Mit ca 20 Jahren hat er das DJing für sich entdeckt. Zuerst begann er aus Spass, Electro und Minimal Beats mit Hip-Hop und Dancehall zu verbinden. Als er dann so richtig Gefallen daran fand, erweiterte er sein Equipment und konzentrierte sich voll und ganz darauf seine Mixes und seine Trackauswahl zu verfeinern. Ca 2004 wurde er Resident DJ bei dem Online-Radiosender "Tekksounds". Ab sofort gab es für ihn nur noch Minimal und TechHouse. Nach 2 "Tekksounds-Events" und einigen privaten Veranstaltungen und Open-Airs kamen dann auch schon die ersten Bookings in Clubs, wie z.B. (Bauhaus/Landshut, Halle Luja/NRW, E3/Dorfen...) Er erkannte schnell, das es an der Zeit war etwas "dreckiger" zu spielen. Seit 2012 hat er sich dann restlos der dunklen Seite des Beats verschrieben. Nur vereinzelt gibt es noch Minimal und TechHouse von ihm zu hören... Es war Zeit für Dark- & Banging Techno!!! Anfang 2013 gründete er mit seinem Freund Sven Klaas, das Duo "Hell & Klaas". In diesem Jahr supportete er den Reactable-Act "Klangmechanik" im E3/Dorfen. Regelmässig bekommt ihr von ihm neues auf Soundcloud zu hören, wo er bereits auch bei mehreren Podcasts, wie z.B. (BassAudienz, Art Style: Techno...), vertreten war. After working for more than five years pushing the envelope of Techno under the Subfractal moniker, he decided to start a new platform for his own expression. His commitment to finding new and innovative techniques to produce groundbreaking techno led him to start this project. After hearing the first few productions it comes without a doubt that Measure Divide is his channel to satisfy his thirst for earth shattering deeper, harder and darker techno. The distorted sound design, rumbling low-end and big fluxes of synths are essential to his sound and are showcased in his productions. After hearing the first couple of releases, he was instantly picked up personally by Techno giant Erphun who will be introducing Measure Divide on his label Brood Audio in 2012 to the rest of the world. When asked about the the reason he started this project, he responded, “I have worked for a long time under Subfractal and am satisfied with the way things have gone. Without doubt I am very proud of the accomplishments. With time I wanted to experiment and try out new ways to better express myself. Measure Divide, for me, is that outlet. It’s a personal project of mine which I work on using a different approach, somewhere where I can be free and not stick to the usual structure of music and what the fans of “Subfractal” are expecting. Right on time for the weekend! And in spirit of our flooded event last Friday I present you with a dark Techno episode. I Had a great time playing for Techno lovers, and hope to see more of you guys on Sept 30th for Linear 1.1 =) This mix starts out with some great kicks and basslines, then builds and builds until the flood gates open up and releases the higher spectrum of sounds. I have a few favorites in this mix... First off I discovered a new favorite artist Steve Parker. I have a couple of his tracks on the mix and they're just plain nasty especially track 8 "Diode". The next one I will comment on is track 3 "Pendulum" it's by an artist by the name of Galan, who is new to me. This track is pretty minimal but has great driving kicks, glitches and sounds. Will definitely be looking out for his work in the future. You gotta love the way Techno gets into your head. I say this all the time but the moment you learn to appreciate Techno your EDM journey is complete. What I mean by that is you are able to be open and receptive to all EDM music. There is always that point with music where you just get it. For example, when pop music listeners hear house music they usually think "OMG, what is that? Is that even music? It all sounds the same..." But thanks to artists like David Guetta, Deadmau5, shows like Jersey Shore, etc... American pop culture finally accepted "House Music" as a form of music. This is good and bad... good because more people are listening and being exposed to EDM, bad because where there is money to be made the quality of the music/art gets compromised IMO.
