we are joined today by the beautiful and inspiring liv wickedly who is a know your power favorite!! in today's episode we're diving deep into the topic of toxic femininity and the complex layers of femininity. we share personal stories about the moments we realized we were wearing a mask to survive, to fit in, or to feel accepted. these masks often show up as perfectionism, people-pleasing, or staying small to make others comfortable. we also explore why these behaviors are so often rewarded or romanticized in women and how that impacts our sense of self. this episode is an invitation to reflect, unlearn, and reconnect with the version of you that feels most true and powerful!!⭐️ SHOW NOTES ⭐️Liv's podcast: https://www.instagram.com/babe.philosophy/Liv's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livwickedly/Liv's Cohost: https://www.instagram.com/meliwolf/and follow: https://www.instagram.com/lucilampe/••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

The Oscars were last night and the performances were unbelievable. Anora stole the show with multiple award wins including Best Actress and Best Film. People were not happy that Ariana didn't win for Best Supporting Actress which I agree with. In business news, Joann Fabric is closing all 800 of their stores after not being able to find a buyer. Blue Origin ( Jeff Bezos' space company) is launching an all female crew which includes Katy Perry and Gayle King. Benson Boone and Katy Perry both have songs that entered the Billions Club on Spotify. Antoni from Queer Eye has a new show on National Geographic where he takes celebrities to their origin countries and shows them cuisine from their heritage. Nicole Kidman has a new thriller movie coming out on Prime called Holland. Gaga's album comes out on Friday and apparently we have been missing something that has been right in front of our eyes this whole time, Miss Mayhem. We got a first look at Shrek 5 and it looks awful. Trisha Paytas has been rumored to be in the newest season of Euphoria. There's a reboot of A Walk To Remember in the works. And lastly Tate McRae's new album, So Close To What?, reached #1 on Billboard. Thanks for listening!

The boys from last week run it back again with Sen still MIA, probably pleading with US officials not to ban Tik Tok. In any case, Ro kicks us off with a baffling tale of watching Wicked in cinemas and a potential administration error on his end. He then even more concerningly admits to not knowing Wicked is a musical. Kush then tells a yarn of some cat like PDA, Mig's saw a bloke wearing a gaming headset out and about before he laments the fact we're all getting old and we don't know what skibidi means. We're back with a TCB vs listener edition of 'Bullslut'. Summary In this episode, Liv discusses the challenges of navigating tough times, sharing her personal experiences with grief, loss, and collective pain. She emphasizes the importance of maintaining hope and dignity, drawing inspiration from Viktor Frankl's philosophy on finding meaning in suffering. Liv encourages listeners to focus on their inner strength and perspective, reminding them that they have the power to shape their experiences even in the face of adversity. Takeaways Times are tough, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. Grief can be a long and difficult process. Viktor Frankl's teachings on hope and dignity are powerful. We can find meaning in our suffering. It's important to focus on what we can control. Empowerment comes from our perspective on challenges. We all have an indomitable spirit within us. Finding light in dark times is essential. We should nurture our strengths during tough times. Engaging with art and loved ones can be healing. Sound Bites "I've been in grief all year." In possibly our favorite episode yet, Suha and Aidan dive into the cinematic magic of Wicked: Part One, the highly anticipated adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical. They break down the film's vibrant characters, from Cynthia Erivo's fierce and justice-driven Elphaba to Ariana Grande's hilariously preppy Glinda. The duo discusses standout performances, including Michelle Yeoh's Madame Morrible and Bowen Yang's scene-stealing role as Glinda's loyal sidekick. From emotional highlights like Defying Gravity to the nostalgic nods featuring original Broadway stars Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, Suha and Aidan explore how the movie pays homage to its roots while carving its own dazzling path. They share their favorite moments, songs, and critiques (yes, the runtime is a topic!). Whether you're a Wicked superfan or new to Oz's backstory, this episode is a must-listen for all things green and glorious. __ Hosted by: Suha Musa & Aidan Taylor Producer: Shei Yu | Content Writers: Suha Musa & Aidan Taylor I Editorial Review: Saadia Khan I Sound Designer & Editor: Lou Raskin I Immigrantly Theme Music: Simon Hutchinson | Other Music: Epidemic Sound | Cover art design: Josephine Chai | Executive Producer: Saadia Khan Please share the love and leave us a review on Apple Podcasts & Spotify to help more people find us! The Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch Glinda are finally getting their big screen moment thanks to “Wicked”, John M. Chu's adaptation of the Broadway hit. Film critic Emma Jones tells us why this fantastical Wizard of Oz origin story of sorts left her pleasantly surprised and thoroughly entertained. We check out the star-packed thriller “Conclave”, and learn why Ralph Fiennes could clean up come awards season thanks to his performance in this stylish tale of Papal intrigue. French feature “And their Children after them” revisits the socio-realism of the award-winning novel of the same name, and we learn more about Levan Akin's fascinating take on Istanbul's trans community in “Crossing”.
What is this feeling so sudden and new? Yes, Beth, Ruchira and Oenone saw Wicked and they're not afraid to report back. Welcome to a very special, very magical (and very juicy) Wicked episode. Listen to find out their review of the year's biggest blockbuster. There were lots of tears... from Cynthia and Ariana. How did the rollout for Wicked turn out so unhinged? Is this an example of theatre kid behaviour and unrestrained earnestness, or something darker? Also, could this set the new bar for what movie marketing looks like from now on? Say what you want but every minute of Wicked's BTS has gone viral. Thanks for listening to this week's episode. We especially adore those who tune in for our bonus eps, follow and rate us five stars. Jerry & Amanda's Halloween episode from 2023.
Send us a textWhat happens when breakfast classics clash in a Halloween-themed debate? Picture this: pancakes vs. waffles, with JJ Phillips and Jordan DeMarco singing praises of pancake nostalgia, while Rusty Bliss, Brandon Wiley, and Matt "Lando" Landowski argue for waffle superiority with an arsenal of toppings. And just when you think breakfast wars are over, we switch gears to a muscle showdown between two Hollywood heavyweights: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Mark Wahlberg. With most of our panel gushing over The Rock's physique, Rusty Bliss stands firm with Team Wahlberg, offering a fun twist to the discussion.Once we've settled the breakfast and bicep debates, it's off to the land of spooky delights. Everyone agrees Halloween parties deserve more love, transcending age barriers with their festive magic. But who would win in a battle of horror icons? Our crew unanimously crowns Michael Myers as the ultimate champion, thanks to his relentless and creepy pursuits. A trip down memory lane follows, filled with sweet (and sometimes cringeworthy) trick-or-treating tales, and the controversial reputation of candy corn – a treat that might just attract more side-eyes than screams. Finally, we conjure up the thrill of haunted films with whispers of a "13 Ghosts" spin-off, daring adventures to eerie places, and a collective gasp over a creepy night at Moundsville Penitentiary. We wrap our Halloween gathering with a spirited ranking of must-watch horror classics, from "The Shining" to "Halloween." Packed with humor and nostalgia, this episode is a wickedly fun ride through the enchanting and eerie wStupid Should Hurt Link to my Merch store the Stupid Should Hurt Line!Reaper Apparel Reaper Apparel Co was built for those who refuse to die slowly!
