Vikings vs Chargers… Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings have flown out to Los Angeles to meet the Chargers at StubHub Center, the soccer home of the LA Galaxy. It is the smallest stadium in the NFL only seating 30,000 fans. It promises to be mostly purple with Vikings fans as LA tries to build a fanbase in 2 hours north of San Diego. Good luck with that Chargers. Mike Zimmer leads a team into this contest that looks to make a statement and continue to win their way into the playoffs. To play better and better football. Can they do that against the Phillip Rivers and the Chargers? They may only have a 5-8 record but every lost was by less than a score. They can play and win and should not be taken lightly. Kirk Cousins will have all his weapons with the exception of RB2 Alexander Mattison who was ruled out due to an ankle injury. Adam Thielen will be back and the idea of he and Stefon Diggs along with Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr have the potential to wreak havoc. Bisi Johnson can contribute too, but he is currently listed as questionable with a quad injury. The offense should be able to score points. The defense seemed to employ a defensive backfield rotation that worked last week against the Lions. We should see more of it against the Chargers. Expect more Mike Hughes and Holton Hill, especially if Xavier Rhodes, who is listed as questionable with the ankle injury from last week, doesn’t play well if at all. Rivers is 38 and doesn’t move well, so that also can lead to pressure from the Vikings pass rushers too. All that will help to get a west coast win, outdoors, and on grass, if they start out hot and if the offense can get a big lead, the defense then can make the game one dimensional. That should be a goal to achieve the victory. What other keys to the game do you think the Vikings will need to do? Like, subscribe, and rate us on your favorite podcast aggregator. The LA Galaxy got a crucial three points over the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night. With that victory, the club basically took the Whitecaps out of the playoffs. That is good for the Galaxy. But they still have a steep hill to climb as they get ready for Sporting KC next weekend. On today’s show, your hosts Josh Guesman, and filling in for Kevin Baxter, Larry Morgan get you ready for a wild finish in Major League Soccer. Together, Josh and Larry will highlight the big takeaways from victory over Vancouver while also giving you stats and all the team information you need. Then the guys will talk about Dominic Kinnear’s role in shaping the success of the current lineup and what would happen if Kinnear could sneak this team into the playoffs and make a deep run. Would the Galaxy consider him for their permanent head coaching job? The answer might surprise you! Josh and Larry will also discuss Zlatan Ibrahimović’s hunt for a single-season record and where he stacks up with Galaxy legend’s across the years. Could his single season with the Galaxy reverberate throughout the halls of StubHub Center for years to come? And finally, Josh is going to do his best job of giving you a ton of likely scenarios and help you scoreboard watch for the remaining four weeks of the regular season. There are so many important games down the stretch for the Galaxy and this weekend’s matchup with Sporting KC kicks them all off. Plus, you might want to keep an eye on Real Salt Lake and Portland. Something tells us those are going to be ridiculously interesting games. 60 minutes of Galaxy-talk is on the way. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- It was another disheartening loss to Toronto on Saturday night. And while Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 500th career goal, did the loss solidify the LA Galaxy defense into its own record-setting pace? On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter get you through another rough outing in Canada. But in doing so, the guys will give you all the latest updates on the team, and the search for a coach. First, the guys will start off with some of the bigger takeaways from the 5-3 loss to Toronto. They'll talk about interim head coach Dominic Kinnear's lineup and why it wasn't surprising to see two names playing some significant minutes - Bradford Jamieson IV and Baggio Husidic - and why Jorgen Skjelvik was pulled from the game much earlier than he wanted. Plus, with Ibrahimovic reaching 500 career goals, the guys talk about how ridiculously good he's been for the club this year and why he's quietly leading the Galaxy to one of the top offensive performances in franchise history. Is it surprising that the offense is this good while also understanding just how ridiculously awful the Galaxy defense is? Finally, the guys pull back the curtains to get you a look into the front office and understand just how much has been damaged in two years of atrocious results. And will Ibrahimovic help in the coaching search? Should he? And with some big-name MLS coaches on the wishlist, can this front office convince anyone to come to StubHub Center without big guarantees that they're going to be given time and space to create a new Galaxy organization? We've got a packed show with tons of inside information that you're not going to want to miss. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

But with just six games remaining in the season, was Schmid fired or did he run away from a sinking ship? Your hosts, Josh Guesman, and Kevin Baxter are back to once again try and decipher and decode the public messages the Galaxy have sent out while giving you the best in "insider" info. And the Guys talked to so many people today, with regards to Schmid's ouster/resignation, they've got more than a full show! Josh and Kevin will start by going over the timeline of events that led to the mutual release of Schmid. They'll discuss the Galaxy's press release and the initial reports by Taylor Twellman, as well as what really happened behind the scenes and why you can see the shift in narrative across all the different communications. Was Schmid's relationship with the players the cause of the separation? And will Dominic Kinnear be the guy to come in and rescue the season? We'll give you the players feelings on these two coaches and tell you what everyone had to say about Kinnear when compared to Schmid. Finally, the guys will layout the possible ramifications of the coaching change to the front office. The common thread through each of the hirings and firings, is the Galaxy's front office finally on the firing line? Would Dan Beckerman and Phil Anshutz lower the boom and clean house? It's clear that the once untouchable Galaxy organization is falling into little pieces. But could they finally land the big coach they've been looking for and is StubHub Center even a destination for the high-priced talent they seek? BONUS: We've included the full 20-minute conference call that Galaxy President Chris Klein put out after the resignation of Sigi Schmid. You'll find that at the very end of the show after the credits!

The latest, a 2-2 draw with Minnesota United FC at StubHub Center on Saturday night. Can the Galaxy's defense do any better? And can the Galaxy get the result they need to continue the progress towards the playoffs? On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back to update you on the significant amount of Galaxy news the last few days have offered. That includes updates on the injuries to Romain Alessandrini and Giovani dos Santos and talking about the possible illness of Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he gets ready to score goal number 500. The guys will start with the result against Minnesota and really dig into the main talking points from the game. Especially why Giovani dos Santos was sorely missed in the second half of the game and why he's a continued no-show for playing actual minutes this year for the club. And the Galaxy's Designated Players seem to all have issues of staying on the field this season -- Josh has the stats to back it up. Next, Josh and Kevin get into refereeing controversies and why the Loons seemed so concerned with Dave Romney on the night. Here's a hint: his offensive prowess. Did Ibrahimovic's illness keep him from performing against Minnesota? And could he be tasked with having to play on turf against Seattle next weekend? Finally, the guys will tell you why you're crazy to think Wayne Rooney's assist was even close to the level of Ibrahimovic's comeback vs LAFC, and why the Galaxy sanctioned supporters for the incident at Banc of California stadium but apparently don't want to talk about it. Also, why LAFC could fix the issues that created the problem but probably won't because they don't get it. It's a packed show with tons of Galaxy talk! Thanks for joining us today and every day! But they didn't get the deal they wanted. And that means the Galaxy are going the distance with this roster in 2018. Is that okay? Or did they blow a golden opportunity? On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are back to discuss exactly what happened during the transfer window, whose names may have been involved and ultimately why the decision to not make any "big deals" was the right one. Or maybe it was the exact wrong one. Why did the Galaxy only get $175K in 2019 allocation money for the top spot in the allocation order? The guys will discuss what leverage the club had an why the deal ultimately still helps the Galaxy close a deal in the offseason. They'll also discuss the Galaxy's Salary Cap Space room, why cutting someone wouldn't open up the room the Galaxy needed and why the club couldn't simply block Portland from making the deal they eventually made. With an eye to the offseason, Josh and Eric will also look at contracts that aren't likely to be renewed. That could open up a significant chunk of change in the offseason meaning the Galaxy have a realistic chance and doing something special in 2019. But continued defensive issued once again marred a Galaxy victory and there may not be any answers to this puzzle! On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and LA Times soccer reporter Kevin Baxter are back to go back over all the good and the bad from that game and try and decide if the Galaxy should make some moves to make the defense better, or ride the wave of results to the playoffs. Coul they even be considered contenders at this point? First, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had another huge game for the club. His first Galaxy hat-trick follows another big Galaxy name. And it's been quite some time since someone in the blue, white, and gold put three into the back of the net in a single game. Josh and Kevin will next look at Giovani dos Santos and how the Mexican National teamer has been playing much better over the last couple of games. He scored a goal, assisted on another, and generally looked to be an important piece of the Galaxy's unlocking of Orlando. But is his self-imposed press exile hurting him with the fans, the league, and the press? Should the most expensive player on the field be able to shrug off his post-game responsibilities? Finally, the guys will look at the other impact players like Sebastian Lletget, Perry Kitchen, and Ola Kamara and see how they rubbed this game the right or wrong way. And does Sigi Schmid deserve some serious praise in how he's reconstructed the roster and how he makes his halftime adjustments? We've got 75 minutes of Galaxy-Talk headed your way! Don't miss it! PANDA & PATO T-SHIRTS LINK --> https://www.bonfire.com/cog-panda-pato-podcast-shirt/ COG SHOP LINK --> http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/shop CoG Studios, CA -- The LA Galaxy kept their unbeaten streak alive by taking down Orlando City in another exciting game at StubHub Center. CoG Studios, CA -- The LA Galaxy are coming off back-to-back draws against the two worst teams in the league - the San Jose Earthquakes and DC United. We guaranteed some wins. So now we're blaming people! On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Wendy Thomas are back to take you over the 2-2 draw with DC United and also talk about what this Galaxy team looks like after 17 games. It's the midway point and that should mean something. Is this team better than the 2017 team? Can the Galaxy make the playoffs with the personnel they have? And what needs to go right for the Galaxy to start making some progress up the standings? The United game showed a glaring weakness for the Galaxy and it's a lot bigger issue than just the defense. You see, the Galaxy don't know how to play with possession. So when they score first, they're direct passing cedes possession too easily. That means that when they do try to play a possession game, they give the ball away in bad areas and turn the ball over for goals. But Josh and Wendy have a way to fix all of that. And they also have some strong thoughts on what the Galaxy should do with Giovani dos Santos. They even run a skit about it. The Galaxy are entering the second half of the season in a nearly identical spot as last year. That should scare fans away from this team. Because it should still feel like preseason for the Galaxy. And they're finally getting players back and the entire team might be the secret weapon the Galaxy haven't had this season. And this weekend should be a great test. With Gyasi Zardes and Jon Kempin entering StubHub Center for the first time since they were traded and let go, emotions will be running on high on Saturday. It's three points the Galaxy need desperately. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory!

CoG Studios, CA -- The LA Galaxy are gearing up for a Cali-Clasico rivalry with the San Jose Earthquakes. And they're facing a team that is worse than they are in the friendly confines of StubHub Center with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It has the makings of a win, if we're honest. And that's a good thing for the Galaxy! Your hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are back to walk you through 65 minutes of Galaxy-talk, news, and entertainment. And with the start of a very busy time for the club, the guys are chalk-full of information you can use to impress your friends. In the rumor department, Josh and Eric will discuss the Galaxy's involvement with Everton's Leighton Baines. Is this a realistic target for the Galaxy? Could this be an answer to the Galaxy's defensive issues? Or has everything on this front come to a screeching halt? Staying on the defensive side of things, the guys will address a bigger rumor that could see American International Geoff Cameron join the Galaxy. They'll discuss what bringing Cameron to the club could mean, how much it might cost, and whether or not, from the public relations side of things, he could be a good fit in Los Angeles. Then Josh and Eric will tell you about the very real possibility the Galaxy may have finally had it with the dos Santos brothers. With rumors swirling that the brothers may be on the trading block and that the club might be looking for suitors for after the World Cup. Could this be a huge first step in clearing the payroll of $8 million? Finally, your hosts will get you ready for Friday's matchup with the San Jose Earthquakes as they take your calls and give you all the latest info on the Galaxy's NorCal foes. We're glad you could join us and we can't wait to see you as the Galaxy's schedule gets crazy busy in the next 16 days! Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

CoG Studios, CA -- The LA Galaxy got screwed! It's that simple! The officiating benefited one team and that team was not the Galaxy! On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back to walk you through all the craziness that loss to the New York Red Bulls brought to StubHub Center. We'll discuss the hybrid starting lineup that had a bunch of changes no one was really expecting. We'll also discuss the positioning of Ola Kamara, Giovani dos Santos and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. And we'll bring you all the post-game audio that will definitely see some Galaxy players getting fined! And that includes the only place you'll find the audio for Ashley Cole agreeing to pay David Bingham's fines before entering the media scrum! Josh and Kevin will also discuss why VAR is so frustrating and what MLS can do to fix it -- maybe it's time to get rid of it? Plus, maybe VAR isn't the culprit. Maybe it's just poor officiating not utilizing a tool that will make them look bad? The guys will also give you an update on Rolf Fletcher's injury and, just in case you're wondering if it got better, it didn't. Is Sigi Schmid's job in danger? Is Romain Alessandrini jealous that he's not "the man" anymore? And will Giovani dos Santos be headed to Russia? Finally, the guys give you all the latest Galaxy rumors and why one Italian joining the Galaxy might just make a ton of sense! Maybe too much sense! We've got over 100-minutes of Galaxy-talk headed your way, and we can't wait to kick it off! Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

CoG Studios, CA -- The LA Galaxy were in the game against Atlanta United on Saturday night at StubHub Center. And maybe that's why it hurts so much? Because the Galaxy could have easily pulled level with the visitors if only they could have shot the ball! On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back to talk about the loss and really dig to try and put this 2018 Galaxy team into some sort of league perspective. Exactly how good is this team? The guys start by taking a look back at the loss and all the craziness around the Galaxy's starting lineup. With Jonathan dos Santos a late scratch, how did this all conspire to leave a giant hole in the Galaxy's midfield? Plus, Josh and Kevin will look at the difficult schedule and why it's actually some good news that all three of the Galaxy's losses have come to some very, very good teams. And there's no doubt about it, Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid is frustrated with some players. And he's trying to tell us every chance he gets. We'll go over his post-game press conference and let you listen to the frustration and the pointed comments he has for some members of this team. Finally, the guys will answer your calls and questions, and get you thinking ahead to the big match with the New York Red Bull's on Saturday night! It's a packed show and we're glad we can talk some Galaxy with you. Besides, do you think Schmid has done enough to keep his job?! Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory
