Eizenstat advocated for the U.S. to continue providing critical military aid to Ukraine, comparing the potential outcomes to the armistice that concluded the Korean War, rather than a direct peace agreement. The long time diplomat said the US. must "give Israel the means to defeat and disable Hamas as a governing and military structure, But, we have to also, as the administration is trying to do, combine diplomacy with military force." Eizenstat cautioned that Hamas will not be defeated alone by military force. and that the US. must "look at Gaza as part of a broader conflict. After winning said campaign he became President Jimmy Carter's Chief Domestic Policy Adviser.Later he went on to become President Bill Clinton's Deputy Secretary of the Treasury. And he served as the United States Ambassador to the European Union from 1993 to 1996Mr Eizenstat has also devoted much effort to various aspects of Holocaust Restitution, successfully negotiating major agreements with the Swiss, Germans, Austrian and French, and other European countries. The vast majority (95%) are child survivors born between 1928 and 1946. The median age of survivors is 86, and around 61% are women. Roughly half of the survivors live in Israel, while 16% reside in the United States, the country with the second largest percentage, the study found. Around a third of the survivors in the U.S. are living in poverty, Greg Schneider, executive vice president of the Claims Conference, tells Axios. Zoom in: 40% of survivors worldwide access or have accessed social welfare services from over 300 agencies that receive grants administered by the Claims Conference. Ieder jaar staan ook de Gemeente Den Haag, stichting CHAJ van de Joodse gemeenschap in de stad, en de Ambassade van Israël daarbij stil. Dit jaar online vanwege corona en met een bijzonder thema: restitutie en compensatie voor slachtoffers. Luister naar president Yusuf van het Internationaal Gerechtshof en naar ambassadeur Gilon.
