Non supera il mezzo centimetro di lunghezza ma sta mettendo in allarme chi si occupa di laghi nel nostro Paese, a tal punto che diversi Cantoni hanno già predisposto un piano d'azione ad hoc. Un'emergenza che ha un nome: cozza quagga. Una specie aliena invasiva sempre più presente nei laghi svizzeri, come rilevato da uno studio dell'Istituto federale per la ricerca delle acque. Una presenza che non solo mette a rischio la biodiversità dei bacini in cui riesce a insediarsi ma che si attacca anche a barche e strutture, per esempio le tubature di un acquedotto a lago. Originaria del mar Caspio e del mar Nero, la cozza quagga si sposta soprattutto aggrappandosi allo scafo di navi e barche, e ha una caratteristica da non sottovalutare: è estremamente resiliente. Una volta insediatasi su un fondale o lungo un'infrastruttura, è molto difficile riuscire a liberarsene. Cosa succede dunque nei nostri laghi? Come difendersi da questo piccolo mitile? E come riuscire a collaborare con le autorità dei Paesi che ci circondano, visto che le sponde di parecchi nostri laghi non sono solo svizzere? Laura Basile nel Buena Onda di giovedì 14 dicembre ha avuto come ospite la scrittrice Giorgia Cozza e insieme hanno commentato la notizia della maestra che ha rivelato in modo un po' brutale il segreto di Babbo Natale, qualche settimana fa in classe ai suoi alunni. «Non mi è piaciuta - ha affermato Cozza -, è stato un brutto gesto, poco rispettoso nei confronti delle famigli e delle tradizioni scelte per festeggiare il Natale con i bambini. Non si dovrebbe interferire in queste situazioni». Ognuno poi deve essere libero di decidere come vivere il Natale e le sue usanze, ogni famiglia gestirà la situazione come meglio crede e soprattutto, le reazioni e le emozioni dei propri figli.

Mercoledì 29 novembre Giorgia Cozza è stata ospite di Laura Basile e Giangiacomo Secchi. Nel Buena Onda si parla di preparativi e di regali di Natale. La proposta di oggi è la cesta dei libri, che non è proprio un calendario, ma un modo per scandire l'attesa con i bambini. «Prendiamo una scatola a tema natalizio, ci mettiamo tutti i libri, racconti e fiabe natalizi. Se non li abbiamo in casa, basta cercarli in biblioteca - ha iniziato Giorgia Cozza - poi ogni giorno si legge qualcosa di diverso, aspettando il Natale».

Martedì 7 novembre Laura Basile e Giangiacomo Secchi hanno parlato di dati con Giorgia Cozza, che nel Buena Onda ha presentato i risultati preoccupanti dell'indagine che ha coinvolto più di 2600 famiglie: «Dagli 0 ai 4 anni, il 36% dei bambini rinuncia alla favola della buonanotte per utilizzare dispositivi tecnologici e - ha continuato Giorgia Cozza - il 41% dei genitori usa i dispostivi tecnologici per calmare i bambini». I bambini non sono più in grado di gestire le proprie emozioni e il rischio di non saperle gestire durante l'adolescenza è molto alto.

Nel Buena Onda di martedì 31 ottobre, con i nostri Laura Basile e Giangiacomo Secchi, è tornata ospite Giorgia Cozza, specialista di famiglia, giornalista e mamma. Con lei abbiamo parlato di memoria prospettica e del perché influisce nelle aspettative che i genitori hanno rispetto ai propri figli quando danno indicazioni, anche di ordine pratico: «È la memoria che ci permette di ricordare non quello che è successo, ma l'azione che deve ancora compiersi. Noi adulti la sfruttiamo spesso, ma i bambini non ce l'hanno. Si sviluppa nel corso degli anni e arriva a maturazione solo alla fine dell'adolescenza». Giorgia ci ha spiegato che «a volte trattiamo i bambini come se fossero piccoli adulti, ma il loro cervello e le loro competenze si stanno sviluppando». Per questo motivo, i genitori non dovrebbero arrabbiarsi con i propri figli, se non badano o si scordano le indicazioni che ricevono.

He retired from the U.S. Army in 2006 after 25 years of military service. Dr. Cozza's professional interests have been in the areas of clinical and community response to trauma in both military and civilian communities, including the impact of deployment and combat injury, illness and death on military service members, their families and their children. Dr. Cozza has highlighted the impact of deployment, injury, illness and death on the children and families of military service members. He has also examined the risk for prolonged grief disorder, a unique grief-related clinical condition, in families affected by sudden and violent deaths, including those bereaved due to combat, suicide, homicide, accident, and terrorism. He is published in the scientific literature and has presented on these topics at multiple national and international scientific meetings. Dr. Cozza serves as a scientific advisor to several national organizations that focus on the needs of military children and families.   Christin M. Ogle, Ph.D. is a Research Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences' Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). Dr. Ogle's research examines the impact of traumatic events and trauma-related psychopathology on health and development across the lifespan. Dr. Ogle received undergraduate training at Reed College (Portland, Oregon); doctoral training in Developmental Psychology at the University of California, Davis; and post-doctoral training at Duke University Medical Center's Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development as well as Duke University's Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. Prior to her position at CSTS, Dr. Ogle served as the American Psychological Association's Executive Branch Science Fellow at the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), Department of Justice where she provided subject-matter expertise and programmatic support for NIJ's research portfolios on children's exposure to violence and violence against women. Dr. Ogle currently holds leadership positions within the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
