FLOYD WEST22 returns with Lip Biter Sounds – Episode 48, a high-voltage ride through peak-hour tech house, acid pressure, and warehouse-ready techno. This one moves slick and seductive at first… then gradually turns into a full-blown dancefloor sermon. We open deep and hypnotic with Kristin Velvet and Stolen Faces, setting the tone with rolling low-end tension. Then the energy spikes with a slick mashup of Rihanna's Don't Stop The Music colliding against Mau P's club weapon Neck — pure dancefloor ignition. From there it's non-stop momentum: Plastik Funk & Esox, HIISAK & Reeva, and the legendary Benny Benassi alongside Fideles deliver sleek, driving heat. Basslines get heavier with Wax Motif & Sarah De Warren, plus Night Bass energy from Body Ocean & Benni Ola. Groove masters like Ewan McVicar, Blackloud, R3WIRE, and Marten Hørger keep the house pulse tight and addictive. Then the shift happens. The techno takes over. Adam Beyer, GENESI & Aye Anne bring the Drumcode thunder with DNA. A reworked classic from Soulwax hits via the Westend edit. Latin-charged emotion lands with Victor Tellagio. Groove precision from Ad-Apt & Max Styler keeps the tension rising. And the final stretch? Pure acid warehouse chaos — A.D.H.S. into Conduit & Charlotte de Witte closing with A Prayer for the Dancefloor — a cinematic, pounding finale built for 3AM strobe lights. Episode 48 is bold, sexy, and unapologetically club-focused. Lip Biter Sounds. ⚡️Like the Show? Click the [Repost] ↻ button so more people can hear it!

There's a certain sound that only works when the lights are low and the room is already moving. This is that sound. Castion steps back into the Data Transmission booth with a mix built for sweat, bounce, and no-nonsense groove. Zero warm-up. Straight into business. Fresh off his return to MoodCollective, Castion has been on a sharp upward curve. The Tenerife-based producer first landed on the imprint alongside Nicole Moudaber, helping launch the label in mid-2025 and pulling early support from Groove Armada and Harry Romero. Since then, it's been clubs, charts, and consistent damage. This mix feels like how Castion actually plays. Rolling tech-house pressure, chunky drums, and grooves that don't let go. It moves fast but never rushes. Percussion swings. Basslines hit low and wide. Vocals land just long enough to hook you before the next blend snaps in. Rooftops at sunset, basements at 3am, and those packed mid-set moments where the floor locks into one rhythm. There's plenty of his own material woven through the session. Cuts like Non Stop and The Beat set the tone early. His new single See Some More slides in naturally, all hypnotic drums, sexy vocal tension, and peak-time punch. Elsewhere, he dips into Chinonegro's Mi Gente, Rushin's FNKSTA, Sohail & SEBS' Nah, and a cheeky flip of Timbaland's The Way I Are that lands exactly where it should. By the time the closing stretch hits, it's full dancefloor control. This is a DJ mix that understands flow. No filler. No distractions. Just groove after groove, built for real rooms and real systems. Castion's See Some More drops on MoodCollective on 13th February 2026, keep it locked for that.

I'm very happy to present a new episode of my Indie Dance The Mix series. This time with DJ Cami from Berlin. Enjoy it... BIO ENGLISH CAMI dances somewhere between dark mid-tempo, pitched indie dance, and tech house – with driving beats, growling basslines, and sassy vocals. Her sets are like a night out with good friends: surprising, intense, sometimes a little over the top – but always with heart and conviction. Raving has always been political and should remain so. Pro Elektroauto Batterien brauchen SO viel Wasser?

In this special episode of The Underground Lounge, Lou and Spank welcome an icon who truly needs no introduction: Flea, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Known for his explosive stage presence and innovative bass lines, Flea takes us through the journey of his life and career with honesty, humor, and reflection. The conversation begins with his early childhood and the jazz influences that shaped him, from Miles Davis to John Coltrane, and how picking up a bass in high school completely changed his world. Flea shares how his lifelong friendship with Anthony Kiedis sparked the foundation of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and how their bond, while tested over the decades, has been the glue holding the band together through lineup changes, global tours, and creative evolution. He recalls the band's rise from gritty L.A. clubs to massive stadiums, memorable festival moments, and the infamous chaos of Woodstock.Beyond the music, Flea opens up about his personal growth. He discusses the turning point that led him to give up hard drugs in his 30s, the role of sobriety in helping him embrace health and creativity, and how fatherhood continues to shape his perspective. He emphasizes the importance of self-love, learning from childhood traumas, and finding joy in constant growth, whether through reading, exploring new art, or picking up a basketball to shoot around at 57 years old.Naturally, basketball plays a big role in the conversation. A die-hard Lakers fan, Flea reminisces about the Showtime era with Magic and Kareem, the ups and downs of the team over the years, and his respect for LeBron James's longevity and excellence. The discussion connects the worlds of sports and music, highlighting how teamwork, trust, and chemistry are just as crucial on the court as they are on stage. The crew also touch on the cultural shifts in music, from the originality demanded in earlier eras to today's algorithm-driven sameness, and Flea reflects on the importance of pushing boundaries and staying true to individuality. He also shines a light on his nonprofit, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, which has been teaching hundreds of kids every week for over two decades, giving them the same gift of music that changed his own life. From smashing guitars to smashing stereotypes, Flea proves why he's one of the most compelling figures in modern music. This episode is equal parts funny, insightful, and inspiring, offering a rare glimpse into the mind of a rock legend who's still as passionate, curious, and relentless as ever.

Duck. Breathe. Pulse. Repeat. The beat hits, and everything else steps aside. In this episode, Chris & Jody journey into the hidden choreography of sound—where one signal controls another, and side-chaining becomes more than a trick. It becomes feel. What starts as a lesson in DAW setup and MPC Live integration quickly morphs into a deconstruction of space, impact, and the rhythm behind rhythm. Compression is the hammer. Side-chaining is the sculptor. Basslines yield to kicks. Pads inhale and exhale. You'll learn the how, sure. The routing. The thresholds. The tools. But more importantly, you'll learn the why—the artistic intent behind the technical choices. Oh, and the usual chaos? It's there. Along with Friday Finds that might just blow a few fuses (in the best way). Plug in. Tune out. Let the side-chain lead. #SideChainSecrets #StudioAlchemy #SonicSculpting #MixingWithEmotion #HomeStudioCraft #AudioMovement #InsideTheRecordingStudio #CreativeMixing

Send us a textThis is the fourth episode in a 5-part guest lecture series in GCM 806 Advanced Typography, speaking with design typography pros from across North America! This episode features Jamie Chang, founder of Manic Type in Toronto, Canada. You'll hear Jamie draw parallels between brand identity design and type design, better understand his process and hear about ways that designing a typeface can get out of hand (in a both a good way and bad way). You'll hear how Jamie decides what kind of type to design next, demystifying the licensing of his fonts, and why he doesn't use AI in his process. Finally you'll hear why creativity shouldn't always be the goal. The thread that travels throughout the conversation is a brilliant analogy comparing the type design industry to the music industry. You'll never look at a font (or a guitar!) the same way again. I'm all about interesting projects with interesting people! Let's Connect on the web or via Instagram. :)

Bonus Episode: Sean Hurley Breaks Down His Most Iconic Basslines Sean Hurley is a renowned bassist of both studio and stage, known for his dynamic playing and musicality among the top artists in Pop and Rock Music. He gained significant recognition as sideman for John Mayer, dating back to the Battle Studies tour (2010), and then continuing on as a session bassist, contributing to some Mayer's most popular hits on Born and Raised, Paradise Valley, and Sob Rock. Hurley also played a crucial role in Robin Thicke's break-out album (The Evolution of Robin Thicke), laying down smooth, groove-driven basslines that helped define Thicke's signature sound and R&B style. Additionally, Hurley toured and recorded with Vertical Horizon during their debut album, adding depth and precision to the band's alternative rock vibe, ultimately leading to several chart-topping hits. Here I'll sit down with Sean to talk about his extensive session career, his iconic bass playing, the gear uses to get his signature sound, and get him to re-create some of his most iconic tones for the biggest hits he played on.   SPONSORS Sweetwater Gear Exchange | Sweetwater's Used Gear Marketplace Sign up FREE with no seller fees when you put your earnings on a Sweetwater gift card https://sweetwater.com/used   Sean's Preferred Amplifier | Ampeg B15  Check out Ampeg's NEW pedal-format B15 & SVT all-in-one DI https://ampeg.com/products/pedals/sgt...   Sean's Preferred Strings | LaBella  La Bella 760FL (43-104) https://www.labella.com/product/760fl/ La Bella RX-N4D (45-65-85-105)  https://www.labella.com/product/rx-n4d/   Sean's Preferred Overdrive | EBS Valve Drive  https://ebssweden.com/content2/effect...   Sean's Preferred Tuner | Peterson StroboStomp  https://www.petersontuners.com/shop/p...   Sean's Preferred Cables | Asterope Pro Studio:  https://www.asterope.com/custom-shop/...
