Shout", credited to 'Lulu & the Luvvers' and delivered in a raucous but mature voice, peaked at no. 7 on the UK charts. Massey guided her career for more than 25 years, for most of which time they were partners in business, and Massey's husband Mark produced some of Lulu's recordings. After the success of "Shout", Lulu's next charting single was "Leave A Little Love" in 1965, which returned her to the UK Top Ten. Her next record, "Try to Understand", made the Top 40.Later that year she guested on the cover version of the Dan Hartman song "Relight My Fire", with boy band Take That. The single reached no. 1 on the UK Singles Chart and Lulu appeared as Take That's supporting act on their 1994 tour. At this time she also appeared as an unhappy public relations client of Edina Monsoon in two episodes of the BBC television programme Absolutely Fabulous and teamed with French and Saunders many times, including their send up of the Spice Girls (the Sugar Lumps) for Comic Relief in 1997, when she took the role of "Baby Spice", mimicking Emma Bunton. This week I am joined by two of the best football coaches working in Scottish football today - Mr Stevie Woods and Mr John Kennedy. The two gents were generous enough to set aside an hour of their time at Lennoxtown to discuss all things football. They start with a review of their careers, their earliest memories of Celtic and what it felt like to make their pro debuts. We then move on to their current roles as coaches. John dispells the myth that he is just a defensive coach (the team defends and attacks as one unit so apparently there’s no such thing) and Stevie provides an insight into what value a goalkeeping coach adds. The podcast could have lasted another hour so if I didn’t ask your burning question apologies but time ran out. I thoroughly enjoyed it, so did they and i hope you will too. Enjoy…

This week we are bringing you some very special guests - the Celtic management team. Mainly we have a sit down interview with Chris Davies, an insightful chat into his time at Celtic so far, his level of expectation for players and the high standards he and Brendan set. Myself, Celtic Quicknews and ByTheMinCeltic were fortunate enough to get a 45 minute one:one with Chris at Lennoxtown this week. After our chat we were able to sneak into the Brendan press conference for the Inverness game on Wednesday and get some really intersting stuff from the manager. Hopefully you find this as interesting as we did. Enjoy…

Well, it happened. They've put a gag order on the boys. Profanity will only get you so far. The man from the agency said and I quote, 'It's not big and it's not clever'. We'll see. Citizens of the world, rise up and shake off the shackles of oppression. The pursuit of life, love, chocolate fingers and the undeniable right to swear like a docker at low tide is something our ancestors fought for, died for and cursed about. In the mean time, enjoy tales from the cradle of civilisation, the well of inspiration, the ugly but lovely city of Glasgow. With a bit of Lennoxtown and Paisley thrown in. Meet two guys who are shadier than Shady Sadie, the Lampshade seller, Shug and Ned Sed. They will return in episode 6, more profane than ever. To quote that wise philosopher Kevin Costner, If you want it, they will curse.
