Protestors all across Iran continue to take to the streets calling for the ouster of Ayatollah Khamenei in what is being called the most serious challenge to the regime in years. Tehran has cut off all internet and foreign phone calls as bonfires and debris litter the streets of the capital and other cities in the country. President Trump has warned that the United States would intervene if the Iranian security forces harmed protesters. FOX's Jonathan Savage speaks with Dr. Majid Sadeghpour, human rights activist and a board member and the political director for The Organization of Iranian-American Communities (OIAC), who says these intensifying protests are very much putting pressure on the Iranian theocracy, and they discuss how these demonstrations could possibly play out. SHOW 1-5-26 THE SHOW BEGINS IN DOUBTS ABOUT VENEZUELA, NIGERIA, SYRIA, RUSSIA, CHINA 1936 KENYA 1. NIGERIA AIRSTRIKE AND THE JIHADIST SHIFT Guest: Edmund Fitton-Brown Edmund Fitton-Brown analyzes a US airstrike against ISIS in Nigeria, discussing the growing jihadist threat in West Africa's "ungoverned spaces." He highlights a strategic shift where African juntas reject Western support for Russian mercenaries, who offer security without governance conditions, inadvertently boosting local support for Al-Qaeda coalitions like JNIM,,. 2. EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN ALLIANCE VS. TURKEY Guest: Edmund Fitton-Brown Fitton-Brown examines the cooperation between Greece, Cyprus, and Israel as a necessary pushback against Turkish President Erdogan's neo-Ottoman expansionism. He argues Erdogan's aggressive rhetoric regarding Jerusalem and maritime claims threatens regional stability, necessitating a unified defense from these democracies to counter Turkish overreach in the Mediterranean,. 3. CHINA'S OIL LOSS IN VENEZUELA Guest: Gordon Chang and Charles Burton The guests discuss how the US removal of Maduro disrupts China's oil supply, leaving Beijing with billions in unpaid debt. They note that Chinese military equipment failed to detect the US operation, embarrassing Beijing. Burton suggests Canada faces a difficult choice between aligning with US hemispheric security or appeasing China,,. 4. 2026: A HOLLOW SUPERPOWER Guest: Gordon Chang and Charles Burton Chang and Burton speculate that the US operation in Venezuela exposes China's inability to protect its allies, making Beijing appear "hollow." Chang argues this weakens China's threat against Taiwan, while Burton suggests that with China's economy failing and its allies collapsing, the regime faces internal instability and a loss of global prestige,. 5. SECTARIAN WARFARE IN SYRIA Guest: Akmed Sharawari Akmed Sharawari reports on escalating violence between Syria's Alawite minority and the central government led by former jihadist Al-Shara. He explains that regime remnants and Russian influence are fueling Alawite defiance, while Druze and Kurdish factions also resist integration, complicating US hopes for a stable, unified post-Assad state,,. 6. WESTERN AIRSTRIKES ON ISIS Guest: Akmed Sharawari Sharawari discusses recent British and French airstrikes against ISIS weapons caches in Syria. He notes that despite opposing the central government, ISIS remains a universal threat. The chaos following the Assad regime's fall has allowed ISIS cells to regroup in urban areas, necessitating Western intervention to destroy their stolen arsenals,. 7. HEZBOLLAH'S LATIN AMERICAN FINANCING Guest: David Daoud David Daoud details Hezbollah's deep entrenchment in Venezuela, used to challenge US hegemony. He explains how the group exploits Latin American networks, illicit trade, and legitimate business fronts within expatriate communities to generate essential funding, compensating for losses in Lebanon and serving Iran's broader strategy in the Western Hemisphere,. 8. LEBANESE ARMY COLLUSION Guest: David Daoud Daoud highlights the compromised nature of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), citing a recent incident where an LAF soldier killed alongside Hezbollah members received a joint funeral. He argues this collusion makes the LAF an untrustworthy partner for Israel, as sectarian loyalties often supersede national duty, leading to dangerous intelligence leaks,. 9. THE FALL OF MADURO Guest: Alejandro Peña Esclusa and Ernesto Araújo Alejandro Peña Esclusa celebrates the swift US capture of Maduro as Venezuela's liberation. He argues Vice President Delcy Rodriguez must now dismantle the "Cartel of the Suns" to avoid Maduro's fate. Ernesto Araújo frames this as a decisive victory for freedom, forcing a choice between democracy and criminal syndicates,,. 10. US DEMANDS: TERRORISTS OUT Guest: Alejandro Peña Esclusa Peña Esclusa supports US demands for Iran, Hezbollah, and the ELN to be expelled from Venezuela, asserting the population shares these desires. He characterizes Maduro as a drug lord and a threat to Western security, criticizing European leftists who condemn the operation for failing to recognize the regime's criminal nature. 11. PANIC AMONG THE LATIN LEFT Guest: Alejandro Peña Esclusa and Ernesto Araújo Ernesto Araújo explains that leftist leaders like Lula and Petro fear the US action against Maduro because their power structures share similar corruption. Peña Esclusa adds that Colombian President Petro is terrified because his campaign was funded by Venezuelan drug money, making him vulnerable to the exposure of these secrets,. 12. THE RIGHTWARD SHIFT IN ELECTIONS Guest: Alejandro Peña Esclusa and Ernesto Araújo Araújo predicts the US action in Venezuela will energize the Latin American right, specifically boosting the Bolsonaro movement in Brazil. Peña Esclusa forecasts electoral defeats for the left in Costa Rica, Peru, and Colombia, arguing the region is turning away from narco-socialism toward US-aligned conservative leadership,. 13. RUSSIA'S MAXIMALIST DEMANDS Guest: John Hardie John Hardie outlines Russia's unyielding demands for peace, including territorial concessions and barring Ukraine from NATO. He notes that while Zelensky is nearing agreement with the West on security guarantees, the gap with Russia remains wide. Hardie urges the Trump administration to increase pressure to force Putin to compromise,. 14. THE IMPOSSIBLE DMZ Guest: John Hardie Hardie discusses the complexities of implementing a demilitarized zone (DMZ) in Ukraine, citing disagreements over sovereignty and administration. Regarding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, he notes Russia is unlikely to return control to Ukraine. He concludes that peace deals requiring Ukraine to cede territory are "poison pills" likely to fail,. 15. HAMAS AND THE IMPOSSIBLE RECONSTRUCTION Guest: Peter Berkowitz Peter Berkowitz argues that Hamas, as a Muslim Brotherhood offshoot, remains committed to Israel's destruction, making peace impossible. He criticizes the "Project Sunrise" reconstruction plan, noting that US-led development is futile without first disarming and deradicalizing Gaza, a task only the IDF can currently achieve given Hamas's refusal to surrender,. 16. IRAN ON THE BRINK Guest: Jonathan Sia Jonathan Sia reports on unprecedented Iranian protests and rumors that Ayatollah Khamenei plans to flee to Moscow. He attributes the regime's panic to the recent fall of allies like Maduro. Sia notes a shift in protester sentiment toward pro-monarchy chants, suggesting a coordinated opposition now exists to replace the theocracy,.
Today's Headlines: Trump's Venezuela operation keeps getting weirder. Nicolás Maduro and his wife pled not guilty in Manhattan court and Maduro insists he's “still president” — despite currently living at the detention center. Trump walked back his claim that Marco Rubio would “run Venezuela,” and is now elevating Stephen Miller to help oversee things with interim leader Delcy Rodriguez — while warning he'll launch more strikes if she doesn't cooperate. Meanwhile, Trump allies say opposition leader María Corina Machado blew her shot at power by… not giving Trump her Nobel Prize. To make things…more chaotic, Trump has started floating similar threats toward Cuba, Mexico, Colombia — and Greenland — prompting Greenland's prime minister to remind him that their country is “not an object of superpower rhetoric.” Congress only got briefed on the Venezuela strikes after the fact, because Trump says lawmakers “leak,” though somehow oil companies heard before and after. Also suspicious: someone made $400k on Polymarket betting Maduro would be deposed in January. Abroad, protests in Iran continue, and a British intel report says Ayatollah Khamenei has a “Plan B” escape route to Moscow if things collapse. In other news, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth censured Sen. Mark Kelly in the first step toward possible rank demotion — all because Kelly appeared in a video noting it's legal to refuse illegal military orders. The administration also slashed the number of recommended childhood vaccines from 17 to 11 — a move that could reshape insurance coverage and access next year and Arizona's Supreme Court building was evacuated after a suspicious package containing homemade explosive material was found. Lastly, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced he won't seek a third term following months of harassment fueled by Trump and right-wing trolls resurfacing an old Somali daycare fraud case. Fidel Castro stole everything but their love and their lives. Same with my other grandparents Rafael and Ophelia and my Mom. They lost everything but their love and their lives. Now there's hope of a free Cuba for our long lost family there and hope of making past wrongs right once again. I'm with President Trump all the way. Cuba should be a rich, island paradise and it can be as a US territory. It's a strategic asset for our safety too as a base of operations to defend our homeland in the mainland US. There's no downside to toppling the communists who've only stayed in power by killing and jailing Cubans for decades. Now is the time. It can also serve as a helpful spot to run any US/Venezuela operations that benefits America instead of a narco pass through entity used by our enemies as a constant threat to American safety. Russia, China, Venezuela and many others have used Cuba to threaten us for long enough. It's time we take control and empower the Cuban people. No American blood needs to be spilled. This can be a massive win for the future of both Cuba and more importantly, for America. And the Department of War — and the American people — expect justice. Therefore, in response to Senator Mark Kelly's seditious statements — and his pattern of reckless misconduct — the Department of War is taking administrative action against Captain Mark E. Kelly, USN (Ret). The department has initiated retirement grade determination proceedings under 10 U.S.C. § 1370(f), with reduction in his retired grade resulting in a corresponding reduction in retired pay. To ensure this action, the Secretary of War has also issued a formal Letter of Censure, which outlines the totality of Captain (for now) Kelly's reckless misconduct. This Censure is a necessary process step, and will be placed in Captain Kelly's official and permanent military personnel file. Captain Kelly has been provided notice of the basis for this action and has thirty days to submit a response. The retirement grade determination process directed by Secretary Hegseth will be completed within forty five days. Captain Kelly's status as a sitting United States Senator does not exempt him from accountability, and further violations could result in further action. These actions are based on Captain Kelly’s public statements from June through December 2025 in which he characterized lawful military operations as illegal and counseled members of the Armed Forces to refuse lawful orders. This conduct was seditious in nature and violated Articles 133 and 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, to which Captain Kelly remains subject as a retired officer receiving pay. https://twitter.com/TonySeruga/status/2008201370458075286?s=20 energy, and corporatism, all are reliant on the narcos for dark funding. President Trump shut down a fake news reporter who was trying to create a wedge between Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. A legacy media reporter tried to stir up a little trouble and President Trump promptly shut her down. “What you say that Marco Rubio has your ear more than the Vice President right now?” a reporter asked President Trump. Trump shut it down. “No! They both do. JD is very smart and doing a great job and so is Marco! I would say they're equal,” Trump said. This is apparently the overture of what is to come – The Secret Dominion/Huawei Data Center in Belgrade, Serbia – that emphatically and officially did not exist – DID exist and was disabled by U.S. gov employees just days prior to the 2024 election. It has now been dismantled, which may disappoint former CIA Director John Brennan, who reportedly financed half of it from the CIA ‘Black Budget.’ The other half of the funding was from our dear friends in China. That’s right, the theft of The US Presidency and multiple other elections worldwide was co-financed by our own CIA – Top Venezuelan engineers who reportedly designed and executed multiple foreign based election frauds in America using Dominion and Smartmatic systems are in America under U.S. gov protection and have provided sworn testimony. They include an engineer who personally helped illegally install Joe Biden as President in 2020 – These engineers are also joined by General Hugo Carvjal, former Head of Venezuelan Intelligence, now in jail in New York (his cellmate is Diddy Combs) and he is cooperating with Fed authorities (see below) – Another Venezuelan General has now also joined General Carvjal in providing 1st person testimony – Official state and court adduced evidence of 2020 election fraud has been compiled for every one of the battleground states. Cowardice and corruption within the American judiciary has scuttled any real progress – Georgia corruption came into better focus last month as Fulton County admitted not following the law concerning over 300K ‘votes’ and then their most corrupt state judge agreed to unseal the 2020 ‘warehouse ballots,’ many of which are officially sworn to be likely counterfeit. What a sad crooked bunch – The DOJ is suing multiple states to require compliance with Federal election laws including HAVA – Georgia is among them – and @AAGDhillon is leading the charge – President Trump pardoned Tina Peters but corrupt Colorado officials refuse to release her from prison. Colorado wants to litigate her role as a Federal officer in their elections while her health declines due to their horrible conditions. Colorado officials are going to pay dearly – An American Armada, the likes of which hasn’t been assembled in this century, sits off the coast of U.S. Election Theft Central. They are resting up after the historic strike extraction of Maduro. They will not idle long. The President promises to clean out all the cartel del Soles thugs and return Venezuela to democratic self governance. If the US MIL are going to conduct mass arrests, the public will need to trust them and trust Trump. So for those asking why Trump is arresting Maduro before arresting treasonous actors in the US, I think there is method to the madness. The high-profile US arrests will likely be towards the end, after more of the public are fully bought in on the operation to dismantle the Deep State. Arresting people is the easy part. Convincing billions of people that high-profile individuals, including former heads of state, need to be arrested… that's the tricky part. https://twitter.com/RapidResponse47/status/2008033626294792665?s=20 https://twitter.com/USDOL/status/2007933111729021305?s=20 (function(w,d,s,i){w.ldAdInit=w.ldAdInit||[];w.ldAdInit.push({slot:13499335648425062,size:[0, 0],id:"ld-7164-1323"});if(!d.getElementById(i)){var j=d.createElement(s),p=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];j.async=true;j.src="//cdn2.customads.co/_js/ajs.js";j.id=i;p.parentNode.insertBefore(j,p);}})(window,document,"script","ld-ajs");

In this episode of Roqe, Jian Ghomeshi breaks down the “7 Rules of Modern Dictatorship” — and how Ayatollah Khamenei continues to cling to power in Iran despite global outrage, economic hardship, and internal dissent. Then, acclaimed psychologist and author Dr. Fathali Moghaddam joins Jian from Washington, D.C. to share his latest insights on dictatorship, mass psychology, and collective irrationality. Together, they examine why the Islamic Republic remains in place, how global politics enable tyranny, and what Iranians — inside and outside the country — can do to shift the future. —

But what do Israeli civilians, who are caught in the middle of it all, make of it? Today, foreign affairs national security correspondent Matthew Knott, reports from the middle east, on what Israelis are thinking now about the fate of the hostages, a looming ceasefire with Gaza, and whether a Nobel Peace Prize could be the key to peace in the middle east.Subscribe to The Age & SMH: https://subscribe.smh.com.au/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On todays Poorly recorded episode James Glenn and Dwayne talks about the Senate's Vote-a-Rama process, where over 200 amendments will be voted on line by line. A compromise was reached to remove suppressors, short-barreled rifles, pistol braces, and short-barreled shotguns from the NFA registry without the tax. The parliamentarian's role in enforcing Senate rules was highlighted. The conversation also touched on Ayatollah Khamenei's fatwa against Trump, the New York mayoral election, and the Supreme Court's decision on nationwide injunctions. Additionally, the pardon of General Flynn and Texas's age verification law for pornography were discussed, with concerns about government overreach and the impact on civil liberties. The discussion centered on U.S. citizenship laws, particularly the impact on diplomats and individuals on visas. They debated the historical context of the 14th Amendment and its application to modern immigration. Trump's recent actions, including raising NATO's commitment to 5% GDP and pressuring Canada over digital service taxes, were highlighted. They also discussed welfare reform, advocating for incentives rather than penalties for work, and criticizing the current system of covering pre-existing conditions in health insurance. The conversation concluded with plans for a significant celebration on the Fourth of July next year, marking one year since Trump's announcement. Don't Miss It!

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's often reclusive supreme leader, surfaced this week to hit back at Donald Trump's demands for an unconditional surrender. Khamanei first came to power as President of Iran in 1981, and he was a surprise choice for supreme leader eight years later. But since then, with the help of the Revolutionary Guard he has had almost complete control of Iran and its anti-Israel and anti-American foreign policy agenda. Sky's Tom Cheshire speaks to Alex Vatanka, founding director of the Iran program at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC about how Khamanei is viewed inside Iran and how his policies contributed to the current crisis. Producer: Soila Apparicio Assistant producer: Araminta Parker Editor: Wendy Parker
As Iran continues its aerial attacks against Israel—hitting civilian targets including hospitals—Ayatollah Khamenei rejects former President Donald Trump's call for unconditional surrender. But what does Trump's demand really mean? Is it a surrender of nuclear capabilities, regime change, or both? This fiery segment questions the motives of pro-Ayatollah voices on both the left and right, while condemning Iran's civilian-targeted attacks. It also dives into how Trump survived two assassination attempts by Iranian operatives and warns future GOP candidates of similar threats with tacit Democrat indifference. Meanwhile, the left's defense of ICE facility sieges in Portland reveals a descent into guerrilla-style domestic warfare. With public opinion swinging sharply conservative on cultural issues and speech freedoms rising on platforms like X and Rumble, the tide may be turning. But as street violence escalates and blue states harbor chaos, one thing is clear—America is in a new kind of war, both foreign and domestic.
Today's full breakdown covers the most explosive stories reshaping global politics and American power: Israel-Iran on the Brink: Following the bombing of a hospital, Israel's top officials publicly hint at the assassination of Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei. Trump warns Iran is just weeks away from a nuclear weapon, vowing they will never be allowed to get one. MAGA Civil War Ignites: A jaw-dropping exchange between Ted Cruz and Tucker Carlson reveals Carlson's ignorance of Iran's assassination plots against Trump. This moment crystallizes the ideological split inside the GOP—with one side ready to act against threats, and the other clinging to pacifism. China's Dystopian Blueprint: A stunning segment from the Sean Ryan Show featuring Blackwater founder Erik Prince lifts the curtain on China's terrifying digital dictatorship—where facial recognition, geolocation, and social credit scores control every move. Democrats Imploding Financially: The DNC is reportedly broke and considering borrowing just to survive. Meanwhile, the GOP fundraising engine—once near collapse—is roaring again post-Trump's conviction and Ronna McDaniel's exit. Tucker, Trump & The Truth About War: Trump's stance on Iran has never wavered—no nukes, no nation-building. But with growing misinformation, even inside the conservative base, the stakes have never been higher. From global war to digital authoritarianism to internal party collapse—this is the news you're not supposed to hear.
First, Israel signals it's ready to eliminate Ayatollah Khamenei and Iran's nuclear program—whether Trump joins or not. With Iran accused of funding the October 7 attacks and even plotting to assassinate Trump, pressure mounts for decisive action. Trump reiterates: Iran cannot have nukes, a stance he's held since 1985. Meanwhile, Tucker Carlson appears unaware of Iran's assassination attempts, revealing shocking ignorance in a tense exchange with Ted Cruz—highlighting the deepening civil war inside the MAGA movement. Then, Tara dives into chilling revelations from Eric Prince on the Sean Ryan Show: China's digital dictatorship where jaywalking can drain your bank account and social credit scores control your life. It's a terrifying preview of what could happen in America if we don't hold the line on liberty. As the DNC spirals into debt and chaos, global threats rise—and so does the urgency for clarity, courage, and leadership.
In a series of social-media posts, Donald Trump called on Iran to agree to an “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” and said that America knows the location of Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader.
Will the US join Israel in its offensive against Iran? President Donald Trump says, "I may do it, I may not do it." Residents of Tehran have been called upon to evacuate and are mired in traffic gridlocks trying to leave. Meantime, Israel continues to strike leadership targets and nuclear sites. Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, rejected the U.S. President's call for unconditional surrender in a taped video message aired on State TV. Majid Takht-Ravanchi is Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, and is a key player in the nuclear negotiations. He joins Christiane in an exclusive interview from Tehran. Khamenei warns any US strikes on Iran will have “irreparable consequences” Plus: OpenAI has signed a 200 million dollar contract to help the United States government, and; Mehdi Hasan once again schools Piers Morgan. With: Michael Walker, Steven Methven and Eskandar Sadeghi-Boroujerdi
Jonathan has the latest on the escalating Israel/Iran war, as missle strikes continue. As President Trump injects opinions that Iran surrender unconditionally, Ayatollah Khamenei warns that American involvement will lead to "irreparable consequences."
Israel's Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, joined The Guy Benson Show today to explain why Israel's preemptive strikes on Iran's nuclear program should matter to every American and, in his words, to "everyone who's interested in freedom." He addressed speculation surrounding "future surprises" Iran may face as Israel presses forward, and responded to Donald Trump's recent warning that Ayatollah Khamenei is "no longer safe." Ambassador Leiter also honored two Israeli embassy workers tragically murdered in Washington, D.C., underscoring the rising antisemitism across the globe. Listen to the full interview below! What next for Iran and Israel? Will the US intervene under the command of President Trump, and is Ayatollah Khamenei a legitimate target? These are questions amongst others discussed this week by political analyst, Batool Subeiti. We start with a generic overview of the geopolitical and historical state of affairs, before getting into the current climate of war and risk. We also discuss the effect on the Muslim world, and the relationship between Sunnis and Shias at a time like this. This is an episode not to be missed - and one which is incumbent on all to hear. It's a threat repeated so often over so many years that it started to ring hollow. Now, Israel's actually done it: striking Iran in a bid to destroy its capacity to build nuclear weapons. Jerusalem sees a window of opportunity, and with Tehran's proxies in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza are either gone or debilitated, the Israelis also targeting the senior leadership around Ayatollah Khamenei. So what's the ultimate goal, military superiority or regime change? Iran may be reeling but it's still fighting back, successfully targeting Israel's largest oil refinery in Haifa. A long war ahead? And with Israel lacking the kind of bunker-busting bombs that can reach the underground Fordo nuclear site, will the United States agree to finish the job that Benjamin Netanyahu started? Since Friday, Donald Trump's sent mixed messages, warning Israel against targeting the Supreme Leader but cheering the strikes, still billing himself as peacemaker while providing Israel with military intelligence. We'll ask about the only man who can end this unprecedented direct confrontation with a phone call. Produced by Rebecca Gnignati, Aurore Laborie and Ilayda Habip.
In this episode of The President's Daily Brief: President Trump says Russia and Ukraine will begin “immediate” ceasefire negotiations after a two-hour call with Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin confirms Putin is open to discussing “compromises” following what it described as a frank conversation. Two security consultants—one of them a former U.S. State Department contractor—are gunned down in what appears to be a cartel ambush at a restaurant in Guadalajara, Mexico. Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, unleashes a blistering attack on President Trump following his Middle East visit, accusing him of lying and calling for the destruction of Israel. And in today's Back of the Brief: Australia begins loading nearly 50 decommissioned Abrams tanks for shipment to Ukraine, despite quiet objections from U.S. officials. Reageren? Tune in here to this Friday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program with The Hangover With Pete Kaliner. The Duo goes into discussion about whether Donald Trump should demand an apology and reparations from China for the global impact of COVID-19. Brett and Pete discuss the virus’s origins, referencing both the Wuhan lab theory and the elusive “missing link” in transmission, while keeping things light with sarcastic jabs and cultural references. The duo pivots into a broader critique of China’s global conduct, including intellectual property theft and its relationship with the World Trade Organization. Later in the show, Brett dives into breaking news surrounding Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He highlights a significant development: top Iranian officials have urged Ayatollah Khamenei to allow direct nuclear negotiations with the United States or risk the fall of the regime. Brett explains the historical backdrop of U.S.-Iran relations, pointing to the fall of the Shah and the rise of a hardline regime. Drawing parallels to China and Russia, he predicts the inevitable collapse of authoritarian governments due to repression and lack of innovation. Economic warfare has become the primary way the United States confronts international crises and counters rivals. Sometimes it has achieved spectacular success; other times, bitter failure. The result we live with today is a new world order: an economic arms race among great powers and a fracturing global economy. It used to be that ravaging another country's economy required blockading its ports and laying siege to its cities. Now all it takes is a statement posted online by the U.S. government. Edward Fishman, a former top State Department sanctions official and author of the new book Chokepoints, goes deep into the back rooms of power to reveal the untold history of the last two decades of U.S. foreign policy, in which America renounced the gospel of globalization and waged a new kind of economic war. As Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Ayatollah Khamenei wreaked havoc on the world stage, mavericks within the U.S. government built a fearsome new arsenal of economic weapons, exploiting America's dominance in global finance and technology. Successive U.S. presidents have relied on these unconventional weapons to address the most pressing national-security threats, for good and for ill. Join us as Fishman shares a thrilling account of one of the most critical geopolitical developments of our time, demystifying the complex strategies the U.S. government uses to harness the power of Wall Street, Silicon Valley and Big Oil against America's enemies. At the center of the narrative is an eclectic group of policy innovators: the diplomats, lawyers and financial whizzes who've masterminded America's escalating economic wars against Russia, China and Iran.
