This week, Steven and Jeremy talked about the G1 Climax. A few wrestlers were eliminated from contention, but top stars such as Zack Sabre Jr., Konosuke Takeshita, David Finlay, Shingo Takagi and others are still very much alive. This week on Wrestling Tonight, we break down a landmark weekend in pro wrestling. WWE's first-ever two-night SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium featured two massive world title changes, a shocking return from Brock Lesnar, and the naming of The Vision. CM Punk's long-awaited championship win over Gunther was immediately erased by Rollins' Money in the Bank cash-in, while Cody Rhodes closed out Night Two by defeating John Cena… only to watch Lesnar drop Cena with a post-match F5. We recap the full SummerSlam card, including Naomi's crafty title defense, the Wyatt Sicks' chaotic TLC win, a debut performance from Jelly Roll and Rayne Leverkusen's stand out try out. Plus, WWE crowns its first-ever ID Champions, and Triple H joins the U.S. President's Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. Over in AEW, Cody Rhodes speaks candidly about his 2022 departure, saying he felt “disrespected” by the company he helped build. Meanwhile, AEW returns to Chicago for Worlds End 2025, as MJF captures the CMLL Light Heavyweight Championship and sets up a collision course with AEW World Champion Hangman Page. We also update the G1 Climax 35 standings as Yuya Uemura continues his rise, Zack Sabre Jr. surges in B Block, and contenders like Boltin Oleg, Drilla Moloney, and Takeshita shape the race for the semifinals. Plus: – TNA builds toward Emergence with Trick Williams vs. Moose – AEW Tag Title Eliminator Tournament heats up – Vince McMahon cited for reckless driving after a July 24 accident – Weekly preview for RAW, Dynamite, NXT, Impact, and Collision – Upcoming events: Forbidden Door, Clash in Paris, Victory Road, and more

In the spirit of the season, The Eastern Lariat returns with deep dive into the big summer gatherings of pro wrestling in japan – the major tournaments. The show starts out with Dylan's rundown of Stardom's 5Star Grand Prix up until Day 4 and then turns to New Japan Pro Wrestling's G1 Climax 35 that crossed the half way point this past weekend. The big question here is: What's in the cards for which performer? The show of course also offers a series of recommended matches, highlights performers and performances and also questions unwritten rules of pro wrestling in Japan. Deservedly so so, All Japan Pro Wrestling is in the main event spot of this show for their excellent, dramatic and energizing Summer Action Wars from Ota Ward that saw two high-class matches in the World Tag Team Title Match and the Final of the Zennichi Junior Festival and that could steer AJPW in the right direction.
On this episode of the Eastern Lariat podcast, STRIGGA & Dylan dive into a packed puroresu lineup. They kick things off with Pro Wrestling NOAH, where KENTA has taken center stage in a major way for the first time since 2014. Then it's over to All Japan Pro Wrestling for a deep look at the Zennichi Junior Tournament and what it means for the promotion's junior division – is this the best its ever been? From there, STRIGGA & Dylan turn their attention to NJPW's G1 Climax 35. They give a synopsis of the first 7 days of the tournament analyzing each competitor's performance so far, comment on booking decisions, and who might make it to the playoffs with Block B being in complete disarray after Gabe Kidd's injury. Finally, things are wrapped up with high speed review of Stardom's 5STAR Grand Prix opening night. Join in for a full tour of the Japanese wrestling landscape!
A busy week got busier for Steven and Jeremy as the first four nights of the G1 Climax tournament took place, followed by the news of Hulk Hogan's passing. Steven looked back at Hogan's long history with New Japan and how he became the biggest foreign star NJPW ever had. Plus, they also broke down the G1, with Gabe Kidd's injury, YOSHI-HASHI's run, Taichi's connection to fans and Great O-Khan's impressive match quality catching their attention. Also, will Zack Sabre Jr. and Shingo Takagi finally win a match in the ring soon?
Paul Lazenby has a new book, "When We Were Bouncers 2," and he's sharing some of the crazier stories on the Steve Austin Show. He's also talking about the New Japan Pro Wrestling G1 tournament, Kenny Omega, Juice Robinson, and Zack Sabre Jr. Plus, Paul just finished filming the new "Predator" movie and will share what he can from that set along with stories from his days as a movie stunt man, including the films he did as Steve Austin's stunt double! And then Wade Keller joins after the show to break down this week's WWE Monday Night RAW and Smackdown.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This week, STRIGGA & Dylan start the show talking about the new Hayabusa and from there discuss mask gimmicks in modern japanese pro wrestling including Tiger Mask and Mentai Kid. More questions are asked with All Japan Pro Wrestling and their Champion Carnival. Who came out stronger? What about the Saitos and where is it all leading? This brings DRAGONGATE into the conversation as well with Madoka Kikuta turning to Z-Brats, U-T winning the Brave Gate and GOLD CLASS winning the services of Hyo. Finally, the Eastern Lariat team brings up OZAWA vs. Kaito Kiyomiya in Pro Wrestling NOAH that may or may not have an extra stipulation.

After the dastardly Marty Scurll won the 2016 Battle Of Los Angeles, he would face PWG World Champion Zack Sabre Jr. at Mystery Vortex IV. Acefield Retro & Chad are your hosts for Episode 115 of Wrestling Tonight, breaking down an eventful week in pro wrestling that reshaped the landscape across AEW, WWE, and beyond. AEW Revolution delivered a night filled with high-stakes matches, career-defining performances, and major title implications. Jon Moxley retained his AEW World Championship in a hard-fought battle, but the night truly belonged to Toni Storm and Mariah May. Their Falls Count Anywhere match, billed as The Hollywood Ending, lived up to its name—an emotional, brutal, and visually stunning war that left the AEW Women's Division forever changed. Kenny Omega, in only his fourth match back from injury, reclaimed gold in a must-see battle with Konosuke Takeshita, while Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher turned their deeply personal rivalry into an all-time great steel cage match. Swerve Strickland cemented himself as the next World Title challenger after a grueling victory over Ricochet, setting the stage for what could be AEW's next marquee feud. The fallout from Revolution will no doubt define the company's direction in the months ahead. Meanwhile, WWE saw multiple title changes and a dramatic escalation on the road to WrestleMania 41. IYO SKY ended Rhea Ripley's dominant reign to capture the WWE Women's World Championship in a result that stunned fans. LA Knight recaptured the United States Title in a hard-hitting rematch against Shinsuke Nakamura, while Shawn Spears shocked NXT by seizing the North American Championship from Tony D'Angelo, taking advantage of a lingering injury. But the most talked-about moment came at Elimination Chamber, where John Cena's long-teased heel turn became reality. After aligning with The Rock, Cena left Cody Rhodes battered and bloodied in a post-match attack—but it was rapper Travis Scott who delivered the most unexpected blow. A stiff slap to Rhodes ruptured his eardrum, raising questions about whether Cody will be at full strength heading into his WrestleMania 41 title defense. Over on SmackDown, another long-running mystery was finally solved. Jade Cargill made her return and confronted Naomi, revealing her as the one who had attacked her months ago. With the truth finally out, Jade wasted no time in seeking revenge, setting the stage for an intensely personal showdown in the near future. Elsewhere, the WrestleMania 41 build continues to take shape. CM Punk and Seth Rollins are set to collide in a steel cage match, The Rock's presence looms large over the title picture, and AJ Styles is ready to call out Logan Paul in what promises to be a heated confrontation at Madison Square Garden. Beyond WWE and AEW, the wrestling world remains in motion. TNA is making moves with the return of Chavo Guerrero Jr., the exit of Alex Hammerstone, and Eddie & Alisha Edwards committing to long-term deals. Cora Jade is set to challenge Masha Slamovich for the Knockouts Title at Sacrifice, while NJPW's championship landscape continues to evolve with Yuji Nagata stepping into a rare IWGP World Heavyweight Title match. Meanwhile, Zack Sabre Jr. is gearing up for a loaded WrestleMania weekend schedule, making multiple high-profile GCW appearances. And as for Travis Scott—was Elimination Chamber a one-off cameo, or is WWE positioning him for something bigger? His unexpected role in Cody Rhodes' brutal beatdown has sparked speculation that his involvement in WWE may not be over just yet. With AEW's Revolution reshaping the company's landscape, WWE's WrestleMania build reaching new levels of intensity, and TNA and NJPW making key moves, this is a week packed with major developments. Welcome to Wrestling Tonight Episode 113! This week, we're joined by The Turnbuckle Tavern, Acefield Retro, and Chad as we break down the latest in WWE, AEW, and TNA, and preview the upcoming Elimination Chamber 2025 event in Toronto. We start with a detailed preview of the Elimination Chamber, featuring two exciting Chamber matches. The men's bout includes John Cena, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, Damian Priest, and Seth Rollins. The women's match features Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, Bianca Belair, Bayley, Roxanne Perez and Naomi, all aiming for a chance at WrestleMania. Plus, Kevin Owens faces Sami Zayn in an unsanctioned match with deep personal stakes. Moving on to SmackDown, The Rock made a surprising challenge to Cody Rhodes, asking him to be his champion – but with a cryptic twist. The Rock hinted that their storyline might not culminate in a traditional match at WrestleMania after all, and we discuss how this could play out. Shifting gears, we talk about the Shane McMahon recent rumors regarding AEW, where he reportedly asked for equity in the company and expressed interest in running the show. While there's been no follow-up from AEW President Tony Khan, the discussion raises questions about Shane's future in pro wrestling and potential involvement with AEW. TNA is also on our radar this week, as the company announces a two-night event in Irvine, California in May. We discuss the upcoming Impact live show and TV taping, as well as TNA's Unbreakable 2025 special, set to air during WrestleMania week. McKenzie Mitchell returns as the new ring announcer, adding another layer to the excitement. In other WWE news, Seth Rollins has started discussions with the company about a potential backstage role post-retirement. We dive into what this means for Rollins and his long-term future with WWE. Meanwhile, Ricky Starks has rebranded as Ricky Saints in WWE's NXT, and we explore what this new direction means for his career in the company. Finally, we touch on Zack Sabre Jr.'s upcoming return to Game Changer Wrestling, where he'll face Drew Parker and other opponents in two matches next month. And we discuss the signing of Brock Rechsteiner, Scott Steiner's son, who has inked an NIL deal with WWE and is expected to join the company once his college football career is over. Be sure to support the show and join our Patreon for just $2.99 a month for exclusive content! Follow us on social media @turnbuckletavern for all the latest updates.

Wrestling Tonight is back with Episode 112, and it's packed with everything from title changes to legal drama that could change the landscape of wrestling. AEW Grand Slam in Australia delivered some huge moments. Toni Storm reclaimed the AEW Women's World Championship from Mariah May in an emotional match. Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay teamed up to defeat Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher in a hard-hitting tag match, building excitement for what's coming at Revolution. Okada picked up another win, but it's now clear the question is: What's next for him program-wise? Over in WWE, NXT Vengeance Day kept the momentum rolling for the brand. Oba Femi defended his NXT Championship in a chaotic triple-threat match against Austin Theory & Grayson Waller. Giulia successfully retained her NXT Women's Championship, while Stephanie Vaquer took the NXT North American Championship, setting the stage for some exciting rivalries. And a new faction made a big impact, teasing what's next for the brand. In New Japan, Hirooki Goto made history by defeating Zack Sabre Jr. to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Goto's victory is a surprising moment, marking a major shift for NJPW, and all eyes are on how his reign will unfold. Meanwhile, the legal battle surrounding Vince McMahon continues to heat up. A federal appeals court ruled that McMahon's lawyer wrongly withheld documents related to hush money payments that were concealed from WWE's auditors. While McMahon's team claims that the Department of Justice's criminal investigation is over with no charges expected, his legal troubles aren't done. Civil lawsuits are still piling up, including new allegations from Janel Grant. And while Vince's legal drama intensifies, Linda McMahon faced tough questioning during her confirmation hearing for Secretary of Education. She was pressed on how she would uphold integrity while her controversial past, including the ring boy scandal, looms large. Her answers could have major implications moving forward. We also dive into potential WWE Hall of Fame inductees, updates on TNA, and early talk about what's shaping up for WrestleMania 41. Let us know what caught your attention this week!
