This episode is an area I hadn't personally dived deeply into yet, and as you'll hear throughout the conversation, I experience several revelations and personal realisations about this area which showed me just how important this work is. Todays topic is about our psychological relationship with our wardrobe, the way we dress and the way we show up and present ourselves to the world. It's deeper than just what style suits each individual, it's about how we can authentically express who we are through the way we dress. Our guest today is Sarah Gale, a former project runway Australia judge turned spirit activist who has migrated from the competitive fashion industry to pioneering the journey into the aesthetics of the soul. An accredited coach and founder of Wearing Your Worth™, a revolutionary program designed to enable us to connect with our true identity and gain greater insight into our psychological relationship with our clothes, to allow us to show up in the fullness of who we are. The key topics we cover today include:How we can begin to understand what our unique psychological relationship is with our wardrobeOur subconscious programming that drives the way we dressImportance of finding your style essenceTips on bringing feminine essence into our wardrobeSarah's website is linked here: sarahgale.com.auConnect with Sarah on LinkedIn & Facebook
In her early 40s, Sarah Gale realized she often felt anxious in her clothes, despite a long career in the fashion industry and knowing how to put an outfit together. She looked great but felt insecure in many situations because she was allowing the situation or event she was dressing for, or the person she was going to meet, to dictate what she wore. She was dressing for others and how she thought they would react to her versus dressing to embody her true self. She realized that, in her wardrobe, she was still catering to external authorities, which left her on shaky ground. Guest BioFormer Project Runway Australia judge turned spirit activist, Sarah Gale migrated from the competitive fashion-industry pioneering the journey into the aesthetics of the soul. She is an Accredited Coach and Founder of Wearing Your Worth®, a revolutionary program created to enable women to gain greater insight into their psychological relationship with their clothes and use their wardrobe as an embodiment tool that is congruent with their sovereign self. A mother of two, Sarah is passionate about living an authentic life and continually honing her willingness to live a life that embodies love, courage, and pleasure. She writes from experience and shares from her heart.Turning 40 and Learning How to Tune Into - and Trust - Your Inner VoiceSarah Gale had an out of body experience when she was six years old that has stayed with her for her entire life. A voice said to her “there is more to life than this.” Even at such a young age, Sarah interpreted that as more to life than what we can all see - more than just the external. Life went on pretty normally until she was in her late 20s. She woke up one day and that voice was back; it said, “it's time.” For the next 10 years she went on a deep dive into who she really is, which included separating from her then-husband. But she felt like she was leading a double life. There was her career in the fashion industry and there was her personal development pursuit, which she kept separate from each other. In her early career in the fashion industry, Sarah found that there were things she just knew without being told or taught. They just came to her. But she didn't trust herself to rely on that inner knowing. She explained it away as a skill or a talent, essentially discrediting that the knowledge was her inner wisdom. Between a job that had her traveling all over the world and single motherhood when she was home, Sarah ran her body down. Her adrenals were shot; she had chronic fatigue. And she was feeling more and more like she had to reclaim who she really was. Then, at age 42, she had a near death experience, which really brought home the fact that she needed to slow down. Things lined up for her to be able to take 6 months off and reconfigure her life to fit who she really was - and that's when synchronicities started showing up in her life. The producers of Project Runway Australia asked her to audition to be a judge on the show, which she got and did for two seasons. This raised her profile in the industry and allowed her to start connecting her profession and her personal development pursuit. Sarah calls the forties a “fertile time” both internally and externally. We build self trust and we rebirth or reclaim the feminine energy within us. We move from trusting the external reference points and other people to trusting our own knowledge and experience. We become the authority of our own lives. Despite all this growth and exploration, Sarah realized that she still felt anxious in her clothes, despite a background in fashion and knowing how to put an outfit together. She looked great but she felt insecure in many situations. She realized it was because she was allowing the situation or event she was dressing for, or the person she was going to meet, to dictate what she wore....

Why should parties to a conflict care about climate change and the environment? This is a question that is frequently raised when discussing the intersection of climate, conflict and the environment. The connection may not be obvious, but the case for environmental protection and considering climate change during conflict is only getting stronger and more relevant. In this post, Sarah Gale, Technical Adviser with the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, explores climate and environment considerations for weapon bearers through some important considerations during situations of conflict, emphasizing the importance of respecting the rules of international humanitarian law around the protection of the environment and looking at some of the ways climate change considerations might feed into these rules. Protecting the environment during armed conflict is garnering renewed attention in light of the ongoing climate and environment crisis. At its root, however, this is not a new phenomenon. It can be seen in the deliberations of Muslim jurists as far back as the 7th and 8th centuries. Some shared questions between modern day international humanitarian law (IHL) and these historical debates include the basis on which the natural environment is protected, from which other legal elements stem. In this post, part of the War, Law and the Environment blog series with the Conflict and Environment Observatory, ICRC's Dr. Ahmed Al-Dawoody, legal advisor on Islamic law and jurisprudence, and Sarah Gale, ICRC Delegate, confirm the civilian character of the natural environment under IHL and Islamic law and that these bodies of law share similarities in the obligations of parties to a conflict to protect the environment. Such a comparison between IHL and Islamic law demonstrates the compatibility and importance of drawing on multiple legal traditions to enhance and promote the protection of the environment during armed conflict.

On Wednesday 28th December 1836 at roughly 2pm, off Pineapple Place in Maida Vale, the dismembered torso of an unidentified lady was discovered hidden behind a paving stone. With no arms, no legs and no head, her identity was impossible to determine, but the investigation and discovery of subsequent body parts unearthed one of the most brutal murders in British history.Murder Mile is researched, written and performed by Michael J Buchanan-Dunne of Murder Mile Walks with the main musical themes written and performed by Erik Stein and Jon Boux of Cult With No Name with additional music, as used under the Creative Commons License 4.0 (Attribution) via Free Music Archive and YouTube Music. Set in London in 1837, Anna Mazzola's THE UNSEEING is the story of Sarah Gale, a seamstress and mother, sentenced to hang for her role in the murder of Hannah Brown on the eve of her wedding. Perfect for any reader of Sarah Waters or Antonia Hodgson. 'A twisting tale of family secrets and unacknowledged desires. Intricately plotted and extremely convincing in its evocation of the everyday realities of 1830s London, this is a fine first novel' - The Sunday Times After Sarah petitions for mercy, Edmund Fleetwood is appointed to investigate and consider whether justice has been done. Idealistic, but struggling with his own demons, Edmund is determined to seek out the truth. Yet Sarah refuses to help him, neither lying nor adding anything to the evidence gathered in court. Edmund knows she's hiding something, but needs to discover just why she's maintaining her silence. For how can it be that someone would willingly go to their own death? Anna Mazzola's acclaimed debut novel, 'The Unseeing', focuses on a real murder case in London in 1837. Sarah Gale, sentenced to death for her role in the murder of Hannah Brown, protests her innocence - so why does she refuse to say what really happened? Speaking at the Alderney Literary Festival, Anna tells us why she became fascinated with the case, why writing about real historical figures is tricky, and why she thinks we make entertainment out of murder in the first place.
