Dukes and Bell come back with more thoughts on Spencer Strider's season debut and react to his post game comments as he shared he understands he left some pitches out there in need to be better with his off speed pitches. And while Strider was somewhat critical of his debut, the guys agree his outing was acceptable when you consider the fact he has been out due to injury for some time. They then share thoughts on whether or not the coaching staff needs to be held more accountable for how poorly the team is performing and if the lack of leadership in the clubhouse is an issue as well.

Atlanta Braves vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Pick Prediction by Tony T. Braves at Blue Jays 1PM ET—Spencer Strider to start for Atlanta. Strider missed much of 2024 with Tommy John surgery and makes his 2025 debut. The right-hander in his career has an ERA of 3.47 and WHIP of 1.07. He strikes out 13.5 and surrenders 0.87 home runs per nine innings. Chris Bassitt starts for Toronto. Bassitt in three starts on the year carries an ERA of 0.98 with WHIP of 1.09. The veteran strikes out 28.8% with 4.1% walks. Ground balls sat at 38.8% with no homers allowed.

The assumed 2025 debut of Spencer Strider to the Atlanta Braves rotation is looking like it will happen on Wednesday, and it will be an immediate shot in the arm to this Braves team, but even Cy Young level pitchers require run support. The Braves at least have 5 hitters hitting above .200, and Marcell Ozuna is even hitting .306, but the timeliness of the Braves hitting is something less to be desired. The Braves are the 2nd worse team in MLB with runners in scoring position, and even though there are signs of power of late, they will have to start scoring more runs if they want to dig themselves out of the hole that they have created in the early part of the season. The hitting is coming around, and adding Strider will help, let's just hope that this April hole is not an insurmountable one to climb out of.
