Obsessed with survivalism and torture, they built a hidden bunker in Wilseyville, California, where they abducted, raped, and murdered victims, often entire families. Their depravity was documented on chilling video tapes, many of which were destroyed by Lake's ex-wife, who was granted immunity. Leonard Thomas Lake (October 29, 1945 – June 6, 1985), also known as Leonard Hill and a variety of other aliases, was an American serial killer. During the mid-1980s, he and his accomplice, British Hong Kong born Charle NG, raped, tortured and murdered an estimated eleven to twenty-five victims at a remote cabin near Wilseyville, California, in the Sierra Nevada foothills, located 150 miles east of San Francisco. After his 1985 arrest on unrelated charges, Lake swallowed cyanide pills that he had sewn into his clothing and died four days later. Human remains, videotapes, and journals found at Lake's cabin later confirmed Ng's involvement and were used to convict Ng on eleven counts of capital murder.

Make sure to like, subscribe, and tune in each day.On June 2, 1985, the Southern San Francisco police department received a report of a shoplifting incident. A man calmly exited a store with a tool called a vice, placed it in the trunk of a beige 1980 Honda Prelude, and vanished before apprehension could occur. Officer Daniel Wright reported to the South City Lumberyard. Inside the car was a man who presented a driver's license identifying him as Robin Stapley. One issue: the license photo did not match the man sitting in front of them. License plates on the vehicle indicated that it was registered to an individual named Lonnie Bond, and the car was listed as a Buick. Growing suspicious, officers got into the trunk and discovered the vice that had been reported as stolen. Also inside the trunk is a .22-caliber revolver fitted with a silencer. The unknown man was taken into the station, where he adamantly denied any involvement in any wrongdoing. At ten years old, Cheryl Gyant learned she was adopted, thus beginning her search for answers about her biological mother. After years of asking questions about her mother's identity, Cheryl received the shocking and devastating news that her mother was Sheri Okoro. Sheri had become one of the first victims of Leonard Lake and Charles Ng, two of California's most notorious serial killers.
