welcome back, rediscover fam! happy taurus season to all you late April/May babies, and happy 31st birthday to our very own Jessica Faye! Jess is a Taurus through and through; her grounding energy holds space for everyone to find a safe space in her company, and her childlike spirit carries higher and higher with each passing year. as i told her on her birthday (5/08 baby!), she always knows when to fly and when to land. it is a privilege to be her friend and partner on this rediscover journey, and as always, today's episode is full of her beautiful perspective on life, love, and new beginnings. and speaking of new beginnings, I have a pretty major life update to share in this ep, so stay tuned for that! and in the midst of our devolvements about Ted Lasso, the new season of Bridgerton, Little Words Project (my current gig!) and of course, status updates on wedding plans, we're also giving our candid thoughts on Taylor Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, as well as the changes to the Eras Tour as it makes its way through Europe.  this month's episode is all about embracing change when it feels aligned, finding beauty in the contrast (and the chaos), and shifting perspectives. when everything feels like it's happening all at once and life feels overwhelming, saying "I GET to do this" instead of "I HAVE to do this" can make all the difference in the world. Abandoning that sense of obligation, stress, frustration, and anxiety for feelings of gratitude, excitement, joy, and purpose will bring you peace in every seaosn and circumstance, and just that small shift has the power to change your life - we promise.   Related YouTube Videos: BIRTHDAY VIDEO DIARY | Celebrating 508 in Cape Town and Journal Entry Reflection  Products Mentioned: Little Words Project: "Grow" Bracelet TikToks Mentioned: "You Might Just Be Okay" "Fortnight" country-style cover (TTPD) "But Daddy I Love Him" country-style cover (TTPD)  If you'd like to connect with us...     Jess:     Instagram: @JessicaFaye508  TikTok: @JessicaFaye508  Blog: The Road Jess Traveled --> 2.0 coming soon!  Youtube: Jessica Faye     Kristen:     Instagram: @positively.kristen

In this episode of “The Journey of My Mother's Son” podcast, I sit down to talk with Tobi Whitney. Tobi and her husband, Jeff are fellow nomads.  Her and I first connected back in 2016 when the organization that I was running at the time was establishing a girl's baseball event. Fast forward to 2022 and Jeff and Tobi begin their own nomadic adventure. Tobi and Jeff met as freshmen at UMASS Amherst and married soon after graduating. After they decided not to have children, thoughts went to retiring early and exploring the world. When Tobi retired as a flight attendant in 2022, free travel across the globe is now an opportunity. At the time, Jeff was mostly retired, working 10 hours a week remotely.  So, they sold their condo and hit the open road in a camper with their cat Milo to see the US and Canada. After 16 months of living full-time on the road, they're ready to embark on another new adventure.  This is one that will take them across the globe to Italy.  There Jeff will apply for his citizenship by descent and they plan on securing short-term leases while exploring different cultures throughout the country. Have you ever encountered a language barrier that led to a humorous or memorable situation during your travels? Share an experience when you had to overcome your fear or hesitation to try something new while living as a digital nomad.
