But revolutionary thinker Magic Mason proposed that instead of five, humans have nine senses. This revolutionary idea, as proposed by Mason, should be taught at all levels in school. Here, Mason champions the idea of having only one world language to avoid misunderstandings. He proposed to have this integrated in the different curricula around the world.Another portion of the book also tackles about architecture and design-from foundation to roof plan.World Peace of Glory and Senses is a cornucopia of subjects-from psychology, to linguistics, to architecture.Magic Mason (Majid Khodabandeh) was born in Tehran, Iran, moved to Germany in 1985 and moved to the United States in 1989. On this week's program, your host, Justin Mog, takes a seat in the common area for a great conversation about building community through cohousing! Listen in as we dialogue with Don Reinhardt, Outreach Director for Louisville Cohousing (https://www.louisvillecohousing.com/). Since the beginning of humankind, people lived with their extended families in communities where many tasks and resources were shared. Villages were structured in a way that encouraged more daily interaction. It is still that way in many places in the world. But here in the United States, especially, since World War, our neighborhoods have typically been designed for the nuclear family in a way that encourages less interaction. Isolation has become one of the most prominent public health issues of our time. We are more self-sufficient, but are we really? In 1940, an estimated 8 percent of Americans lived alone in their household. Now, 40 million Americans currently live alone, accounting for 30% of American households. And loneliness, according to the surgeon general, has been found to have the same negative health impact as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.Revived models of the village, namely Cohousing, can provide a way to plan for a healthier and more sustainable way of living, where neighbors design their village together and support each other more. Learn more and get connected with Louisville Cohousing at https://www.louisvillecohousing.com/ Don is a native Kentuckian who graduated from Northern Kentucky University in the early 1980's with a degree in Psychology. Don currently lives in Campbellsburg, KY, where he returned to his home state in 2017 after 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. His work has included careers in mental health, information technology, and construction management, with over 30 years of experience in all levels of residential construction. He became interested in intentional community early in his career while studying at NKU. Don has lived in two Cohousing communities on the West Coast, and through all of his work he has carried a lifelong passion for combining Social Ventures with Housing Solutions. As a housing consultant, Don is currently partnered with nonprofit organizations in Louisville with missions of providing Affordable Housing for persons who have been marginalized. He has worked primarily with the Mattingly Edge, and a new non-profit start-up, Inclusive Housing Solutions, to launch Louisville Cohousing. In cooperation with Hope Dittmeier and Broke Crum at Mattingly Edge, and Mathilde Berthe at STUDIO co+hab, a cohousing architectural firm, and Frank Schwartz, a social worker, he recently spearheaded a grassroots effort by citizens who are part of Louisville Cohousing to get Cohousing included in the final draft of Mayor Greenberg's My Louisville Home Plan for 15,000 new Affordable Housing units by 2027. Don has family in Campbellsburg, Louisville, and Northern Kentucky. He has the dream of establishing Cohousing communities at each location. World Peace of Glory and Senses by Magic MasonSchools have taught us that humans only have five senses. But revolutionary thinker Magic Mason proposed that instead of five, humans have nine senses. This revolutionary idea, as propsed by Mason, should be taught at all levels in school. He believes that with enough learning and research, people will be able to find ways to satisfy these nine senses and lead satisfactory lives, leading to a safer and sated society.Included in this book is the concept of one language—the language of the world. Here, Mason champions the idea of having only one world language to avoid misunderstanding. He proposed to have this inegrted in the different curriculum around the world. JULIE BAUKE JOINS DAWN LIVE!Julie expands on the prompts below including workplace reports on.... Women & Age DiscriminationCollege Grad Job report - degrees leading to non educated pay? Americans leaning into freelance? Due to the economy?Gen Z ghosting job interviews and 1st shift? WOMEN & AGE DISCRIMINATION IN THE WORKPLACEAccording to a new survey by Women of Influence+, 77.8% of women have encountered age-related discrimination in their careers.Conducted between January and February 2024, the survey received responses from more than 1,250 women across 46 countries, spanning various industries. What should workers do if they feel they're being discriminated against because of their age? COLLEGE GRAD JOB REPORTAccording to The Wall Street Journal, 52% of college graduates have jobs that don't require a degree. That is the key finding of a new study tracking the career paths of more than 10 million people who entered the job market over the past decade... More than any other factor analyzed—including race, gender and choice of university—what a person studies determines their odds of getting on a college-level career track. Internships are also critical. The findings add fuel to the debate over the value of a college education as its cost has soared—and whether universities are producing the kind of knowledge workers that employers say they need. “You're told your entire life, ‘Go to college, get a bachelor's degree and your life is gonna be gravy after that,'” said Alexander Wolfe, 29 years old, a 2018 graduate from Northern Kentucky University who currently works security at a corporate facility in the Cincinnati area. “In reality, it hasn't really helped me that much.” Read more. What's the takeaway for high school students who are debating whether to go to college - and then what to major in? How can you make sure your degree will help you land a good first job that won't derail your earning potential? AMERICANS PURSUING FREELANCE NOW MORE THAN EVERAccording to Digiday, more Americans are pursuing freelance work instead of a full-time job. Last year, one of the most buzzed-about trends was The Great Betrayal, defined by employees having grown to feel that workplace stability and employer loyalty are a fantasy, and that workers who bet on themselves and rent out their skills across a range of clients tend to be better off. A recent survey of 1,000 knowledge workers by the members-only product builders network A.Team found that those sentiments are becoming even more entrenched following the recent wave of layoffs... leading many to go from merely complementing their full-time jobs with side gigs to ditching the staff job altogether. Nearly three-quarters (73%) of those in the survey said recent layoffs in the news made freelance work more desirable than before, with more than 6 in 10 (64%) losing trust in the stability and security of full-time employment. Among workers who have been furloughed, about half said they were searching for a job in the same field, while another one-quarter were pivoting to a new line of work. The remainder said they were switching to freelance or starting their own businesses. What should you consider before starting your own business or relying on freelance work? 93% OF GEN Z GHOST JOB INTERVIEWS: 87% MISS FIRST DAY OF WORKAccording to Fortune, a new survey finds Gen Z are treating their would-be employers like bad dates and not showing up for job interviews or their first day on the job without as much as a phone call.Employment website Indeed surveyed 1,500 businesses and 1,500 working people in the U.K. and found that job ghosting is rife, with 75% of workers saying they've ignored a prospective employer in the past year. But the youngest generation of workers are by far the worst offenders. A whopping 93% of Gen Zers told the global recruitment platform that they've flaked out of an interview. Worse still, a staggering 87% managed to charm their way through interviews, secure the job, and sign the contract, only to leave their new boss stranded on the very first day. Their reason for doing so? According to the survey, it makes them “feel in charge of their career”. How risky is this type of behavior? Could ghosting job interviews or failing to show up for the first day of work come back to haunt these young workers? Julie Bauke (rhymes with NOW-kee) can weigh in on this. She is Founder and Chief Career Strategist with The Bauke Group. Julie also worked for 16 years in HR. She is the author of the book, Stop Peeing On Your Shoes: Avoiding the 7 Mistakes That Screw Up Your Job Search. Tune in 10 AM - 12 PM EST weekdays on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT; or on the Audacy app!
