We do What's Saving My Life episodes regularly, just about every quarter, and I find the practice helpful, light, enjoyable, and necessary to keep me rooted in my season. But today is a little different because it is a Hall of Fame episode. Remember, this is my personal list. This is not supposed to be replicated. Hear why these things are on my list to help you make yours, but by no means should our lists be the same. It's summer y'all! In times past I have shared the top ten things that are saving my life that season. You enjoyed the past episodes, so I wanted to do one specific to summer and what things are saving my life in this current season. These include things associated with parenting, kids, work, time management, personal care, mental capacity etc. Grab a notebook so that you can write down and take away what works for you. Hopefully some of these things might spark your creativity and give you ideas of things you can do this summer to bring more joy into your life, and your family's lives. Let's get started! I pray this blesses you! Michelle PS. If you need some extra accountability or help with productivity hacks, time management tools, mapping out a more efficient daily or weekly schedule, time blocking and so much more. Show notes: https://www.tamihackbarth.com/blog/episode-227 May was a LOT. I am so happy to be heading into the summer season to make some memories, finish some projects, read a lot and spend time with my family. Around here we call this season the Summer of Intentionality. I learned about it from my pal Rosie Molinary. Rosie met a boy at a college party who could recite long poems from memory. She was impressed and asked him how he was able to do it. His answer is what became the SOI. I tell more of the story on this week's podcast along with things that are saving my life this season.
We do this episode every season, and I have seven things to share with you. But what do you do when things that normally save your life don't work in a new season? No need to rush because spring will be here soon enough. Over in my Facebook group I asked everyone what is saving your life this week. The answers were varied and I got some great ideas for my own list. In this week's podcast, I am sharing What Is Saving My Life.

Before Coach Mo was a golf professional and host of the "Coach Mo Golf Show," she was a survivor. In the spring of 2012, Gesualdi received a life-saving liver transplant and a survived a highly lethal fungal infection in her brain called Invasive Aspergillus.Mo's story before life as a golf professional is one you wouldn't imagine, and she's here today to sit down with her Aunt Caryn, her medical health proxy and "life-savior" to share their story together. In 2012, at age 26, Mo's liver was in acute liver failure and in need of a transplant and fast. During a liver biopsy, her liver was “nicked” causing unnoticed internal bleeding taking an already unfavorable situation, and turning months before needing into a desperate few hours.A CODE BLUE was called when Mo collapsed one evening and the doctors fought to stabilize her while she lost her pulse four times in a matter of a few hours. The internal bleeding expedited Mo's need for a liver transplant, and doctors told her family there was only a 24-48 hour window for a live-saving transplant. Time was completely against her, but before the end of the day, her medical team got word there was a possible match and started to prep her for a transplant. Early the next morning, May 3, 2012, Mo was the recipient of a miraculous, life-saving liver transplant. While the transplant was a great success, the worst was actually yet to come. Within a few days of her transplant, her brain began swelling. Mo had extreme headaches and was seeing flashing colored lights, and hearing voices. After an MRI, Mo's medical team discovered that she had contracted a lethal fungal infection in her brain, caused in part to the immunosuppression required after an organ transplant. The only option for survival was a very risky brain operation. Hear Coach Mo and her Aunt Caryn share their stories and experiences before, during, and after her time spent in the hospital surrounding their battle to save Monique's life.To become a registered organ donor, please visit: www.donatelife.comContact Coach Mo@coachmogolfprowww.coachmogolfpro.commgesualdi@stjohnsgolf.comThe Golf Academy at St. Johns Located at St. Johns Golf & CC in St. Augustine/St. Johns, FL@thegolfacademy_st.johnswww.stjohnsgolf.com

Just kids...at home...all day...24/7! So how do we still get things done, feel mentally relaxed, and enjoy the time our kids are home instead of counting down the days until school starts? Hi, I'm Andi Smiley, the Friendly Podcast Guide. And I'm going to tell you what is saving my life right now. I first heard this phrase from Kendra Adachi, the host of The Lazy Genius podcast and she said she got this idea from author Barbara Brown Taylor. Barbara Brown Taylor asks and answers this question in her memoir, Leaving Church. I really like the idea of focusing on the things that are making my life better, it helps me to see those things easier in my every day life. And as a stay at home mom of 3 littles 5 years old and younger in the winter where it's too cold for my kids to easily go outside, I need all the help I can get. I hope that you can find a nugget of info that can help you with your life, but more than anything I hope that listening to my list of 10 things can inspire you to make your own list of things that are saving your life right now. It just felt like the right time to share a saving my life right now episode. It's been a busy winter for all of us and these little happiness boosters could help you like they help me. I hope you share yours with me as well!
We do these episodes about once a quarter for two reasons. One, it's a wonderful practice that I want to remind you of as often as possible. And two, because our seasons of life change, so do the things that save them. It's really important to me that we pay attention to seasonal practices so that we get off that train of a linear life that goes from start to finish. That's not how life works, so let's remember what is working for us, bringing us joy, and saving our lives right now.Helpful Companion LinksOther episodes like this one: #251 - What's Saving My Life Right Now, #286 - What's Saving My Life, #236 - 10 Things Saving My Life Right Now, #275 - What's Saving My Life Right NowNorth Carolina candle by HomesickSunshine Curry video on InstagramThe Next Right Thing PodcastNecklace separatorGet the Latest Lazy Letter to see my book reviews every month.Sign up for the Latest Lazy Listens email.Grab a copy of my book The Lazy Genius Kitchen or The Lazy Genius Way!Download a transcript of this episode. In this episode, we discuss why everything is hard (just kidding, no answers here. Why IS everything so hard?); behaviors, routines, and material acquisitions that are helping take the edge off; behaviors that reduce my daily annoyance level and make it easier to enjoy my dogs (stationing/crating from a distance, putting their own collars on, picking up my ear buds when they fall, especially under furniture, Cavaletti, front and back paw targets); routines (nail trimmers on same hook as leashes, feeding out of slow feeders, Zoom training meetups); and material acquisitions (dry erase sleeves, pony jet, Bissel machine, slime flat tire machine). Today's instalment of DMs in the DMs sets the tender tone for today's episode, as D shares a message she received about grief. Your hosts then welcome back Internal Medicine Physician and founder of End Well, Dr. Shoshana Ungerleider, to update everyone on significant personal changes since we last heard from her. Her father has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and she herself has been found to be BRCA positive. Dr. Shoshana is on a mission to let people know that this mutation is incredibly prevalent, and that the testing for it needs to increase. If it weren't for her dad's illness, she would have never thought to test. She shares why she thinks providers aren't aware of the link with the BRCA gene, how the mutation may actually extend her father's life, how it's important for men to get tested as well, and the lifestyle changes she's made as a result of testing positive. For many people, genetic testing may be covered if you have a first degree relative with certain types of cancer, but if you're not, you can seek out a genetic counselor and decide with them if it makes sense for you to be tested. This episode dispels the myth of BRCA only being associated with breast cancer, highlights the importance of knowing your family history, and touches on the balance of being both a provider and a family member of someone suffering. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Shoshana for her honesty and vulnerability, and hope to assist her in advocating for increased access to genetic testing. Listen to our last episode with Dr. Shoshana here. You can also find her article in Newsweek here and can seek a genetic counselor at findageneticcounselor.nsgc.org. We welcome the beautiful Jacqueline Prieto, a Mom of 2 beautiful sons, owner of Lux Contour Dallas and a licensed Life Insurance Agent. She is beyond blessed and grateful to have survived a terrible car accident in July 2020 only 1 mile from her house in the middle of the day. It is a true miracle and she most definitely saw Jesus through her recovery guiding her by her hand. The story is unbelievable, from the police officer and another man rescuing her out of the burning vehicle to the officer crying when she called him to thank him. He didn't think she would survive. 34 cop cars showedup to the accident. Jacquie is a huge believer in seatbelts and encourages everyone to wear their seatbelts all the time, even when driving close to your home. Her injuries were horrendous and severe and the worst part was that there was nobody allowed in the hospital with her because it was during Covid19 - she was desperate for human interaction. She begged a nurse to hold her hand. Her brain injuries were very serious and she has had to give herself grace to allow herself time to heal. She says that it was so frustrating because she was so active before the accident and besides all the other injuries the accident made her lose her vision for 5 months. She was disabled in every way. Going from fully capable to disabled in an instant overnight was the worst thing and very hard to deal with mentally. Her sons never left her side and they do not like to talk about the accident. Her car was a Jeep Commander which is a car meant for war. After seeing the damage to her car she cannot believe that God brought her through this and it is truly a miracle. After not being able to move for months and indulging in all her Mom's delicious cooking Jacquie found cavitation liposuction. She became so passionate about it and went to school for it and opened a business. Then we talk about all the lawsuits with Cool Sculpting when things go terribly wrong like with Linda Evangelista who has now a deformed face because of this procedure. Jacquie has clients that come to her to help get rid of Cool Sculpting knots and clients that have lumps that need to be removed from Lipo360. Jacquie says the recovery from Lipo360 is insane. Gabrielle says that all this lipo etc is all too much. She gets very passionate about stopping all this craziness. Marcella talks about that the fat has to go somewhere and will show up in other places eventually, especially when people think these things are quick fixes and don't change their lifestyles. Jacquie is about to open a brand new location where you can get cavitation lipo, a blow dry, EM Sculpt etc etc. Jessica Simpson just posted about having EM Sculpt on her face. We talk about BBL being the most deadly and dangerous procedure you can get. Marcella is all into face yoga. We talk about the amazing Joanna Czech and her amazing celebrity facials. Her hands are magic and her facials cost anywhere from $800 to $ 1300 each. Jacquie also does hair and make up and just recently has become a life insurance agent. She will be opening her own life insurance agency. She explains all the benefits and how it is beneficial for investing. Stay tuned for Part 2 when Jacquie tells us the most shocking story we have heard to date on our podcast .........................................................

It's a question often asked and answered by writers and podcasters alike and it's easy to see why — it's simple, it's direct, and it's deeply thought provoking. Along with making a list of what I'm learning each season, I also love to make note of what's saving my life. Thanks to Barbara Brown Taylor for bringing this question into the public conversation, and to John Claypool to asking it of her so many years ago. So that's today's episode. Listen in. It's the question Barbara Brown Taylor asks and answers in her memoir, Leaving Church, and one many of us have carried forward to ask and answer as well. The best questions are shareable and re-answerable and today I'll share my list of what's saving my life. Because when you are in a season of discernment and decision-making (which is almost always), it's helpful to name and celebrate where the life comes from. Listen in.
