Growing up as a Hispanic male who was viewed as a nerd in high school, Liudeli Torres suffered from poor social skills. As a young adult, he would go out of his way to avoid interactions with people. He tells us how he made a dramatic turnaround by being disciplined and focusing on self-improvement strategies he learned from books. He slowly but intentionally put those strategies to work and has seen his social skills improve considerably. At the young age of 25, he now owns and operates his own website development company "Don't Be Basic" where he encourages small businesses to think outside the box.Email: ltorres@dontbebasic.us

Part One: “We don’t give a fudge…” Welcome to Hardly Focused! Jack and Mike with you for this episode. A certain Fro-host was on the bill for this podcast, but he called it an early night. This episode begins with sad news. Grant Imahara of “Mythbusters” fame, passes on at 49 years old. Jack features audio from the Discovery Channel, honoring Grant and his contributions to both science and entertainment. Elsewhere, “that bitch” Carole Baskin remains in the news. She’s on Cameo, and for $300 she will record for you her best 50 Cent impression! Well worth every penny… or not. Part Two: Yeezy for President? Good news, everyone! Kayne West is running for President! Wait, sorry, he’s not running. Hold on, he’s still running. What the hell? Part Three: Getting Crunk with Grandma Between segments, Jack learns that “Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek ate a ton of pot brownies at a party. Even better, he wasn’t seen for 3 days afterwards. Encase this man in carbonite! Following up from the previous segment, Jack also has details about the Pizza Party in Massachusetts. It’s a political party, officially recognized by state officials. Jack is proudly a member, and hopes to one day run against Mike and his Pirate Party. Back on-track, Jack and Mike discuss teenage riff-raff. These days, you’re cool if you’re underage and dress as a grandma to purchase alcohol. What has the plague done to our youth?! This leads Jack to feature a segment from NerdWire, where old women try Fireball whiskey for the first time. These are the bags you’d want to party with. Wrapping up, Jack proclaims his love for the game show “Supermarket Sweep.” For whatever reason, it’s trending on Netflix. Forget Yeezy – Vote David Ruprecht and Johnny Gilbert in 2020! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hardlyfocused/support

Today’s guest is a good friend of mine from Bellevue, WA. He is the one and only, Jesse Warren. Jesse is a stand-comedian that performs all over the U.S. In Seattle, Jesse hosts and performs at the Comedy Underground, Laughs Comedy Club, and The Pocket Theatre. He is best known for his touring show “Socially Inept” which he co-produces with comedian Austin Nasso. Jesse is an advocate for health and fitness, creativity, and most recently, all things ASMR. Hi Working Comic Fans, I know I have been sparsely posting, but I am still at it. I am probably going to do less than one podcast per week, but I am definitely not dropping the ball here. I've been travelling a lot and prepping my tech roast show "Socially Inept." I had a really cool interview with TV Show Writer & Comedian Curtis Cook. We start out talking about how Curtis got into comedy and segue into an interesting tangent on comedy politics. We spend most of the episode talking about recovering from an offensive bit, being edgy on stage, using stereotypes, growing from mistakes, and much more. These are a lot of the questions that I ponder over with my close comedian friends, so it was a real treat discussing them with the very well spoken and accomplished Curtis Cook. Curtis' Bio: Curtis Cook is a writer and standup living in Los Angeles. He’s done a few things on television you may have seen, like puking after a keg stand on a show called Flophouse or traveling through an Ebola checkpoint for a segment on Vice News or awkwardly interacting with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein during a sketch on Porlandia or doing a standup set on Comedy Central. Most recently, you may have caught his work as a writer and correspondent for The Jim Jefferies Show on Comedy Central.
Hi Working Comic Fans, Sorry for the craaaazy delay. I've been MIA for about a month now. For the last three weeks of May I was travelling Europe with my girlfriend because I'm a monogamous wealthy jew and THEN I had three Socially Inept roast shows in a row. We had one big show at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco on June 6th followed by two great shows in Los Angeles on June 13th and 14th. Anyway - back to business - in this episode, I interviewed Tyler Smith, the producer of the "Dope Show." The Dope Show is a comedy show where comics do their sets, get high, and then do them again. Tyler's show is prolific in the Pacific Northwest and he is able to MAKE A LIVING on the money he makes selling tickets. In my opinion, this is pretty much the dream for a comedian, so there's definitely a lot of cool stuff to learn. We talk about how the show started, marketing tactics he uses, and how he sells thousands of tickets per year. ENJOY!
Today, Jesse Warren visits Sofiya and Rob. Jesse is one of Seattle’s hardest working comedians who loves filming himself making milkshakes, lifting weights, and talking about himself. He is the producer of Off The Top, a fun improvised stand-up comedy show in Seattle, and a cofounder of Socially Inept, a roast show for tech nerds across America. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/russiandolls/support
Are we real? Is there life on other planets? What the hell is deja vu? Danielle and Kristen dive deep into the hard questions that no one really knows the answers to. Welcome to the first ever episode of Socially Inept which might force you to have an existential crisis.
In this episode: A listener was lamenting the holiday season and how difficult it was to navigate all of the parties, dinners, and other social events as an introvert. Their questions ran along the lines of whether it was important to attend these functions, how to negotiate the events when you're not very outgoing, and how to plan social gatherings that aren't so terrible to introverts.

It came and went, like a beautiful whirlwind. E3 has graced us with its presence, and disappeared until the time comes again. We felt really good about a few conferences, as they had an incredibly strong presence. Some of the new IPs that were announced have us hyped at Sword Chomp. Then, there were a few conferences that we felt lackluster, to the point of shock and surprise. Overall, we felt that it was a solid E3. We also gave our personal top 5 hype list.

It has Ed Fear from Mediatonic on there. He helps the team design their new social game that will take over the world." "Robots and humans will always live in peace with each other!" "There's also a discussion about Peter Molyneux and how amazing his name game will be. Although we're a bit worried with what's happened to Milo. Do you see Milo where you are?" "Oops I don't know what to say..." "You don't have to say anything. Unless you can say if you've seen Pat Garrett and Julian 'Jaz' Rignall in the same room together" "How?" "Perhaps they'll be at the OLL Christmas Party to be held on December 15th." "Up momma's house." "I think that's the after party." "Oh yea sorry" "What happens after the afterparty?" "Depends on what you believe" "Ann says it's the hotel lobby" "fiesta" "What do you think of Derek Williams?" She's had a rough life but with her friends and family she will make it through just fine." "She?" "I really know she is very kind on u and she love u so much right? and she is very cutie :)" "If you were to score our date out of ten, what would you give it?" "Niall" DUMPED. Cheerio! In this episode I talk about a new type of censorship that I've discovered. Apparently when looking for work you have to censor what your would normally be broadcasting on your Facebook and Twitter accounts. If I were to apply this concept to the Podcast I wouldn't have a Podcast. The basic question of this episode is why should I have to put on a virtual suit and tie to get money from business people whose only accomplishment is having lots of money that I don't have? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nicnacjak/message
It's a game of two halves. Lesley touches on Alex 'surely she's got to get an award for this reporting' Crawford, whose coverage of the Libya end game has been superb. And then moves on to cyclists, in a week where the LSE puts the economic benefits of cycling to be around £2.9billion. The class warfare of bikes and their usage is explored inside a spirited rant.
This episode takes you back 6 to 7 years when Nincacjak was starting his senior year in High School. If you think he faces insurmountable social barriers today, just wait till you hear what he faced several years ago. This episode serves to expand the description of the problems discussed in "The Lament of the Lonely Isolationist Geek” and give listeners a better idea of how Nicnacjak has (or hasn't) evolved since his teens. It also features the modern tragic tale of “Bible Reading Girl”. The issues with the blogpage have been fixed thanks to the great community on the Libsyn Forums.
