SAMANTHA KELLY, a speaker and author from Ireland, and also known as the "Tweeting Goddess", joined us to discuss her award-winning expertise on Twitter, and how YOU can use social media to enhance your business. We will also discuss her book, "Little Book Of Twitter Magic". FROM HER WEBSITE: "My Twitter journey began in 2011, with my first business, “Funky Goddess”. With very little social media savvy and a marketing budget of almost zero, I turned to Twitter to promote my product. It began as a simple series of conversations. I reached out to other parents like me, who were the target market for my business and we started to chat. Soon, conversations turned into connections and connections turned into followers. Before I knew it, I was creating genuine relationships. Building a community. As my following grew, I was approached by other local businesses to ask if I could help them capture the same growth that I had achieved. By applying the same principles of engaging, interacting and always trying to add value, I showed them how to master social media and use it to get a real return on investment for their business. It wasn't long before I sold my company to focus on my new-found passion full time. Since then, I've shown so many businesses how to create successful social media campaigns that build brand reputation, boost sales and increase revenue. My speciality is making connections and creating a buzz around your events and campaigns. Getting your business noticed. Twitter completely changed my life. I understand how to use it to maximum advantage to get real results and I'd love to help you do the same." www.tweetinggoddess.com

What is up SharkNation! On this episode Luke and Mark catchup with the Samantha Kelly, Social Media Strategist, International Speaker, Author and Trainer, AKA the "Tweeting Goddess". Samantha is also the founder of Women's Inspire Network (a global network for female entrepreneurs). Samantha is also a Tedx and public speaker and has been building her online presence since she launched her first business -"Funky Goddess" (a gift box company aimed at teenaged girls). Key Takeaways: 1. Be a content producer rather than a consumer. We live in the new age of communication. It will be those who communicate in the most effective way, to the most amount of people who will win. Make sure you are building your presence and exposing your business on social channels. 2. Social media is a game that can be learned. Samantha's company teaches individuals and companies to be successful on social. There is no excuse for unengaging content. 3. Thinking global is key to success. We have so much reach because of the internet. Exposing yourself and your business to the wider world should be a priority. 4. Start today. People are hungry for relevant, engaging content. Look at what your competitors are doing and try to build a presence that better engages with your target audience. There will always be a debate on social media - the negatives and the positives - and that's great; there should be. But at the end of the day, especially for entrepreneurs, the need for an effective social media presence is table stakes and won't be going away.
https://youtu.be/nJmc3YMy1Xs I love learning new things. Last week I discussed the need to build your own community - and how much of that community may be beyond the borders of your physical community. It naturally follows that we have a guest on the show this week: Sam Kelly, aka the Tweeting Goddess. Sam is top-tier, a legend in the Twitter space, and an expert on how to appropriately utilize social media. There will always be a debate on social media - the negatives and the positives - and that’s great; there should be. But at the end of the day, especially for entrepreneurs, the need for an effective social media presence is table stakes and won’t be going away. For me, I’ve always approached social media with part willingness, part hesitation and a nine foot pole at the ready. I’ve seen people embrace it and enjoy it; I’ve seen people rely solely on it for validation (in a depressing kind of way). It’s an environment rife with inauthenticity, judgment and negativity. But so is life. And what I never really thought about is that while we tend to easily focus on the negative - there is a lot of positive in the social media world. I never focused on trying to make it work for me and make it my own; how to build my community of positivity within it. How to recognize that malcontents exist and let them fly. A year into the pandemic, people are starting to see the value of these communities. As I said last week, our “crew” may not be in our local community. We may need to search for our “people.” Everyone, in my belief, has something incredible to share. But everyone also needs to find the people with whom they like to share it. These people exist - we just have to find them. Sam the Tweeting Goddess covers everything this week - from the assumptions we are making that are flat wrong to the purpose of community to finding that balance of living online vs. being present with the people around you. It’s worth the listen, and worth a coaching exercise of evaluating your gaps and how to use community to build your personal dynasty. There is most certainly a social aspect to thriving in the new economy, and why nothing will replace solid, in-person relationships, supplementing that with your online community will show its benefits as well. Thanks to Sam for the episode. Follow her (and me!) on Twitter and all the handles. More info below! Sam Kelly Web: tweetinggoddess.com Twitter: @TweetingGoddess Women's Inspire Network Information
This week’s guest is Samantha Kelly (aka Tweeting Goddess), a female entrepreneur who has impressively turned her life around for herself and her family. Samantha openly shares her personal journey of being a single mother of 2 girls and reliant on social welfare for a very long time. She began to turn her life around when she chose to cut alcohol out of her life 13 years ago and took the brave step to try and become financially independent through entrepreneurial endeavours. This led to her becoming a contestant on RTE’s Dragon Den, and to many other exciting opportunities, including giving a TED talk in 2015. Samantha came to realise her great strength was in building social networks and business communities, connecting small business owners and offering them a variety of business supports through her networks. Samantha now runs the Women Inspire Network (WIN) and has over 420 active members. I think these support networks are an invaluable way for women to empower other women, through even simple things like sharing advice, making an introduction, or just lending a supportive ear. I enjoyed hearing Samantha’s story – she is down to Earth and honest about the highs and the lows of both her business and personal life. I always find it so shockingly refreshing when people share their vulnerabilities – so I really thank Samantha for this. Ronan talks to social media expert Samantha Kelly better known as the Tweeting Goddess. Samantha talks about the positives of social media, how social media can help in these difficult times, and why a community spirit is appearing on Twitter.
Do you tweet? I know that for many of us, Twitter seems to be that platform plagued with controversy and turmoil, but did you know that it can be the backbone of the social media in your business? Samantha Kelly, the Tweeting Goddess, shares her tips and tricks for using Twitter correctly, but also why it is one of the best platforms for building relationships. Samantha started her entrepreneurial journey at a very tumultuous time in her life. She’d recently lost her father, gone through a divorce, and her daughter was becoming a woman. It was as she was trying to find some information for her daughter that she realized there was a huge gap in the women’s health market. She created her first business by building a box of goodies designed for young girls to coach them through those first few milestones of puberty. Samantha quickly learned that successful businesses have strong social media strategies and began studying all about it. This was when she first discovered Twitter. Samantha realized she’d found her calling when other entrepreneurs began approaching her to learn more about Twitter and overall strategy on social media. Listen as she discusses going from the Funky Goddess to the Tweeting Goddess and how her life has done a complete 180 at the same time. Building great business relationships requires work and effort from all parties. Be kind to others and that kindness will come back to you. Samantha is full of wonderful advice that you won’t want to miss. Years ago, if someone had told us that a social media site would be limited to 140 characters and still be successful, none of us would have believed them. But Twitter has accomplished this. With only 140 characters, they have made social media a contextual and personal experience. But why does work so well? Experts say it is because people can get a sense of who you are on Twitter or what your business is about. It reveals what type of things you are interested in; it will suggest things you are interested in. It essentially lies at the heart of this new sharing economy and it is a global. But it does not come without controversy, and Tweets become worldwide discussions. But it can also be great for your image or your business. In this episode, we talk about the advantages of Twitter, the pitfalls that you need to avoid and the advantages that come with Tweeting.
