Romans 10:1-13 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Easter is a time when we remember our risen Savior and rejoice in the life he offers to all believers. This coming Sunday we will consider what it means to have a right standing before God. In Romans 10, the apostle Paul addresses two very different paths - the “way of works” and the “way of faith.” Some people try to secure their righteousness by doing good deeds. But Paul makes it clear that only by trusting in the One who died and rose again can we as sinners be right with God. May the gospel message be both a witness and a cause for worship this Easter.

In the world's economy, we are told that the hardest workers are rewarded, but that isn't how we work our way up to God. Our faith is just that...faith, not works. One of the key traits of an addict is lying... And it's this trait that drives everyone crazy! In the context of marriage, so often husbands think they're doing something noble by hiding their addiction to porn while their partners can't fathom why they would be so deceitful. This causes such tension in their connection, intimacy and trust and leaves them both feeling disconnected and misunderstood. The reality is, secrets lead to damaged intimacy. There's a quote we love that says "where secrets are present, intimacy is absent" and we live by it 100%. When a man decides to hide his addiction to porn, or the continued relapses to pornography, he is destroying trust and intimacy every second he keeps it a secret. And it's not only because of his wife but also because secrets are like drinking poison! This is why we want to talk in this episode about making right-standing (righteous) decisions rather than good/nice decisions (self-righteous). We're talking about the choice to honor God before you honor man, or the choice to honor emotions and feelings before God. This is HUGE, and plays an incredible role in your recovery, marriage and dignity as a human being. The main points we will cover in the show are: 1. The difference between right standing and being good 2. What does lying really do to a relationship 3. What we all need and long for as humans 4. Doing a full disclosure ("D-Day") 5. How to become a person of right standing This is an episode we believe will make a huge impact on all areas of life. Regardless if that's helping you with porn addiction, masturbation compulsion, porn-induced erectile dysfunction, betrayal trauma or other sexual struggles, we trust that God works in these places when we truly humble ourselves and surrender to His truth and not our own idea of morality. Luke 2:6-11So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all people. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” And he also said, “It is finished!
