Have you ever felt imbalanced by giving far more than you allowed yourself to receive?Have you ever bottomed out in over giving? It's not just the holidays that can ask a lot of us. Life does. Giving and receiving go hand in hand and they must be balanced in order to be sustainable. I've found the receiving part of the equation is where many of us get stuck. There is an art to receiving. Moving beyond a duality mindset is one of the most helpful steps to living your life in more creation. Reminder, duality is seeing the world in black and white and having a perpetual judgement or rejection of one of these polarities. It's right vs. wrong, good vs. bad, worthy vs. unworthy, etc. When you move into seeing in non-duality (from the unconditional love of the heart), you gain the ability to hold space for both polarities to be one. But making this shift towards more love is helpful when you can spot the moments when duality creeps in. In this episode I'm sharing one of the big red flags that tell me when I'm in the ego and seeing from the dualistic mind. Resonance is a means of Divine communication to guide our life. And it can often feel like a joy or a block in our own relationships. In this episode we are going to explore the different ways that we can change our resonance to help improve our relationships. Most importantly, we will explore how our body is our resonant instrument and how caring for the body is the #1 way to improve resonance and resolve any interference that may be blocking our ability to feel connected to those around us. Resonance is hard to describe with words because its really all about feeling. And yet, you have likely had the experience of what it's like to resonate highly with a person or idea or activity vs. what it's like to not have resonance with something. We can often judge ourselves or others based on resonance, when really it's not about who's right or who's wrong and more about being a form of guidance and communication from the Divine to help us navigate our path in the way that will bring us the most joy. The more we can learn to follow high resonance and allow low resonance to just be what it is without judgement, the happier we will be. It's easy to get caught up in black and white thinking. We can see the world in terms of right and wrong, or good or bad. This is the home of the ego and the voice of judgement that lives in our mind. I don't know about you, but this is a hard place to live. Love is conditional, peace only comes when everything is going the way you want it to, and since we don't have control over the external world, this is also a fragile place to live. In this episode I'm going to share a simple story with you that can help us unlearn this dualistic thinking and see the world with more inclusion rather than judgement. Cancel culture is not my favorite thing. I do admit, there is a sort of thrill the ego gets in being able to cling to what it thinks is right and metaphorically destroy opposition by cancelling someone through unfollows, unsubscribes, or public declarations of rejection. But you know what? The thrill is totally short lived. And it's empty. And more importantly, it is a place of contraction not creation. When you live in duality (black and white thinking), cancelling any voice that is different than your view can be an automatic response. But the more we can expand our mind and heart into non-duality (oneness), the more we can find and retain connection with the beautiful humans around us.This is most definitely a practice...AND...it's worth every effort. One of my favorite lessons from Autumn, is the importance of letting go.Mother Nature makes the process look beautiful and graceful, and dare I say, "easy".But is it easy? How easy is it for you to let things go?It all depends on how attached we are to something. The tighter we are grasping at something the harder it will be to let it go. In this weeks Co Create Podcast I'm sharing a framework that has forever changed the way I view attachments. It comes from author Don Miguel Ruiz Jr, in his book, The Five Levels of Attachment. We all have a window of tolerance for what we are willing to feel before we go into contraction and block ourselves from going any further. This happens for both ends of the spectrum. We have a window of tolerance for how much suffering we will endure and how much happiness and joy and pleasure we allow ourselves to feel as well. In this episode I'm going to share with you how I personally learned to go beyond my edges when I thought I just couldn't handle feeling more. Toxic Productivity is an easy trap to get caught in. Our society has placed high value on outputs and outcomes and the pressure is high to always have something to show for your time spent. Productivity in and of itself is neutral. However, when we become obsessive and use the focus on outcomes to drive our life it robs us of the gift of living in the present. Let's find balance so we can be better co creators. This is part 3 in a series I'm calling "Reclamation of Feeling". In this episode we're talking about spiritual bypassing. This was a term I've only learned in the last few years but I have experienced this emotional block my entire life, as I'm sure you have as well. Knowing what it is and what it looks like has been a key piece in learning how to regulate my emotions and move through things with more love and compassion. If you've ever tried to change how you feel by doing spiritual tools, if you've ever tried to just be more positive and optimistic, if you've ever tried to just look on the bright side or be more grateful and sometimes experienced that these things didn't help you feel better, this episode will explain why that can happen. You'll be able to spot where you do this to yourself, and perhaps when you might project this onto others in effort to fix emotions we judge as wrong or bad. What if there isn't actually anything to fix? What if there's just things that need to be felt? This approach can make all the difference.SHOWNOTES:Gain access to the meditations that go along with course on the Co Create app.Use code ONEHEART30 for a free 30 days on the app.Find the Co Cocreate app in the Apple App StoreFind the Co Create app in the Google App StoreThe Co Create App gives you access to over 100+ Guided Meditations, new Yoga Classes, Inspirational Audio Courses, and community Challenges to support you in living into your true identity as the creator of your life. In this episode we are going to explore how to travel from one emotional state to another. We've all experienced what it's like to have emotions we resist, where we wish in the moment to feel different. To feel better, whatever better is. But the challenge with emotion, is that you don't immediately go from a low state to a high state. You don't immediately go from feeling anger to feeling happy. Or from disappointment to contentment. Especially if you are actively resisting what you are feeling in the moment. There's too big of a gap between the two states, and in today we are going to learn about what exists in the gap. It's what I call The Land of Observation, and knowing about this place in the gap has been transformative in my journey of Reclamation of Feeling. Hello internet! This week's episode is all about the history of American YOGA CLASSES as well as some etiquette for taking a class! Enjoy and be sure to share with a friend!
Well, this is an unusual episode!! Since I released a podcast episode last year about my group class planning process I've been getting more and more questions about my unique teaching style. It's been described as Buddha Dharma Meets Corrective Exercise With A Little Vinyasa In The Middle For Some Fun. It's a specific style that has been cultivated over almost 20 years of very full time teaching, and I especially love the way it lands online and in an audio format. So this episode is a short explanation, and then a full length practice! You might find it interesting to listen to even if you can't or don't want to do the physical part of the practice. Is this weight loss mistake helping you lose weight? Is the scale your friend or foe? How often are you weighing yourself? When you weigh yourself does it bring up feelings, maybe good, maybe bad? Today I'm going to be sharing something I recently coached one of my clients through. Questions to ask yourself: 1. Are you using the scale to control your weight? 2. Do you feel like crap after weighing yourself sometimes? 3. What is your goal? Bigger vision for your health? 4. Do you already know if you don't feel good from how you have been eating or not moving? 5. What other ways can you get feedback if things are going well? Mentioned in this episode:
We're divided inside. We have a true self, and we have an ego.Another way to say the same thing, is that we have a divine self and we have a human self. We're both fully divine and fully human. We have been taught to judge our humanness as shameful. Or maybe we've even been taught that divinity is something we earn or become if we prove ourselves worthy enough?Could it be, that true wholeness is learning how to unite our two selves into one? If I reject my humanness, I reject half of who I am. This is not wholeness. Its halfness. Wholeness is learning how to unite the divide, not eliminate the half we judge as bad. My intention with this One Heart podcast, is to offer insight, stories, and experiences for how we can be whole. Both fully divine AND fully human. Love brings wholeness. Judgement brings separateness.SHOWNOTES:Receive my free "I love and accept you" Meditation on the Co Create App.Find it in the Apple App StoreFind it in the Google App StoreThe Co Create App gives you access to over 100+ Guided Meditations, new Yoga Classes, Inspirational Audio Courses, and community Challenges to support you in living into your true identity as the creator of your life. In this episode we're going to talk about what the difference is between duality and non duality. I like to think of duality as similar to polarity. It's living in a black and white experience of life. Non duality is learning to close the gap between polarities to achieve wholeness. If we desire to live with One Heart, this is an important concept to understand. We are all designed to evolve, it's part of our nature. The body you have as a baby is not the same body you have as an adult. It changed. It evolved. It grew. Likewise, your lifestyle, your beliefs, who you are and how you see the world, are meant to go through a similar evolution. We could safely say that the only constant in the world is change. Everything in nature, reflects the constant change in all things...Nothing is static. Even when the rose is in full bloom in summer, the peak season will shift and the petals will drop and winter comes and eventually spring brings a new rebirth of the rose. There is death and rebirth many times over for the rose and for each of us. Yet, so often we resist the change we see happening in ourselves or those we love. In this episode we'll explore how to embrace the evolution of people, and trust that the cycle of death and rebirth holds so much more than meets the eye if we can have faith and trust the process.
