We're sharing the top ten things we wish we'd understood before our Walt Disney World vacations, with plenty of reminders we still need today. We kick things off by talking about why you can't do everything and why that shouldn't determine whether your trip was a success. From choosing one priority for each family member to building backup plans for weather and ride closures, we discuss how a little flexibility can keep disappointment from taking over your vacation. Then we tackle the practical lessons, including an overdue investment in comfortable shoes, the value of midday pool breaks, and choosing a resort that fits how you actually travel. Whether you're spending every minute in the parks or making relaxation the main event, your hotel should match your plans and budget.Food gets its moment, too, as we explain why scheduling every meal can eat up your time and why the dining plan deserves a closer look before you commit. We also cover learning the basics before arrival, setting aside money for what matters to you, and letting your family's version of fun guide your decisions. Finally, we share why working with a travel advisor is our biggest takeaway, including how Amy with MEI-Travel helps us compare options, handle bookings, and find available savings while leaving us free to enjoy planning.Whether you're preparing for your first visit or your fiftieth, these lessons are about making your vacation feel like yours. Less pressure, more flexibility, and happier feet? That's a magical place to start. And yes, permission to skip someone else's must-do is part of the package.

☕ Teatime with Miss Liz — Monica TannerSeptember 22nd, 2026 | 7 PM ESTCommunication • Connection • Conflict Resolution • CommitmentWhat happens when two people love each other but slowly lose their connection? What happens when partners stop talking, resentment builds, and a marriage begins to feel more like a shared living arrangement than a relationship?Tonight on Teatime with Miss Liz, we're talking about the messy, beautiful and sometimes difficult reality of relationships with Monica Tanner — Relationship Coach, Relational Life Therapy Certified professional, author and podcast host.Monica's mission is to help lower the divorce rate and help couples create marriages they actually enjoy living in.Through relationship coaching, her Secrets of Happily Ever After podcast, her Amazon bestselling book Bad Marriage Advice, and her online community, Monica shares practical tools for communication, connection, conflict resolution and commitment. This conversation isn't about creating the perfect marriage. It's about learning what two imperfect people can do when they want to communicate better, repair what's been damaged, reconnect, and keep choosing one another.Teaching • Relational • Empathy & EngagementTonight's conversation grows from those four ideas:Teaching healthier relationships.Building relational connection.Leading with empathy.Choosing engagement instead of disconnection.Monica Tanner is a:• Relationship Coach• Relational Life Therapy Certified professional• Author of Bad Marriage Advice• Host of Secrets of Happily Ever After• Relationship educator and advocate for healthier communication and connectionThe title alone gives us plenty to talk about. What relationship advice have we accepted simply because we've heard it over and over again? What communication habits actually create more distance? And what can couples do when they find themselves caught in resentment, conflict or what Monica describes as “roommate syndrome”?We explore:• Communication in long-term relationships• Building and maintaining connection• Conflict resolution• Resentment and disconnection• “Roommate syndrome”• Marriage and commitment• Repair after conflict• Empathy and emotional engagement• Listening and being heard• Rediscovering curiosity about your partner• Practical ways couples can reconnect• The everyday choices that can strengthen a relationshipSomeone may be listening tonight, sitting beside the person they love, while feeling completely alone. They may not be ready to leave. They may not want to give up.They simply may not know how to find each other again. So here's the question:What is one small thing you can do tonight—not next month, not after reading ten books, but tonight—to begin moving toward connection again?Relationships aren't built only through grand romantic gestures. They're built in ordinary moments. How we speak. How we listen. How we disagree. How we apologize. How we repair. How we show empathy. How we remain curious about someone we've known for years. And how we continue choosing connection without losing ourselves.Monica brings her T-R-E-E to the Teatime table:Teaching.Relational.Empathy.Engagement.Perhaps relationships are much like trees. They need roots. They need attention. They need nourishment. They need room to grow. And when branches become damaged, sometimes they need thoughtful repair.
Join us and "Be Our Guest" as Sheila, Bill, Gary and Ric celebrate the music that has become such an important part of our Disney lives. Disney music has a way of finding a permanent place in our memories. Sometimes a song takes us back to a favorite movie, sometimes it brings back a special moment in the parks, and sometimes it reminds us of a person or a time in our lives that we never want to forget. No matter how old we get, hearing the right song can make us believe that "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" waiting just around the corner. On this episode, we each choose some of the Disney songs that mean the most to us and share the stories behind them. Some make us laugh, some bring back memories and others remind us that even when life gets difficult, sometimes all we can do is "The Next Right Thing." But we didn't want this to be only about our choices, so we decided to see "How Far I'll Go" and asked our friends and listeners to join the fun. They sent us their favorite Disney songs along with the reasons behind their choices, and their answers gave us plenty of time for a little "Reflection." Some songs brought back childhood memories. Others were tied to parents, children, spouses, vacations and moments that have stayed with people for years. A few reminded us that sometimes the "Bare Necessities" really are all we need, while others proved that a special song can make you feel like you have the entire "Circle of Life" playing out in just a few minutes. There were songs that made people want to shout "Hakuna Matata," songs that reminded them that "You'll Be in My Heart" can mean something very different depending on who you are thinking about, and songs that showed us just how many memories can be hidden in all the "Colors of the Wind." And somewhere in the middle of it all, Ric even manages to work in his own "Homespun Melody." Of course, Disney music isn't limited to the movies. For many of us, the music of the parks is every bit as powerful. A few notes can transport us back to standing in front of Cinderella Castle watching a nighttime spectacular and making "Wishes" that somehow still feel real years later. Even after the lights come back on and everyone starts heading for the exits, those melodies have a way of following us home to our own "Happily Ever After." And when it comes to Disney music, sometimes you don't even need words. A familiar melody can have your imagination soaring before you realize what you're hearing. Before long, you're mentally flying over mountains, oceans and landscapes and wondering why someone suddenly sprayed the smell of oranges into the room. That's when you know Disney music has really managed to make your spirit "Soarin'." After hearing everyone's stories, there was only one thing left to do. Ric added up the votes to find out which songs our friends and listeners chose most often. We thought we were heading toward a Top 3, but apparently Disney music decided that "We're All in This Together," because a tie turned our Top 3 into a Top 4. Which songs made it to the top? You'll have to listen to find out. We don't want to spoil the surprise, because sometimes it's more fun to "Dig a Little Deeper" and discover the answer for yourself. We're setting sail, checking in, and admitting we got one wrong! We share our private Happily Ever After fireworks cruise experience, from a scenic ride around Bay Lake and an up-close look at the Electrical Water Pageant to watching Magic Kingdom's fireworks with synchronized audio onboard. We break down the experience, the cost of splitting a boat with friends, and whether this Disney extra deserves a spot on your vacation wish list. Then, we check into Disney's Riviera Resort for our first overnight stay, and discover that visiting a resort and calling it home are two very different experiences. We cover our spacious one-bedroom villa, pool time, the resort's relaxed atmosphere, and the bathroom layout that left us wishing for a little more privacy. Plus, we revisit Riviera's Resort Wars matchup against Saratoga Springs and officially change our winner!Of course, there's plenty of food along the way, including Primo Piatto, Bar Riva, Le Petit Café, and a memorable dinner at Topolino's Terrace. From duck confit gnocchi and standout tiger shrimp to affogatos, decadent desserts, and rooftop views of Luminous, this trip gave us plenty to talk about—and a few things we're already craving again.

Weird News 1:35:17: Helen discusses the crazy situation that occurred involving Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou’s The Husky and His White Cat Shizun: Erha He Ta De Bai Mao Shizun, where the novel got announced to be a manga drawn by long-time BL artist Ayano Yamane and then days later got suspended for things the artist brought up involving anti-Chinese and anti-Korean sentiments on social media, meaning it’s now added to the pile of works not adapted into another medium. 1:41:26: So there is a proposed theme park project involving France and Saudi Arabia that was announced, and it was reported that a theme park is expected to be based on the Dragon Ball franchise — the problem? According to a French newspaper, the project has not received approval from the rights holders, so we got a current case of he said, she said! And someone is wrong. 1:46:17: Not anime, but all the same, Please Save My Earth is returning after decades to get a live-action work on Prime; the Maria Holic manga is back, getting a sequel after 12 years; TMS Anime announced that Baki Gaiden: Retsu Kaioh wa Isekai Tensei Shitemo Ikkō ni Kamawan is receiving a TV anime adaptation…for some reason! 1:50:20: We got some One Piece and Detective Conan collabs happening thanks to Universal Japan; Krispy Kreme collaborating with Pokémon; and yes, you can support Masako Nozawa turning 90 by buying a few things of hers, including a baseball hat depicting her from youth! We're creating our own inaugural Walt Disney World Legends class and inducting the attractions, experiences, places, and people that have truly earned legendary status at Walt Disney World. Before recording, we each secretly selected one nominee across 10 different categories without knowing what the other person picked. Now it's time to reveal our choices, make our cases, and ultimately agree on just ONE official Legend in each category. If we happen to nominate the same thing, the decision is easy—they're automatically in! But when our picks don't match, we have to debate until one nominee earns the induction. We start with Attraction Legend before turning our attention to something Disney fans spend plenty of time experiencing: the queues. From there, we tackle Resort Legend, Dining Legend, and Snack Legend before moving into the entertainment and transportation that have become such an important part of the Walt Disney World experience. We also dig into the sounds and music that can instantly transport you back to the parks as we choose our Audio Legend, debate which Disney character has earned legendary status specifically at Walt Disney World, and finish by honoring the Cast Member roles that have become just as iconic as some of the attractions themselves. These aren't necessarily our favorites or even what we think is the “best” today. We're considering longevity, impact, nostalgia, innovation, historical significance, guest connection, and what has become truly synonymous with Walt Disney World. Ten categories. Two nominees. One inductee in each. Who makes our inaugural Walt Disney World Legends class—and which of our picks will cause the biggest disagreement?

Epcot or Magic Kingdom? Dole Whip or Mickey pretzel? Castaway Cay or Lighthouse Point? This week Lisa puts Steve and Debbie in the hot seat for a rapid-fire (okay… not-so-rapid-fire) round of "This or That." Two options, gut-instinct answers, and a whole lot of friendly disagreement — with plenty of insider reasoning packed in along the way. Join us as Sheila and Ric chat with friend Carly Grezlik about her recent Walt Disney World vacation with her family. For Carly, it was her first visit to the parks in more than three years, and this trip was extra special as she introduced her husband, Matt, and 12-year-old daughter, Kerrigan, to the magic for the very first time. Along for the adventure was daughter Riley, celebrating her 19th birthday and already a seasoned Walt Disney World veteran alongside her mom. Over four fun-filled days, the family stayed at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort and made the most of every moment, often going from park opening until park close. Kerrigan conquered her very first roller coaster aboard Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, while the entire family agreed that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was the standout attraction of the trip. They also explored EPCOT's Kidcot Fun Stop Passport, creating memories throughout the World Showcase. Despite real-feel temperatures soaring to nearly 110 degrees, the family found surprisingly manageable crowds and packed an incredible amount into their vacation. The trip concluded in unforgettable fashion with Disney's new Starlight Parade—Carly's favorite Disney parade to date—followed by Happily Ever After from a perfect viewing spot directly in front of Cinderella Castle. Carly also shares some fun statistics from their vacation, including walking 34.5 miles in just 4½ days, taking home 20 Gideon's cookies, enjoying three Gideon's Peanut Butter Cold Brews, checking off five countries while Drinking Around the World, and, most importantly, making endless magical memories together. I was inspired to find this tale, written in 1881, by the many fawns and their mamas who walk through the woods near our Canadian island home. None of our spotted babies, though, started out as a princess with a curse! You have to hear it to appreciate this tale of fairies, a wicked crab, Happily Ever After, and sweet dreams. What does Headship and Authority actually look like? Many modern marriages struggle because men and women have rejected God's blueprint for Marriage where the Husband is the Head of His wife as Christ is the Head of the Church. But what does that mean? Headship today is culturally taboo and automatically assumed to be tyranny or abuse. But Biblical Headship is a husband's sacrificial, dying to self, Christ-like leadership for the good blessing, and flourishing of his wife. This sermon aims to clarify the distinct roles of marriage and explain how Headship is part of the creation order for marriage and not a result of the Fall. Learn the difference between biblical patriarchy, complementarianism, egalitarianism, and functional feminism that plagues Churches and marriages today as well as how to avoid the ditches of abuse and abdication, and embrace servant leadership modeled after Jesus leading with humble strength “till death do us part.”Whether you're a husband seeking a clear vision for godly leadership, a wife wanting to understand joyful biblical submission, or anyone wrestling with gender roles in a confused culture, God's Word can help you build your own Happily Ever After.

We're wrapping up an unforgettable Fourth of July weekend at Walt Disney World with plenty of food, fireworks, resort updates, and a few surprises along the way. We kick things off by giving shoutouts to some amazing members of the Main Street Magic community we had the chance to meet before diving into the latest changes around Disney's Polynesian Village Resort—including an update to Wailulu Bar & Grill's menu and the unexpected reason Disney has eliminated zero-proof cocktails across its owned restaurants. From there, we eat our way through the weekend with breakfast at Steakhouse 71, featuring Walt's Prime Rib Hash, seasonal pancakes, a build-your-own omelet, and some must-order sides before heading poolside to Barefoot Pool Bar for refreshing drinks and spicy honey pork wings. We also stop by Trader Sam's Grog Grotto to sample several appetizers and then chat about finishing the trip at Tambu Lounge with a couple of classic favorites. Along the way, we share our thoughts on the new Disney Springs bus procedures, recap what it's like spending Independence Day at Disney's Polynesian Resort, and discuss everything from fireworks to crowd levels to whether this holiday weekend is worth experiencing for yourself. Whether you're planning your next Walt Disney World vacation, looking for honest Disney dining reviews, or just want to spend some time hanging out with us, this episode is packed with food, fun, Disney updates, and plenty of holiday magic.

This apparently set Helen’s Bluesky timeline on fire once news was posted there, and both hosts discuss some background details involving this manga over the past few months. Main Topic: Spring Anime 2026 Final Impressions 38:57: Justin and Helen take no breaks and hop right into wrapping up the Spring anime season, which featured a good amount of standouts (Witch Hat Atelier, Ramparts of Ice, Dorohedoro S2) and some mostly solid works (An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess, Always a Catch, Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?). Weird News 1:24:50: Welp, this section is the all industries are over, as AI this and AI that has taken over the minds of people who ultimately are trying to get away with being cheap — first with this anime done by an AI animation company that looks familiar in some cases if you stare long enough; then you have the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry considering providing subsidies of 11.5 billion yen (about US$71 million) to 15 eligible media companies aiming to increase overseas sales — the subsidies would aim to encourage the companies to utilize generative AI to translate their works. Welp again! 1:34:59: It’s 2026 and we have The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t a Guy at All getting a pretty superb adaptation — from how it looks to them having Dave Grohl say that Kurt Cobain would have loved Green Yuri, which got Helen to know all about Kurt Cobain; We also have Bamco (Filmworks and Pictures) having to apologize for making an unauthorized references to a number of works — in particular Attack on Titan — in their Sgt. Frog anime film. 1:38:04: Many questions have arisen with the announcement of Netflix working on a live-action Persona TV series, and one of them has Justin wondering why anyone let this be announced at all. Wondering whatever happened to your fairy tale ending? Unmet expectations leave many couples struggling with bitterness and resentment. But what if your fairy tale ending isn't what you think it is? If we want a Happily Ever After we need to make our goals for marriage God's goals. God gives us six biblical purposes for marriage that will transform disappointment and conflict into a Christ-centered, sanctifying, joy-filled union. From the glory of Christ and gospel-shaped roles, to sexual holiness, raising godly children, mutual help, and lifelong friendship — learn how to replace unrealistic expectations with God's design for a marriage that lasts “till death do us part.”Whether your marriage is struggling, thriving, or you're preparing for the future, this sermon will reset your vision and equip you with hope and practical wisdom taught from Scripture.

Season 6, Episode 750: When was the last time you talked about sex with your partner? In this episode, you will learn how to break the silence with tips and insights from relationship coach Monica Tanner. It's hard to talk about sex, our culture has made sure of that for us! And has done us ZERO favors in the process! Some truths from our chat include the following: the brain is your primary sexual organ (sexual satisfaction and intimacy depend more on mental engagement and psychological connection than physical mechanics), most people are unprepared for sexual communication (we are NOT taught or encouraged to do this), and self-pleasure is essential for partnered intimacy (we must LEARN about our bodies and pleasure pathways in order to communicate them to our partner). Come listen with an open mind, and leave with a plan to have better sex and intimacy with your partner! Before we let the wonder take hold, here are five fast facts about Happily Ever After. 1. Happily Ever After officially debuted at Magic Kingdom on May 12, 2017. 2. The music for the show was arranged by Tim Heintz. 3. The show's theme song, Happily Ever After, was written by Adam Watts, Melissa Peirce, and Andy Dodd, and performed by Angie Keilhauer and Jordan Fisher. 4. The original version of the show closed on September 29, 2021, but reopened with new projection mapping effects and more on April 3, 2023. 5. The title of the show and the theme song both came from Hong Kong Disneyland's 10th anniversary celebration. Let's go get our seats for Happily Ever After. After the show I'll give you my thoughts on this classic attraction. “You know my love language is physical touch, and yet you withhold sex, and that’s why I drink.” Relationship and Sex Therapist Monica Tanner joins Sheri and Matt to talk about ways The Five Love Languages are sometimes weaponized, and to dispell myths about our responsibility to make our partner’s feel loved. There are important lessons within the love languages about curiosity and communication, while at the same time, we remain responsible for getting out own needs met. Monica’s positivity radiates through this conversation, and is featured in her book, Bad Marriage Advice, and her podcast, Secrets of Happily Ever After. There's a moment at the end of a long day in a Disney park. The lights are low. The crowd gathers. The music starts to swell. And for a few minutes, everything feels bigger than it should like you're part of something shared, something emotional, something lasting. A Day in the Counter Kingdom was built to capture that feeling… and flip it on its head. The Full Experience This isn't just an album. It's a full playthrough experience a start-to-finish journey through a reimagined version of the Disney Parks, where nostalgia meets distortion, optimism meets aggression, and familiar melodies are pushed into entirely new territory. In this episode of The Leal Legacy Podcast, you can listen to the entire album in one sitting the way it was intended. No breaks. No interruptions. Just the ride. Reimagining the Parks Through Sound Each track on A Day in the Counter Kingdom takes a familiar piece of Disney Parks music and rebuilds it through a different genre: Pop punk Hardcore Metalcore Screamo Deathrock Ska punk Not as parody but as reinterpretation. Because at their core, these songs were always built on strong melodies, emotional hooks, and shared experience the same foundation that drives punk and hardcore music. The Journey Through The Counter Kingdom The album flows like a full day in the park: You start on Main Street U.S.A., stepping into something familiar. You move into imagination and creativity with One Little Spark. You feel the emotional rise and intensity of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah and There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow. Then things shift. The world darkens. Grim Grinning Ghosts pulls you into the shadows.Yo Ho unleashes chaos. It's a Small World becomes something surreal and unsettling. By the time you reach Blood on the Saddle, you've hit the heaviest, most intense point of the journey. And then… You come back. Happily Ever After closes it out not as a return to innocence, but as something earned. More Than Covers A Day in the Counter Kingdom isn't about recreating what already exists. It's about exploring what these songs become when they're viewed through a completely different lens. What happens when nostalgia meets rebellion? What happens when Disney magic is filtered through distortion, breakdowns, and raw emotion? This album is the answer to that question. Experience The Counter Kingdom This full album playthrough is the definitive way to experience A Day in the Counter Kingdom. Whether you're here for the nostalgia, the music, or the reinterpretation this is where it all comes together. Tracklist: Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street U.S.A. One Little Spark Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow Grim Grinning Ghosts Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me) It's a Small World The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room Blood on the Saddle Happily Ever After Press play. This episode opens with Daniel and Adam in their characteristic loosely-structured warm-up mode — microphone technique, drive-thru misgendering, and the mechanics of speaking in a low voice — before pivoting to Daniel's running update. With the Walt Disney World Springtime Surprise 10-miler two weeks out, he recaps a disrupted training week: a rainy, post-birthday Sunday led to a schedule shift (Monday/Wednesday/Friday instead of the usual Sunday anchor run), costing him his long run. He now owes himself an 8-miler and a 9-miler on back-to-back Sundays, with Adam's upcoming Florida visit landing squarely in the middle of that ramp-up.The lion's share of the episode is Daniel's birthday recap, and it's dense with Disney granularity. The evening moved from the Enchanted Rose lounge at the Grand Floridian, to a standout dinner at Citrico's (filet, rare, Cabernet demiglace, a non-committal Canadian waitress, and a woman whose perfume forced Darwin out of the dining room entirely), to a prime Main Street viewing of Happily Ever After. Daniel catalogues the fireworks show's 3D shaped pyrotechnics with the fluency of a man who has seen it "a thousand million times." The night capped with a minor maritime adventure: a young cast member had to dock a free-floating ferry in choppy, wind-driven conditions, missed on the first attempt, nailed it on the second, and received a full-boat standing ovation. Adam's contribution to the birthday segment is that he spent the same weekend navigating a three-call odyssey through Blue Cross to pay $20 for new health insurance he obtained through healthcare.gov — a saga involving wrong department routing, an unhelpful Walmart insurance rep, and a voice IVR he openly argued with. The back half of the episode covers two pop culture tangents. First, Jeopardy: Daniel watched a YouTube-only celebrity episode featuring Rebecca Black, Monet X Change, and comedian/Dungeon Master Brendan Lee Mulligan, whom Daniel evangelizes with obvious enthusiasm. Mulligan missed Final Jeopardy and still won by $6,000. This detours into both hosts airing their longstanding grievances with Wheel of Fortune strategy (vowel buyers, puzzle solvers who won't commit letters). Second, a listener phone call from Tony in Illinois delivers a Little Rascals/Buckwheat "dictate" joke, which prompts a good-faith but inconclusive on-air debate about whether the joke is racist. The episode closes with logistics: no show next week (Adam is in Florida), a possible Level 13 bonus drop during the visit, and the race weekend show returning the Friday after.Email: Contact@MixMinusPodcast.comVoice/SMS: 707-613-3284

When the luteal phase hits, couples often slide into the same argument pattern, then spend the “good weeks” trying to forget it ever happened. We wanted something more useful than replaying the past, so we brought in Monica Tanner, a couples coach who helps partners spot the pattern, name it, and choose a different step.We get practical about luteal phase communication, including why both partners are part of the dynamic and how unmet needs quietly turn into avoidance, bitterness, and distance. Monica explains how couples can build awareness of their “dance,” share what they're capable of during different cycle phases, and negotiate real solutions that protect connection without forcing either person to pretend they feel fine. Then we go straight into intimacy. Monica breaks down three pillars for a healthier sex life: emotional safety, understanding spontaneous versus responsive desire, and bringing back playful energy when things feel heavy or “roommate-like.” We also talk about widening the menu so intimacy isn't limited to one definition of sex, and how simple check-ins can reduce insecurity and spiraling after a sexual moment. If you're navigating a PMDD relationship, dating with PMDD, or trying to rebuild closeness after a long dry spell, this one is packed with tools you can use immediately. In this powerful episode of What Are You Made Of?, host Mike "C-Roc" sits down with relationship coach Monica Tanner for an honest, insightful, and surprisingly fun conversation about what really makes a marriage last. Monica, an RLT-trained coach and host of the Secrets of Happily Ever After, shares how her parents' divorce at age 12 shaped her life's mission: lowering the divorce rate and helping couples move from resentment and “roommate syndrome” back to real connection. With vulnerability and humor, Monica opens up about her own abandonment fears, anxious attachment patterns, and the years of intentional trust-building that strengthened her 23-year marriage. She and Mike "C-Roc" dive into the realities of communication differences between men and women, why “don't sweat the small stuff” might actually be terrible advice, and how unspoken frustrations about things as small as toilet paper rolls and light switches can quietly erode intimacy over time.Monica also unpacks insights from her Amazon best-selling book, Bad Marriage Advice, challenging common myths that keep couples stuck in cycles of resentment. Instead of avoiding conflict, she explains why skillfully addressing small issues early creates safety, respect, and deeper emotional connection. From overcoming insecurity and jealousy to building secure attachment and lasting trust, this episode is packed with practical strategies couples can apply immediately. If you've ever wondered whether “happily ever after” is still possible in the real world, Monica Tanner makes a compelling case that it absolutely is—but only when couples choose intentional communication, commitment, and compassion.ebsite-https://monicatanner.com Social Media Links/Handles:https://www.instagram.com/monitalksmarriagehttps://www.youtube.com/@secretsofhappilyeverafter

Dating again in midlife can stir up a mix of curiosity, hope, and very real hesitation. After divorce, it's not just about meeting someone new, it's about trusting your instincts and believing that love can feel different this time. Susan Guthrie welcomes back one of Divorce & Beyond's most trusted and favorite guests, Bela Gandhi, for an honest, encouraging conversation about what it truly takes to move from fear to confidence when dating again in midlife. Known as America's go-to dating coach and beloved by the Divorce & Beyond community, Bela brings warmth, optimism, and refreshingly practical wisdom to a chapter that often feels overwhelming. Together, Susan and Bela unpack why midlife dating can actually be better than ever, how to stop repeating old patterns that no longer serve you, and what smart, intentional dating looks like when you're choosing differently and more consciously this time around. What You'll Learn Why fear around dating after divorce is normal How those “rollercoaster butterflies” are usually a sign of anxiety, not chemistry, and how to recognize calm as a healthier sign of compatibility How dating today offers more options, visibility, and agency than ever before, especially for midlife daters Why confidence in dating comes from having a clear plan, not luck, timing, or instant sparks How slowing down and allowing connection to develop over time leads to better long-term outcomes About the Guest Bela Gandhi is a dating/relationship expert, TEDx speaker, founder of Smart Dating AcademyÒ and has been featured on most national/local media outlets including Good Morning America, Steve Harvey, the Today Show, Kelly Clarkson, Access, ABC, NBC, Fox, and more. Bela realized her gift for love when she was in college and started matchmaking and coaching her friends – watching them sail on to relationship bliss and marriage. Using her own system, Bela found her own amazing husband of over 20 years, and in 2009, founded Smart Dating AcademyÒ. Smart Dating Academy teaches singles all over the globe the Smart DatingÒ four phase system – 1) Preparing to Date, 2) Dating, 3) Exclusivity and 4) Happily Ever After. They specialize in VIP 1:1 coaching, and with clients that have followed their system, they've had ‘zero divorces.' They help singles to ‘fix their pickers' because their coaches are deep in the weeds with clients, helping read profiles, message, and rate each date after it happens – she makes dating fun, easy and successful! Before starting Smart Dating Academy, Bela earned dual degrees in Finance and German from the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign. Bela worked in mergers and acquisitions for Arthur Andersen in Chicago for a year before joining her family's chemicals manufacturing company (called CCC), where she divided her time between Chicago and Europe helping to expand the business. When they sold the business to Fortune 500 company Akzo Nobel, she was asked to remain its leader and became Akzo Nobel Non-Stick Coating's Global Vice President of Housewares. While climbing the corporate ladder, she realized it was time to unveil her system to the world, and it was her best decision ever. Bela lives in Lincoln Park with her husband Andy and 2 children, Jaden and Max, and is going to be an empty nester next year!
