This week we finally have no races on the calendar, so we focused on answering questions. We talked about using the bike trainer and troubleshooting shifting issues, the new Zwift Hub One, how many riders it takes to safely take (or share) the lane, stack height on triathlon bikes, taking photos while exercising, how we eat before a race, and more! To become a podcast supporter, as well as submit your own questions to the podcast, head over to ThatTriathlonLife.com Regarding cold feet, we reached out to Jonathan Lee (@leejonathan_) and here's what he had to say about heated socks:Heated socks are a game changer, and most allow you to select different heat levels that allow you to maintain comfort through changing conditions. You can get cheap options on AliExpress, but most have the heating elements underneath the toes, and this is uncomfortable and can get super hot in cycling shoes. So if you get those ones and find them uncomfortable, depending on the design of the sock, you can cut out the heating elements and hand sew them to a pair of socks you like. These for example: Winter Moto Heated Socks As promised, here is the Fly Thermal Jacket Paula talked about on the podcast

In this dog days edition of the BFG podcast, host Neal Pollack welcomes new contributor Chris Lambert to discuss the most important issue of our time: People taking photos of movies while they are in movies. This should be a crime, though Chris remembers a time when movies used to be "more chill." He recalls going to see 'Saw' with his friends in a year when Neal was already a full-blown adult. Regardless of the reason, both Neal and Chris think this trend needs to stop, and they hope that once people readjust to going out in public sometime later this decade, they will stop taking photos of movies while they are in movies. Elsewhere in the world, school districts in Florida are flagging 'Romeo and Juliet' for inappropriate content. Houston, Texas, is closing school libraries and turning them into detention centers. Looks like it's back-to-censorship time. Sharyn Vane joins Neal for a semi-annual discussion of all the ways that school districts are restricting access to books for teenagers. One district is even making it illegal to check books out for yourself if you're under 18 years old. We're not just arguing about 'Gender Queer' anymore. BFG will always be on top of these issues. And we'll always be on top of 'Twisted Metal,' the Peacock adaptation of the 1990's apocalyptic road-rage video game series. Scott Gold is all over this topic, he loves Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz, who bring a kind of sweet romance to a Mad Max-end-of-the world scenario. And Scott and Neal have nothing but praise for "Sweet Tooth," the crazed blood-soaked clown who rules over Las Vegas and may or may not be based on either Bugsy Siegel or Britney Spears. Regardless, all hail Sweet Tooth, thanks for making August a little more fun.Enjoy the show!

Sentosa is one of Singapore's most popular tourist spot for its uniquely Singaporean attractions, man-made sandy beaches, and overpriced drinking holes with a generous view to beach bods in trunks and bikinis. But beneath all that glamour is a dark past and buried secrets. Listen to confessions by people who had worked or stayed there, and the stories they will remember… forever. The first confession was shared with with us by someone who had worked as a scare actor for halloween. Second confession talks about the superstitions of taking photos with just three people. Our confessor has photographic evidence that grandma's cautionary tale was right. In the third confession, an events organiser was driving home late from Sentosa had an unwelcome passenger hitching his ride. She had long black hair and a white gown. Our final confession is a reminder why our grandparents always advised us to never acknowledge any strange sightings at night. All these and more on this podcast episode of Hauntings in Sentosa only on Supernatural Confessions. Enjoy. A barrister is concerned a new court decision will create a precedence of "no consequences" for police who take unlawful photos of people. The Court of Appeal has ruled a man who had his picture taken by an officer during a random police stop was unlawful and breached his right to privacy. [picture id="4LPDI1E_RNZD4238_jpg" crop="16x10" layout="full"] But despite that - the court upheld the man's convictions. Barrister Marie Taylor-Cyphers is worried the decision will allow evidence to be used in court despite it being gathered unlawfully. She spoke to Corin Dann.

The police minister is facing fierce criticism over his suggestion the Government may change the law to allow officers to keep taking photographs of adults and children for looking out of place or suspicious. Chris Hipkins says the pendulum has swung too far in favour of privacy over surveillance. His comments follow an investigation which found the police were routinely illegally taking photographs and storing thousands of images which should be destroyed. Here's political reporter Katie Scotcher.

Despite a damning investigation, the police have not been directed to stop taking photos of adults in public ad hoc. An 18-month long official inquiry, triggered by RNZ reporting, has found police have routinely and illegally been taking tens of thousands of photos of ordinary New Zealanders. A compliance notice nine months ago ordered them to stop taking photos of teenagers and children, and they say they have. Police also say they have deleted 6000 photos of young people or adults in custody. But that compliance notice does not cover older adults in public. The Police Commissioner Andrew Coster spoke to reporter Phil Pennington on Friday - he does not accept where the investigation report draws the line over what is unlawful. RNZ has asked both the Police and Privacy Commissioner for regular reports police have done on making changes and deleting photos - no reports have been provided.
This is a HUGE topic in the photography community, because as a photographer, we've all been asked for free photos by friends and family at least once in our career. It's not always a bad thing, but you should know where to draw boundaries, and be confident in your decision to no longer provide your services for free. On today's episode we are going to talk alllll about it, and give you some advice for what we've done in certain scenarios!

Janice was stressed, she needed some cute photoshoot ideas for her upcoming holiday but she had no idea where to start. Her family reunion will finally become a reality after years of planning. If you are from a decent sized family with several adults, you'll understand the difficulty of getting everyone together in a physical location at the same time. Because this is so special she wanted to get a number of special photographs taken of these memories. Yes, while hiring a photographer is a great idea, they'll never understand the family as intimately as you do. As an entrepreneur it's important to remember why you started your journey in business. For most of us, we wanted more freedom to spend time with family and loved ones. What better way to celebrate it via a family reunion. If you're looking for a fun and creative way to capture a special moment in time, a photo shoot is the perfect solution. You can have a professional photographer take your photos, or you can take them yourself with a friend. Here are some cute photoshoot ideas that will help you get the perfect picture. Try taking photos at different angles or in different locations. Use natural light whenever possible, and experiment with different props and poses. If you're looking for something extra special, try a themed photoshoot like a birthday party or family gathering. And don't forget to post your photos on social media for all to see! Read on for some more great photoshoot ideas! Taking Photos of Your Family or Friends Cooking One great way to capture a moment in time is to take photos of your family or friends cooking. This is a great way to show off some skills in the kitchen, and it's also a fun way to spend time with your loved ones. If you're taking photos of someone cooking, be sure to get a variety of shots. Remember to capture the candid moments too - like someone licking their fingers after tasting the food! A Food Photoshoot If you're a foodie, then a photoshoot focused on food is the perfect way to capture your passion. You can style the food in creative ways and take photos from different angles. Be sure to use a good light source, and experiment with different props. You can also try a themed food photoshoot like a smash cake photoshoot for a child's first birthday or a holiday-themed photoshoot. Whatever you choose, make sure the photos are appetising! In case you want to learn how to take amazing photos for your food blog then checkout out the program at Pretty Focused. Make a Life Event Timeline Photo Album Another great way to capture moments in time is to make a life event timeline photo album. This is a great way to document your life, and it's also a fun project to work on with friends or family. To make a life event timeline photo album, start by picking a date range - like from your birth until now or from your child's birth until their first birthday. Then, gather photos that represent different events during that time period. You can also add captions or journal entries to accompany the photos. Once you have all of your photos, arrange them in chronological order and put them in an album or frame. This makes for a great conversation starter, and it's a unique way to display your photos. A Photoshoot with Your Pet If you're a pet owner, then a photo shoot with your furry friend is a must. You can capture some adorable moments, and it's also a great way to bond with your pet. To get started, choose a location that's comfortable for both you and your pet. For example, if you're taking photos outside, be sure to pick a shady spot on a cool day. And if you're taking photos inside, choose a room with plenty of natural light. Once you've found the perfect location, it's time to get creative with your shots. Try different angles and distances, and don't forget to capture those cute candid moments too.

He has worked on thousands of projects for hundreds of different companies ranging from international brands and airlines to small pre start ups. He is also a podcast host of “We Do Hard Things”, brand strategist and speaker. KEY TAKEAWAYS Mark originally went to film school and left to work in television and eventually a corporate environment producing training materials and marketing. To build a company takes time, experience compounds, connections build and skills improve. Overnight success can be perceived, but in the background all the past experience helps support the version of the person people see. Be specific. Vagueness achieves very little. Be precise about your goals and they will be easier to aim for. BEST MOMENTS ‘I started “Phantom Media” in 2006. I was 23, my oldest daughter was only a week old when I decided to do this. My wife had no income and within two months I quit my job, had no money, no income, new born baby, my wife was at home and I was like ‘ Im gonna start this company” - Mark ‘You can show up like an overnight success because people won't see the work you've done in the background. The work you've done in the background doesn't have to be a slog or even linear.' – Mark ‘If we are vague, if we're fuzzy, if we're not quite sure. I'm struggling with this right now. Somehow, we convinced Lou Brutus of hardDrive and hardDriveXL to join us for a conversation! Since day 1 of ROCKCAST With Eric & Parker, we've wanted to have him on the show! So much to talk about but some of what we covered consists of our mutual love of story telling, his Slipknot mask potential, a love of lunar and solar photography, Darla the wonder dong and, of course, we play a game of Would You Rather! Straight from the hardDrive website: The year was 1996. The date was the 4th day of July. The tattered remnants of the hard music community of these once proud United States were clinging to shattered dreams and the nearly forgotten remnants of glory in a rock radio world that had seemingly forgotten how to play things that didn't suck. It was during these bleak times a radio show burst upon the scene. A radio show that would help put extreme new rock music on the broadcast map. A radio show that would save America itself. The radio show was HardDrive. Since its birth, HardDrive has become a respected and influential extreme rock (for those you who don't know what this is, suffice to say it's a cross between hard rock and modern rock) radio show in broadcast history. Hosted since its inception by the award winning Lou Brutus, the show has constantly defined what new hard music is all about. HardDrive has given listeners across the continental United States and Alaska their first taste of bands including Disturbed, Godsmack, Rammstein, Slipknot and tool, among hundreds of others. Week after week, HardDrive interviews virtually every extreme musician that exists. ‘Nuff said. As long as HardDrive is on the air, U.S. citizens are assured inflation will remain low, American prestige will remain high, and extreme rock music will always have a home. In February 2007, HardDrive‘s popularity continued to grow when the show launched a daily daypart, dubbed HardDrive XL – now on the air 5 hours a night, 5 nights a week nationwide! In September 2011, HardDrive and HardDrive XL producer Roxy Myzal was awarded Radio Contraband‘s “Non-Traditional Rock Programmer of the Year.“ ROCKCASTshow.com LouBrutus.com hardDriveRadio.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rockcastshow/message
