The Central Coasting radio show at www.orbital-radio.com weekly on a Friday morning 0700-0900 AEDT. Warming sounds broadcast from the Central Coast NSW. Loosely inspired by the beautiful place I live. Music for the beach, a boat, somewhere outdoors or just to lift your vibration. The music speaks for itself. A genre-defying mix of global rhythms aimed to soothe, move and intrigue. Ambient tones. Laidback Balearic influenced obscurities and rarities. Many shades of Hip-Hop. Classic and modern disco edits. Dubby pitched down dance floor sounds. Dream House and more. TOM PENNY:- A local Sydney DJ who is probably just as well known in the booth as he is dancing in front of it. A true punter and music fanatic. Having a deep bag of tunes, you may catch him doing the feel-good house and disco sets or 3 am assaults hammering techno and breakbeats. Flexibility and range are what he prides himself on. "This mix was a load of fun for me, I've listened to Dick's shows and was instantly was excited. I feel like the coast and the ocean is a special place that flows in and out and that's just as calm as it is unpredictable. So hopefully that translates to the listener.

Constantly swimming in aural pleasures, you’ll either find Adi Toohey controlling the dancefloor from a Sydney DJ booth, presenting Saturday Sunset on FBi Radio, working in record stores or hosting parties with her Rimbombo crew. Now a graduate headliner, Toohey carved a name opening for the likes of Hunee, Young Marco, Bicep and The Black Madonna, playing Dark Mofo, Subsonic and Splendour in the Grass festivals and for interstate crews Club Coco, Lucid and A Love Supreme. With a musical CV like that Adi seemed a natural choice to warm up the dance floor for our inaugural B3 event with Gerd Janson, Dj Koze and Charlotte de Witte. As expected, she delivered, and played a warm and inviting two hours which set the scene for an amazing night of music. We are very pleased to release Adi’s set from that night, and we are confident that this might just be your new favourite mix. @aditoohey ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Friday, Nov 23rd: Novel x Other People Pres. It was during his third year at High school he began fiddling with DJ equipment. Soup learnt about the dazzling new music form hip-hop and began developing production skills on crude sampling equipment in luxurious 8bit, his computer had an amazing 2 megabytes of memory. He began digging for samples and was mostly enthralled by Rhythm and Blues, Soul, early electronic music and spoken word records. Soup has recently signed to the reformed Creative Vibes which is now under the umbrella of MGM Groove Merchants. Look out for a new album early in 2010. Soup has remixed Aria nominated Watussi as well as Cookin On 3 Burners, both of which are on the amazing Knowfoowl label. Soup has DJed in many clubs around Australia including a long residency at Tonic and Blue hotel and the legendary Sounds of Seduction with Jay Katz from the Mu Meson Archives. Check him out currently at The Marble Bar, Miss Peaches, Tokyo Sing Song, Palmer & Co, The Bank Upstairs, The Civic Hotel, Cafe Lounge and The Lansdowne Hotel. His sets are always eclectic but the common thread is soul. His first love is Rhythm and Blues but don’t be surprised to hear lots of different styles of music mixed and blended into his sets. Founding the Fonke Knomaads, Soup became producer, DJ and part time MC for the left field Sydney Hip-hop pioneers. They released a 5 track E.P. called "The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of..." on the now defunct label PoBoy records .Soup moved on to sign with influential Australian record label Creative Vibes . He soon released the groundbreaking Trip-Hop Album "Souperloops". Soup coined the term sampology and his tracks began popping up on several international compilations as well as having an album of the week on JJJ. This was the first local hip hop release to be given such an honour. The album was influential to local bands such as The Resin Dogs and Fretless. Further releases include collaborations with Fat Pizza star Sleek the Elite, the mini album "Eclectro" and the feature length album "From Anuva Planet" featuring Swollen Members and Gift of Gab from Blacalicious . Soup's last release was "Beatroot-The Edible Root of the Beat" which is out on Invada records. A label run by members of Katalyst and Portishead. It is an album true to form with a variety of hip-hop and twisted electronic styles to keep those kids jumping. ARIA Award winning singer/songwriter Deni Hines will release her brand new studio album “The Soul Sessions” worldwide on November 18. The album will be released in Japan on November 16 via PVine, and is already creating a buzz prerelease. The forthcoming lead single “What About Love” is a modern Motownhomage written by Deni and Sydney producer/writer Eddie Said of Kings X Music. The album features her interpretations of songs from luminaries including King Curtis, Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Jill Scott, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston among others. The album also includes 3 original songs cowritten by Deni, including a brand new acoustic version of her 2001 song “Runnin’”, written with Dennis & Darren Dowlut. Rachel May (bit.ly/RachelMay-FB) is the deep and techy alter ego of Minx: bit.ly/Minx-SC, who is a well Sydney DJ/producer signed to EMI Records. Needless to say, this young lady has been on a whirlwind tour of the world over the past few years since signing to EMI. She's travelled to Ibiza, where she has played at a little club called Pacha, London, and Los Angeles, where she played at the Grammy Awards after party. Minx has also turned her hand to production, with her latest single 'Heaven' released on EMI Records: bit.ly/Heaven-iTunes, featuring Chris Arnott on vocals and a remix from Motez. But Minx's big room sounds are miles apart from what you'll here from Rachel May today. Rachel keeps this mix pretty tight, with nice deep rolling basslines, a hint of acid, a slice of tech... but mostly house, with a side of classic vocals, just how we like it. Have a listen... The first DHA podcast guest mix is from a local Sydney DJ who goes by the name Aidan James. You can find Aidan playing at various parties across this beautiful city, more specifically of late at a new deep tech house night called Lush. Look out for the next installment of Lush in the coming months. Aidan describes this mix as "a little out of character" compared to his usual tech sounds, as it is comprised of an entire list of deep house tracks, but nonetheless it's very fitting for our first DHA guest mix. It has a very summery feel, with a number of string-based tracks surrounded by vocal tracks. Tracklist: 01. Sai | Red (Original Mix) 02. Rober Puentes | Doppler Effect (Original Mix) 03.
