The fabled city of Malacca was the portal through which the trade treasures of the Indian and Pacific Oceans flowed. It had a formidable army and a determined sultan. Afonso de Albuquerque arrived in 1511 with just over a thousand men, but he was even more determined to make it a part of the Portuguese Empire. We're here to cover episodes 6 and 7 of Disco season 4. There may be a few audio issues. Join us and hear what we thought of the final episodes before the break, and what we're looking forward to when it returns.
A pet peeve of mine – jumbled junk in the car – particularly stuff that doesn't really do anything useful. It's not just accessory shops that are guilty; manufacturers, too, can get a little carried away. It's not all iffy though: ever heard of a Vibrasonic, do you know who designed the interior of the first Dicovery, and which cars have umbrellas? You'll be blessed with all this essential knowledge after you've heard this week's edition of Car-Chum.
In this episode the boys talk about Star Trek: Discovery season 3's fourth episode- "Forget Me Not". They also talk about a recent event and the power of healing. Good times.
This Week in History we will be looking at possibly the most famous Pharaoh in ancient Egypt Tutankhamun and his discovery by Howard Carter in 1922

Der Weltraum. Unendliche Weiten. Hi! I’m James Fratzke, the host of LEADERS. On each episode, I’ll interview a proven Leader, CEO, Entrepreneur, or Founder and unpack their story of success. There’s this quote I love by Sir Isaac Newton “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.” And that’s how I try to live my life and run my business. That’s why we started this podcast. Yes, there are countless podcasts where super successful people talk to other super successful people. All to help us the common folk reach their levels success. But this is podcast is different. I’m an infinite learner who’s less concerned with how something was done and more intrigued with why. I want to learn from others and share those lessons with like-minded people.Every question I ask is driven by curiosity. I honestly want to learn and understand the stories and habits behind each and every leader’s success. So whether I’m talking to the CEO of a successful coffeehouse that has raised over $75 million in venture capital. Or a founder who sold his first company for $750 million, I want to unpack their principles, habits, favorite books, and what they've learned from past experiences, to help others grow into to successful Leaders. This is our opportunity to stand on the shoulders of giants and learn from their journey.Welcome to the Leaders Podcast, powered by Fratzke Media.

In the early hours of January 25th, three citizen scientist surveyors from GECO, Goongerah Environment Centre Office, conducted a survey for Greater Gliders in old growth forest on the Errinundra Plateau. Logging machinery had just moved in and logging was about to commence. The survey was conducted to determine if the species was present in high enough densities to trigger legal protection. Fifteen Greater Gliders were found in about 800m. This is a huge population - legal protection and a 100 hectare protected area are the regulatory requirement be created. The survey was finished at 3am, the data compiled and a report written. Submission to the state government was made just before 9am. One hour later, VicForests were forced to stop logging. This week on Dirt Radio GECO's Ed Hill talks about the survey, citizen science and acting to protect high conservation value forests from logging.GECO is a grass roots community group based in the small town of Goongerah in far East Gippsland, Victoria. Since 1993 they have campaigned for protection of East Gippsland’s forests.
