Send us a textLou has been mentioned by Kurt Dabb a few times. Nothing brings you closer to peace than being choked out by your Brazilian Jui Jitsu brothers and sisters! He's a Navy Veteran who came to know many of the first responder community through BJJ. He felt a tugging on his heart to take it a step further and start to work on hearts and minds and well as the physical fitness aspect. This led him to create a group where vets and first responders could decompress, share the tough parts of their jobs amongst friends and mix in a little Faith to help strengthen the members as well.On this journey, I've discussed many resources and paths to thrive beyond our experiences, not just survive. It's one of the greatest honors of producing this show and speaking with so many wonderful folks...Give Lou the warmest welcome!Come see me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/choir.practice.94 or on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/cp_sfaf/

Welcome Jon and Taylor! They will be shooting the majority of the content for this series, other than what Emily will get on her own. She is so excited to share her plans for the next 12 weeks with you all. Emily is diving into something new and she is ready to take it head on and see what happens when she gives it 100% for the next 3 months. As a beginner in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, she will be training weekly and taking us along for the journey. This is so different for her than a regular prep for a competition because she's so new to this and is truly starting as a beginner. She knew she wanted to do something different, outside of her comfort zone and this was something she's wanted to do for some time now. Listen to her explain her goals and hear how Taylor and Jon feel about being a part of this awesome journey. She also talks briefly with her current assistant Jess and her old assistant from California, Meagan who is visiting for a little bit, and gets their take on the new series. The whole group, along with others, will be joining her for the next 3 months with their own versions of Evolving. Emily wants to invite and encourage each of you to choose something to start doing or learning alongside with her these next 12 weeks. It can be anything you want! Please share it with the show, DM the podcast's Instagram or Emily's Instagram and let us know what you're doing. We are so excited to have both Jon and Taylor as part of the team and we can't wait to share everything with you! In today's episode, Emily has some special guests in the house. She is talking with her videographers/photographers for her newest Evolve series she will be doing for personal YouTube channel. Leon Kuperman comes from an immigrant family, who migrated to North America in the late 70's. He was born in a city that is not part of the Ukraine, but grew up in Canada. So he was brought up in western society, but closely observed his parents and their immigrant background, grinding as entrepreneurs throughout Leon's life. He's a brown belt in Brazilian Jui Jitsu, and has been training for over 15 years. This consumes a lot of his time outside of tech. Funny enough though, when he was living in Seattle, he was a part of a group of people from Oracle, Amazon, Microsoft, etc., who all did martial arts. He finds that there is a correlation between Jui Jitsu specifically, and tech. He's married with 3 kids, and of course, likes to spend time with his kids in different ways. His older son actually trains with him in martial arts, and also does tech - building raspberry pi's and engineering different things. Leon also plays piano, as coming from a Russian family, it wasn't an option not to.At his prior startup, Leon and his CEO would get into conversations about - you guessed - his cloud spending bill. He knew that the usage was justified, but could not point to why each piece of infrastructure was allocated. And further, he could not automatically optimize it, and reduce the bill. This is the creation story of Cast AI.SponsorsCourierImg.lyRoutableCTO.aiCloudways offers peace of mind and flexibility so you can focus on growing your business instead of dealing with server management. Football analyst John Owning, an instructor and international competitor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, stops by Matt Waldman's RSP Cast for a conversation about the martial art and how it helps him analyze football. If you subscribe to the RSP Film Room, you probably saw Owning and I break down Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa's film while he was at Ohio State or Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett at Texas A&M. Owning, a graduate of Dan Hatman's Scouting Academy, brought up Bosa's footwork as an edge rusher that needed to be addressed in the NFL — an insight that few, if any, mentioned pre-draft. Owning and I spent a half-hour discussing a variety of topics focused on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and football, including his thoughts on Chuck Liddell's PR event with the Browns: Owning's 100-pound transformation from a 275-pound lineman to an international competitor in BJJ. Where BJJ and football have commonalities. The football positions that would benefit most from BJJ training — there's at least one that will surprise you. Why leverage is more important than power on the football field — including player examples. Why Chuck Liddell's PR event in Cleveland was not a worthwhile teaching session for the Browns and a disappointing representation of the martial art applied to football. This was another fantastic guest appearance. If you think so too, rate and review the show after you give it a listen. Jeremy did a research project on West Point when he was in seventh grade. From that moment on, his goal was to attend West Point for college. Despite having no military background in his family, he worked hard, and when the time came to apply, he received early admission to the school of his dreams. The determination and follow-through would carry over into his entrepreneurial efforts later on in life. After serving, he took a traditional corporate job and quickly found himself bored, but that didn’t deter him. “I told my boss that I wanted to train Brazilian Jui-Jitsu from 10 am to 2 pm every day,” Gocke said, and he did just that. Eventually, he left his corporate job to start a business with some of his friends from West Point. While the technology was innovative, the timing was not. The dot com bubble burst, and the business was shut down. This experience, that left him with $87 to his name, would ultimately be the spark for Jeremy’s string of successes over the years.

Hello ladies and gentleman this is Ed O’Keefe and welcome to the first video blog where I go over a book review! One of my favorite books of all time, “Ready, Fire, Aim: Zero to $100 Million in No Time Flat” by Michael Masterson, also AKA Mark Ford. Now in this short review, I tell you a funny story about how the first time I met Michael Masterson at one of his seminars and how I ended up drinking, would loiter in for 3 hours before we went with Michael to do Brazilian Jui Jitsu. But more importantly, in this you’re going to get some of the best nuggets I took out of his book. This book is definitely worth reading and is really a blue print for anyone who is looking to seriously grow a business from scratch or if you are at the million to 10 million dollar range looking to bring it up to the next level, you will get to hear some insights from a proven pro. So hope you enjoyed it, give me a feedback, let me know what you think and I will see you on the other side.
