This week Nicola and Di chat with the hilarious and fun Claudia Bursill aka Miss Double Bay. Miss Double Bay is Claudia's alter ego and she's best known for her take on the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and influencer culture and her razor sharp memes and deadpan humour. She's the queen of satire and is also the co-host of the popular podcast, Certified Yappers, with her friend Roj.  In this chat we hear the funny story of how Miss Double Bay started, when a mouldy avocados review that Claudia did as part of a university assignment went viral and earned her the nickname, Miss Double Bay. Claudia talks about how she started the instagram account a couple of years later and it began to really gain popularity during covid. Initially the account was completely anonymous and nobody knew who Miss Double Bay was, but after a couple of years, as things were really taking off, she decided to come clean and reveal who she was.  We have a good laugh about the latest trends in this episode. From personalised dog harnesses, to what's happening on the dating scene with run clubs, and communal ice bath sessions - Aussie culture at its finest. Claudia also tells us about her other Instagram account where women submit the cringe worthy things they see and hear on the dating app Hinge - she shares a few voice notes with us in the studio, which we hope you'll find as funny as we did.  We also talk about our philosophies on life - having a good laugh, not taking things too seriously, treating people kindly, having positive energy, an attitude of gratitude and a focus on fun! This conversation made us laugh so hard and we hope you enjoy listening to the silliness.  Follow Miss Double Bay on IG here Follow Hinge Boiz on IG here Listen to Claudia's podcast - Certified Yappers - here Buy your own Miss Double Bay Water Bottle here Follow Nicola and Di on IG hereSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ever wondered why the Northern Beaches seem to resonate with a laid-back vibe while the Eastern Suburbs exude a more upscale flair? Our latest podcast, "Suburb Wars," takes you through the heart of this Sydney rivalry, with me, your host, drawing from my own experiences of living on both sides of the bridge. As we dissect the cultural and social fabric that weaves these communities together, you'll get an insider's perspective on the factors that influence everything from property desirability to the quality of education and local social scenes. This candid conversation promises to demystify the loyalties residents have towards their neighborhoods, and we'll even touch on how these affect day-to-day practicalities like transport and affordability. Now, let's talk dollars and sense as we assess the real estate playing field. Imagine having the inside track on the value and performance of beachfront properties across Sydney's most desired coastal strips. That's exactly what we're bringing to the table. We take a magnifying glass to the market, scrutinizing the comparative worth of an exquisite property we're featuring on the Northern Beaches against its Eastern counterparts. This chapter isn't just about the numbers, though; it's a narrative of lifestyle, investment, and the subtle prestige associated with a postcode. Join us as we navigate these waters, where the vistas are as intriguing as the market trends, and discover whether it's the sun-soaked beaches of the North or the chic allure of the East that truly captures the essence of luxury living in Sydney.

Not until it was found to be murder. This was Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross, once a hub of inequity, of strip joints and gentleman's clubs, of licensed premises and restaurants. But now, the area is changing, going upmarket, another enclave for those that can afford it, not a place for the homeless, nor is it a place of murder, but then, another murder in Point Piper, upmarket and exclusive, a woman, her throat cut.Detective Gary Haddock's a seasoned hand in Homicide, but he's baffled by the murders. Statistically, Sydney's Eastern Suburbs rarely has a murder, but after four, are they serial or random, and if they are, why?Sergeant Natalie Campbell from Kings Cross Police Station is wet behind the ears when she pairs with Haddock, but she soon learns that she is more astute than the man, although she's a risk taker. He has to protect her, but she will take the investigations forward.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/houseofmysteryradio. Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/houseofmysteryradio. This week we welcome big wave shredder, Professional Hydrologist and juggler of 3 boys Jeremy Wilmotte onto the Podcast. The Aussie crew started churning out the downwind content a little while ago, and while all the boys put up some awesome footage it was Jeremy's humour within the downwind discipline that caught our eyes and ears. This meant we were always eager to see his next video and commentary on how difficult a discipline it is and watch his progression. We reached out on instagram, gave him some shit and the rest is history. A great chat with an incredibly interesting bloke - we delved into everything from his day job keeping human shit out of Australia's waterways, to his background as an ex pro surf photographer and finally riding BOMBS on his foilboards. Among these things we also discuss: how he juggles a family life his downwind career so far and why it appeals thoughts on being a waterman as opposed to just a 'shortboarder' the stigma he's faced as a foiler in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and the bans that surround the area. the R&D process with AXIS Mast Stiffness and its importance (or not?) probably a load of other stuff i can't remember Enjoy this one, we did! give us a like, subscribe, follow or whatever it is you need to, to make us look awesome to outsiders. give us an email and message on insta/facebook if theres something on your mind!
