It's mailbag time! And while we know we said this last time, we really mean it that this was probably the hardest group of questions we've dealt with on the show yet! Rodney and Sam get out their thinking caps and answer some questions from listeners like you about non-traditional organizational leadership, workplace dynamics around project capacity planning, and more. Questions tackled: Are great teams and strategies impossible without traditional leadership? Can project capacity planning be done in a people-positive, complexity conscious way? Why do traditional orgs bias towards convergent thinking, especially around annual planning? How do you prioritize cross-functional initiatives between leadership and teams that avoids zombie projects and mutual disappointment? -------------------------------- Want future of work insights and experiments you can try delivered to your inbox? Chase Chapman is the Owner of Blue Dog Carpet Cleaning, a professional carpet cleaning service specializing in cleaning pet stains and removing carpet odors. With years of experience, Blue Dog Carpet Cleaning values transparency and offers custom cleaning. Chase is a former IRS agent turned businessman. In this episode… Property owners often don't consider the benefits of professional carpet cleaning. Instead, they vacuum routinely and use generic cleaning solutions, embedding dirt, dust, and hair into the carpet fibers. So what does professional carpet cleaning entail, and how can you preserve your floors? As an expert in extensive carpet cleaning, Chase Chapman employs a multi-step process to ensure pristine and odorless carpets. He uses HEPA-filtered vacuums to remove allergens before disinfecting and deodorizing the area with boiling water, flash flood tools, and industrial-grade, safe chemicals. To minimize carpet deterioration, Chase recommends maintaining the area between cleanings by purchasing walk-off mats, vacuuming thoroughly, and utilizing acidic cleaning solutions. Join Mat Zalk in this episode of The Same Day Podcast as he hosts Chase Chapman, the Owner of Blue Dog Carpet Cleaning, who describes the carpet cleaning process. Chase shares his worst carpet cleaning experiences, the differences between DIY and professional carpet cleaning, and how he networks to gain industry insights.

In this episode of Rehash, we sat down with Julia Rosenberg and Chase Chapman from Metropolis to discuss all things DAOs, governance, and Metropolis.Julia started learning about crypto after being frustrated with web2 scaling models in her startup journey, which eventually led her to co-founding Metropolis (previously Orca Protocol.) Chase fell down the crypto rabbit hole while working in marketing and data analytics. After graduating college she dove headfirst into the DAO ecosystem and started contributing to DAOs full time. She eventually started her own podcast, On the Other Side, where she talks about the human aspects of web3. Eventually she met Julia and fell in love with Orca Protocol (now Metropolis) before joining the team there.Julia and Chase lay some groundwork for the episode by defining governance, not only in the DAO ecosystem, but much more broadly. We compare DAOs to digital cities and discuss the transition from corporate structures to DAOs, which transfers more ownership to members and gives them more autonomy over their work. We touch on the complexity of DAOs, the ways in which they are failing, the ways in which they can benefit humanity, and how Metropolis is enabling them to achieve better governance. Julia and Chase explain the Metropolis rebrand and help listeners understand how the protocol works on a very basic and tangible level. We discuss the importance of organizations being human centric and scalable, and the two share how they have seen DAOs evolve as well as how they think they'll evolve in the coming years.
Chase Chapman is a DAO researcher at Metropolis, focused on exploring how DAOs will shape the way humans think about and engage in work. She is an angel investor, host of “On the Other Side”, a podcast exploring the human side of web3, and spends most of her time collaborating with and writing about DAOs. DAOs - Decentralized Autonomous Organizations - represents one of the most interesting concepts in the blockchain enabled space. A DAO is a self-governing organization that is independent from any central authority, and its rules are enforced by smart contracts. In this episode Chase helps us to better understand how DAOs have evolved over the last few years and to explore today's DAO landscape. In the conversation we also dive deeper into the possibilities of developing an inter-DAO evolutionary organization model and debate the importance of developing organizational building blocks that can interoperate across DAOs and - eventually - traditional organizations. With Chase we also discussed how the atomic unit of the DAO (and organizing) is not the individual contributor, but rather the small group, and how DAO tooling is moving from financial tools to cultural and organizational tools. We talked about how traditional organizations can also use this approach (or maybe not) and how DAOs can possibly help governments develop public policies that facilitate social and ecological transition. Maybe you're already deep into crypto, NFTs (or non-fungible tokens), and DAOs (or decentralized autonomous organizations). And maybe you only know what web3 is because your cousin can't stop talking about it. Whichever end of the spectrum you fall on, there's much more for all of us to learn about this novel digital landscape being built before our eyes. But here's something we do know: web3 and DAOs represent a new frontier in democratizing our digital spaces and giving people true ownership over the content they make—and that has radical implications for the future of work. In this episode, we talk to Chase Chapman, a DAO contributor and host of the “On the Other Side” podcast, about this exciting new territory's building blocks; what DAOs actually are and how they function; and why all of this stuff meaningfully intersects with self-management and systems design. In this episode of The Unstoppable Podcast, we sit down with Chase Chapman, Co-Founder at Decentology, and talk about everything from what got her into crypto originally, her passion for DAOs, and how those who want to get involved with them can get started. She shares her thoughts on the danger of burnout when working in the crypto space, as well as talking about how companies and social interactions will continue to evolve in an anonymous, time-asynchronous space. Part of what drives Chase (and Decentology) is a desire to make crypto more accessible to people in general. One of the ways she sees this happening is through DAOs. These make it possible for the developers and auditors—the actual community working on a project—to have the freedom of freelancing and with the upside of ownership. It isn't risk-free, as of course the tokens earned for these projects can swing wildly in value: they're nothing like a traditional fixed asset or currency.Chase also shares the tip of ‘lurking'—it's a great way to find out what the vibe is like in a DAO and where you could contribute. She likens it to the real-life equivalent of being able to look at the Slack conversations of a company you are interviewing with.We finish by talking about the social implications of all this developing tech: What are some ways to avoid burnout? How can you build empathy with people whose identities are anonymous? How can IRL events (like retreats) help build your DAO?Will the corporations fall to DAO governance?--You can follow Matthew on Twitter and LinkedIn, Diana on Twitter and LinkedIn, and learn more about Unstoppable Domains and our work here. You can follow our guest, Chase Chapman, on Twitter and LinkedIn, and you can check out her podcast here.--Don't forget to rate, download, and subscribe to the podcast so we can keep producing awesome content for you and you won't miss an episode.
