Neo and Toons are back to give you the latest looks in the world of Blizzard Entertainment. The Diablo this season hasn't been as fruitful as usual, with most of the season based on Necromancing. They already knew that way in advance, it doesn't mean they didn't play anyway. Toons has been taking a break playing some Warframe as of late, while Neo is still missing some pieces to make his Demon Hunter a little more playable for his usual style. In the world of Heroes of the Storm they cover some Garrosh, who always manages to get banned in Hero League. Speaking of Hero League, one of your hosts currently thinks that Hero League sucks and they may be done with it. Rounding it out is Overwatch and a lot of skin talk and how Lucio Ball is Neo's favorite, which is actually true. Send a mail in to lootshootlane@ninjapancake.com with some of your Blizzard thoughts, your hosts dig that sort of thing. Catch ya next time.

We’re back after a week of illness and….dunging?! We give our initial impressions of the content to this point, and what we’re doing after level 100. Our discussion topic: I’ve been playing Horde for many expansions, but after reading some of the backstory of what Garrosh did to the Night Elves, I can’t play my Horde characters anymore! What can I do? Our advice question of the week: I have mental and physical disabilities, and my mother blames all of my problems on WoW and other games. After talking all about professions and planning your buildings on your Garrison last week, this week I focus on the last minute details you'll need to make your Launch Week a success. Tune in as I talk about the importance of levelling profession alts, and the breakpoints you need to know about to maximize your Cooldowns, and your goldmaking in your first days in Draenor.I realize that this show has a lot of information that I cover in a relatively short amount of time. So, to save you the hand cramps, I'm including my show notes below the break - Enjoy!Episode 29 of Late Nite With Stede - Show NotesIntroGood evening, ladies and gentlemen and welcome to Episode 29 of the Late Nite With Stede Goldmaking Podcast. I’m your host, Stede Bonnet - and I want to thank you for listening. Before begin our last show of Mists of Pandaria, I wanna take a minute to let you know that you can find more Late Nite With Stede on our website - www.LNWS.net - you can also find the show on Stitcher & on iTunes - so if you like the show, be sure to subscribe. Alright, today is Sunday, November 9th===PODCAST NEWS===- Last week we had a quick show that talked about which “extra” profession buildings were best in terms of goldmaking. Most were around the middle of the pack, but there was at least 1 big loser and a few familiar winners. So if you missed that show or you have no idea what I’m talking about - I think it’d be worth your while to go back and check out Episode 28.We’ve covered an awful lot of ground in the last 7 episodes of the show - all the way to a garrisons overview to a deep dive through every single primary profession to ratings and rankings of goldmaking potential for each one and their associated garrison buildings. It’s taken a lot of research and digging - particularly since I did not have any access to the beta. So if you’ve managed to follow me through all of that - lemme just say thanks :)-This week, I’ve got another great show for you guys. A lot of the info I’m gonna talk about has been out there for awhile now - it’s just not the easiest thing in the world to corral it all in one place. But it has been done - on The Consortium Forums, in the General Discussion Forum, my fellow Wind Trader, UtesDad has written a great guide to Garrisons for the Goblin. It complements the information I’ve been going through lately. It’s great timing that this came out just this weekend because it goes along with tonight’s topic perfectly. Because tonight, we’re gonna talk about getting your garrisons setup as quickly and efficiently as possible at launch.===WoW NEWS===No WoW news this week - we’re all locked in tight for Warlords of Draenor.===Goldmaking NEWS===Only thing noteworthy I picked up this week came from Blizzcon. I’d previously thought Spirit only rolled on rings & necklaces. Turns out it can roll on cloaks, too. So I expect Tailors and Leatherworkers to be using or selling those reroll tokens so healers can get their Spirit stats on those crafted cloaks.TOPIC: How to Plan Your Launch WeekendAs I mentioned a few minutes ago, UtesDad has a great guide on The Consortium’s General Discussion forum that I recommend you all take some time to go read. You can find the forums at www.STORMSPIRE.net.Scalable SystemsSo, let’s get started and set the stage. We know that damn near everything worth making in Warlords is gonna require daily cooldown materials. What we’re all worried about is the new cooldown system. In expansions past, alts were able to pop cooldowns without ever having to leave the safety and comfort of their capital cities. As long as you fed your little alts they were happy to get pet once a day and do their job printing gold. In Warlords, they flipped the script on us. You want to grind your professions to max level in Orgrimmar or *god forbid* Stormwind? Fuhgiitabowtit. You can’t even unlock the max cap on professions without going into Draenor and questing. So dust off those alts, get em all levelled to 90, and get some gear on em, because Warlords of Draenor demands that profession alts get Savage. On top of that, the cooldowns on your alts now yield more materials as you level that toon to 100. At level 90, your yield is 4, but at level 100, the yield is 10. So there’s a big difference in how quickly you’re able to craft items and also in terms of how much it’s going to cost you to make the cooldown materials needed to craft an item.In addition to the Scaling Cooldowns on your toon, we also have cooldowns on our Garrison Buildings in the form of Work Orders. You can Queue these up and they tick off once every 4 hours - at the start, they give you 1 extra cooldown material every tick - for a total of 6 extra per day. But, once your building gets to L2, then you can assign a follower to work at the building. If that follower has the corresponding skill for the building - like Blacksmithing for a Forge - he can occasionally net you an extra CD material on one of these Work Order ticks. In addition, as you level the follower to L100, the likelihood of getting that extra CD material goes up. At full tilt, it’s been said that you can snag 20 CD mats a day between your toon and your Garrison Building.BreakpointsSo given all of this, it’s most important to understand where the breakpoints are in these Scalable Systems. Breakpoints may have been removed for Haste, but they’re very much alive in Goldmaking.#1 - Level 90 Bunker BuilderSetting up your Garrison is one of the first things you do after getting through the first zone in Darenor. You’ll be able to build just a single profession building, and you won’t be able to get it past Level 1. But - you will be able to start the clock on the passive generation of Garrison Resources - which will be a very important step. Every building you make on your Garrison costs GR - and you only get so many at a time. You can build the Medium building - the Lumber Mill - which will help you acquire GR faster through Active Play - BUT - you can’t build that until you hit ~L92 and are able to level your Garrison up to L2.With the passive GR generation started, and one of your professions now able to give you 6 more CD mats per day, this becomes your first very important breakpoint in levelling. #2 - Level 92 Second Stage Fort FarmerClose to L92 is when we can expect to unlock the upgrade to a Level 2 Garrison. This allows you to build a 2nd profession building, and a Medium Building - Like a Barn or a Lumber Mill. You still won’t be able to level any of these buildings up to L2, but you will be able to get the extra CD mats from your 2nd profession building. And if you’re building a Barn, you’ll be able to start getting Work Orders done as progress towards unlocking the L3 plans, which currently take 3 weeks to unlock running at full blast from the time you start. Remember - you need an L3 Barn in order to harvest Savage Blood. In addition, at L92, your Garrison unlocks the Mine, allowing you to farm ore every day, regardless of whether you are a miner.#3 - Level 96 Kicking it up a Notch At Level 96, things get interesting. You’re able to start upgrading your profession buildings to L2, which will also allow you to start assigning Followers to those buildings, giving you a chance to snag extra CD mats from your Work Orders. Also, at L96, you unlock the Garden on your Garrison, allowing you to farm herbs every day on your Garrison regardless of whether you are an herbalist.#4 - Level 98 - Kicking it up Another NotchAt L98, you unlock the L2 Plans for your Medium Buildings. This is important for anyone who is building a Barn, as this upgrade allows you to create the most powerful Feasts using your Barn’s Work Order system.#5 - Level 100 The Final GoalAt Level 100, you’re able to level your Garrison to L3. This unlocks your 3rd profession building, along with your 2nd Medium building and 2nd Large Building. It also unlocks the ability to take your Large Buildings to L3. You’re also unable to level any individual buildings to L3 until your Garrison is L3.Other Important Things to RememberIn the past, skipping to the next zone as soon as you ding was beneficial. But in Draenor, the Bonus Objectives of each zone grant a LOT of experience, and are generally worth sticking around to finish. In addition, certain quest lines will reward you with followers, which are going to be very helpful as you level your Garrison. We also are able to build Garrison Outposts in certain zones that have an effect on gameplay. While these are mostly up to you, I want to mention that you will want to Build the Brewery in Spires of Arak, in order to be rewarded with a Skinning Follower for your Barn after completing later quests.DiscussionAs I mentioned, this information is all out there - thankfully - Since I don’t have beta access, I wouldn’t know about it otherwise. But let’s talk about what that means. Each and every one of you, I’m sure, has a different stable of toons and professions. A different timeline. Different goals. So, I’m going to just tell you what I think in terms of my setup. While I have nine L90s ready to go, I’m choosing to focus on what I call my CORE 6 to start. These six are toons I enjoy playing, and they collectively give me full coverage of all the primary professions - including gathering.I have assigned them an order in which to level them to 100, based on what materials their CDs will eat. The idea being that if I balance my materials needs between Ore and Herbs, I can mostly service my own needs through hitting my Garrison’s mine and garden. Now, eventually I’ll get all six of these to L100, but the important thing to me is to get my Passive Garrison Resource generation going, as well as unlock my initial Cooldowns & Work Orders. I’ve taken off work for Launch Day & the day after - it helps that Friday is my Birthday, so I can tell the Boss I wanna take off for my Birthday - she’s not much of a gamer. Now, I’m not going batshit insane or anything. I’m sleeping Wednesday night, waking up at 7:30, and starting my adventures in Draenor at 8am with my brother and my other guildies who are online. I’ll be playing a lot, but regular meals, showering, spending time in the evenings with my wife, etc - I’m still gonna do all that. This gives me about 12 solid hours a day to do my own thing with WoW - though I’m leaving half of it open on Sunday for The Walking Dead, Homeland, and of course, recording & editing another episode of Late Nite With Stede. So in the other ~40 hours, I wanna balance Goldmaking potential with personal progress on my main. I plan to get all my CORE 6 to Garrison L2 with their 2 main profession buildings built. I’d also like my main to get to L100. I think these are feasible breakpoints to hit in the first weekend. After that, I’ll likely get my remaining CORE to L96 and unlock the Garden and their 3rd profession building. And once that’s done, I’ll start taking them to L100. For me, those are the biggest breakpoints.Timing is EverythingWe’ve heard that folks were levelling 90-100 on the beta in less than 5 hours. The general consensus is that it was easily achievable for anybody who had their act together in

While this has been an issue for awhile, now is the time to make some adjustments to ensure that the difficulty between 10 and 25 is better aligned. The Challenge Mode dungeon “season” is ending soon, according to Blizzard. But did anyone ever tell the general public that this was a “season” in the first place? Why did Blizzard pull the plug? How have players been reacting to the news, and how can Blizzard improve on this scaled 5 man content in Warlords? And finally, reported just before this show recorded, patch 5.4.7 should be landing this week in the World of Warcraft! Convert to Raid Presents: The podcast for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Games!
This week the guys have plenty to talk about as everyone from Blizzard seems to have finally come back from the winter break! More raiding stats are unleashed on the internet as MMO-Champion takes a look at heroic progression. Only 0.23% of active raiders have downed heroic Garrosh, but what does that mean in the scheme of things? Blizzard’s Lead Encounter Designer Ion Hazzikostas joined Twitter this week and had plenty to say about some of the upcoming plans (or lack thereof) for the future of raiding. But is short form social media a good thing for players looking to glean some insight, or is it all too much noise for the average consumer? Hazzikostas did state via Twitter that there were no plans for a raid-wide nerf in Siege of Orgrimmar. The players discuss whether (and when) they think it’s going to come, and how big of an influence Flex Raids are in the equation. Also, with the flexible raiding system and the proposed Group Finder tool for Warlords, where does LFR fit in the next expansion? The guys tell you their reasons why Blizzard needs to nerf this feature even further in the future. And… Convert to Raid is covering PvP news? Sure! Afterall, the announcement of a new PvP season could point to when the next expansion may drop. The crew updates their calendars and make new predictions based off the latest information. And Pat, Koltrane and Dairies wrap up last week’s segment on how to be a better raid leader for 2014 with some more advice on communication and taking a look at different loot systems around the World of Warcraft.

Also, due to all the crazy war activities, there is a post regarding making some money in AIEU's new digs! GAME NEWS Recent AIE SWTOR happenings! ~Pel and Max Greetings! Before we get to SWTOR news, I would like to preface our segment with something that has been on my mind and some of the other Officers as well. In SWTOR, as a guild, we have taken a hands-off approach in terms of maintaining our numbers. Meaning we haven't been actively recruiting outside of our already established community. This, in part, has led to a drop off in active players within SWTOR, and I expect this to be the case in some of the other AIE games. We want to change this. We had been operating on the thought that since AIE:WoW has this previously established player base, that it seems only natural that any other AIE branded game would also have something similar. But there are a couple truths. 1st~ Once the shiny wears off, people migrate back to their game of choice. And 2nd~ A pool of existing members is still a pool of roughly the same numbers,

Contest Email/WoW Minis and Episode 100 Lunar Festival until Feb 12th What We've Been Doing: Aprillian Cabana Chat - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opM49V9Fa6Q I feel like I blossomed in Nagrand Mithril spurs helps Auruk keep up with the DK's, had the twins and Auruk in Nagrand doing a lot of quests. They got some good upgrades and both dinged 66 The servers were down on Friday morning but came back up a little after one. I was doing a disk repair on an external drive on the iMac so I was only on one computer. I felt bad leaving Auruk out, but I took the twins to do [Wanted: Zorbo the Advisor]. Of course the XP is better without Auruk. Ending up sticking around the Warmaul area grinding for powder and beads. The level 65 and 66 mobs were easy. I was mostly took on one each. Also found several mining nodes including Khorium. Finally got the iMac back up and brought in Auruk and she kept getting Warmaul skulls. I brought in Aprillian to do Tusker and when they were done, they got the achievement White Elek Nesingwary completion. Aprillian continued on to do Dailies, while the twins and Auruk rode down into Terrakor to quest down there. Realized I need a high level DE, I have a Veyle, my level 40 Rogue who can DE up to 300, she can do Outland greens right now, so that's cool. But I have Primall who is level 55 but is only 107. Do I try to power level Veyle to Then I realized Aprillian was at 400 Tailoring, only 10 away from, so I spent money Friday night buying Frostweave Cloth Saturday I wanted to do the Lunar Festival but got hung up levelling Primall in enchanting. She had a bunch of BOE stuff that she had gotten from Instances but wasn't high enough to DE. But finally after getting Enchanting to 130, she and Veyle went to Valley of Wisdom and starting the Lunar Festival. While in Moonglade Veyle ran up to Nighthaven to get the Runed Arcanite Rod recipe Locksmith? when asking for directions to Tailor. Veyle is donating mageweave and silk cloth to up her xp. Guy begging in TB. Wanted 5g, I said I would give it to him in exchange for some leather. Elder Ezra replaced Elder Proudhorn Back in TB with Veyle and Primall. Hopping around getting coins and in between stopping to level enchanting, and LW on Primall, the LW to get greens to DE. Aprillian in Blade's Edge doing the Mana cell one and netherstorm doing the fury plans and Shutting Down Manaforge B'naar ended up teaming up with a Warlock 72 from Demise with Felhunter Sunday morning I took Epril, JC and Miner Level 66 to train, she hit 350 making an Adamanite ring, and she was able to train 59 recipes plus Grand master JC, 100g! Then she found the Lunar Festival Exclamation mark in Dalaran. I logged on Elyte and the two of them did the initial quest. Then I see people doing the [Frenzied Firecracker] and the [The Rocket's Red Glare] achievements hard to do in laggy areas Then took Primall and Veyle to TB to start coin collecting out that way but stopped in for the Un goro soil quest because Primall had it and there was some soil in the bank. Primall dinged 56. Then they headed to Camp T Decided to take Primall and Veyle to RFD, yes I have ADD. We got into the instance and a couple of greens dropped but decided to go back to do some more coins. Veyle ported to Dalaran and summoned Primall, she still had Scryer for hearth. Then went to the Lunar festival in Dalaran, but they no longer had scrolls in their inventory. They were able to get more from the Lunar chick After doing some research, I realized Primall could Ashayo Chef Ashayo at last! 3.0.8 added more cooking recipes so that the 45 version of The Northrend Gourmet was achievable. Either I miscounted, or they changed the total recipes available down from 46 because I was sure I could leave one out. The Fish Feast required 450 cooking to use, so I left it out. But it turned out I needed it. Which meant levelling cooking from 420 to 450, and since there wasn't any fish in the AH, I had to fish up about 50 of two kinds of fish and 50 rhino meat. I chose the Small Feast, since the fish it requires are both available in schools, so are easier to ensure you catch. Finally got enough mats and cooked up to 450... only to find the Fish Feast recipe required 5 Dalaran Cooking awards instead of the normal 3, and I only had 3 left. Waited for daily change-over, and it was the damn wine/cheese quest that only gives one cooking award. So I had to wait another 24 hours. In the meantime, made damn sure I had enough fish to actually make a Fish Feast once I learnt it. I was out when the dailies reset, and so finally and 2am this morning, I completed the cooking quest and got the Chef title. Phew! Worked on getting my enchanter up to 350 so he could DE level 78 gear. Wasn't too hard ; I'd stockpiled quite a few mats and the vellum's help alot. 2nd egg from Oracles hatched on my holidays - unfortunately both were aged yolk. Waiting for 3rd to hatch. 3.0.8 changes - Mining - don't have to loot to get skill up. - Rain of Fire animation (looks a bit like DK death and decay now) - Improved /follow while flying? (but toons look jerky) - Fire Seed now just millable (apparently increasing spell damage never worked anyway) - Pest Control - To all the squirrels who shared my life - Pygmy suckerfish more common (used by alchemists) - Preserved Holly - changed graphic and gives 1hr buff - but doesn't work with Dreadsteed! - Oracles - Appeasing the Great Rain Stone ; Shiny Treasures drop more often Tailor is making ebonweave and spellweave - nice that imbued frostweave requirements are down (glad I left that until after 3.0.8) Nagrand with DK - soloing level 68 group quests at 66. Camp Forge Fear chain. Did Durn the Hungerer with 1 DK and a healer. Started Lunar Festival - do for rep! Ashayo got 25 coins of ancestry and 10 Exalted Reputations (Undercity) at same time The ancestry coin for Gundrak is only available in Heroic mode. After I was in a group that completed it, summoned a bunch of other guildies to complete in easy mode. Glanthur Did a raid in Naxx (10-man) and got through a lot of the dailies in Icecrown. I also respeced Arlaerus from Holy back to Protection. I just really missed my shield spells. Though, I need to get new gear now for him. Epic flying for Arlaerus is now only 3K gold away. I'd like to thank the guild Lost Chapter on Wyrmrest Accord for being an outstanding guild! Thanks for all the fun times. Emails Email #1 from Tracey I just wanted to thank Aprillian for the advice on the Nagrand quest with the trampoline. I worked on that darn quest for over an hour - with your suggestion on how to make the jump it worked on my 2nd try. Another DK and I had to team up to kill the bird that worked well. I really get alot out of your podcasts and even though you tend to be a bit Hordish I enjoy it anyway. Have a great week - looking forward to the next podcast. Thanks, Tracey (Warhumpdy, Dkhumpdy) on Malygos (Hey to Hand of Destiny guildies) Email #2 from Patrick Hello folks Well I made another move from Garrosh to Wyrmrest Accord (now I am starting to sound like Aprillian). The reason why I moved again is my friend missed the free window from Earthen Ring to Garrosh and we really wanted to team up and level as a group. The 2nd reason is the same as what Glanthur had stated about RP servers. Like him, I just wanted to be on a RP server to watch role playing. I, like Glanthur, am not a role player but I found that many players on RP servers are friendlier and tend to help out more. Sure you always get the clowns, but in general, I find the attitude is far better. That's all for now. Email #3 from Xandarr Hello, it is Xandarr again. http://ctrlaltwow.podbean.com/2009/01/16/ctrl-alt-wow-episode-97-respec-just-a-little-bit (But now I have made two new toons on the Perenolde Server with the Epic Dolls Guild. You might know them as some of your fellow podcasters) Anyway, I was shocked to hear you read my email on the air. I was so excited that when I got home that evening I let my wife listen to it. BOY DID SHE ROLL HER EYES AT ME. She said that not only was is more addicts trying to justiy my addiction with them, but that when she has our next baby in 8 months I have to give up the game entirely. ACK!!! NO!!! Anyway, such is life right? I am really not looking forwardto giving up WoW competely. She dosn't realize I FIND MY TIME TO PLAY and NEED that time... desperately. Even if it is an hour here or an hour there. I just gotta find better times to make time for WoW after I take care of the baby and stuff. I gotta find a way to make a deal with her. Any ideas? I did write a review for you guys on I tunes under the name Jasper2112. Love your show, and I am glad it is on weekly. FOR THE HORDE! Chilie & Cornbread (Tauren Hunter and pet cat) with Portirhouse (Tauren Death Knight) Dubbed "He-who-loves-food" by guildmates Common Dolls with the Epic Dolls guild on Perenolde Server Email #4 from Eranth Aprillian, Ashayo, Glanther (&Blade!) I thought I'd drop you a line for the next show and just make a few comments about the recent patch with the “Hunter Nerf” from the casual hunter's perspective. There had been a good deal of concern that this patch would really hose down the DPS of the Hunter. While I believe that the result that Blizzard has come up with does tone down the DPS of the Beastmaster and likely the Marksman some, we may see the Survival Hunter tuned up to be more viable. What I've noticed with my more casual play of my Beastmaster Hunter is that where my pets were pretty tough before, able to aggro, hold and grind down 4 or 5 mid-70's to upper-70's mobs, I'm having to throw down more Pet Mends to keep him up and going. While I feel like my DPS has come down some, it's not nearly as drastic as I was imagining it would be. While I haven't crunched any numbers, my evidence is simply based on trying to pay attention to how encounters have gone, compared to how they felt they'd gone in the past. I've done a fair amount of grinding out leather in Scholazar Basin, trying to pull in 3 or 4 mobs at a time, multi-shot and AOE them down, then collect the skins. Again, the biggest difference I've noticed is having to throw down Mend Pet more often than before, because my pet isn't as tough as he used to be. I'd be interested to hear what others have experienced! Keep up the good work with Control-Alt-WoW! “Walk with the Earth Mother..” --Eranth AIE on Earthen Ring Email #5 iTunes Review
Aprillian, Glanthur and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Actually no Ashayo this week. But he'll be back next week. Write us at ctrlaltwow@gmail.com Contest for WoW Mini's Contest for emails What We've Been Doing: Aprillian Quad boxed in Nagrand, it was quite the experience. Epril, Elyte, Auruk and Aprillian. Finished the Crone quest and then hearthed to Dalaran and did some maintainance and prof training. Epril got her JC up over 325 and headed back to Nagrand where she ran into that chick with the many hides quest. Aprillian needed training, hadn't been to a Warlock Trainer in ages, spent over 50 g and finally figured out how to socket her boots. Sometimes you have to take the time to read. Elyte made some glyph, turned out she had some open spaces Went to do the mana cell daily with Aprillian, fell off of the Landing, had to run around to get back to the town and find a Spirit Healer Took Auruk and the twins back to Nagrand. Did the War on Warmual quest, freeing those guys out of the cage. Auruk had done the quests but he managed to ding 66, so that was cool. I have to remember to take him back to train. There was some tricky stuff, for instance Elyte needed Obsidian beads so she needed to do the looting but Epril needed the powder. New transfers off of ER. I transfered the Death Knight that wasn't one of the twins, started a DK gnome, her blade goes through the ground. Then I panicked because Thejasper was my high level DE'er and now I didn't have any. So I decided to get out Veyle, my level 40 rogue enchanter BS and Tiiaa my mage enchanter skinner. Veyle has Enchanting maxed at 300 because she needs to get to 50. I brought my level 39 Mage along, she was 3 bubbles from 40. I want her to get portals. I took the 3 out to the Badlands where Tiiaa got those two gathering quests Glanthur Transferred from Earthen Ring on my Alliance alts (Glanthur and Arlaerus) to Wyrmrest Accord, a RPPvE realm. I was so new I actually got a realm first for 450 in cooking achievement. There were only 20-something 80s on the whole server the first day, so I joined a great guild called Lost Chapter (a raid guild) and we ran Obsidian Sanctum. Since we were the first, we got another Realm First, and I'm now officially Obsidian Slayer Glanthur. So cool! Also been leveling Arlaerus, since the guild needs more healers. It's tough though finding good plate spell-casting gear. Great Ventrillo client for Mac is Ventrilo (also has a PC and Linux client). The Bladed Edge Now... this week's been busy in real life, so Ol' Blade doesn't have a lot of news to report... my little project is coming along... hit a few snags here and there... but I hope by next week to be back in Northrend hammering my way up to 80... Got things to do, you know... gotta level my Engineering skill, too! That said, if you need any tinkering or sudden miraculous inventions to be made... Ol' Blade's not half-bad... but I *did* come across someone who totally bests me in the 'miraculous invention' department... McGoyver... Ya... seriously... he's in Howling Fjord... admittedly, it's a bit of a lunch-bag let-down that he's a Gnome... but regardless... he's on the beach at Volgarde... he's even got a tag under his name... very apt for one of the best inventors of miraculous stuff... Moving on. From the 'Dirty Little Tricks' Department: For the Hunters... a two in one... 'cause... if you're like me on Wolftusk... not the *best* Hunter in the world... but not so clueless as to be called a 'Huntard' (those are the ones that let their pet Growl the aggro off the Tank... you know who you are...) The rest of us get tarred with a nasty brush every time one of you jokers goofs up in a dungeon... so hopefully this two-shot of macros will help that from happening a little less often... Two-shot... see what I did there? I made a punny! Step one: /Focus Target Manually select your target (player, pet, or even a mob) you want as a focus, and hit the macro. They now have a shiny glow around their character picture, showing them as your focus... and yes, your focus can also be an enemy mob; you may be on CC (crowd control) duty and assigned to chain trap a particular mob. This macro does its part by making the mob your focus... making it easier to keep track of your enemy. Now... step 2... /Target Focus /Assist Target /Cast Auto Shot (or whatever... some folks like to have an instant-cast shot like Arcane Shot in here... it's personal preference, really... some prefer a slower-acting shot like Serpent Sting to allow the tank to generate a little Threat before the damage starts...) Assuming that you used the macro we just mentioned to choose the Tank as your Focus, this macro will allow you to /assist your focus (the tank) and let fly with one of your attacks. If you *remove* the third line and don't have an attack launched at the tank's target as soon as you hit this macro, then you select the tank's target as your own (that's what /assist does) and you wait... this might be a wise thing to do depending on the situation... it lets the tank generate the threat they need to keep the mobs from focussing on you! But then... there's something to be said about waiting a few seconds while the tank does their thing... Whatever you do... don't use Aimed Shot... if you do, I'll track you down and call you a Huntard myself... From Ol' Blade's Easter Egg Basket: As everyone knows by now, Ol' Blade's been doing some exploring... and some of the more out-of-the-reach places have hidden things to find if you look hard enough... For example... when flying between Elwynn Forest and Burning Steppes, if you look down, you can see some campsites along the banks of a small river or stream that eventually feeds the waterfall in Northshire... you can't get to this place from Elwynn FZorest, but there's a path that leads right up the mountains to it from the Burning Steppes... I recommend being high enough level to not drawn aggro from the level 50+ monsters in this zone... From up here, there's some pretty spectacular views of Elwynn Forest... and another little curiosity... near the banks of the stream, there's a school of fish you can fish from... but you don't catch fish... you catch peaceblooms... Also... if you swim south from Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands (or technically north from Stormwind Harbor) you will come to a spot on the coastline called 'Newman's Landing'. Now... I know what you're thinking... who goes THERE? Apparently not many people... it *does* seem to be a pun of the phrase "No Man's Land" after all... Not a friendly place... there's skeletons all over the place... it looks like the last time I pvp'd against the Alliance... there's even a signpost with a skull balanced on an axe embedded in the post. From what I hear, this place used to be completely abandoned... maybe a long-forgotten pirate treasure-burial site? Who knows? High Admiral "Shelly" Jorrik might. He's the goblin that - with a few guards - has recently come to the area... maybe to dig for pirate gold? As always, an awesome podcast guys! Blade Emails Email #1 From Patrick Bye bye to Earthin Ring for me Hello guys For the past few weeks, when I have tried to sign onto the Earthin Ring, 95% of the time I am stuck in a queue. Unfortunately I encountered the last straw a few days ago and that was it, I took the free character move and moved Bruurk, my lvl 35 hunter and my other alt, to the Garrosh server. Unfortunately this does mean I have left AIG which did disappoint me quit a bit, but the fact that there is no more queue time now means I can play for bloody change !! So sorry Ashayo, as it was you who added me to AIE guild. LOL, So Aprillian you no longer have to worry about my alt lurking in the AH to intercept your cross faction auctions. By the way, in listening to the last few pod casts, I think I figured out the name of your alliance toon that you use in your AH laundering scams. Not to worry you secret is safe since I am no long on Earthin Ring !!!! Well that is all for now !! Go Arsenal FC !! Patrick Email #2 from Brenry - Boulderfist Name: Brenry - Boulderfist | Date: January 17, 2009 When he comments on his dread about Pinnacle gauntlet… there is a way to EASY mode it. Here's how ! Party waits in room before gauntlet. Someone aggros boss so he'll fly up starting event. That person runs back. He and all the mobs will despawn. Then the party runs all the way down the hall to the room at the other end. This will avoid ALL frost issues on ground. Just aoe the mob waves that spawn on top of you. Right before the 5th or 6th (i forget which) wave when the boss lands, everyone leave room so they avoid cleave of boss and tank picks it up. Enjoy free epics XD Email #3 from Dreamweaver I have just finished listening to Ctrlaltwow and was quite shocked to hear my e-mail on the show as looking back it was quite long, and was even more shocked to found out i won. Email #3a from Dreamweaver Dreamweaver back again, after listening to the podcast and being suprised that i won the roll (see other e-mail) i would like to say sorry for missing out Glanthur from the very start, BUT i did say something about all three of you in the Itunes review i did before i wrote the e-mail to Ctrlaltwow Also a little update from my fuzzball druid, after quite some time working on all the rep with the home cities i finaly got the Title reward of Ambassador :D i was so pleased with myself i was runing round all over the place showing off my title, and about 30 mins later i got a wisper from a friend asking to tank malygos 10 man, so ofc i went, i have been before so i knew what to do in phase one and two but i hadnt been able to down him as of then. untill i got into this group... the damage that all of these people were doing was amazing so getting malygos to 50% in quite a short time came the next phase, this is where mobs come flying down on hover disc's (think back to the future) so the ones that were on the ground i picked up while they were nuked down, then the ones in the air were taken down aswell. in this phase when one of the mobs die they drop the hover disc's and melee can jump onto them and dps down the ones flying in the air, once they are all dead the platform that you are on just crumbles away and all 10 of us just fall into space to our deaths...... but just when i think OOOOHHHH NNOOEEESSSS while falling 10 drakes from the dragonflight come sweeping up and we land on the backs of them, the drakes have abilitys all of there own so we use the drakes spells to kill malygos. 1% left on him and the second he dies KABOOM **Dreamweaver has earned Champion of the Frozen Wastes** So now i am shown as 'Dreamweaver Champion of the Frozen Wastes' I didnt even know i would get the title so was a bit shocked and getting it only an hour after getting the title of Ambassador. My druid has a funny a in its name so will link his armory page http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Draenor&n=Dre%C3%A1mweaver
