Create Tomorrow podcast host Cassandra Napoli invites co-founders of motherhood platform Spread the Jelly, Amrit Tietz and Lauren Levinger, to discuss the complexities of modern motherhood. From maternal ambivalence and tradwife to navigating identity, they expose the stickiness of how societal expectations have shifted from the 1950s to today. Amrit and Lauren discuss social media's unrealistic standards, the impact of technology on parenting and the importance of community and solidarity among women across generations. Listen in on the challenges and joys of being a woman and a mother in the digital age, uncovering the nuanced realities behind the curated images of perfection.
Amrit Tietz is an international DJ and co-founder of the modern motherhood platform Spread the Jelly. Although she initially set out to study economics, Tietz dropped out of college, unbeknownst to her parents, to pursue a path she was more passionate about: music. She auditioned multiple times for the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, a music conservatory, before being accepted into the musical theater program. During her time there, she collected jazz units and switched to a music performance degree while also learning how to DJ on the side. Tietz moved to New York City after graduating and worked various jobs—from waitressing to retail—while taking DJ gigs to build her network. She eventually landed a full-time role at Starworks Agency, advancing from executive assistant to director of talent and engagement. After nearly six years at the ad agency, Tietz decided to take her DJing career full-time, successfully leaping from managing talent to becoming the talent herself. She has since toured globally, performed for iconic names like Dior and Vogue, and had her original music featured in HBO and Apple TV+ productions. While Tietz continues to DJ—and did so even while seven months pregnant—she recently moved into a new space with Spread the Jelly, an independent online platform redefining the narrative around modern motherhood. She and her co-founder, Lauren Levinger, launched the platform as a space for mothers to tell their diverse stories more authentically, build community, and “embrace the sticky” parts of motherhood together. Send us a textThe divide between pain and pleasure, escape and presence, runs through the core of human experience. In this riveting conversation with Amrit Singh Reinsch, we venture beyond conventional thinking about consciousness and healing to discover what happens when we stop running from discomfort.Amrit's extraordinary journey took him from Germany's regimented structure to two decades in India, where meditation and yoga became his pathway to experiencing the profound internal highs our bodies naturally create. "It's a fascinating subject," he explains, comparing these states to the runner's high many already know. "Your human body can do this."The most compelling aspects of our discussion center around intention versus escapism. While many use substances or activities to numb pain, Emerick describes his recent therapeutic psychedelic experience as transformative precisely because it wasn't about avoiding reality but seeing it more clearly. "It's not about going high... it's about having the experience and then taking that with you into our human experience."What emerges is a radical reframing of life's challenges. Rather than obstacles to happiness, difficult emotions become doorways to freedom when we face them directly. This applies not only to our inner work but also to parenting, where witnessing our children's pain without immediately trying to fix it becomes one of the most challenging and necessary forms of love."Have fun," Amrit reminds us in closing. "It's all just one big game." This isn't dismissive but profoundly liberating – an invitation to approach life with curiosity instead of control. By embracing both the light and shadow aspects of being human, we discover a wholeness that transforms how we experience everything.Ready to explore your own relationship with presence and pain? Listen now and discover how accepting the full spectrum of human experience might be the most healing choice you'll ever make.Find out more about Amrit here: https://coachingnow.info/Support the show

SummaryWhat does it really mean to learn in today's world of reels, AI, and short attention spans? In today's episode of “The Gyaan Project”, I'm joined by Prof. Dilip Menon. A global historian, Mellon Chair of Indian Studies at the University of Witwatersrand, and a Science Breakthrough winner—who's spent years exploring how knowledge travels across time, oceans, and cultures. If you're a student, parent, or just curious about why our education feels broken, this episode will shift how you think about learning itself.Key Insights:Teacher-Student Dynamics: Menon invites us to invert the traditional hierarchical relationship between teachers and students, suggesting "a teacher paradoxically is willing to learn."Language & Colonial Legacy: How our ability to theorize in our native languages has been impacted by colonial histories, and why this matters for knowledge creation.Beyond Employability: Why our education systems remain trapped in industrial-era thinking while the world has moved far beyond those needs.Digital Learning: The transformative potential of digital media as active learning tools rather than passive consumption channels.Interdisciplinary Approach: The artificial divide between arts and sciences, and how meaningful education requires breaking down these barriers.Knowledge Creation: Envisioning a future where students actively generate knowledge rather than merely consuming information.Practical Advice: Strategies for focused learning in a distracted age, including deliberate disconnection from constant digital engagement.Prof. Menon's vision for education in 2047 centers on creativity, experimentation, and engagement with AI as partners in knowledge creation rather than threats to human learning. For all details: https://www.thegyaanproject.com/p/ep-306-learning-in-the-amrit-kaal This is a public episode. What if you were told that what you learned in optometry school was wrong? What if you learned about ways to treat your patients that not only different, but sometimes the opposite of what your training has taught you? Would you be open to these new ways? Would you be skeptical?Dr. Amrit Bilkhu is a residency trained, behavioural Optometrist based in Toronto who specializes in pediatrics, binocular vision disorders, and visual processing challenges. The area of behavioural binocular vision takes into account many of a patient's past health and developmental issues/milestones when developing a treatment plan. Amrit calls this holistic approach to vision Functional Optometry. In this episode, we explore Dr. Bilkhu's journey from being a new grad to specializing in BV to opening her own private practice. The part of the discussion that really sets this episode apart is our dive into the BV world. Much of what BV docs do seems to be a bit of mystery to majority of the eyecare world. Is this deliberate or is it an accidental result of poor communication? It turns out that its a bit of both. This episode will change the way you look at binocular vision, how it can help our patients, and how it can be more accessible to all of us.Learn more about Dr. Bilkhu's Pediatric Eye Care Masterclass: https://dramritbilkhu.thinkific.com/products/courses/pediatric-eye-care-masterclassLaunching Wednesday March 12th Save $100 on registration with code: READYSETSEE Connect with Amrit:Instagram.com/dr.amritbilkhuLove the show?
