Michael speaks with Kaitlyn Young (aka the Llamagirl) about childhood trauma, the Fear of Living and how she is helping others.Hi everyone, I am Kaitlyn Young. I am a llama loving, nerdy, God fearing and unique individual that has struggled in the past like many.I have always wanted a real opportunity to help others, and I thought my battles with depression, anxiety, and body image would hold me back from being who I was called to be!Those deep rooted battles would have me hopping from one "job" opportunity to the next. I have been in; retail, manufacturing, door to door, and more, just existing every day and living for the weekend. Then I found an opportunity with a mentor whose values aligned with my own. I started to deep dive into the work he was doing, and through his help I was able to crush through the barriers that were holding me back.Helping others, through working with "The Mind Ninja" was an opportunity to lead others to the same freedom I have found in myself, and opened the door to me owning my own business as well! Joelene Lavrick was a classroom teacher who now works with primary school-aged children (in person and online in seventy-four countries!) to improve their emotional health and manage their mind. Her program (Mind Ninja) was designed to help kids build confidence and self-esteem, understand, manage and reduce anxiety, learn to be mindful, improve social interactions, understand the feelings of others and to be ‘present'. Apart from the obvious messages (around helping and empowering kids), there's also an equally interesting story in this episode about a woman (who still suffers from anxiety), with no business background and limited confidence, who turned an idea in her head and a passion in her heart into, not only a valuable service, but also a thriving and growing business.
