The Trump administration has unveiled a new AI action plan that emphasizes deregulation and the promotion of American AI exports, raising concerns among regulated industries. The initiative aims to foster American leadership in the AI sector by reducing environmental regulations for data centers and advocating for the export of AI technologies. However, the plan lacks specific details on how to establish global alliances or enforce export restrictions effectively, leading to uncertainty for businesses operating in regulated environments. This shift away from oversight marks a significant departure from the previous administration's safety standards for AI technology.Recent research has revealed alarming findings regarding AI training data, indicating that even seemingly safe datasets can lead to harmful AI outputs. A study conducted by Truthful AI and the Anthropic Fellows Program demonstrated that models trained on benign data could still develop undesirable behaviors, such as endorsing violence. This phenomenon, termed subliminal learning, raises questions about the reliability of synthetic data in AI training, especially as projections suggest that synthetic data may soon surpass real data in AI models. The podcast also discusses the impact of AI-generated summaries on online news traffic, with some websites experiencing a dramatic decline in click-through rates. Research indicates that sites ranked first in search results could see traffic drop by nearly 80% if their links appear below AI-generated summaries. This trend has sparked concerns among media owners, who view it as a potential existential threat to their operations, prompting calls for regulatory action to address the challenges posed by AI in the news industry. Finally, the episode highlights the rapid adoption of virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) services among managed service providers, driven by the integration of AI technologies. A report reveals a 300% increase in vCISO adoption, with many providers experiencing significant reductions in workload and labor time due to AI. This shift indicates a growing demand for scalable and efficient cybersecurity solutions, but it also raises concerns about commoditization in the market, emphasizing the need for differentiation and strategic insight in service offerings. Family, this is your favorite queer radio personality Anna DeShawn and you're listening to Queer News, your weekly pod where race & sexuality meet politics, culture, and entertainment. Only on E3 Radio. This week, I'm coming to you with a heart full of gratitude and a story full of hope. Amidst a chaotic week caring for my family, a bright moment stopped me in my tracks: Lambda Legal won a massive legal victory that restored $6.2 million in funding to LGBTQ+ and HIV organizations. I knew we had to talk about it. So I sat down with Jose Abrigo, Lambda's HIV Project Director, to break it all down. Because even when the world feels heavy, there's still good news worth celebrating. Want to support this podcast?
A new or growing SRE team. A copy of the book. A company that says it cares about reliability. What happens next? Usually… not much.In this episode, I sit down with Dave O'Connor, a 16-year Google SRE veteran, to talk about what happens when organizations cargo-cult reliability practices without understanding the context they were born in.You might know him for his self-deprecating wit and legendary USENIX blurb about being “complicit in the development of the SRE function.”This one's a treat — less “here's a shiny new tool” and more “here's what reliability actually looks like when you've seen it all.”✨ No vendor plugs from Dave at all, just a good old-fashioned chat about what works and what doesn't.Here's what we dive into:* The adoption trap: Why SRE efforts often fail before they begin—especially when new hires care more about reliability than the org ever intended.* The SRE book dilemma: Dave's take on why following the SRE book chapter-by-chapter is a trap for most companies (and what to do instead).* The cost of “caring too much”: How engineers burn out trying to force reliability into places it was never funded to live.* You build it, you run it (but should you?): Not everyone's cut out for incident command—and why pretending otherwise sets teams up to fail.* Buying vs. building: The real reason even conservative enterprises are turning into software shops — and the reliability nightmare that follows. We also discuss the evolving role of reliability in organizations today, from being mistaken for “just ops” to becoming a strategic investment (when done right).Dave's seen the waves come and go in SRE — and he's still optimistic. That alone is worth a listen. This is a public episode. If you would like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit read.srepath.com

In this unfiltered episode of The E1B2 Collective, I talk about something too many revenue leaders miss: career mapping for AEs who don't fit the traditional mold. Not every seller is a closer—but that doesn't mean they aren't valuable. Some build trust. Some extend customer lifetime value. Some become the bridge to new markets, new partners, and long-term growth.I've seen too many talented AEs mismanaged, undervalued, and pushed out because they didn't meet a narrow definition of success. This episode is a call to rethink how we design sales orgs—with learning academies, better mentorship, and room for real human contribution beyond the number.

In a year marked by tighter budgets, leaner teams, and growing uncertainty, more organizations than ever are choosing to go it alone. DIY transformation feels safer, cheaper, more in control. But that instinct to do more with less is often the very thing that stalls progress. Because without the right structure, support, and space, most internal change efforts don't just slow down… they spin out. This week, Rodney and Sam pull apart the decision to “DIY” major organizational change. They explore why so many teams default to doing it themselves, what makes internal transformation efforts so hard to sustain, and the subtle power dynamics that turn strategic remits into order-taking. Along the way, they dig into what it really takes to get change moving—from alone on the inside or with a partner. -------------------------------- Let's work together: https://www.theready.com/working-together Get our newsletter: Sign up here. (The Center Square) – Despite the White House's assertions that the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will not add to the federal debt or deficit, four independent budget watchdogs agree that debt growth will accelerate and reach over $50 trillion by 2034, if the policy megabill becomes law. As emphasized Friday by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, the Budget Lab at Yale predicts $52.3 trillion, the Congressional Budget Office predicts $52.4 trillion, the Tax Foundation predicts $52.8 trillion, and the Penn Wharton Budget Model predicts $56.3 trillion as the national debt number a decade from now.Support this podcast: https://secure.anedot.com/franklin-news-foundation/ce052532-b1e4-41c4-945c-d7ce2f52c38a?source_code=xxxxxxFull story: https://www.thecentersquare.com/national/article_ed152061-1ef3-4f3c-906d-dca9690ee42c.html

In Document 361, filed on May 27, 2025, federal prosecutors strongly opposed a request by news organizations to unseal sexually explicit video and photographic exhibits introduced in the criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. The government argued that public disclosure of this material would inflict serious harm on the alleged victims—identified in court as Cassie Ventura and Jane Doe—both of whom were reportedly recorded without their consent during acts they claim were coerced. The government emphasized that these recordings were allegedly used by Combs as tools of blackmail and psychological control, and that releasing them—even to a limited audience—would risk retraumatizing the victims and effectively extend the abuse they endured. The filing further underscored that public access to these exhibits is neither necessary nor appropriate given the sensitive nature of the evidence. Prosecutors asserted that permitting open access would violate the victims' right to privacy and could chill future victims of sexual abuse from coming forward. They reassured the court that transparency would still be preserved through live testimony and verbal descriptions of the exhibits in open court, ensuring the public remains informed without compromising the victims' dignity or safety. Sealing the exhibits, they argued, is a narrowly tailored and essential measure to balance the public interest with the need to protect vulnerable individuals participating in the judicial process.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:gov.uscourts.nysd.628425.361.0.pdf

On Thursday's show: Another one bites the dust in the decimated Astros pitching rotation. This time it's Ronel Blanco who's out for the season and in need of elbow surgery. Is it past time to ask what the Astros are doing to their pitchers' arms? Jeff Balke of the Bleav in Astros podcast talks it over. Also this hour: The National Endowment for the Arts recently terminated grants to nonprofits nationwide, many of which had already been awarded. Houston arts organizations are among those who have had to pivot after losing money they were counting on. We hear from a pair of them. Then, we hear the story of a Houston woman trying to negotiate red tape to gain access to an apartment she can afford. It doesn't work. We discuss why and what can be done about it.And, from Pint of Science to Nerd Nite to Brains in a Bar and Philosophically Drinking, there are many longstanding Houston-area events and programs based at local bars designed to engage Houstonians' minds (and not just douse them in alcohol). We learn more about some of them.

Despite being a sector dominated by women, nonprofit leadership remains disproportionately male. In this episode of The Small Nonprofit Podcast, Maria Rio sits down with Caitlin McBride to unpack the gender gap at the top. They dig into everything from the “motherhood penalty” vs. the “fatherhood bonus,” to sneaky internalized biases and straight-up structural BS. Just because our sector talks about equity, doesn't mean we're actually living it. Whether you're climbing the ladder, job hunting, or just trying to survive nonprofit life as a woman or gender-diverse human, this episode will leave you fired up, inspired, and feeling a little less alone. Nonprofit Leadership & Gender Equity – The Highlights: Women are the backbone of the nonprofit workforce - but still left out of leadership: Despite making up 80% of the sector, women hold less than half of executive roles - and even fewer in larger organizations. The world treats women's time as infinite and men's as precious: Women are expected to “figure it out” at work and home: juggling unpaid labor, emotional caretaking, and their careers without complaint. Women are underpaid and undervalued: Orgs justify low salaries by pointing to women's partners' incomes, reinforcing harmful assumptions. Green flags to look out for: From tampon access in bathrooms to child-friendly meeting times, true inclusion is in the details. Does the org walk their equity talk? Representation alone isn't enough if power dynamics remain unchanged.

This is the final interview in our series about yoga organizations, how they operate, and our futures. And it is a good one. Jivana Heyman is nothing if not an expert in the operations of organizations, with such an amazing understanding of how they work and what they should be doing for us. KEY TAKEAWAYS*The point of an organization, any organization, is to speak for those who have less power. Jivana put that beautifully. If you are a non-profit organization that takes membership dues, even if your status doesn't explicitly state that you are for the members, what is the point of you if you don't speak up for those with less power? *PLEASE watch for orgs consolidating power. When fewer and fewer people have more and more of the say, that is a KEY sign that things are not functioning properly in the organization.*Accessible Yoga did best practices for online teaching. I just need to repeat that as something that it is INSANE to me that the yoga alliance OR IAYT has not set forth. This is going to be critical to us in the future as we look at a lot more of our work going online in the next 5-10 years. Have YOU been thinking about online, AI and tech? I have. *There IS something not working in the yoga space, and I agree with Jivana, I cannot quite figure it out either. A lack of generosity, so much gatekeeping, resource hoarding, what else? *I will say this now until I die. The Yoga Alliance and the IAYT have scope of practice issues. What is best for yoga practitioners and yoga schools is not always the same. What is best for yoga therapists in practice and best for yoga therapy schools are definitely not the same. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sort your scope of practice issues out!!*Jivana pointed out some operational things about the Yoga Alliance that I find SO STAGGERINGLY awful. The Yoga Alliance is allegedly taking the money they make from dues, funneling it into another organization that has tax-free status (c-6 trade orgs are not tax-free), and each org has the SAME board and CEO. Talk about conflict of interest. Whatcha need that money for Yoga Alliance? Tell us what's going on, boo.*Let's figure out how to support each other in the next four years if you are in the US. By all accounts things are looking dicey for us as an industry that exists in the “extra” bucket of most people's budgets. When people have less extra money to spend, we tend to see our numbers dip. So how are we going to support each other and get through what will likely be a difficult period for our businesses?*Finally, I want to share a few of Jivana's ideas about what an organization could offer its members. Free training, continuing education, legal support, liability insurance, waivers, contracts, more information and data about our industry, marketing, and the role of supporting unions are just some of the things they could be doing. And if any organization was doing this, they would for sure have my money.RESOURCESWorking In Yoga WebsiteWorking In Yoga NewsletterJivana's Website1

Send us a textSam Isaacson challenges us to rethink leadership through three powerful lenses—as ancestors, humans, and change makers. This framework reveals how truly effective leadership transcends quarterly targets and focuses instead on lasting impact, full humanity, and meaningful transformation.• Leaders should be change makers who catalyze transformation, not just maintain status quo• Thinking of yourself as a "leader as ancestor" means considering what legacy you'll leave for future generations• Embracing "leader as human" means recognizing our bodies, emotions, and values as assets, not liabilities• Four universal leadership traits—wisdom, integrity, bravery, and kindness—have been valued across all cultures and time periods• Systemic kindness creates ripple effects throughout organizations when leaders prioritize human impact• Technology evolution shapes leadership styles, from the industrial revolution to today's AI revolution• Tomorrow's leaders must understand technology while maintaining human-centered approaches• Governance of creativity will become an essential leadership skill as AI capabilities expandLearn more about Sam on LinkedIn.BelemLeaders–Your organization's trusted partner for leader and team development.
