In today's Daily Fix:Star Wars returns to the big screen in May with The Mandalorian and Grogu, but according to Variety, Lucasfilm is having doubts the movie will be as successful as the mainline series of films. This comes after a teaser that ran during the Super Bowl apparently failed to generate much hype for the movie. However, the company is more confident in next year's Star Wars film, Starfighter, from director Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling. In other news, PlayStation Plus games for March have been confirmed, with PGA Tour 2K25 and Monster Hunter Rise leading the pack. And take a peek at the five immersive worlds of the all-new Universal Epic Universe, and one of its featured attractions – Stardust Racers, all at Universal Orlando Resort. The news come as a welcome surprise for fans who were expecting the game to make an appearance at the latest PlayStation State of Play, but was a no-show. In other news, Xbox co-creator Seamus Blackley has some dire predictions for the Xbox brand. Via GamesBeat, Blackley thinks the recent Xbox leadership shuffle means the brand is being 'sunsetted,' as far as being a major player in the video game space. And finally, take a peek at the five immersive worlds of the all-new Universal Epic Universe, and one of its featured attractions – Stardust Racers, all at Universal Orlando Resort.

Universal After Dark - A Universal Orlando and Halloween Horror Nights Podcast
the show is coming to an end (its folding back into DaDA Love Letter to Universal After Dark — One Last TimeEvery podcast starts the same way: an idea, a spark, and a mic that probably wasn't as good as it should've been. Universal After Dark began exactly like that—born from a deep, late-night love for Universal Orlando Resort and the feeling that only hits when the sun goes down, the lights glow, and the parks feel alive in a different way.At the very beginning of it all was Boston White, the original host and the voice that set the tone for everything that followed. Boston didn't just start a podcast—he created a space. A place where love for Universal could be loud, emotional, nostalgic, and honest. The DNA of Universal After Dark was shaped in those early days, and no matter how the show evolved, that foundation always remained. From there, the podcast grew through different eras, different hosts, and different chapters. Each host brought their own energy, humour, opinions, and passion, helping the show evolve while staying true to its heart. Those past hosts are not footnotes—they are part of the story. Their voices, ideas, and time helped build something that lasted far longer than anyone could have expected. And just like the podcast, Universal Orlando Resort changed too. Over the lifetime of the show, attractions opened and closed, icons disappeared, new lands reshaped the skyline, and entire eras of the resort faded into memory. Universal After Dark didn't just report those changes—it felt them. The excitement of the new, the sadness of the farewell, the debates, the nostalgia, and the quiet moments where you realise a favourite version of the parks is gone forever. But what truly made the show special was the community that formed around it.Listeners became regulars. Regulars became friends. And patrons became the backbone of everything. The generosity of patrons—through their donations and belief in the show—helped transform Universal After Dark from a passion project into the biggest UK-based Universal podcast, proudly based out of Liverpool. That Scouse heart mattered. It proved that love for Universal doesn't need a Florida postcode—just genuine passion and a willingness to share it.Every donation helped keep the lights on. Every message reminded the hosts why they did this. And every bit of support allowed the show to grow without ever losing its soul. Now, as Universal After Dark reaches its final chapter, it's important to say this clearly:this isn't just an ending—it's a legacy. The show leaves behind years of memories, laughter, debates, late-night recordings, and shared excitement. It leaves behind a record of Universal Orlando Resort as it once was, as it changed, and as it became something new. Most of all, it leaves behind a community that made it all worth it.To Boston White, to every host who followed, to every listener who ever pressed play, and especially to the patrons who helped the show become what it was—thank you. This ending exists only because something truly special existed first. From Liverpool to Orlando. From the first episode to the last. This is Universal After Dark—and it will always matter.

Rumor season did not wait for us during our short absence. We already have plenty of rumored properties to discuss. Some, like Hellraiser and Stranger Things feel like strong possibilities. Then there are properties like Sinners, which came out of nowhere, but would be a huge crowd pleaser. However, there are some that feel flat out made up or just a pipe dream cough IT / Welcome to Derry cough. We will discuss them all and talk about how likely we think they may be. This week, Jim and Eric shift from breaking Universal news into a fascinating look back at how the company perfected the art of staged chaos. Chuck Meehan is Chief Creative Officer of Pavone Group and a veteran creative leader with decades of experience shaping iconic, culture-driving campaigns. A four-time Super Bowl creative, Chuck has worked with global brands and top-tier talent to create work that breaks through noise and pressure.Chuck has led creative teams at major agencies and worked on campaigns for brands including General Motors, Hellmann's, McDonald's, Del Taco and Universal Orlando Resort. His Super Bowl work includes back-to-back GM spots featuring Will Ferrell and Mike Myers as Dr. Evil, as well as large-scale brand activations that extended far beyond the broadcast.Big ideas come from interpreting the brief in an unexpected way and connecting dots others don't see.If an idea can't be explained clearly in one sentence, it's not fully formed.Super Bowl advertising is a six-month marathon that requires protecting the idea through intense internal and external pressure. The most successful Super Bowl spots extend beyond the ad itself into brand activations and social storytelling.Celebrity-driven campaigns only work when the talent serves the product and idea, not the other way around.AI should be used to amplify creative thinking, not replace the struggle and reps required to develop great ideas.In-person collaboration plays a critical role in mentoring young creatives and building strong creative culture.Great creative leadership is about creating an environment where people feel safe to take big swings and learn from misses. QUOTES “The Super Bowl is the coolest thing and it's the most terrifying thing. And what's hard about it is, a lot of them start in August. So if you make it to February, that's six months of your life.” (Chuck)“If you can survive that gauntlet and somehow get to the Super Bowl with a great spot, it's a Herculean feat for sure. It's an amazing thing and it's a bit of a horrible thing at the same time.” (Chuck)“That (GM Dr. Evil) brand activation actually became a bigger story than even the spot in a sense. So yeah, that was a thing where we just didn't stop at the spot.” (Chuck)“By the Monday after the Super Bowl, the whole world's moved on. Brands looked at that and thought that if I'm spending that much money, why don't I release the spot a week ahead of time and get more out of it.” (Chuck)“When it comes to a Super Bowl commercial, you've got to put three-act story in 60 seconds. That's the discipline. When I've worked with people outside advertising, they don't quite get it. It's a very specific art.” (Chuck)“It's good because over the years, as a creative director, ECD, GCD, CCO, I'm constantly critiquing work. I'm constantly critiquing ideas. And most of them don't get past me, which is kind of the drill. The ones that do interpreted the brief in a way I didn't expect.” (Chuck)“I always tell creatives, show me a different way of looking at something. And even when I've judged shows, it's always the stuff that I'm like, how did they get there? Ninety-nine percent of things I can see where they're going.” (Chuck)“If you can tell me it in one sentence, you have an idea. And if you can't explain it, you don't know it.” (Chuck)

Universal Orlando Resort and Mack Rides are facing at least five new lawsuits filed on December 18, 2025, in Orange County circuit court by attorney Nicholas Spetsas, alleging that riders of the Stardust Racers dueling roller coaster at Epic Universe suffered severe, permanent injuries—such as brain bleeds, spinal cord damage, paralysis, strokes, and traumatic brain injuries—due to their heads violently slamming repeatedly against the seat in front during rides between April and September 2025, stemming from inadequate restraints, negligent design, testing, warnings, and maintenance. These follow the September 17 death of 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, who suffered similar blunt force head trauma (ruled accidental due to pre-existing spinal atrophy) after riding; his family, represented by Ben Crump, settled confidentially with Universal shortly after, with inspections confirming normal operation. Lawyers aim for discovery to expose flaws and push safety fixes, while Universal declines comment on pending litigation.Watch this podcast episode on YouTube and all major podcast hosts including Spotify.CLOWNFISH TV is an independent, opinionated news and commentary podcast that covers Entertainment and Tech from a consumer's point of view. In today's Daily Fix:Leon S. Kennedy is now officially confirmed for Resident Evil: Requiem, but don't expect just a simple cameo from him. Capcom developers have clarified how much of the game will be from Leon's POV, and just like his first outing in RE2, it looks like about half the game will have you playing as him. The other half will be played out via Grace Ashcroft, but there's a very strong possibility you'll have at least one more character to play as. In other news, Clair Obscur almost had a clean sweep at last night's Game Awards, winning 9 awards across 11 different categories. As a thank-you to fans, developer Sandfall has made the upcoming DLC not only available right now, but it's totally FREE. And finally, take a peek at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort. Editor's note: To clarify, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was nominated 13 times across 11 different categories, and won nine awards. IGN regrets any confusion.
In today's Daily Fix:Tonight is The Game Awards, and with it we can expect a deluge of new announcements and surprises. But a few surprises have already leaked onto the internet, including what look like the first images from the upcoming Tomb Raider remake. The remake will be a top-to-bottom retelling of the original game from 1996, but it will be set in the same continuity as the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy that began in 2011. Another major leak is the reveal of the villain in the upcoming 007 First Light game. The villain, Bawma, will be played by Lenny Kravitz. And in other news, Helldivers 2 dev Arrowhead has teased a roguelite mode, but don't get your hopes up. It's still in its early stages and may never actually get released. And finally take a peak into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort.
In today's Daily Fix:The Call of Duty dev team has issued a statement basically acknowledging Black Ops 7's shortcomings and promising to move off the back-to-back yearly release of mainline Call of Duty games. This comes as Black Ops 7 was met with middling reviews and apparently worse sales numbers in the face of stiff competition this year. EA's Battlefield 6 and Embark Studios' ARC Raiders both launched around the same time and were met with widespread acclaim. Black Ops 6 was released only last year, and Modern Warfares 2 and 3 were also released in back-to-back years, leading many fans to complain each entry did not feel or play substantially different from the previous year's. In other news, two new games are being added to December's PlayStation Plus lineup: Assassin's Creed Mirage and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. They join the recently-released skating game Skate Story.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort.
In today's Daily Fix:The latest leak for Ubisoft's still-unannounced Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake may have revealed the game's official title. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced appeared on the PEGI ratings website, but has since been pulled, lending credence to the title's legitimacy. Ubisoft has yet to confirm its existence, but a previous financial results presentation teased an unannounced game for March 31, 2026. In other gaming leaks news, the PlayStation store may have revealed a major franchise character returning to Resident Evil. Art for Resident Evil Requiem features Leon S. Kennedy prominently along with new character Grace Ashcroft. Kennedy has not been featured in a mainline Resident Evil game since Resident Evil 6 back in 2012. Expect a proper reveal at The Game Awards later this week. And finally, take a peek into a four-park family vacation at Universal Orlando Resort.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort.
In today's Daily Fix:GameStop held its 'Trade Anything Day' promotional event where customers could come in with (almost) anything and get cash or store credit. GameStop shared with us some of the craziest trade-ins, such as a taxidermied bobcat, some McDonald's socks, and—get this— a Netflix Wii disc from way back when the Wii needed an authentication disc to stream content from the Netflix app. Did you try to trade anything in an GameStop? How much did you get for it? Let us know in the comments. In other news, fighting game legend Katsuhiro Harada is leaving Bandai Namco. Harada had been with the Tekken franchise for 30 years, working on each installment and directing Tekkens 3 through the recent Tekken 8. Harada has not yet said what he'll do next. And finally, take a peek into a family vacation at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort.

Flight 46: Iconic former domestic and international planning and development executive for both Disney and Universal, Frank Stanek. When you view construction photos or videos of Epcot, Tokyo Disneyland, Universal Studios Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Japan and other major themed entertainment projects around the globe, the focus is typically on those crazy creative folks — not the guys in the suits. But the truth is that if it weren't for the guys in the suits who secured the site and the funding, strategically planned the project, and oversaw the budgets and schedules, those crazy creative folks wouldn't have anything to design or build! Frank Stanek is probably the most famous "suit" in our industry today, having worked for Walt and Roy Disney on the New York World's Fair and Mineral King before joining WED Enterprises to oversee business planning and development. He helped to create Walt Disney World, Epcot, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris before working directly with Michael Eisner and Frank Wells as the Walt Disney Company's first Corporate Vice President of Planning. After a stint with the Japanese firm Dentsu, Frank was recruited to MCA/Universal, where he became President of International Business Development and oversaw the Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Japan, and Universal projects in Spain, Korea, and China. Set your timepiece now and plan to join us as one of the themed entertainment industry's most storied planning and development execs shares his wisdom and tales from the trenches in what promises to be Zoomcast for the ages!
