House Calls With Doc Love

This week Doc Love makes a House Call with Conner Jones from Fredericksburg, VA. Jones started the year off right with a victory in the Pro Late Model division on night #6 of the World Series of Asphalt Racing at New Smyrna Speedway. Jones won in a Pro Late Model car prepared by Justin Johnson Racing. Doc & Conner will chat about his week at New Smyrna and his racing plans for 2022.

In this episode, Doc Love visits Robert Strmiska, originally from Manreca, CA, now racing out of Lexington, NC. Strmiska is the driver of the #90 MainLine Equipment Mini Stock with the Carolina Mini-Stock Challenge Series. Strmiska, fresh off a great round 1 with the Series at the Dillon Motor Speedway, in January earned the pole (new CMSC Series track record) and raced to a 2nd place finish. Round 2, the Series raced at the Florence Motor Speedway located in Timmonsville, SC. Strmiska started 3ed and ended up in Victory Lane. Robert breaks down his day at the track before parking it in Victory Lane. Strmiska discusses the Series and why he likes it, plus shares what he does for his day job.

In this episode, Doc Love visits with Ross “Boo-Boo” Dalton from Liberty NC to discuss his big Limited Late Model victory during the Ice Breaker at Florence Motor Speedway. Dalton, driver of the #50 Hudson Auto Works, Routh Signs Chevrolet Limited LM & LMSC and is very well known within the racing scene throughout the East Coast. Boo Boo and Doc also chat about his new hotrod and who helped him get his program back and discuss his plans for 2022 that including the newly formed All-Pro Limited Late Model Series created by Steve Zacharias.

In this episode of House Calls, Doc catches up with Josh Berry. Berry stops by to chat about his latest victory in the #8 Tire Pro Late Model Stock Car, the Ice Breaker 125, at Florence Motor Speedway in Timmonsville, SC. For 10+ years now, Berry has raced and helped build JR Motorsports into a powerhouse in Late Model Stock Car racing action on the East Coast. Berry will hand over the reins of the #8 All Things Automotive Chevrolet to Carson Kvapil of Mooresville, NC, in 2022. Berry will represent Jr Motorsports full time in 2022, racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Bubba Pollard from Senoia, Ga, driver of the #26 TM Ranch Super Late Model will connect with Doc to discuss his big victory at Georgia #Speedfest2022, at the Watermelon Capital Speedway located in Cordele, Ga. The stories that circulate the asphalt short track racing scene, that bear Pollard's name, have made him a legendary figure amongst the fans. Pollard's accomplishments and actions on and off the track have certainly warranted such status and that's fine and dandy but before all of that, family comes first. Bubba shares life away from the driver's seat and how the Pollard Family became owners of the Senoia Speedway dirt track.

Checking in with Doc for a second visit will be Steve Zacharias, promoter of the Florence Motor Speedway located in Timmonsville, SC. Doc also will finish up the conversation of Steve's racing journey and how running the Florence Motor Speedway is truly a family affair and share the story about him finishing the season in a Super Truck at Myrtle Beach Speedway, for his friend Terry Evans who tragically lost his life in an accident driving home after leaving Myrtle Beach Speedway. Zacharias will also chat about his new All-Pro Limited Late Model Series plus share info for fans & competitors alike concerning the upcoming February Freeze at Florence, February 4th – 5th.

Preston Peltier, originally from Frazier Park, CA, first raced Super Late Model's in North Carolina but, now he is racing out of Colorado. The scenery may have changed, but the destination is still the same, and that is Victory Lane. Peltier is no stranger to Victory Lane here on the East Coast, winning many races and a National Title with the PASS Super Late Model series in 2010. Even though Peltier now races out of Colorado, he is still up to his winning ways. Peltier talks about his most recent victory in the Chili Willie 150 at the Tuscan Speedway, in the desert of Arizona. Peltier also talks about his time in North Carolina and shares details about his current situation in Colorado.

Doc Love sits down with Bubba & Cale Gail originally from Mobile, AL now racing out of North Carolina, plus long-time friend and Public Relations for the pair, Chris Carter originally from Pascagoula, Mississippi also residing in N North Carolina.Bubba Gale will be soon be inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame also referred to as the Alabama Racing Hall of Fame, located in Talladega, Alabama. Mr. Gale looks back at his early years and tells many stories looking back at the people in his life and the fun he had along with the way racing soapbox derby, go-carts & motorcycles before he ever drove a stock car. When Mr. Gale did strap into a Stock Car, he dominated the short track racing scene in his driving days throughout FL & AL Wining Track Titles at 5 Flags Speedway and Mobile. Mr. Gale changed the game in short track racing as a chassis tuner when he created Galeforce Suspension. Cale Gale was definitely a chip off the ole block to his father cutting his teeth at the track in Mobile AL winning races and track titles in multiple divisions. Gale is so proud of all his father's accomplishments and shares a few stories of his own about racing with his father. The younger Gale quickly rose from short track racing to the top 3 series in NASCAR winning in the Truck Series in 2012 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Cale was an active driver until 2017 when he turned in the steering wheel for a Racing Engineering career. But, is his driving career really over? Chris Carter has a Love & appreciation for the Gales that runs thicker than water and shares some memories as well. Carter along with working for the Gales has been a fixture in the short track scene from Alabama to the coast of NC. Carter has worked at Sunny South Raceway, Grand Bay Al; Deep South Speedway (dirt) Loxely Al and Montgomery Speedway, Montgomery Al. Mr. Gale had a very positive influence on many short trackers to help raise their level of competition and seen those young racers grow into who we see as top drivers today in the racing game with some making it all the way to the top three series in NASCAR. Ty Majeski from Seymour WI connected with Jason & Doc to discuss his incredible victory in the 2nd Annual Charlie Powell Memorial South Carolina 400 at the Florence Motor Speedway located in Timmonsville, SC. Majeski for the 2nd straight year adds this marque LMSC event to his long list of victories in Super LM marque events. Majeski has won the Snow Ball Derby (2020), Governors Cup (3x) and the Rattler (4x) just to name a few. In 2020 & 2021 Majeski also competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on a part-time basis with championship-winning organization, ThorSport Racing.

Racings up's and down's have been fully defined within the past year for Late Model Stock Car and ARCA driver Derrick Lancaster from Christiansburg VA. Derrick suffered a fractured neck in an LMSC crash at Kingsport Speedway (TN) Aug 2020 bounced back in February 2021 to finish a career-high second at Daytona with NASCAR's ARCA Series to being involved in a fiery crash at Talladega in the April 24, 2021, ARCA Series event.Derrick shares with me in great detail about the crash and how it has affected his family as well as an update on his road to recovery following that horrific fiery crash.

Doc Love Makes a House Call with Rev Racing driver, Rajah Caruth originally from Washington DC, now residing on Concord, NC., and a student at Winston-Salem State. Caruth is a third-year participant of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity driver Development Program, driving the No. 6 Sunoco Toyota LMSC & ARCA East Series. For Rajah, a self-proclaimed “City Kid”, the path to victory lane has been different than most young racers today. Rajah didn't grow up around racing at all. In fact, he didn't discover IRacing until just 3 or 4 years ago but don't let that fool ya, Rajah is a lifelong fan of racing and has been a student of the sport soaking it all in from a young age. Rajah's' s raw natural talent and ability have shined thru since day one of walking on the scene of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity Development Program.
