He has garnered over 400,000 streams and was featured on Apple Music's Editorial Playlist, “Brown Sugar." Taking inspiration from Childish Gambino's “Redbone", niko! taps into a sultry and raw side of R&B that's filled with lo-fi synths and off-beat drums, which help deliver an experimental indie aesthetic. In April, he dropped the electric throwback jam In My Life and followed it up in May with Malcolm X Park. An east coast boy through and through, he hails from Connecticut but is currently based in Washington, DC. Ben's music reflects his eclectic tastes, but typically features a unique mix of contemporary alternative R&B and older soul sounds. What will 2023 hold for this new artist? We had the pleasure of interviewing Danny Dwyer over Zoom video!Hailing from St. Louis, MO, Danny is an LA-based singer/songwriter & producer whose genreless music straddles indie rock, alternative, pop, and everything in between. He grew up learning jazz and playing in punk bands which eventually led him to college in Los Angeles where he studied music and started working on his solo artist project.Following a break-up in 2017, Danny turned to writing as he released his first song ‘What You Want' as part of a school assignment. Mixing contemporary R&B with his love of indie music, the song's early success inspired him to pursue his solo artist project. A genre chameleon, Danny seamlessly straddles different musical styles and sounds, bringing in diverse musical influences from his childhood and development. Recent collaborators include Benny Sings, Billy Lemos, Roy Blair, Ritt Momney, Magdalena Bay, RAC, Maria Isabel, Kllo, Maude Latour, Chloe Lilac, MILK, Marcos G, Jelani Aryeh, Brandon Banks and more.Danny's music has been featured in playlists such as Spotify's Lorem, Mellow Morning, Mellow Mood, Fresh Finds and Alternative R&B and Apple's INDIY, Day One and more. Danny has also received press from outlets such as Pigeons & Planes, OnesToWatch and Office amongst others. Mortal Kombat” is the fifth single off the anti-pop artist and producer's upcoming debut double EP, Losers, an emotional portrayal of liberated youth. The EP is a love letter and a goodbye note to his rural stomping grounds of the Midwest. “I used to feel the need to exploit as much as possible from any opportunity,” Danny says of the way LA twisted him. “Now I want to work on my bike and make sense of where I come from and where I am. All of these things I've compartmentalized for so long are now colliding.” The result is a collection of coming-of-age songs that have one foot in Friday Night Lights and another in Harmony Korine's Kids. This week we are Kush Chatting with Redray Frazier Dubbed “The Rock & Soul Troubadour,” signed to Greystone Music Group with the debut of his new single “Better Man,” followed by an exciting forthcoming catalogue of live and recorded music. A native New Yorker, who was raised in an exceedingly musical family, Redray is an established vocalist and musician who creates his own unique fusion of Alternative R&B, Rock, and Indie-Soul. Get ready for captivating new lyrical sounds and smooth, smoky vocals like you’ve never heard. Lyrically, Redray meditates on love’s pathos and euphoria, achieving spiritual balance, and reinterpreting social minefields. The singer’s vocals hypnotize while his lyrics dig deep into cultural territories such as the higher vibration of self-betterment. A true artist, not just in the musical sense, he is also an entrepreneur and community activist, as well as pursuing several other creative passions. The new single “Better Man” was recorded with highly accomplished musician and producer Paul Frazier, with additional guitar by Marlon Graves, and drum programming by Redray, Paul, and Steve Williams. “The recording dynamics were congruent and seamless. It felt like we were in complete synchronicity. I don’t write love songs,” said REDRAY. “ This song, in particular, is about owning your stuff.” There is also an accompanying video shot in New York City by innovative videographer Marcus Bleecker, featuring the radiant and very talented India. Currently based in Portland, Oregon, REDRAY’s musical journey began by singing Gospel music in his father’s Baptist church choir in New Jersey. His evolution has taken him from opening for such noted artists as Lenny Kravitz and Blues Traveler to touring with The Talking Heads front man, David Byrne, from 2008-2010. “The totality of those experiences have helped to shape the manner in which I approach my work, and the dedication that is required to achieve my goals,” said Redray. “Those are to be the best that I can be.” --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/keon-torres7/support

The Charlotte, North Carolina self-taught producer, musician and singer-songwriter, known as Will Wildfire, exemplifies the new age of Alternative R&B with his distinguished guitar riffs and bad boy charm. NOISEY proclaimed him as “North Carolina’s (and possibly one of the world’s), next great soul-rock bad boy.” Before winning the Urban accolade at the Charlotte Music Awards in 2014, Will Wildfire, developed a liking towards R&B and Rock n Roll legends at a young age. Born Will Hoggard discovered who he wanted to be as an artist and what he could convey to the world. In high school he tapped into his talent, joined a band and started performing at local venues. With influences from Jimi Hendrix, Kanye West and Aaliyah he garnered a big following on social media during his college years at UNC -- Chapel Hill. Through his grassroots success he received an ample amount of attention that opened opportunities to perform at American Idol Alum, Anoop Desai on his Xbox campus tour and his YouTube channel continues to grow. He exceeds the indie expectations as you can hear him on the airwaves of Raleigh K97.5, performing alongside major acts B.O.B and Tory Lanez, collaborations with new artists including DJ Khaled’s signee Steph LeCor and invites to numerous festivals like SXSW. http://www.spateradio.com
