Rod Reuven Bryant and Jerry Gordon interview Ken Timmerman, veteran Iran watcher and New York Times best-selling author fresh back from Tbilisi, Georgia with a tale of Iran’s Islamic Regime brutality and deception. Timmerman reveals in this interview the latest attempt by Iran to cover up the Islamic Regime’s 9/11 Al Qaeda links. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia admitted on national television that, when he was Interior Minister, he launched in February 2018 a sting operation, at the request of Iran, against Iran Intelligence defector Alireza Soleimanpak. Soleimanpak provided an ‘Earth shattering” affidavit in the US Federal Court 2011 9/11 on Al Qaeda Iran links. Soleimanpak revealed “direct contact between Iran and Al Qaeda; and act of state-sponsored terrorism”. Timmerman cited recent Iranian terror operations by Iran against defectors foiled in the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. Soleimanpak left Germany in 2018 where he had lived since 2002, trying to free his brother imprisoned in the notorious Evin prison in Tehran. He was motivated to free his brother on a prison furlough following the imprisonment, torture and death after release of Soleimanpak’s sister in 2016. Soleimanpak was arrested in 2018 imprisoned and tortured by Georgian internal security personnel under trumped up charges that he was planning to murder two Iranians. The Iranian Ambassador in Georgia wrote a letter offering Soleimanpak with an offer of $5 million and a Georgian passport if the latter would recant his testimony in the 9/11 Links case. Soleimanipak refused. Soleimanpak’s brother was subsequently murdered by Iranian security personnel. Timmerman notes that Soleimanpak has been detained for 18 months, seven of which were in solitary confinement. Most recently, he has been on a hunger strike. Timmerman considers Moscow educated Georgian PM Gakharia, an Iran “stooge”. Timmerman was the lead investigator for plaintiffs in the 2011 New York Southern District Federal Court landmark “9/11-Iran links” case: Fiona Havlish et al., v. Sheik Usamah bin-Muhammad bin-Laden et al. The case was brought on behalf of Ms. Havlish’s husband who was lost on the 101st floor of a World Trade Center tower on September 11, 2001. Other 9/11 victims’ surviving families and loved ones were included as co-plaintiffs. The New York Southern District Federal Court judge in the 9/11-Links case handed down upwards of $10 billion in two awards made to the certified class of 9/11 claimants in 2012 and 2015. In May 2018, a default judgment was entered by the New York Federal Court Judge in the Havlish et. al. case under a 2016 Supreme Court ruling against Iran which was not contested. The total of court awards is more than $10 billion. Both the Kenneth Timmerman evidentiary affidavits filed in Havlish et.al. New York Federal court trial and the Bin Laden files released in November 2017 by then CIA Director Mike Pompeo, now Secretary of State, attest to the extensive links between Tehran and the perpetrators of 9/11. According to Timmerman Soleimanpak’s 9/11 Links affidavit showed that Iran gave direct material assistance to the 9/11 Saudi perpetrators. Iran provided the simulator for on training of the 9/11 perpetrators on Boeing 747, 757, 767 aircraft. Timmerman noted that the 9/11 Commission did not report about Iran Boeing aircraft simulator training for Al Qaeda perpetrators who received flight training on small aircraft in the US. Soleimanpak’s affidavit revealed a visit by Sa’ad bin Laden in January 2001. Al Qaeda Number 2 Ayman al- Zawahiri met with Ayatollah Khamenei in May 2001 in Tehran. Situated strategically at the crossroads of Europe and Asia in the Caucasus mountain range the Republic of Georgia has a unique and ancient cultural heritage that is famed for its traditions of hospitality and cuisine. Twenty-five years ago award-winner cookbook author Darra Goldstein introduced a generation of cooks to the culture and cuisine of that land in her book, The Georgian Feast. Today Georgia has become a hot travel destination for both its beautiful land and its food and wine traditions. Fortunately for us, an updated anniversary edition of The Georgian Feast has been released, and Darra once again brings the marvels and tastes of that rich country to her readers. Where did vitis vinifera originate? Where do we think winemaking started? We think it's from the area that is now the Republic of Georgia. Once part of the USSR, this small, beautiful nation is reemerging as a wine power so it's time for an overview! Here are the show notes: Top level stuff... Georgia is where Eastern Europe meets Asia. Between the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea As big as Scotland or Ireland 111,000 acres of vines ranging from the coast of the Black Sea to Kakheti, on the other side of the Caucasus mountains Outside Tbilisi, they only speak Georgian so when you go, you've gotta hire a guide Location: Russia to the north and Turkey and Armenia to the south Primary wine region of Kakheti—according to Georgians, the birthplace of wine itself The main wine regions, from Kakheti in the east and Imereti, Racha and Samegrelo in the west, are within a few hours’ drive from Tbilisi, the capital Climate: a diverse climatic landscape that varies from temperate to subtropical An Historical Relic: Qveri (Kwhere-vree) Traditional Georgian fermentation: a clay vessel used for centuries to produce wine in Georgia. Qvervi: 1,000-liter beeswax-coated terra-cotta jar buried in the earth A qvevri is a thick-walled vessel buried deep in the ground in a marani, or Georgian wine cellar. naturally maintains wine at optimal temperature during fermentation and allows it to age for many years without spoilage. Once fermentation is complete, the wine can be racked into another qvevri, leaving the heavy sediment behind. Qvevri white wine is sharp, strong, amber. or in the case of reds, so dark it’s known as shavi gvino: black wine Grapes: 500+ indigenous grape varietals found in Georgia, Red: Saperavi, Tavkveri and Chkhaveri plus Tavkveri, Shavkapito, Chkhaveri and Ojaleshi. White: Rkatsiteli (r-kat-see-telly), Chinuri and Mtsvane (mits-vane) méthode Champenoise in Georgia since the late 1800s, with native grape Orange wine: Friuli winemaker Josko Gravner makes his sought-after “orange” wines using ancient Georgian techniques/qvervri History: Grapes and traces of wine residue have been found in archaelogical digs from 8,000 years ago. Vitis vinifera originated from the Caucasus mountains in GA Ottoman rule in west, Christianity in the east made east side of the country the wine powerhouse Georgia came under Soviet control a few decades later. Small vineyards merged into huge co-ops =CRAP Georgia declared independence in 1991 Russia's 2006 embargo on Georgian wine imports, lifted only in June 2013. Forced diversification into other, stronger markets The wines of Georgia have a little ways to go, but they are a fascinating slice of vinous history and worth seeking out or trying if they are ever right in front of you!
Through the Gates opens season 2 with guest Elizabeth Cullen Dunn, an associate professor in IU's School of Global and International Studies. Professor Dunn discusses the experiences and lessons learned during the development of her upcoming book, "Permanently Temporary: Humanitarianism and displacement in the Republic of Georgia." She also discusses the plight of refugees in other parts of the world, as well as the current state of efforts to resettle refugees in Bloomington, Indiana. #politicsandtheworld

Pastor Staten's message this morning is entitled "The Cross that Jesus died on." Pastor talks about his trip to Tblisi, Republic of Georgia to visit missionary and son, Jared and family. God has declared that He will build his church upon a rock and hell will not be able to conquer it. The events of today instill fear in us. Find your comfort in the words that Jesus has spoken. The cross is a principle for life. He gave himself upon the cross so that others may live.
