AIE News Community Mandatory Fun Nights Where the fun is mandatory but the attendance is not. A couple of games have moved days so make sure you double check when each game is running MFN. NOMADS AIE in The Division 2. The Clan is doing well and having a lot of fun in the game. We're rank 17 (out of 30) with 27 members total. The first post-launch content update was released this past Friday and unlocks the new World Tier 5 that features the latest Stronghold: Tidal Basin. Also, the first "Apparel Event" titled "Invasion" is running until May 2nd. During this time you can earn up to 30 apparel items. Should you earn them all during the event you'll be awarded a special apparel item: The Black Tusk uniform. These 30 items will be available in the usual apparel caches and store after the event, but you can only earn the special Black Tusk uniform during the event. Apparel items include clothing, weapon skins, and emotes. The first raid, an 8 player activity, will go live on April 25th, later this month and our clan members are eagerly awaiting it. Get in and gear up now. Ask about the game in AIE Discord's #thedivision2 text channel. Receiving an invite is as simple as asking for one there for your UPlay ID. You can also look up the clan, "AIE Nomads", and request an invite that way. WoW The AIE Alliance guild is growing with 119 characters currently. Reminder, you just need to submit an application in Umami, leave the Faction as Horde and the officers will correct it when reviewing the application. Don't worry about the level either, just race/class and name and you're set. We are still having issue with gmail accounts, so check the LFO channel for acceptance, as the officers will announce when they've accepted those applications. In game news, the Artifact Knowledge ramp up will continue for the next 4 weeks to make sure everyone is ready for the 8.2 content. A number of players have reached level 50 on their necklace and currently you do not get anything for completing WQ's that award just azerite. Patch 8.2 is soon to be on the PTR (encrypted currently) and several outlets have had interviews with Ion Hazzikostas on what's to come, mostly around systems, flying and very little on content spoilers. WoWHead and MMO-Champion both have good write-ups and links to the originals, though, be warned,
Technically PVP Show Notes Episode 66 - More Blizzcon News Upcoming WoW PVP Events Resurgent ESB Monday Fight nights WOW PVP NEWS There were a couple 1v1 tournaments on the Classic Demo server! :) https://challonge.com/StaysafeTV https://challonge.com/zao4cs8f Forums are getting a redo: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/breaking/22764995 Subject of Analysis Blizzcon Dev Interviews There are no plans for improvements on PvP gearing, the dev team wants to see the 8.1 changes on the PvE side in action first before coming up with anything for PvP Free for All PvP Quests are scheduled to make a return in Nazjatar. Wintergrasp is coming back as an Epic Battleground! The Island Expedition's AI was improved to more likely behave like players and be used in Battlegrounds. Just like players, the AI likes to jump a lot! PvP Warfronts are currently not planned, but it is an idea the dev team discusses consistently. PvP Zone Objectives (like the PvP towers in Terokkar Forest) are scheduled to make an appearance in Nazjatar For Tides of Vengeance, the team is working on reviewing the state of abilities added to the GCD and many movement abilities will likely be removed from it. Since revamps for Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch were announced, we were curious if Alterac Valley would receive a similar revamp. No plans at the current time. Maybe something to get around to later on. WSG and AB are more compact so you see more at once. They are also two popular battlegrounds and part of the Rated Battleground rotation. What about Ashenvale getting an update now that Warsong Gulch has one? Overall win rates in random battlegrounds are "shockingly even." Epic battlegrounds tend to favor Alliance and the other battlegrounds skew a bit more in the Horde's favor. The ratio seems of win rates is about 54% Horde and 46% Alliance, not including Rated Battlegrounds. The amount of players who utilize War Mode currently skew towards Horde. In Tides of Vengeance, the team is looking into offering some kind of increased rewards for the less-represented faction in War Mode, so the risk and reward are better calibrated. Ion suspects that many Alliance players had bad experiences in War Mode in the beginning of the expansion and have turned off War Mode because of it. The purpose of increased awards is to make up for the risk of being killed by the opposite faction, but they want to keep this on equal grounds, and their hope is that increasing the rewards of the less represented faction will encourage more people to activate War Mode when their faction is at a disadvantage. Ion admits that Berserking is a bit too powerful of a racial ability for some classes and this is why it is receiving a small nerf. Historically, PvP servers have always been more Horde-favored. It might have to do with player identity in the game, such as wanting to be something battle-hardened like an orc. Blizzard is also keeping an eye on class and specialization appearance rates in PvP combat. https://www.mmo-champion.com/content/8158-Enhancement-Shaman-PTR-Changes-Forbes-Eurogamer-Interviews-Podcast-Interviews Including a Forbes interview with Ion about PVP: https://www.forbes.com/sites/hnewman/2018/11/07/blizzard-working-to-balance-warcrafts-alliance-and-horde-players-in-war-mode-raiding/#5e4361df3c18 What’s next panel https://www.wowhead.com/news=288351/blizzcon-2018-world-of-warcraft-whats-next-panel CDew streams a review of the Blizzcon games and told his secrets https://youtu.be/1TWvmhhdGAs Trivia question Previous episode question was: What is the name of the pandaren racial trait that reduces falling damage? Convert to Raid Presents: The podcast for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Games!
This week, the guys are joined by Jules Scott from Tauren Think Tank! World of Warcraft PvP developer Brian Holinka made an appearance during the NA Arena Qualifier for Blizzcon to talk about the upcoming changes for PvP in WoW’s next expansion. One of the big reveals was that player stats will be based on the character’s specialization firstly, not their gear. That in conjunction with other changes should allow Blizzard more power to tune PvP than ever before without affecting PvE. The flying patch was NOT released this week, but MMO-Champion.com did parse the numbers for flying achievements on 2 million current players. The numbers don’t reflect a real drive for players to fly in Draenor. Could it be that this patch is coming too late in the expansion, or is there really no need to fly in WoD? Also, Reddit goes crazy over last week’s show, the Blizzcon goodie bag is revealed, Diablo, Heroes and Hearthstone make the Battlenet News, and one news article asks the question: Does Blizzard need World of Warcraft anymore? Plus, more on the Well Played Party at Blizzcon, your questions and more!
Designers also gave some of their notes and insights on how they approached the encounters from a design perspective, which is a very cool twist! MMO-Champion released the latest raiding statistics for Blackrock Foundry. And while the health of raiding overall looks great, is there too large of a gap between heroic difficulty and mythic? The guys will give you the breakdown inside this episode. The Q&A with Lead Game Designer Ion Hazzikostas was pushed back a week to make room for a Heroes of the Storm lifestream event, and players erupted online. The CtR crew takes a look at some of the issues Warcraft players are facing right now, including the fact that WoW has to share the spotlight with some of the new Blizzard IPs. Because it looks like we’re heading into a new age of Blizzard Entertainment, CtR tries out a new segment! The Battlenet News takes a look at the big headlines from other Blizzard games. This week, the CtR crew has the latest on what’s happening in WoW — so buckle up! Blackrock Foundry Raid Finder Wing 4 was released this week, and experiences were varied. While some groups struggled, others breezed through in minutes to make this one of the shorter raid content releases in Warlords of Draenor. What makes for some of the differences, and what can you do to help make this a smooth fight for everyone? The WoW Token is coming soon™ according to Blizzard, and with the latest patch have created a WoW Token area in the Auction House user interface. Though it’s not live yet, once trading begins you’ll be able to purchase a token for $20 USD. But what will the selling price be? MMO-Champion.com released more raiding stats direct from the WoW Armory to examine completion rates of raids in Warlords. How does this compare with raiding in Siege of Orgrimmar and other past raids? Are we seeing a growing trend in the end game? Convert to Raid Presents: The podcast for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Games!
The guys are back with a brand new show in the brand new year! Over the break, the last boss of the Highmaul raid was released in the Looking for Raid difficulty. Did LFR live up to the promise of Blizzcon 2013 as being “tourist mode,” or were there unexpected results? The CtR crew weighs in, and Dairies response may surprise you! Patch 6.1 hits the test realms, and the data mining has already gone deep! The guys will give you some of the big highlights, which include a Legendary garrison follower, a couple of new toys, a new mount, and more. Blackrock Foundry is also set to release around the time 6.1 should be hitting live servers in late February. How does the timing compare to that of Mists of Pandaria, and what do we know about this new schedule for raid releases? The 10th Anniversary events wrap up this week, but how have they been received? MMO-Champion.com released some statistics over the break, and the players will give you the low down. Will we see more content like this in the future, and was there a point that Blizzard was trying to prove during these events? Plus, Ghostcrawler tweets about WoW, Blizzard hotfixes may save the game, a lonely panda hits level 95, and a whole lot more in this week’s return of Convert to Raid!
On this episode of The AIE Podcast... The triumphant return of the Guildie of the Month! Did you see that trailer? Garrisons, Garrison, Garrisons! Have you preordered the Shadows of Revan yet? Abovan is here to talk about Final Fantasy All that and more coming up right now... Podcast Audio Raw Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y2IqoOkq2k AIE General Guildie of the Month - AIE would like to congratulate our Guildie of the Month for December: Thuggs of AIE WoW! For those of you who do not know, Thuggs coordinated an event in World of Warcraft that helped over 130 people obtain a special weapon from the final boss of Mists of Pandaria, Garrosh Hellscream. This weapon, called an Heirloom, levels with the player up to 100. It is also transferable to alts. AIE's Guildie of the Month program is our way to acknowledge outstanding members in our community. If you know someone who you think deserves to be recognized please send an email to officers@aie-guild.org (we are in the process of getting a new email set up, will update that as new arises). Nominations for January's GotM will be accepted until December 13th, 2014. This is a guild wide program, nominations will be accepted for members from any game division. Regardless of whether you're a fan of the franchise or not, it's hard to deny the impact the Star Wars movies have had on the world. Last week, Lucasfilm announced the next movie in the series, Episode 7 The Force Awakens, will hit the screen on December 18th, 2015. They also published a teaser trailer, which spread across the Internet like wildfire. http://www.starwars.com/films/star-wars-episode-vii-the-force-awakens Zod Step-down announcement AIE World of Warcraft One of the coolest new feature of Warlords of Draenor is undoubtedly the Garrisons- and Thoribas on the forums was kind enough to post some great info from MMO Champion about highly useful ad-ons, Master Plan and Garrison Mission Manager. Having issues with level up followers because as soon as one follower hit 100, all missions became level 99-100? Blizzard has hot fixed the mission set up to create three brackets 90-94, 95-99, and 100. Each bracket can have 3-6 missions as long as you have a follower in that bracket. Thanks to Miy on the forums for letting us know. With membership spiking to 10 Million for World of Warcraft, AIE has seen a major influx of new and returning players thanks to Warlords- the WOW officers request your continued patience as we manage the queue. AIE EVE Online Lanctharus would like to remind all EVE players to sign up for Fleet-up. Fleet-up is the service they use to schedule corporation operations, which you can sync to your favorite desktop or mobile app, and give fleet commanders easy ways to prepare for and review missions, see what kinds of content the team can handle, see how they can improve, and more. If you're playing EVE and not in Fleet-up, you are missing out on a lot. And if you're not playing EVE,CCP released a video last week that might draw you into it. The video is called “This is EVE”, and shows off some of the high points of the game. Shot entirely in game and voiced by actual players carrying out missions, it's a pretty thrilling look at what goes on in the deep dark recesses of space. If you haven't seen it, we'll have a link in the show notes, and there's a link to it in the AIE EVE forums. AIE SWTOR We will have Max on next week to tell us more, but the all new expansion, Star Wars, The Old Republic: Shadows of Revan drops on December 9th- and your last chance to preorder for all of the goodies is Tomorrow! Bonuses include a Subscriber Exclusive Class XP bonus, as well as a grand statue of Revan for your Stronghold. There is a great discussion on the forums around what changes to expect with 3.0, particularly around the new commendation conversion and caps. And with that, let's get back to (Abovan) and find out what's going on in (Final Fantasy)... GAME NEWS FFXIV Fan fest
Convert to Raid Presents: The podcast for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Games!
It’s been well over a year since our last new raid in WoW, and the CtR crew cannot wait until the Highmaul raid opens on Tuesday (Dec. 2)! So the guys have a special introduction to all of the new bosses and what you might be able to expect when you meet them for the first time. Patch 6.0.3 landed this week, and there were a number of fixes and changes in Blizzard’s first attempt for better class balance this expansion. The gang will go over some of the bigger spell changes and talk about how it might affect your play. Also, more tips and tricks for your Garrisons, early WoD stats from MMO-Champion, the new Blood Elf character models, and more on another fun-filled episode!
On this episode of Azeroth Roundtable Ben and Jon are joined by Kevin from the Darkmoon Herald. They talk about carnie pants, button bloat, and Ben goes slightly senile about Mogushan Vaults! News: Tiers sets shown on MMO Champion.
Convert to Raid Presents: The podcast for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Games!
This week, Blizzard banned a TON of accounts (unofficial numbers in the hundreds of thousands) for botting programs that enhance gameplay, and some WoW players were caught in the crossfire. The CtR crew explains how these third party programs work, and what other programs may have been suspect. But was Blizzard biting the hand that feeds them, or is their tolerance for cheaters really that low? Ion Hazzikostas announced that Blizzard is pretty happy with the bonus roll system for loot that was developed in Mists of Pandaria, but are you? Are there improvements to be made, or do the limitations feel appropriate? The human female artwork revamp was released this week, and Koltrane explains why Blizzard should think about clothing their models, and why his coworkers are avoiding him at the water cooler. More raiding stats were released this week from MMO-Champion about class popularity in heroic Siege of Orgrimmar, and the CtR crew weeds through the data to get to the important stuff. Plus, the Warcraft movie finishes its first week of filming, the CtR Guild anniversary celebration wraps up, the guys answer your questions and more in this exciting episode!
Convert to Raid Presents: The podcast for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Games!
This week the guys have plenty to talk about as everyone from Blizzard seems to have finally come back from the winter break! More raiding stats are unleashed on the internet as MMO-Champion takes a look at heroic progression. Only 0.23% of active raiders have downed heroic Garrosh, but what does that mean in the scheme of things? Blizzard’s Lead Encounter Designer Ion Hazzikostas joined Twitter this week and had plenty to say about some of the upcoming plans (or lack thereof) for the future of raiding. But is short form social media a good thing for players looking to glean some insight, or is it all too much noise for the average consumer? Hazzikostas did state via Twitter that there were no plans for a raid-wide nerf in Siege of Orgrimmar. The players discuss whether (and when) they think it’s going to come, and how big of an influence Flex Raids are in the equation. Also, with the flexible raiding system and the proposed Group Finder tool for Warlords, where does LFR fit in the next expansion? The guys tell you their reasons why Blizzard needs to nerf this feature even further in the future. And… Convert to Raid is covering PvP news? Sure! Afterall, the announcement of a new PvP season could point to when the next expansion may drop. The crew updates their calendars and make new predictions based off the latest information. And Pat, Koltrane and Dairies wrap up last week’s segment on how to be a better raid leader for 2014 with some more advice on communication and taking a look at different loot systems around the World of Warcraft.
--A couple of guys in China are imprisoned for 2 years for hacking, and their names are ironic. --MMO-Champion loves graphs! --Extended Guardian of the Forums because THERE'S NOTHING ELSE WORTH TALKING ABOUT. Convert to Raid Presents: The podcast for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Games!
This week, the guys are back for another look at the latest buzz in the WoW community! The Warcraft movie announced some of their cast members this week including Rob Kazinski, who claims to have a huge WoW background and plays a mean DK. How important is it for our crew that the cast and crew of the movie play World of Warcraft? Is there a meaningful difference to us if these guys are fans of the movie magic they’re producing? Armory Stats show (as reported by MMO-Champion) that raiding numbers in Mists of Pandaria have dropped steadily over the expansion, with only 10% of raiders completing Siege of Orgrimmar. Has the luster of raiding worn off, is the pain and toxicity of LFR too much for players to handle, or is it just a matter of time before those numbers start climbing again? It was Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street’s last day last week, so how can we welcome the newest guy (Celestalon) to the forefront of the Blizzard community? By blaming him, of course… for everything! Raegwyn is back at downing bosses all by himself, and recently he took on (and defeated) Dark Animus in 10 man normal. Find out how he did it, and what other encounters we should expect being soloed soon! Could Blizzcon be changing for the future? The Blizzcon follow up survey from this year certainly alludes that could be, possibly even splitting the panels from esports. The guys break down how it could happen All that, plus there are a ton of viewer questions in the mail bag, so Pat, Koltrane and Dairies give you their insights on your questions!
