On this powerful episode of the Let's Go Win podcast, I sat down with Nate Green, a former cop, bestselling author, serial entrepreneur, and leadership coach who embodies grit, heart, and family-first values. Nate's story is one of brutal lows and unbelievable comebacks: from being paralyzed in his twenties and told he might only live a decade, to walking again, building and selling multiple companies, and now dedicating his life to helping others rise.Key Takeaways:

Unser Gehirn will Fehler vermeiden und hält uns dadurch in alten Mustern gefangen.

Doch was passiert, wenn Alkohol ins Spiel kommt?

Mr. T's Fitcast

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 7, 2025 15:28

Ever catch yourself crushing in business…but low-key running on fumes? Like you're pushing hard, but your body's throwing quiet warnings you can't quite decode? In this episode of The Happy Hustle Podcast, I'm resharing a powerful Guest Guru training from inside The Happy Hustle Club—our private community featuring Justin Roethlingshoefer, Celebrity Health Expert and Founder of Own It Coaching. Justin doesn't sell hacks; he engineers paradigm shifts. His mission: help leaders stop sacrificing health for the mission and start running their bodies like their business.Justin's story is raw and real. As a kid, he battled both obesity and anorexia and even faced liver and kidney failure at 16. That pain turned into purpose: two undergrads, a master's, pro hockey, a doctorate's worth of research on sleep and heart rate variability (HRV), plus deep training in functional medicine and cellular healing. He went on to become Director of Player Performance in the NHL, then stepped away after a personal health scare (precancerous polyps and a bleeding ulcer) to build Own It Coaching with his wife—a 50-person team now guiding 3,500+ high-performing founders and creators. They even built “The Health Haven” in Miami to show people how to live differently, daily. Why it matters: Justin is the rare coach who blends faith, science, and systems so your health outcomes become inevitable, not accidental. Here's what you'll learn in a nutshell:HRV is the language of your body. A higher HRV = better adaptation to stress.Oxygen is step one. VO₂ max isn't just for athletes—it's a wellness vital.Sleep is your detox system. Quality beats quantity.Fix the base before the boosters. Symptoms (low T, poor sleep, brain fog) rarely mean you “need more hormones.” Hormones open pathways; vitamins, minerals, and amino acids create the raw materials.Consistent + intentional behaviors over time = inevitable outcomes. If you're ready to go deeper and hear Justin's full training—the stories, the frameworks, and the practical protocols—hit play on the episode and let's level up your health, leadership, and longevity together. Send us a textRemember when Technology felt like it was meant to make our lives easier? For many Small Business owners today, AI and Automation have become sources of anxiety rather than solutions. Enter Mike Garde, who's on a personal mission to change that narrative.Mike isn't your typical Tech Consultant. With 30 years of Software Engineering experience, he could easily overwhelm you with jargon – but that's precisely what he refuses to do. "I want to democratize AI and automation for small businesses," he shares, explaining how larger Companies have already harnessed these tools while smaller operations remain paralized by complexity.During our conversation, Mike reveals the fascinating personal journey that shaped his approach. Growing up with a mother who battled anxiety and introduced him to positive thinking, and witnessing his father's extraordinary resilience during family tragedy, Mike developed a philosophy of continuously expanding beyond comfortable boundaries. "I've just been doing it so many times now. It's just a natural thing to progress, to push outside the boundaries I may feel confined in at any particular time," he reflects. What truly sets Mike apart is his integration of the "Three Principles" coaching philosophy with practical tech implementation. He sees our perception of technology as fundamentally shaped by our thoughts: "If we're in a good mood, the world looks a better place generally, and same as if we're looking at things with fear, as in AI or anything, the world looks like a more fearful place." This perspective allows him to guide business owners through their tech anxiety toward practical solutions. The highlight of our conversation comes when Mike demonstrates AI in real-time, conducting a conversation with ChatGPT that showcases both the capabilities and limitations of current technology. It's a perfect illustration of his hands-on approach to demystifying these tools.Whether you're a tech enthusiast or someone who breaks into a cold sweat at the mention of artificial intelligence, Mike's insights offer a refreshingly human perspective on our digital future. With nearly two decades of experience across elite sport, the military, and education, Michael shares a refreshingly honest and deeply practical perspective on what it really means to coach athletes through injury and recovery. Whether you're a coach, therapist, or performance practitioner, this episode offers a wealth of real-world insights you can apply immediately. In this episode, you'll learn: Why rehab should be treated as coaching, not just therapy How communication and trust are at the heart of effective injury recovery The mental toll of injury, and how to keep athletes feeling connected and valued Why protocols are useful, but experience and adaptability matter more How to “train around injury” and keep performance progressing The role of environment, load tolerance, and coaching cues in recovery How elite recoveries (like NFL star Aaron Rodgers') can mislead athletes Why Michael teaches his students to “get miles on the soul” through experience How to filter hype, stay objective, and build athlete autonomy Michael's no-nonsense, athlete-first approach is as insightful as it is relatable, combining science, coaching, and a human touch in every decision he makes. About Michael Carolan Michael Carolan is a highly experienced performance coach and academic specialising in sport rehabilitation. He is the Subject Lead and Programme Lead for Sport Rehabilitation at the University of Salford, where he teaches and mentors future practitioners while supporting clinical practice through partnerships with organisations like the PFA and Salford City Council. What do Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James... and astronauts have in common? They're all using the same training technology, blood flow restriction (BFR). In this episode, host Richard Graves back Dr. Warren Bradley, Chief Science Officer and founder of Hytro, to unpack how BFR is transforming the way athletes train, recover, and even how astronauts prepare for life in space. You'll learn: What blood flow restriction actually is, and how it helps build strength, muscle, and endurance faster (with less load on your body). Why BFR is no longer just for injury rehab, and how pro athletes are using it to boost performance and speed up recovery. The science behind why restricting blood flow (safely!) creates powerful training adaptations. How Warren's product ended up on a SpaceX rocket, and why NASA now uses BFR to fight muscle loss in space. Common myths and misconceptions about BFR… including whether it's safe (spoiler: it is, with the right approach). Where BFR is heading next, from grassroots athletes to medical rehab and even everyday gym-goers. Warren also shares his incredible journey, from working in the Premier League to founding a company used by over 260 elite teams worldwide, all the way to collaborating with NASA for space missions. This is one of those episodes that blends cutting-edge science with real-world application. Whether you're a coach, athlete, or just a performance fanatic, this one's a must-listen. Power your attraction with Gatemaster. Discover the future at Gatemaster.com.   Sondra Shannon is the Chief Executive Officer, and Jake Shannon is the Chief Growth Officer of Gatemaster Technology. With decades of combined experience in operations, business strategy, and technology, Sondra and Jake lead a company that has supported attractions for over 30 years. Gatemaster started as a point-of-sale software provider and has evolved into a full-service solutions partner for attractions of all sizes. In this interview, Sondra and Jake talk about performance coaching, revenue strategy, and technology integration. Performance Coaching “Success is your duty to make sure that your business is protected and that you are growing so that you have generations to pass this on to.” Jake shares how his exposure to performance coaching through Grant Cardone led to a transformational shift in both his personal and professional life. After becoming Cardone's top-ranked coach out of 700 worldwide, Jake applied high-performance business principles to Gatemaster, helping nearly double its revenue. Sondra was so inspired by the results that she and COO Tiffany Blair began their own coaching journey to better serve the attractions they work with. They believe that coaching—more than managing—is the key to unlocking growth, developing leaders, and driving revenue across the industry. Revenue Strategy “We increased revenue by $150,000 between March and May with no new capital investment or labor investment—just strategy.” One of the most impactful themes discussed was helping attractions rethink their revenue opportunities by packaging what they already offer in new ways. Sondra explains how creating family bundles, date night deals, and themed packages for a mini-golf client led to a major uptick in revenue with no added cost. By reframing how products are presented and communicating availability clearly (without feeling like an “upsell”), Gatemaster helps clients personalize the guest journey and maximize spend from the first interaction. Technology Integration “We're now asking ourselves all the time—who's got the kind of problems we can help solve, rather than who can I sell this system to?” As a company that's been serving attractions since 1994, Gatemaster combines technical expertise with operator experience. Sondra and Jake explain how the company has evolved beyond traditional software, adding managed services to help clients navigate staffing shortages, tool fatigue, and operational complexity. Their technology is grounded in business logic and human-centered design—something that traces back to founder Steve, a chiropractor who built systems around ergonomic functionality. Jumper's knee is often misunderstood and mismanaged. Rest and ice were traditionally recommended for jumper's knee, but this approach is outdated. Quad strength is crucial for recovery from jumper's knee. Deceleration is a significant factor in developing jumper's knee. Plyometric progressions must be approached carefully to avoid aggravating knee pain. Not all exercises are effective for everyone; individual responses vary. Eccentric loading is essential for tendon health and recovery. Leg extensions can be beneficial but may not work for everyone. There is no magical exercise for knee pain; a comprehensive approach is necessary. Sissy squats can be more effective than leg extensions. Eccentric loading is crucial for knee rehabilitation. Isometric exercises can help with jumper's knee recovery. Athletes often need to reduce sport-specific activities to heal. Pain management requires honest conversations with athletes. Frequency of training can impact recovery from knee injuries. Achilles injuries require careful management and progression. Partial tears in tendons can be challenging to rehabilitate. Cultural attitudes towards pain vary among athletes.
