Namecoin IDs (also known as BitDNS) were created in 2012 and looked to solve the idea of decentralized identity. Where users could log into websites with their crypto wallets, purchase a product using BTC or NMC, and use an identity of their choice. The first registered ID was "id/khal" and by the end of 2017 namecoin IDs were integrated into dozens of websites and services. Today we look to understand the history of id/ and how its a possible early precursor to Emercoin and Ethereum Name Service. |Taha Zafar|• Twitter → https://twitter.com/taha_crypto1• Website → https://linktr.ee/namecoin_ids|CONNECT WITH JAKE|• Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/jakegallen/• Twitter → https://twitter.com/jakegallen_• Facebook → https://www.facebook.com/JakeNGallen• Linkedin →  https://www.linkedin.com/in/jake-gall...|FOLLOW AND SUBSCRIBE THE PODCAST|• Website → https://www.jakegallen.com/• Youtube → Subscribe to this page• Apple Podcasts → https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...• Spotify → https://open.spotify.com/show/7hQdRAz...• Google Podcasts → https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=aHR...• RSS Feed → https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1005154.rss• Website → https://solo.to/theguestlistpod• Media Host → https://theguestlistpod.buzzsprout.com/

Launched on July 29, 2016, BeerCoin is one of the oldest NFT projects on the Ethereum blockchain. It was created by Nick Johnson, the eventual founder of Ethereum Name Service (ENS), for the purpose of issuing (non-binding and just-for-fun) beer IOUs (see original announcement here).     In theory, infinitely many IOUs can be issued. However, at the end of 2017, only 94 beers were owed in total. The state of the contract was left unchanged from 2018-2020, and then people started playing around with it in 2021.     A stepping stone on the way to the ERC-721 standard for modern NFTs, the BeerCoin project holds a special place in Ethereum history. The 94 IOUs originating in that 2016-17 time period are indeed rare digital artifacts.|Beercoin| • Twitter → https://twitter.com/goatishduck• Twitter → https://twitter.com/wrappedbeercoin• Website → https://digitalanddusty.com/2022/05/04/beercoin-2016-ethereum-project/|CONNECT WITH JAKE|• Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/jakegallen/• Twitter → https://twitter.com/jakegallen_• Facebook → https://www.facebook.com/JakeNGallen• Linkedin →  https://www.linkedin.com/in/jake-gall...|FOLLOW AND SUBSCRIBE THE PODCAST|• Website → https://www.jakegallen.com/• Youtube → Subscribe to this page• Apple Podcasts → https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...• Spotify → https://open.spotify.com/show/7hQdRAz...• Google Podcasts → https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=aHR...• RSS Feed → https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1005154.rss• Website → https://solo.to/theguestlistpod• Media Host → https://theguestlistpod.buzzsprout.com/

The Zen Crypto Show - Learn Bitcoin, Ethereum and how to invest in crypto

Crypto wallet addresses are not very human-friendly. But one project allows you to create human-readable names for your wallet address. That project is ENS or Ethereum Name Service. To understand ENS, we first need to understand what domain names are. Then we look at what ENS is and how it works. And finally, we talk about how ENS is managed. The Zen Crypto Show is produced by ZenGo: the crypto wallet for everyone. Buy, trade, and earn with unbelievable simplicity, bulletproof security, and legendary customer support.
