It is the dead of winter and Episode 131 will try to bring the warmth. It begins with a trip back to a long-since-forgotten Cape Cod establishment. The Chequesset Inn of Wellfleet, the Grand Resort of the Outer Cape, was an oasis of luxury in the late 19th and early 20th century. However, it has been all but lost to time. We'll look back at its story this week. For 70 years one magazine has captured the world of athletics better than all others. Sports Illustrated has been more than just a sports magazine, it became a cultural institution. Anyone who is anyone in sports has been either on the cover or extensively written about in the magazine. With questions looming about its future it's appropriate to go Back In the Day and cover the legacy of Sports Illustrated. There is a fine line between innovative and impractical. This week's Top 5 is going to cross way over that line as we look at some of the most ridiculous, dangerous, and downright stupid inventions ever. On a brand new This Week In History and Time Capsule we look at the importance of Bob Marley. Few people have transcended their industry to become a cultural icon in quite the way Bob Marley did and we'll look at some reasons why.For more great content become a subscriber on Patreon or Buzzsprout!Helpful Links from this EpisodeThe Lady of the Dunes.comPurchase My New Book Cape Cod Beyond the Beach! In My Footsteps: A Cape Cod Travel Guide(2nd Edition)Kiwi's Kustoms - EtsyDJ Williams MusicKeeKee's Cape Cod KitchenChristopher Setterlund.comCape Cod Living - Zazzle StoreSubscribe on YouTube!SI 100 Greatest Sports PhotosBob Marley.comChequesset Inn Photos - Wellfleet Historical SocietyListen to Episode 130 here Support the show

Logan Leduc, Jacob Murray, and Tyler Johnson talk about the Sports Illustrated Top 100 Players and the various moves that took place in this NBA offseason!
On this episode, Dalton and Matt start off by giving their thoughts on where ESPN ranked Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis on its NBA Top 100 list, while also raising a red flag on a few non-Mavs players in the rankings as well. Two weeks ago, the guys talked about Sports Illustrated Top 100 list as well, so they compare the two lists as a whole to try to determine which is more accurate. From there, the conversation shifts to the NBA starting to crack down teams by requiring them to get the certified height measurements (with no shoes on) and ages of all players on the roster. We still love you, though. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/step-back-mavs/support

We continue our positional breakdowns with a preview of the Suns’ wing rotation, where the question of who starts between Mikal Bridges and Kelly Oubre Jr. looms large. However, both are expected to get significant minutes regardless, which begs the question of how they fit together and improve individually. With rookie Cam Johnson rounding out the group, the depth chart is heavy on shooting and weak defensively. But before all of that, we react to the Sports Illustrated Top 100 and where a trio of Suns players landed on the list! We close the show with our superlatives for the wing position. No opening take today, so the guys begin the show by talking about last summer's "Sports Illustrated" Top 100 players list that looks even more ridiculous in hindsight (2:40). Transitioning to a more recent list as "Athlon Sports" ranked all 130 quarterback in college football. The guys give their top 10 QBs and tell you who is overrated, underrated, and just right (7:15). Les Miles and Pooka Williams are the two most interesting aspects of KU to Lee, while Grant is still disgusted by the Jayhawks' behavior a couple of seasons ago (35:15). Is this the season that all the Texas preseason hype is warranted (42:30)? Baker Mayfield will be in Norman this week. What questions should Lee ask him (51:15)? The top 100 series comes to an end as Zack and Plack discuss the 25 best players in the NBA according to Sports Illustrated. The boys have some strong opinions about the best players in the league, which leads to an argument or two... or three... or four.

This portion of the ranking carries some controversial picks with injury concerns, young stars, and consistent team players alike!
Zack and Plack dicuss the first 50 players in Sports Illustrated's Top 100 NBA players for the 2018-19 season! There are plenty of disagreements between the boys, but they can at least agree that there are some crazy entries on this list. Tune in next week to hear the remaining of the list!
