The A Shot Of Truth podcast is an incredibly raw and real platform that provides a voice to amazing undocumented individuals, allowing them to share their stories and resources. This podcast is truly amazing, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Each episode guarantees you will learn something new and leave with your heart full.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the host herself. She is dynamic, thoughtful, smart, and fun. Her ability to create a safe space for guests to open up about their experiences is commendable. The voices and work amplified on this show are so needed in today's society where immigrants often feel marginalized and silenced.

As immigrants, many of us have grown accustomed to living in the shadows without a voice. The A Shot Of Truth podcast opens up the space for us to talk about our stories, traumas, and successes. Listeners will find themselves identified with each episode and realize that as undocumented immigrants, they are not alone. The shared experiences foster healing and provide a sense of unity.

This podcast offers thoughtful conversations on important life experiences. It delves deep into topics that are often overlooked or misunderstood by mainstream media. The host has a beautiful and smart voice that captures your attention from start to finish. The thought-provoking discussions will leave you reflecting on your own beliefs and perceptions.

While it is difficult to find any flaws in this podcast, one potential downside could be that it focuses primarily on the experiences of undocumented individuals and may not appeal as widely to those who do not directly relate to this specific topic. However, even for those outside of this community, it provides valuable insight into the drive and beautiful culture of the Latinx community.

In conclusion, The A Shot Of Truth podcast is an amazing platform that provides visibility and amplifies the voices of undocumented individuals. It allows them to share their stories while educating listeners about their experiences. With its dynamic host leading thought-provoking conversations, this podcast is a must-listen for immigrants, DACA recipients, and anyone interested in understanding and appreciating the strength and resilience of the Latinx community.

Here it is! At last! My Guatemala Solo reflection. I traveled under Advanced Parole with the Cultural Leadership Fellowship out of @Scholarfundwa and let me tell you, it was beautiful. This was the first time I left the US in 27 years. I carried a lot of shame for not returning home instead but I wouldn't change it for the world. We traveled to Flores Peten, Antigua, Lago Atitlan and Guatemala City. I learned so much about community outside of the US context. It left me longing for home and more eager to exist in kindness. The episode ends with a love letter I wrote to Guatemala. Huge shout out to Alejandra Perez for inviting me to your home and making it happen–my heart is full.

This episode highlights Edwin Soto Saucedo, a queer undocumented person residing in Tongva lands also known as Los Angeles. Edwin is a creative, loving human being. We talk all about missing el perrero and connecting with people. Our conversation includes highlighting the impact large pro-immigration organizations have on our community and society. Along with the narratives that once helped us survive--reviving as criminalizing and elitist internalizations. The generational conversation we have around organizing in the immigrant movement and now realizing if we had focused inward we may have shifted how some of these conversations are reflected upon. He mentions the power womxn have in all movements and the importance of centering and celebrating QTBIWOC. Edwin knows when womxn lead, we win. We are manifesting a meeting at a cumbiaton one day--hopefully with you too!

I really have to hype this person up because they're doing incredible work. Kevin Muñoz came to the United States From Guatemala and has lived across the country in California, Colorado, and New Jersey. He is giving people the tools they need to start navigating the financial world themselves regardless of immigration status. My favorite thing about this is that he does it both in English and Spanish and makes all his work accessible on youtube, podcast platforms, and on his website. In this episode we talk all about investing in yourself, creating a financial vision and the impact Latinos have on the US economy. From retirement to emergency funds to how to buy your first home--Latin American Educational Opportunity Podcast (LEO podcast) has it all. “The LEO Podcast was created with the purpose to breakdown barriers within the Latinx community and shed light on topics that aren't typically brought up in our households like finances, mental health, politics, and many more.” We also talk about the importance of being a conscious entrepreneur and investor--we are human before anything else. Join us on this episode, Financial Liberation for All.
