Be sure to check out some of our previous shows. Corrections Our first correction is in regard to our last episode, all about Snow White's Scary Adventure. A great memory shared and we feel you! How has a minor correction about the figures from Snow White's Scary Adventure, Disneyland Paris, duplicate figures and some other tidbits. Brian & How recently rode Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and How walks us through the repurposed figures, which you can go see right now. We also hear about a recent loss Brian experienced... Which relates very well to an old Eric Boardman Disney Channel video. Listener Mail Kicking things off, Tom wrote us from New Hampshire - asking what our own personal Holy Grail item would be from Walt Disney World. This could include merchandise, ride pieces and anything else. Great question! Jake Nelson wrote in about Dreamflight and brought to our attention something that remains on Buzz Lightyear - we had no idea! Thanks so much Jake! David is up next, with some amazing audio clips he shared with us. Listen in to this great stuff from River Country, it sure is unique. More to come from David soon..... Jerry Massey sent us a commemorative VHS from the 1994 Walt Disney World Marathon. We are going to share this with you soon, so stay tuned! Joe Barlow wrote in about some of the old arcades - giving us a great memory about what it was like to walk into the Contemporary & The Fiesta Fun Center. Andrew wrote in with some great memories and it sparked the feeling we used to get, waiting forever to check into our resorts. We all give our accounts on how it felt and why it used to take forever...We even bring up the old Ving Room Key! Thank you for all the emails, tweets and comments you have sent our way. We try to respond to almost everything and do our best to pick unique questions for the show. Audio Rewind Our audio rewind this month turned out to be the Enchanted Tiki Room, from the original show! The winner is Scott Chapin, winning a Vacation Kingdom poster. Great job and thanks for playing along to everybody! If you think you know the answer to this month's audio rewind, email us! contest@retrowdw.com - This month the winner will receive one of the Lake & Lagoon Vacation Kingdom posters. All entries due 3/12/2019 and a random winner will be selected. Main Topic Main Street Penny Arcade We start off this month on Main Street, USA - more specifically the Penny Arcade! This classic is part of our overall topic of arcades and game rooms. How gives us an insanely detailed walk through, starting us off with the fortune telling machine and the old Mutoscope. We hear about 'Old San Francisco', 'Play Cowboy Rodeo Time', 'Burlesque Bouncer' and more. Todd also brings up some of the other titles shown on a stereoscope format as well. The stories and facts continue as How tells us about the various strength testers, baseball games, love testers and so much more. If you ever spent any time in the Penny Arcade on Main Street, let us know if you have any interesting memories. We would also love to see your pictures! Finally, we let you know where the machines ended up with an interview by Todd Tuckey. Fiesta Fun Center Finally! We take you back to one of the greatest vintage spots in all of Walt Disney World – the infamous and now gone, Fiesta Fun Center. This was located on the first floor of the Contemporary Resort, down near the check-in desk. Currently, The Wave restaurant is located in the former spot of the arcade. We take a deep dive into this childhood paradise, which was absolutely massive. Originally, it was just an extra convention space, explaining the large size. This started officially in 1973, resembling a Raiders of the Lost Ark warehouse, filled with games that were similar to the ones featured in Jaws. There was even a smallish movie theater, costing $1 and it rotated various Disney movies. The theater is one place that seems to be very rarely pictured. We received some interesting facts and information relating to the caricature artists, which were there for a very long time. The shooting gallery, which was there in the middle of the Fiesta Fun Center run, is discussed as well during this segment. We have some various videos that were dug up, relating to the Fun Center: S.A.M.I. by Midway and this great home movie from the 1990s, which covers some other parts of the resort. The Fiesta Fun Center always seemed to have some of the best machines, which we discuss. Over the top games, experiences you didn't get elsewhere and just an overall exciting experience. Next Month Join us next month for another great episode, all about the 'new' Tomorrowland attraction: The Timekeeper! We thank you for your support and welcome you to enjoy all of our other offerings including our photos, restored films & The Lake Buena Vista Historical Society.

Support the show and get fun Bonus content over at http://www.patreon.com/saturdaymorningmedia Intro Bumper by Rachel & Zeke of the Behind The Magic Podcast - https://www.btmpodcast.com INTRO TRANSCRIPT Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we are taking a ride on Snow White’s Scary Adventures at Disneyland. This dark ride is described in the guide map as follows: Hop inside a mine cart and follow the path of Snow White as she flees into the dark forest to avoid the wrath of the evil Queen. There is no height requirement for this attraction and the Thrill Level describes the ride as being Loud, Dark, Scary and a slow ride. Before we head into the forest to find snow white, here are five fast facts about Snow White’s Scary Adventures 1. Snow White’s Scary adventures is an opening day attraction that began operation on July 17, 1955. Back then though, the ride was called Snow White’s Adventures. The ride got its new name in 1983. 2. Snow white didn’t actually appear in the ride until 1983 as well! When the ride opened in 1995, the imagineers had designed the ride to make it feel as if the guests themselves were Snow White going through the forest and avoiding the evil queen. Many guests questioned where Snow White was, so in 1983, the ride was changed to include snow white, though she only appears in the attraction once. 3. One of the signature effects of the attraction is the transformation of the evil queen into the old hag. This effect is achieved by haven two figures separated by a sheet of glass that is standing in for an actual mirror. 4. The ride vehicles for the attraction are each randomly named after one of the seven dwarves. 5. For years after the ride opened, guests were swiping one of the apples that the witch would hold out as they passed by. When the ride was revamped in 1983, an effect was created to make it seem as if the apple was there but if guests reach out for it, their hands go right through! Now, let’s visit Snow White and the Seven Dwarves on Snow White’s Scary Adventures. On the ride with me today is John B. deHaas and after we ride we’ll discuss our thoughts on this classic Disneyland attraction. If you have headphones, put them on now as we experience this binaural ride through of Snow White’s Scary Adventures. (((HEADPHONES STRONGLY RECOMMENDED))) Call or text with your comments!!! New number -> (805) 270-5785 In this episode of the Mouse Lounge, celebrate 70 years with the one that started it all, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. From the Walt Disney Family Museum: In a darkened theater filled to overflowing at the D23 Expo, I had the honor of sitting in the presence of true Disney legends and experts. Producer, Don Hahn moderates a panel discussion about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In attendance were animator, Andreas Deja, who invoked life into Scar in the Lion King, and Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Eric Goldberg, responsible for animating the Genie in Aladdin, and directing the jaw dropping Rhapsody in Blue and hilarious Flamingo with a Yo Yo sequences in Fantasia 2000, Disney historian and author, J.B. Kaufman, animation historian and prolific writer, Charles Solomon, and special guest, looking dazzling at 90 years young, Marge Gower Champion, the live action model for Snow White. Each week, in From the Vault we sample a clip from a classic Disney film, short, television or radio program, or Disneyland Record. This week we serve up a triple feature. At the beginning of 1938, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was taking America by storm. By using the radio medium, Walt was able to stoke the fire of his marketing machine promoting Snow White; while at the same time, entertaining a national audience. On January 2nd 1938, a radio episode of The Mickey Mouse Theater hit the airwaves, coupling elements from the picture with other famous Disney characters. Pay particular attention as Walt himself effortlessly goes from his natural speaking voice into character as Mickey. Next, scoop up slices of film from the cutting room floor and wonder, what if? Have a listen right here to the marvelous but deleted soup sequence from Snow White. Each week we present a high definition ride-through from a Disney Park East or a Disney Park West. This week, enjoy a one of a kind compare and contrast as you hear back to back versions of Snow Whites Scary Adventures, first in on the west coast in Disneyland then in Walt Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom. There are striking differences between the two. Which do you like better? We close the show with unique takes from the soundtrack. First from the newly remastered original soundtrack, the infectious Silly Song; then Satchmo Armstrong teaches you how to Whistle While You Work, and finishing with Ashley Tisdales turn at Some Day My Prince Will Come.
