AJ and Rhys have reunited to go through the Origin teams, we go through the controversial Terrell May omission and the big bolters picked by the QLD Maroons and NSW Blues. We then change tact to the Women's Origin and debate Ali Brigginshaw's future as a QLD Maroon. Plus, we make a mockery of Brad Donald's decision to omit Olivia Kernick after she singlehandedly destroyed the QLD pack. Onto the NRL games, Parramatta were way too strong forNewcastle as once we again we hold Adam O'Brien accountable for his horriblestate of Newcastle's attack while Zac Lomax gets praised universally. The Roosters rue many mistakes in their loss to the Dogs, while we praise the unsung Bulldogs heroes that got them home. Super Saturday saw a scrappy Warriors win over the Dolphins after Peter Gough made the howler of season 2025. Manly found their groove despite Turbo playing broken and Jurbo being KO'ed. Manly's pack gets them home despite the Cowboys mixing their halves combination with little success. Then the Sharks and Storm play the game of the year in season 2025.Sunday's matches are recapped quickly as the Dragons takeadvantage of a poor Broncos side as Rhys launches into a tirade. Canberra proved too strong for a poor Titans side while Keaon and Terrell showed their stuff for really no reason as NSW didn't pick them.
Game 2 of Women's State of Origin kicks off tomorrow night, with the New South Wales Blues aiming to secure the series. However, Queensland will put up a fight. Millie Elliot told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports, "It was only the first game for the year, so they'll come out a different side and yeah, you can't give them too much room and too much time because we know what they're capable of and we know what Queensland are capable of as well." "So, no complacency headed in. I'm sure the New South Wales Blues know that they felt that last year and players like Ali Brigginshaw and Taryn Aiken in the halves can't give them too much," Elliot continued. Women’s State of Origin kicks off this Thursday night in front of 25,000 at Suncorp Stadium. Queensland will be attempting to retain the shield after making history with victory in the first-ever three-match series. Queensland Captain Ali Brigginshaw told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "We definitely can do it again." "After last year's win, it's really instilled some confidence within the group." "I guess we are missing a couple, but we've also got six debutantes, which is very exciting," Ms Brigginshaw said.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It's one of the highlights of the NRL season and for Rooster Blake Steep (24:05) the Anzac Day clash against the Dragons didn't disappoint. He told Andrew Moore, Luke Lewis, Michael Carayannis and his Eastern Suburbs team mate Connor Watson that he'd never seen the ground so full. He also shared the incredible story of saving his Dad's life while out spear fishing earlier this year. Queensland Women's Origin legend Ali Brigginshaw (2:24:41) jumped on to talk about preparations for this week's 1st Origin match. And another Maroons legend Trevor "The Axe" Gillmeister (1:26:03) gives his recollections on the great 1995 series. The voice of British Super League Stuart Pyke (2:09:33) explains the latest on the mooted NRL takeover of the competition and with news (and speculation) from closer to home there's MC's Hammertime (50:24).

Queensland will travel to Newcastle for Game 2 of the Women's State of Origin expecting plenty of hostility from the sold out crowd. But Second Rower Romy Teitzel told Andrew Moore that she's hoping her Maroons team mate and Knights full back Tamika Upton will win a few local fans over playing at her club ground. Before Tallisha Harden represented Australia in three sports, she was a self-confessed book nerd who played in the school brass band and was better at ten pin bowling than ball sports. Growing up, Tallisha suffered from chronic middle ear infections which meant she stayed on the sidelines of most sports. But she was tall, so when a teacher picked her out to join the local volleyball team, Tallisha said yes, unknowingly starting her career in sport. Tallisha represented Australia in volleyball and Rugby 7's before switching to rugby league where she's at the top of her game as a Jillaroo and Brisbane Bronco in the NRLW. Tallisha joins host Sam Squiers to discuss growing up in Woodridge in Brisbane's Logan area, how she educated herself about her Indigenous culture, her passion for speech pathology and what she wants the future to look like for the NRLW. There's a moment Ali Brigginshaw experienced as an 11-year-old that continues to motivate her even two decades on. Ali Brigginshaw is one of Australia's most talented athletes — and I don't mean 'just' for a girl! As a rugby league player in the Australian Jillaroos, she led them to World Cup glory twice and was even named 'Woman of the Match' in 2017. Now, she plays on a state level with the Brisbane Broncos and spends much of her time mentoring young women in her community. Alongside Em Rusciano and Flex Mami, she's also one of three Mrs Claus flipping the narrative on gender roles as part of the Body Shop's game-changing campaign. I loved chatting to Ali about what the training schedule of an athlete *really* looks like, why she's only just recently started using a calendar, why giving back is such an important part of her daily life and so much more. In this week's Pearl's Preview Pod former Broncos centre Steve Renouf predicts the Roosters will ambush the Raiders in attack and defence in the NRL grand final with returning prop Jared Waerea-Hargrveaves to play a key role.Renouf said he was expecting Waerea-Hargreaves to target Raiders second-rower John Bateman and “take him out” with a massive old school hit.“I expect it to be legal though,” Renouf chuckled.Renouf has tipped the Roosters to win by 12 and to have too much strike and big game experience across the park.He also outlines why Burleigh will beat Newtown in the NRL State Championship final and says Broncos captain Ali Brigginshaw will be lifting the Holden Women's Premiership trophy after the NRLW showdown with the Dragons.
