Chenell's first attempt at building an online business was to create a personal finance blog, which was focused on her experience of paying off her student loan debt. It led her to meet people in the personal finance industry and build a network of people that needed help with ads. This is where her two worlds of personal finance and digital marketing came together. In 2017, Chenell left her job to start focusing on her own business. She was always interested in newsletters so in 2022 started a Growth in Reverse, that focuses on understanding how to grow an email list by reverse engineering the growth strategies of successful creators. I'm thrilled to announce a new episode of the podcast featuring Sohaib Albadawee, an aviation engineer turned growth marketer. Sohaib shared his journey from fixing airplanes to becoming head of growth in an organization, to helping startups grow within their customers and products. Sohaib graduated as an aviation engineer and worked in airplane maintenance before burning out and transitioning to marketing He climbed his way to become a head of growth, but the pandemic forced him to lay off his staff. This made him realize that you are never safe in a job, so he knew he had to start doing something else on the side. Sohaib started helping startups grow within their customers and products. His background gave him the ability to break down complex processes and analyze things effectively, skills that have proven invaluable in marketing. Sohaib is currently on the journey to create a personal brand and a one-person business. He plans to employ himself full-time by the end of the year and quit his current job to focus more on himself. We talked about trends that are common in SaaS infrastructure and interesting practices that companies utilize to grow their business.  

On today's episode of What is my Brain? Podcast, I had a chat with Emir Dukic, the CEO of Rabbu. We talked about what it's like to run a platform that helps real estate investors find and operate short-term rentals, and I got to hear interesting stories from his journey. Emir also shared with me his thoughts on the future of short-term rentals, raising venture capital, the difficulties of hiring the right people, Airbnb hotspots in the US, and more.
