Our heavenly Father is the ultimate source of every good thing in our lives—and that alone should be reason enough to give thanks. However, when you read through the Bible, you discover that there are 68 times when the phrase “give thanks” appears. This exhortation to being intentionally thankful is what Bill Crowder wants the Discover the Word group to explore this week. Join Bill as he leads Mart DeHaan, Elisa Morgan, and Daniel Ryan Day to some of the instances where we're encouraged to Give Thanks this week. WAYS TO LISTEN & SUBSCRIBE:

Bill Crowder

One of the debated areas of biblical theology has to do with what we could call “atonement theory.” In other words, how did Jesus' death on the cross accomplish our salvation. This is not a debate about “if” his death accomplished it, but “how.” That's all well and good, but our intent this Easter season is to focus on the fact of our forgiveness being made possible on the cross—not the way that forgiveness operated. Bill Crowder leads the conversations with Elisa Morgan, Mart DeHaan, and Rasool Berry about "Forgiveness, the Story of Easter." WAYS TO LISTEN & SUBSCRIBE:

Does life seem way more complex and complicated than it ever used to be? Well, it's not just you--the world has become more complex. Just think back to 1980 and begin to list off all the things that have changed since then. Well, in complex times like these, it can be helpful to remember that many of God's children in the Bible found themselves in culturally complex times. And during this episode of Discover the Word, Rasool Berry leads Elisa Morgan, Bill Crowder, and Daniel Ryan Day in examining one of those people. Her name is Esther, and her story is full of complex situations. Some that still baffle Bible interpreters. Gain insight into how to navigate our complex situations by exploring Esther's story with the Discover the Word group. LOOKING FOR MORE EPISODES of the Discover the Word Podcast?

Nessa dor, entra a presença e o cuidado do nosso Pai celeste.

Following Christ gives us a hope that is both present and future. Paul said, “If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied” (1 Corinthians 15:19). This present/future hope—rooted in Jesus’s resurrection—reminds us that whether today is good or bad, we have confidence in Him for a better day to come. ~Bill Crowder
