Marzec 2026 w branży gier to emocjonalny rollercoaster, w którym radosne piski fanów Nintendo mieszają się z płaczem portfeli użytkowników PlayStation. Podczas gdy Capcom otwiera szampana, świętując rekordową sprzedaż Resident Evil Requiem, Sony postanawia „uczcić” ten sukces podwyżką cen PS5 Pro i Portala, tłumacząc to „wartością dodaną” technologii PSSR 2.0. To gęsty, trudny i pełen skrajności odcinek, w którym bilans długu Handlarza z RE4 okazuje się jedynym zabawnym akcentem w morzu biznesowej bezwzględności.(00:00:00) - START!(00:00:57) - Rozgrzewka

It's a nightmare scenario: you're surrounded by world-class talent and burning through a budget in the 10s of millions, yet the game feels further away from shipping than ever . In this episode, Ben reacts to Lex Fridman's interview with Jeff Kaplan (former Overwatch Director) as they break down the "multifaceted failure" of Blizzard's Project Titan . We dive deep into the "hubris" that kills AAA projects, why "anticipatory hiring" is a trap, and the brutal courage it takes to tell your CEO to shut a project down. There really isn't any company out there like Blizzard Entertainment. In a world devoid of third places, World of Warcraft, Starcraft II, and Diablo 4 have become that for very, very many people-- including Buddy and Mango. So, in a world where Jeff Kaplan gives his five and a half hour interview to Lex Friedman charting the course of those early days, and Jason Shrier published a book called Play Nice all about those backroom politics, the question becomes: What do two people living and breathing in these worlds think of all that? It's probably one of the most important video game companies in the world and to us. After over a year of silence, Starfield's newest wave of content is here. The Dukes got to see things running behind the scenes and get a feel for Bethesda's new vision for the sci-fi RPG. It appears they're gearing up for more incremental updates rather than swinging in with a massive expansion pack each year. Between the Free Lanes update, Terran Armada, and the PlayStation 5 version, there's much for us to go over. Perhaps more of the hot button topic is what is transpiring within AI. This time, it arrives in the form of DLSS 5 and to say there was backlash would be an understatement. The sizzle reel that showed off this new technology on the likes of Starfield, Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evil Requiem, and the like was openly mocked, reaching beyond the games industry. In fairness, some are hopeful that this technology could lead to better looking, cheaper games. Can it? Well, pull up a chair, friend. We have much to discuss. This week on Xbox Expansion Pass, we're tackling one of the biggest shifts in Xbox's modern era. Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5 on April 7—launching alongside its largest update yet (Free Lanes) and the paid Terran Armada DLC. We break down pricing, Game Pass differences, what's included, and the bigger question: what does this mean for Xbox as a platform going forward? We also dive into Crimson Desert, now live with massive player numbers but mixed early impressions. Is this the next big open-world hit—or a game players are struggling to connect with? From there, we zoom out into the bigger picture: The rising cost of gaming hardware and subscriptions Game Pass pricing, value, and where the ceiling might be Project Helix and Xbox's future across console, PC, and handheld New industry insights from Jeff Kaplan on Blizzard leadership Why new IP like Crimson Desert faces such a steep uphill climb This is a big-picture episode—less about headlines, more about where the industry is heading and how Xbox fits into it.

Liz Patt took a spin in the hosting chair for the first time this week, with Joe and Liz and Cory on board to keep her on her toes. The raid schedule for Midnight is enough to keep anyone on their toes, not to mention Mythic dungeons, Delves, and ABUNDANCE. Not everyone is a fan of ABUNDANCE, for technical reasons, though it's been adjusted a bit to try to cut down on the lag. If that wasn't enough, we also have a ton of new information about patch 12.0.5, including a Dave the Diver-like spearfishing adventure. With Liz Patt hosting, the Diablo franchise was given its due, with season 12 starting, and more information about Lord of Hatred. The crew is bemused at another step Diablo 4 is taking to be more like Diablo 3, which actually has a seasonal rollover coming soon. They remembered to flick the drinky bird.We also had some indie news. The Subnautica 2 lawsuit just wrapped, and the details are so, so stupid. We also talked a bit about former Overwatch developer Jeff Kaplan's new project, The Legend of California. We're also excited to see what dinoflask makes of the announcement of the open world western, and Jeff's 10 hour long "development and chill" stream. If you have a few minutes, please fill out our survey to tell us what you think about the podcast. In today's Daily Fix:Former Overwatch boss Jeff Kaplan has some advice for gamers who complain about games they'll never play: 'Shut the f*** up. No one cares.' The harsh words came during a 10-hour livestream showcasing his new project, The Legend of California, a first-person survival game set during California's Gold Rush period. In other news, Capcom's Resident Evil Requiem is now the franchise's fastest-selling game, with now 6 million copies sold since its launch in late Febrary. And finally, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight's release date has been moved up, from May 29 to May 22. This release window was previously taken up by Grand Theft Auto 6, which was delayed to later this year.
Let's talk about Jeff Kaplan exposing the savage layoffs threat that finally made him quit Blizzard -- in his first interview in five years with Lex Fridman, the Overwatch creator admitted the CFO hit him with insane revenue targets and warned if they missed "we're gonna lay off 1,000 people and that's gonna be on you." Kaplan called it the biggest "F-you moment" of his entire career -- it broke him so bad he walked away from the dream job because no one wants mass firings pinned directly on their head like some corporate scapegoat.Watch the podcast episodes on YouTube and all major podcast hosts including Spotify.CLOWNFISH TV is an independent, opinionated news and commentary podcast that covers Entertainment and Tech from a consumer's point of view. The system is designed to play both Xbox and PC games, promises major improvements in ray tracing performance, and is being built in partnership with AMD. Early alpha versions are expected to reach developers in 2027, hinting that the next generation of Xbox may still be a few years away.We also discuss Microsoft's upcoming “Xbox mode” for Windows 11, which will transform PCs into a controller-friendly, full-screen console experience - similar to Steam's big picture mode. And finally, former Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan finally explains why he left Blizzard after nearly two decades, citing financial pressures and more. Finally, we wrap things up with What We're Playing, sharing the games that have been keeping us busy lately.
