Someone once said, "Gases and Love" can't be contained. You gotta let it out!. One of the most picturesque moment where God's Love is shown is when the Prodigal Father runs to his son cuz Mercy flows from compassion. When our heart is full of compassion we are moved to help the needy, to love the unlovely, to be gracious to the unworthy. Compassion gives us feet. And today, Jesus paints us a picture of God, being so full of compassion for His erring children, that He runs toward us when we make any movement toward Him.

We all have a race to run, a separate course set before us by Jesus Christ . We are not in a race against each other. We are not in competition with each other. The race has been set before each of us according to our own abilities. Since we are in a race, lets run to win!' Key points to remember are: 1. drop the excess baggage 2. avoid the snares of sin that will entrap you 3. keep your eyes fixed on Jesus 4. resist sin (12:4) 5. learn to endure the chastening by God since you are now His children 6. pursue peace with all people 7. pursue Holiness 8. deal with your bitterness the right way 9. watch out for spiritual complacency 10 we need to obey 11. embrace grace 12. let God be God Chastening is not punishment it is God’s way of correcting our race. It is proof of God’s love for us, proof that we are God’s sons and daughters and proof that we are destined for Holiness. Excellent Bible references are located in this weeks Study Guide. Abraham is the father of the faithful and is an example of faith willing. Abraham believed in the Lord and He accounted to him for righteousness. Sarah, his wife, joins the adventure by bearing a child even though she has long passed the age of child bearing. This appointed event occurs to begin the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Is anything to hard for the Lord? Abraham was: 1. Willing to go without knowing where 2. Willing to go without knowing why 3. Willing to believe and trust as he waits God said to Abraham; “You have skirted this mountain long enough, turn northward.” Today, our mountain may not be geographical, but it is a place. What is the place that you have spent too much time in that God is calling you out of? It is time to move in faith willing. You were created for good works. We are citizens of Heaven making our way through this earth as we walk with God through faith in Jesus. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The prophet Enoch’s name means dedicated and as he believed, in faith, it changed him. Nobody accidentally walks with God. It has to be intentional. We need to be going the same way, the same pace and with the same faith. We are all prone to wander and need to yoke back up to Jesus. 5 key points to remember about Enoch are: His name He walked with God for over 300 years He leaves behind a powerful testimony He was taken away before he saw death He pleases God Enoch walked with God during the most wickedest time in human history. The remedy for change is to walk with Jesus. To run our God given race with endurance in the short time we have. How to begin? Start! Just start with one little step every day. Walking by faith pleases God. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. What will be said of your faith? Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us. This message can also be heard on the Church website at ccrsv.org and viewed on YouTube. This study into the book of Hebrews now moves from doctrinal to practical. Key points of this study are: 1. Let us draw near to God 2. Let us hold fast to the hope we have 3. Let us consider one another We are all sinners in desperate need for a Savior. Let us always draw near to Jesus with a true, real and honest heart. So come now, let us reason together. Though our sins are like scarlet He will make them white as snow. Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners, of whom I am chief, said Paul. It is time for us with boldness to draw near, each day moving closer than the day before. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Therefore let us not lose hope because He who promised is faithful. The storms of life will come and we may not agree with His timing but He who promised is faithful. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters." (1 John 3:16)How does love reveal itself? One of the ways our love for someone reveals itself is in our willingness to inconvenience ourselves for the one we love. If I'm not willing to lay down my preferences for someone else, I certainly wouldn't lay down my life for them. But that's exactly how Jesus revealed his love to us. The reality is that His love will always supersede ours. His love isn't tainted by sin and selfishness because of His great love for the Father. Jesus laid down His desires to fulfill the Father's plan and because of His great love for us, God the Son laid down His life paying the debt for our sins and bridging the gap between us and God the Father. Now that His Spirit lives in you, Christ empowers you to love others well. Tap into that love today. He's where the joy is!
Hebrews, the book of faith. In this world we can sometimes see good, but in the perspective of eternity, better is better when we consider Jesus. Closed doors open when we walk in faith. An unbelieving heart is: 1. an evil heart 2. a departing heart 3. a hardened heart 4. a restless heart We can daily make good better by encouraging ourselves and others. Today encourage. Tomorrow encourage. So that our hearts are not hardened by the deceitfulness of sin because first sin courts and then it kills. * Luke 5:19-23 * Luke 10:17-20 Let us not be shaped by how seasons appear around us. Let us be shaped by what God says in His word. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. Who am I can be answered with a question, ‘Who is Jesus to you?’ God wants to meet us now, exactly where we are with all of our baggage and honesty so we can truly be born again. The God of the universe was willing to put Himself into time and space, take the form of man, to walk where we walk, to bring His perfect love to us. We have been paid for with a price, created for a purpose in this world and the world to come. Jesus Christ, is the Captain of our salvation. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord, today, and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. John 3:16.That verse has been called the gospel in a nutshell. In just a few phrases it wraps up what the good news of Christianity is all about. It also answers some of the most important questions people could ever ask. Key Points: 1. What kind of being is God? 2. How do we know God is a God of love? 3. Is there any hope? Pastor Brian Daly continues this study into the book of Exodus with this sub-series titled “Worship Is…” All we can do is appoint, it is God who anoints us. We need to pray that God will anoint everything in our life. The same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us! We are called to be set apart, to be used for God’s glory. Let us give Jesus the building permit of our hearts. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us. Pastor Brian Daly continues this study into the book of Exodus with this sub-series titled ‘Worship Is…’ This chapter is the pinnacle of the book of Exodus. Here are 4 key points: 1. God needs to wash us, baptize us, cleanse us as white as snow. 2. God needs to clothe us in righteousness. 3. God needs to anoint us. 4. God needs to consecrate us. The wages of sin is death. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Christians, we have been born for this time, this season. Let us pick up our cross and follow Him tuning out the noise and distractions of this world. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. There is not a lack of evidence. If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us. Pastor Brian Daly continues this study into the book of Exodus with a sub-series titled ‘Worship is…” Worship: Is anything we do that lifts the name of God and deepens our relationship with Jesus. At the end of our worship, we want to have God’s vision and compassion. No matter what the season, or our prayer, in His perfect way, in His perfect will, we will see Him. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. There is not a lack of evidence. Pastor Brian Daly continues with God’s top 10. The 10 Commandments. We can only do 6 through 10 if we first engage and accept 1 through 4. Loving God and loving people is the vertical and horizontal stance as Christians we must take. 1 Corinthians Chapter 13, Matthew’s recording of the Sermon on the Mount and Proverbs 16:21 are key scripture references that need to be written on the tablet of our hearts. It is the subtle acts of transgressions we view as normal that build our lives on shifting sands instead of on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. There is not a lack of evidence. If you have questions or need someone to talk to, contact us. What comes to mind when you think about standing in the presence of the living God? Does it make you want to hide like Adam and Eve? Run the other way like Jonah? Be overcome by inferiority as Isaiah the prophet who said; “I am a man of unclean lips.” Filled with joy like David? Or fall as if dead like John? If Jesus were sitting with us, today, right now, what changes would we make? Pastor Brian Daly continues this inspiring study from the great book of Exodus with challenging applications to the current world we live in. God has removed the Hebrews out of Egypt and He is now directing Moses to get Egypt out of the Hebrews. The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed. The law does not save, it never has saved, only Jesus can save. Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. There is not a lack of evidence. If you have questions or need someone to talk to, contact us. This message can also be heard on the church website at ccsrv.org and viewed on YouTube. We look at John chapter 3 and its enduring importance in bringing people out of a path to destruction into ultimate salvation. “If we were asked to read to a dying man who did not know the gospel, we should probably select this chapter as the most suitable one for such an occasion; and what is good for dying men is good for us all, for that is what we are; and how soon we may be actually at the gates of death, none of us can tell.” (Spurgeon)

John 3:16 | We were made to live forever. In the beginning, God created man and woman and the intention was total harmony, communion, and fellowship forever. Sin marred that. But God made a way again. So far we have looked at God. We have studied His love for the world. Now, this week we are told how His love for us has made a way for us to have eternal life. What is eternal life? How do we get eternal life? No more important question to answer in our life than this one.

There is such a powerful and pointed statement in John 3:16 that assures us we never have to worry about whether God loves us or not. The Lord has acted in such a way to demonstrate and display His love for the world! It's unequivocally unarguable!! He loves us!

John 3:16 | Before we can understand God's love for the world, His giving of His own Son, His making a way for humanity to not perish... Before we can get to the gold of all of those truths unpacked in John 3:16, we have to start at the very beginning:" For God..."Who is this God? God cannot be limited to an understanding that can adequately be unpacked in a 40-minute sermon. We know that. But He also desires to be known. He has revealed to us who He is through His Word. He wants us to know Him, and He desires us to be known by Him.
John 3:1-22 | Our greatest need isn't a self-help book that will teach us how to "get our life together". Our greatest need isn't a makeover. Our greatest need isn't a motivational speech that will spark our willpower for a time only for it to flame out again. Our greatest need is to be born again! What does it mean to be born again? What happens to us when we are born again? How are we born again? What awaits the one who is born again? We'll unpack all of this. Now, if you think this is a sermon just for non-Christians... no way. These truths may be the most awe-inducing, worship-inspiring, current-Christian-sustaining truths we can tackle.
